#purchasing a new tablet pen rn

So I had purchased a new screen tablet close to a month and a half ago, and no sooner did it arrive did it just...not work. The power cable input was in such a state that you had to actually press *down* on the cable for power to reach the tablet. After a lot of tape and frustration later, it was an unwinnable situation. So I asked XP-Pen to make good on their warranty and send me a replacement.
Well they made good on it, and for the first time *ever* I’ve actually been able to sit down and draw with a screen tablet. And holy crud let me tell you, the difference is night and day. It’s just so responsive. Sketching out forms just feels so intuitive, like it does on paper- and I’m not finding myself stuck over-analyzing the linework. It all just kind of happens- like it should- and I’m so excited for art in general rn.
I know I get carried away with the rambling here- Kronii’s newest outfit, which in no way makes her look like an aunt. A very, very pretty aunt.

question about art programs
is there any good (NO SUB SCRIPTION ONE TIME PURCHASE TO OWN) art program that would work well for a mouse user (so your selling point isnt ''look at all these unique brushes (that require pen pressure to look good)!!"
because im a mouse user i dont have pen pressure, so a lot of ''textured brushes'' dont work for me because i dont have the pressure that really makes the ''texture'' of the pen look pretty
but im still someone who really likes textured art, and would need to be able to replicate my brush in this new art program, which rn is just a glorified noise brush at the smallest width
Tumblr media
if anybody has any good art program recs let me know and please remember i use a mouse and not tablet and i dont use assets like hair packs or chain packs due to hating how they dont mesh with the textured brushes i use, so the selling point of ''theres lots of asset packs'' or ''lots of pen pressure-reliant brushes'' doesnt mean anything for me :(
(i currently use paint tool SAI VER 1.1.0 and find it the best art program ive used so far, if thats any help)

hey so idk of anyone else has had this problem but i have an intuos pro wacom tablet and for as expensive as their shit is it should not be this poor quality. like apparently the charging port on the damn thing gets loose after a while and i was able to work around it by purchasing a phone battery charger to charge the battery directly. but now i have a quality issue with their fucking pens. like their most standard grip pen with no extravagencies attached cost a little over $60. and this piece of junk will fall apart in your hands in no less than a year. like mine literally exploded. the back part slipped off, leaving the chip exposed and then everything just sort of tumbled out and it couldn't be put back together like humpty dumpty or some shit. what im getting from digging around is this happens to a lot of people and they have no choice but to break down and purchase a new one because there are no alternatives for the wacom intuos pro and customer service just tells them "too bad, so sad" cause they know their digital artists have nowhere else to go. before im forced into buying a new pen does anyone know of any alternative options? even if you've got a different tablet or brand entirely to recommend, i don't even care. wacom is just on my last nerve rn.
