because this has come up with a few friends before, i am curious -- in the replies or tags, can you list:

what you consider the average song length

what you consider 'long' for a song, and 'short' for one

a few genres you listen to the most/consider your favorite

#for me i consider 4-5 average #7 minutes or longer is long #2-3 minutes or shorter is notably short #and my favorite genres are rock n hip hop from the 90s-2000s #at least sayin from QotSA bein my fave and listening to Mos Def and a lotta others from that era or newer #hip hop & rap seems to vary quite a bit in song length #hard rock is pretty flatly consistent (esp with sumn like RATM) but any tinge of outer influence can change that #QotSA has their 7-9 minute songs #and Mars Volta n King Gizzard notably have some reaaaal long songs cuz of psych influence #or prog in MV's case

“artists just don’t start from the ground up like they used to anymore:(” yeah the do actually you just have to actually find and support up and coming artists and bands. and your local live music venues. buy their merch. stream their music. tell your friends about it. post about it on your socials and follow them on theirs. if you wanna find up and coming artists or bands, find them and help them come up!!

#lw frankenwrestlegear ◇#MOSTLY I WANTED TO SHOW LW AND KG'S MAGIC TYPE!! It's called prog/psych magic #Lw and kg learned their basics from 'uncle' paradigm (he adopted them mostly to keep them out of trouble) but then to his chagrin veered of #Into this long-forgotten type of magic cuz its practically useless. It's just tricks of the light and warping light around you #But lw and kg learned how to use this in ways to warp the opponent's mind and make them think they're fighting someone bigger/faster or mor #Basically in game it would the WORST thing and manipulate hitboxes and the screen itself #Besides that it makes markings in her skin glow and its pretty light! Free lightshow! Free pyrotecnics!#Lw is unable to use 'proper' magic due to being kind of a made/revived gear instead of a proper one... like many gears in one you capisce #LW also self-identifies as a dragon despite looking just reptilian and nothing particularly identifying it as a dragon

Bram Stoker - Heavy Rock Spectacular (1972) I came across this band and this album recently and it's some listenable prog rock. I could do without the lead singer's periodic appearance throughout the album in favor of more Hammond organ and that fuzzed out guitar. The compositions are dynamic and engaging with the instrumental 'Fingal's cave' being my favorite here (although the dance between the bass and the keyboardist in the instrumental 'Ants' is a pleasure too). From my cursory research, the band is a cult favorite in progressive rock circles and I'm surprised I didn't hear of them sooner. Give it a listen.
