I'm not too interested in the traditional romance route for the ships I delve into either, particularly the marriage + kids part that everyone assumes must be obligatory. That's why with Sonic and Trudy, I focus on their quiet chemistry, with maybe some mild flirting out in the open at most, with the more overt gestures of passion instead ensuing in private during... well, a much different and perhaps family unfriendly kind of cathartic release, as you know. ;D

But even with Mario and Vivian, while the way I'm choosing to portray that one is relatively bolder in outward demeanour than Sonudis (since I feel it's how it would function with their official portrayals), I still don't bother with stuff like muh marriage or muh nuclear family. Instead I focus on their deep-seated passion, because the meat of it is what compels me. :3

I already felt this way about my approach to shipping for years anyway, but in light of fandoms forcing tired tropes upon writers, and ~certain mutuals~ helping me come out of my writing shell in recent times, it's only intensified since then. :P

I mean, the logic is simple

"Ship" is short for "relationship". And a relationship can be of any kind. It can be romantic, it can be platonic, it can be sexual, it can be healthy, unhealthy or outright abusive if not hostile. It can be between two spouses as much as it can be between boss and employee. The word encompasses so much, I'm honestly annoyed by the vagueness - there are so many ships that I ship not in the "aww they'd be so cute for each other 🥺" way but in a "wouldn't it be funny if these two fucked nasty" way lol, or even in a "wow i can't wait for them to get divorced" lmao

And like. Sometimes marriage does work for some ships. Obviously, in the Castlevania universe, many straight ships are between husband and wife. Almost every Belmont has his wife/fiancée and naturally they're implied to have had kids at some point, and Hector married Rosaly. And that is perfectly fine and a good writer can write something interesting out of it - special shoutout, naturally, to @simonsquest who took the perhaps uncomfortable concept of Simon and Selena being arranged against their will for the sake of producing a healthy heir, and still developing it in a way that makes their love organic, deep and palpable: it works for them. (hope you don't mind the tag, man <3)

But it's not a requirement. It's not the end-all-be-all. Still staying in CVland, I doubt Alucard would ever want to marry Maria, because the dude is so terrified of himself, it would be already a conquest if he allowed someone to fall in love with him. And while the Sorrow games heavily push for Soma and Mina being an item, who's to say they'll have a wedding in the future? Maybe they'll be roommates. Maybe by 2036 the culture has shifted even more than it already has.

And moving away from CV, I think I made my feelings about Sonamy as a romantic couple clear :P no marriage. There is absolutely no need for that. Sonic and Amy can have a deep relationship without going through the motions. Going through the motions is not their style anyway.

And this is just about straight ships. Admittedly, I'm not into big fandoms and I don't really know what people usually do with them, if the majority tends to assume that marriage is the natural conclusion of a "healthy" relationship. I have seen this with some gay ships, actually, like Narumitsu from AA fame (even though Edgeworth canonically isn't interested in weddings...). My point is that, as "no shit sherlock" it sounds, there is no size fits all solution. There is no traditional nuclear family setting that innately symbolizes that a relationship has reached its peak and objective. Some get married and have kids and it can be sweet and appropriate, others don't need to.

I guess the best way I can put this is, I refuse to treat ships like convenient pre-packaged molds - the characters involved change everything.

Ok so after finding out that WoW's story has been a haphazard disaster since year dot, and it wouldn't matter knowing everything about the lore if quest designers can just be like: 'hey I'm gonna do X because X is cool'

Do you have any headcanons or know any obscure facts about Paula Fox? Because she has a cool design, but I feel like the anime didn't give her much to do outside of being "girl character #3".

I kinda agree but honestly not the best to ask about Paula fox in a canon sense since I've havent finished the anime. I dont plan on watching it anytime soon. All i know is that she's a tomboy and that she likes sports as well as fashion.

One interesting facet about her is that she was supposed to be in a band in the anime. but it was never utilized as far as i know.

For my personal headcanons for her would be:

She had a crush on Katy when they were in the same class (in the anime's universe) but it was never reciprocated because she never confessed.

If she ever gets reintroduced in a new game, she'd still retain her antagonistic tendencies/attitude towards Katy like in episode 1. In essence she's Katy's foil like how Joe Chin is parappa's foil and Rammy is Lammy's foil. Well she's obviously still Katy and Parappa's friend compared to Rammy and Joe chin, they'll just have friendly competition. Be it fashion design or singing.

She and Matt would be two years younger than the PTR cast, to make sense of the age inconsistency.

If she decides on making a band, her band mates would be Rammy (as the guitarist) and PJ (as the producer/drummer-adjancet). Rammy would have declined to join but she saw an opportunity to "get back" at Lammy (as always...) and PJ... just because lol.

Rammy and Paula butt heads because Rammy doesn't believe in Paula's leadership. PJ's neutral, he'll usually not intervene unless it gets too heated. They usually dont hangout unless its practice or a gig. the band would probably disband fairly quickly lel.

Since she's a fox, her fur will change depending on alot of things. When she grows up to adult age, she'll have the more traditional orange, black and white fox coat. As well as the elongation of her snout. Every winter she'll have a white coat to accommodate

M2KM and Guru Ant sound alike. but they aren't voiced by the same person , and since there's no infos about the voice actors in the credits of PTR2 and that it's widely spread on the internet that they both have been voiced by Dean Bowman, it's hard make the truth spark. Kalecgos's hypothesis that Dalaran's debris interferes with long-range teleportation seems correct. Mage portals have appeared along the shore, but no one has stepped through them. There are likely mages trapped within the portals. Or, something mana hungry--like felhunters--may be being lured here by the release of Dalaran's power. We must investigate. Mages of the Kirin Tor may be in danger. The felhunters are an acceptable risk. Let us not waste anymore time.

This is exactly what I had feared. Thalen Songweaver's notes on the mana bomb he devised to devastate Theramore were under guard in Dalaran. Few knew of this. I argued they should be destroyed. But others argued if such a bomb was again created, we would need them to disarm it. And now those notes are both the problem and the solution. Thankfully, I have read these notes. I will walk you through disarming the mana bomb.

Distangle the bomb's power sources while I suppress it. We cannot allow the mana bomb to detonate! Realign the mana bomb's matrix!

The larger threat has been contained, but I believe there are still other artifacts important to our legacy--good and bad--here in Azj-Kahet. While they are still dangerous, their knowledge may benefit us in the long run. And, we must not allow the nerubians to profit from what they and Xal'atath did to Dalaran. Leave no dark corners here in the Breathing Pit unexplored.

 Some of the relics the nerubians now possess were housed in carefully-designed containment vaults on Dalaran. That is how dangerous and powerful they are. With those vaults gone, the only course of action we can take is to destroy them. In hindsight, it seems a grave mistake to have gathered so many powerful artifacts in one place--even if that place was Dalaran. I would trust no one else with this task. Find and destroy those artifacts.

This bomb should not have been built. Kirin Tor leadership is to blame. But we are all complicit and must atone for it. I will dispose of the bomb. Destroy the other artifacts and meet me in the Tranquil Strand  More mages have arrived in our absence. That is… heartening to see.

Not sure if I'll even read Plus One but nevertheless, I used my short creative burst to have fun replacing the AI weirdo with own version of the LI.

With customizable LIs the game has accumulated a huge back catalogue of gorgeous LI faces that I've never used either because I chose a different face for my playthrough or because the book was too gender locked for my taste to play it. So, for my "DJ" I decided to use the white face of Witness LI which also has "confident" in the file name. Coincidence? I think not!

The hair comes from one of the Dakota sprites. She won't need it any longer anyway, because she's, well... dead. The casual outfit is also from Witness, I just changed the color of the top from green to beige to align with the original. The gold/tan dress is from AME and I found the black lingerie from PTR section.

Anyway I support authors taking the exact plot of a book they wrote on a PTR app that took advantage of them and basically just changing the character’s names and a few minor details so they can get to use that book in portfolios, on KDP, and talk about the characters online without it being approved by an editor in a totally different time zone than you 🥰

Isaac wanted Hector to reclaim his power for the satisfaction of beating Hector at full power and didn't want the the easy way out of killing Hector when he was powerless. Isaac also wanted Hector to resurrect the castle for the delicious irony of the traitor who caused Dracula's death also be the reason for Dracula's revival.

But Zead taking credit for guiding Hector makes me wonder: what if Death convinced Isaac to let Hector regain his power in the first place?

It's never made clear if Death and Isaac worked together or if Death and Isaac made their plans independently of each other and Death just used Isaac for his own goals while Isaac might not even be aware of Zead.

Zead repeatable tells Hector where Isaac is and establishes himself as a reliable source of information, then just lies about Isaac being in the Infinite Corridor. It could be Zead and Isaac had planned this beforehand, and Isaac was just hiding while Trevor & Hector resurrected the castle or it could be Isaac is doing his own thing and Zead just keeping tabs on both Isaac and Hector.

The former fits better with Isaac attacking Trevor and presumable never was in Infinite Corridor, but the later do give the possibility of Isaac had planned for more of Hector's route and filled it with more patronizing instructions "Here is how you use your Innocent Devils to reach new places JUST IN CASE you forgot" but Death cut it all out because Death is petty and won't let Isaac have any fun.

Zead: *Sees Isaac's elaborate roadmap for Hector with sassy comments* I'll just skip this and point out where Isaac is.

Also not clear if Isaac was aware of Dracula's vessel needing to to fully succumb to the curse (Death explaining that to Hector leans to they not knowing, or Death, like Isaac, is just an patronizing bastard) and was prepared to be sacrificed to Dracula or if Isaac's plan was:

Trick Hector and Trevor into resurrect the castle

Kill Hector

Revive Lord Dracula

Be praised by Lord Dracula and told he is the best servant ever & need no one else and he'll ditch that smelly old skeleton

Death thanking Hector for hesitating to kill Isaac implies he couldn't use a corpse even if he succumbed to the curse. Or at least would be worse material. Which also doesn't explain if Isaac knew Death's plan and just assumed he get to kill Hector and use Hector's corpse to revive Dracula.

But back to the original point and assuming for sake of argument Death and Isaac worked together.

PtR version of Isaac brought a sword for Hector and both PtR and MF manga Isaac don't uses any of his Innocent Devils when fighting Hector. That's great evidence Isaac would always have wanted Hector to be at full strength. But that was also when Dracula was still alive, Isaac still had a home and not been years under a curse.

Isaac could have changed his mind how wise it was to be honorable. He could have regretted respecting Hector, convinced himself if he had used Abel or all of his Innocent Devils back then, then he would have made it back to the castle to heroically slay the Belmont and save his Lord and rewarded as he deserves.

Resurrection the castle requires blood of the Belmont and destroying the seal, but even Trevor feared Isaac scratching him was enough to gain entrance to Infinite Corridor and Isaac knew Devil Forgemasters could easily conjure enough magic to break the seal. So nothing about that step of the plan requires Hector other than the satisfaction of tricking Hector.

So it's not impossible Isaac would have wanted to kill the traitor, get blood from the Belmont and destroy the seal himself, and then revive Dracula and take all the credit for himself. None of which would require Hector to regain his power.

But Death wants to use Hector as he is the most suitable for Dracula's revival. And presumably Hector regaining his powers as the Devil Forgemaster is part of that process since it needs Dracula's power as a power source to work. Also because Death is petty and wants to get rid of both Devil Forgemasters.

Death is well known to be a manipulator and Isaac is ruled by his emotions so if Isaac originally didn't plan for Hector to regain his powers, it wouldn't take much prodding on Isaac's former respect for Hector and his desire to prove himself better than Hector.

Isaac could think everything was his and only his own plan, and not realizing Death is tricking him. It fits with Hector's conclusion Isaac was just another victim.

hi, i totally get it !! a capella is definitely not for everyone. pretty sure his best friend doesn't like pentatonix either lol. i actually got into ptx through one of mitch's other projects, superfruit, & i don't think i would've gotten into them if he wasn't part of it.

the focus on oversized suits specifically is a change to his look that's happened more in the last few years, though he has always been a fan of clothes that are oversized or otherwise give him an interesting silhouette. he's very obsessed with art & fashion, with a particular interest in things that are more alternative & avant garde.

in 2021 he did a livestream with his friend, an artist known as Planningtorock, during which they had a conversation about fashion that might answer your question... here's an excerpt: ---

Have you ever heard of Pop'n Music, and do you think it could be set in the same universe as PaRappa the Rapper?

I've only played Utacchi, I'm not familiar with the story tho (if Pop n Music even has one) and I don't think so, since Pop n music it's it own thing and they don't even share the same developer. Also the game mechanics are wildly different. I do think PtR's songs can be used in a hypothetical Pop n Music game tho.

Also the way they handle their respective genres are different. PtR/UJL focuses on one genre each game whereas Utacchi spans multiple and I'm assuming Pop n Music by proxy.

Some characters could swap places if they changed to the other game's artstyle tho. Both series have distinct yet similar styles as well as the fact they're both rhythm games.

I did think Parappa in Utacchi's style would be neat, like making spirtes akin to it.

I thought that Dean Bowman was guru ant's voice actor, because it's what was written on his wiki page (i already changed it, idk if the moderators will change it back because getting a proof that he isn't guru ant's vojce actor was not that easy) but it turns out it's actually somebody called Irving Louis Lattin, it's written on the ptr 2 soundtrack CD

Dean Bowman is Mushi's voice actor but not guru ant's voice actor, I wonder why they wrote this on the wiki.. aren't they like, pro of ptr merch and all ? Since all that time it's weird that so little people realized the error. Wasn't it written in the end credits ? Or somewhere else ?\gen
