Nepantla is an Austin based artist collective. The name means the space in between, representing a fluidity of culture and identity and place, as well as a conflict within the different spaces. The Nepantla Gallery uses clothing with proud and bold declarations of “Chinga Tu Muro”, “Chinga Tu Migra”, “Stay Trucha”, and “No Mames” as an act of resistance and defiance to the current political climate. They strive to reflect the diversity of Austin through collaborations with printmakers, designers, and visual artists. Their newest shirts, “Chinga Tu Migra” is giving all of the profits to RAICES (The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services) to help reunite parents with their children.
Claudia Aparicio-Gamundi and Francisco Garcia are the Gallery’s two co-founders. Claudia is a graphic designer, and is involved in the Puro Chingon Collective, is a part of the board of directors for Design ranch, and creates music with  Chulita Vinyl Club and Mosaico X. Francisco Garcia has extensive experience collaborating with nonprofit organizations, film festivals, and art exhibits, and enjoys working with film and the arts.
