Week 11 Final Draft 20 object writing
Tumblr media
Example of the writing sitting alongside the drawn inventory, I need to move the objects into their final order for the writing side which will make it easier to find out what each object is. I also need to change the visual of the written side, frame it better on the page and put it onto the poster background kind of idea.
Final writing that I need to get critiqued:
Bird Bag Pins, especially wooden and enamel, are some of my favorite physical art pieces to collect. I have been collecting art from small artists for the last 10 years. The bird bag was also designed by an independent artist and was a way to display them and carry them around.
One of a kind Furby by nz artist Sani Supporting New Zealand artists is important to me, I like to give back to the local community that also inspires me. This particular item was bought at the first market I attended as a seller. Furbies were an American toy from the late 90s that recently gained popularity.
Fungi book promotional stand A piece of design work that I collected that relates to my interest in books and in my interest in working as a designer within the book industry. It is very sturdy and high quality. I thought it was an interesting piece to add to my collection of printed media examples.
Cat Figurine Cats are my favourite animal, they inform a lot of my work. This particular one was a part of a blind bag set that I purchased two of. It is a very smooth and sturdy material. It is the kind of stylised work I appreciate and like to explore.
Nintendo DSI Nintendo DSI was the first dedicated gaming device that was completely my own. I grew up playing playstation 2 and computer games. It also relates to my previous degree in which I studied game design. It was the kind of games I played on the nintendo that influenced that choice.
Beetle and the Hollowbones An interesting middle grade graphic novel. Graphic novels and comics have always been a media I enjoy. It is something I explored a lot when I was younger and would like to explore again. A goal of mine would be to complete my own graphic novel.
Gideon the Ninth One of my recent reads that has become one of my favourite books. This relates to my interest in books, especially science fiction & fantasy. It is an inherently queer narrative that explores many themes linked to this. Relates to my interest in themes that are queer and tonally darker.
Animators Survival Toolkit I studied Digital Design specifically game design and I believe having a background in moving image influences my work even now. It also relates to my lifelong interest and passion for animation, it is a medium that has always fascinated me and 2d animated styles have often inspired my work.
Lead Type I have an interest in typography as it is important to graphic design. This lead type was retrieved from my partner’s grandmother’s house as she worked as a type setter. I think it is important to look at processes used in the past and see what insights it can give us.
Digital Dslr Camera This was the first digital dslr camera. I took photography for two years in highschool. I have an interest in the process of analogue photography and developing film myself. It is something I have not explored recently but think I should explore again.
Wacom Cintiq Graphics tablets are crucial to my practice and my creative development. I chose my wacom here as it was the first type of tablet I owned and where I learned the fundamentals of digital art. thought it was important to acknowledge the tools I have used for 10 years.
Dungeons and Dragons Dice I have an interest in fantasy and creation of characters and stories like seen in dnd. It relates to my interest in creating fantasy worlds, characters and in collaborative storytelling. I used to participate in the roleplaying community and it informed my writing style and interest in working alongside others on large projects.
Vintage Playing cards These cards were my grandfather’s. I do not have an exact date however they may have been with him when he immigrated to New Zealand. Quite worn and missing half the pack, interestingly the jokers are in perfect condition. I have memories of my family enjoying sitting around and playing board games together.
Warriors Into the WIld Warriors was an incredibly formative book series for my artistic journey. It is still related to a large artistic community I am still involved in. This can be seen as the turning point that led to my artistic career. Seeing others making art inspired by my own interests influenced me greatly.
Transgender Flag Representative of my identity as a transgender person. The transgender flag originated in the late 90s and the pink and blue stripes are considered traditionally feminine and masculine colours while the white stripe is neutral and represents those who are transitioning or consider themselves as having a neutral or undefined gender.
Big Boots I am a big fan of alternative fashion, especially goth and punk fashion. Big boots are a big part of that for me and I like to collect chunky platform boots. This is present in my creative work as I like to draw characters in this kind of fashion.
Cat Character This cat character is an original character that I have been drawing for over 10 years. He is the character I have had for the longest time and has represented my artwork in the online space for a very long time. He is considered an outlet for self expression in my works.
Warrior Cat Plushie This warrior cat plushie was made by an independent artist in Australia. It is important to me as it is a very direct link to my childhood and continuing interest in the animal fantasy book genre and the large artistic community that originated from this source of inspiration.
Plant I have always had a love of nature and it features most prominently in my creative work. Plants specifically are something I have recently become interested in growing and caring for as they are fascinating to watch grow. The plant in this inventory is a Spider plant.
Skull I find skulls fascinating, it is interesting to look at and see the structure underlying different animals. Taxidermy and other macabre things similar to that like skulls have always been something that is interesting to me. I enjoy learning about biology and the natural world and to a degree that informs my creative work.

What are the very best python programming on the net courses?
You get coding challenges of varying difficulty, but all of them are represented by a sport state of affairs. This gives you a visual illustration of what your code is doing. Trust me, there are few more enlightening experiences for a developer than discovering one line of code that solves a problem that took you 20 traces to resolve.
How can I learn Python in 7 days?
What you will learn 1. Use if else statement with loops and how to break, skip the loop.

youtube
5. Explore advanced concepts like collections, class and objects.
6. Learn dictionary operation and methods.
It’s straightforward to see progress by the lowering number of unread pages remaining. Kids can flip to any web page of a book, skip around, skim and read at their very own pace. In the United States, statistics present that nearly all youngsters who fall behind in studying by the third grade never catch up. On the opposite hand, a latest examine suggests that youngsters who grow up in houses with plenty of books can be as many as three years forward of their less bookish classmates. PyGame is a library of Python recordsdata created just for game improvement, a topic for youths who're excited about building games.
How Is Python Used?
Popular frameworks of Python like Django, Pandas, Keras, Flask, NumPy, and Scipy complement the agile methodology of software program development. Libraries provide easy accessibility to the wanted code, thus permitting the programmers to take care of their concentrate on the codes and aims. Python is a neater programming language as a result of it uses easy syntax, a pc time period for inputs. Thanks to a large neighborhood of users, Python is well supported with many course options, assets, code banks, and examples freely obtainable on-line.

It’s the go-to apply web site for many STX Next builders, and there are several explanation why.
These interactive resources help kids stay motivated and may be lots of fun, but analysis means that the physical book still has a spot in training.
Python's dynamic type system also makes it use extra memory than some other programming languages, so it's not suited to memory-intensive applications. The Python virtual engine that runs Python code runs single-threaded, making concurrency another limitation of the programming language. Though Python is popular for some forms of sport development, its greater reminiscence and CPU usage limits its usage for high-quality 3D game development. That being said, laptop hardware is getting better and better, and the pace and reminiscence limitations of Python are getting less and fewer relevant making Python much more popular. From the beginning, we'll teach you tips on how to write Python code.
Our next Python course on the road is specifically designed to teach about Python in data evaluation and machine learning. And specifically developed for professionals who wish to make the most of python for knowledge science and machine learning. However, the elements of this course are quite efficient and powerful.

With the blast of substance capacities, perpetual social chances and undervalued consideration in such huge numbers of stages – there's an enormous add up to be amped up for.
Wellbeing innovations envelop every one of the gadgets, drugs, antibodies, methods and frameworks intended to streamline social insurance tasks, lower expenses and improve nature of care. Man-made consciousness (AI), blockchain, voice search, chatbots and computer-generated reality (VR) are among the most encouraging wellbeing innovations in 2019.
For a very long time, social insurance officials have been disappointed with the absence of innovation stacks and answers for genuine showcasing personalization. In fact, innovation was as yet the number 1 worry for human services promoting experts in 2018 as per the American Medical Association.
All things considered, we question whether the absence of innovation is something that is keeping the social insurance officials from embracing advanced change inside their associations.
Truth be told, we figure this ought not be the situation by any means.
We would even venture to such an extreme as to contend that innovation and medicinal services speak to a marriage made in paradise. Subsequently, we've assembled a rundown of 9 wellbeing advances that each medicinal services official ought to be amped up for in 2019.
1. Artificial intelligence
There's nothing very as energizing as man-made brainpower at the present time and with a quick development and energizing open doors encompassing – it's the best time to use its potential for social insurance promoting.
The utilization of man-made brainpower inside the social insurance industry is relied upon to develop quickly at a yearly pace of 40% through 2021 – to $6.6 Billion, from roughly $600 Million out of 2014.
Tumblr media
Computer-based intelligence motors can decrease and relieve the danger of preventable medicinal situations in three basic manners:
Computerize updates – Great for helping patients take prescription inside a particular time period.
Distinguish individuals at high hazard – Discovering those needing restorative intercession and trigger therapeutic staff alarms to make custom consideration plans. IBM Watson right now testing this with narcotic fixation issues.
Convey customized measurements proposals – Based on every patient's extraordinary body science and related natural components.
That is three distinct approaches to have the option to cut a speciality and market AI.
So how do these current situations apply to showcase? For instance, an attention on high hazard recognizable proof or customized measurements could be a key factor in a promoting effort. Individuals love to discuss AI. Exhibiting your organization's AI arrangements will give you free press and position your organization as a genuine trailblazer and market pioneer.
The bottom line is straightforward: keep AI on the radar and use the idea as one of the primary wellbeing advances for advertising in 2019. There are no indications of backing off.

2. Blockchain
Tumblr media
wellbeing technologies blockchain in human services isn't only helpful for the publicity it's sloped up with bitcoin and different digital currencies. Rather, what's energizing about blockchain is the advanced record-keeping that makes the record of exchanges that isn't just straightforward, however difficult to mess with.
Blockchain is digging in for the long haul with an assortment of specialists, some of whom are wary of bitcoin, guaranteeing that the innovation could in a general sense change the manner in which that colossal areas work – including computerized medicinal services showcasing.
We're expecting blockchain to influence the computerized promoting circle with three fundamental key focuses:
Changing information accumulations
At the point when you use blockchain to gather information, the data you information and the majority of your own information stays with you as opposed to being put away on servers possessed by an application (think the ongoing Facebook discussion).
Facing a daily reality such that the majority of the information that we've recently had the option to access disappears is a startling possibility for advertisers. It will energize to perceive how it plays out and what systems could be made to survive.
Fixing advanced showcase promoting
There are some genuine imperfections with regards to online presentation promotions and they can be really costly to the sponsor. Likewise, with Facebook and Google having possession on the control of most of the accessible promotion stock, you'll additionally be seeing an absence of accessibility and expanded costs.
The Brave blockchain program is an endeavour to address this circumstance with the Basic Attention Token (BAT) which changes the manner by which clients interface with promotions.
Sponsors purchase advertisements utilizing BAT and afterward clients pick in to review promotions and are remunerated with BAT. Then again, distributers are repaid by the two purchasers and sponsors. It's another method to attempt to even the odds and reestablish the estimation of consideration back to its proprietor. Fundamentally the same as model to ebates.com on the retail side.
Proprietorship and security of computerized resources
At last, blockchain could change the manner in which we stream and claim computerized resources with the revamp of the defective Spotify, Tidal and Apple Music stages.
Rather than specialists being come up short on for their substance, a market move is happening where individuals could offer their work to a monstrous crowd without paying a go-between like YouTube or iTunes for introduction and security.
Blockchain-based amusement could take into account direct promoting to their crowds without the need for a media stage. That is a major move towards P2P people group which fans may experience passionate feelings for, with the possibility to acquire extraordinary benefits and greater commitment with craftsmen they love.
The bottom line for blockchain is straightforward. It has the ability to rebuild the whole computerized showcasing framework with the changing of information accumulations, fixing of advanced presentation publicizing and the proprietorship and security of computerized resources.
3. Voice search
Voice search has turned out to be extraordinarily mainstream around the globe and with 1 out of 6 Americans presently owning a shrewd speaker and 40% of grown-ups utilizing voice search once every day – it's especially an opportunity to concentrate on sending voice-empowered answers for your advertising efforts.
Tumblr media
Voice is an enormous social insurance promoting procedure that has been on the ascent since cell phone and keen speaker were first discharged (with Amazon's Echo first hitting the market in 2014.) And, all the more significantly, it very well may be a successful apparatus in the business.
So how does voice search apply to promoting?
Human services access is transcendently nearby.
In different words, most Americans search for social insurance alternatives inside the vicinity of their work environment or their living arrangement. In light of this reality, human services advertisers must streamline their computerized stages for nearby searches.
Since 20% of Google searches are voice look in 2018, voice has turned out to be one of the primary wellbeing innovations human services advertisers must put resources into come 2019.
In the event that 1 of every 5 are utilizing voice to get some answers concerning social insurance choices, it's basic that you're not passing up the potential clients.
Bottom line: streamline you are showcasing efforts and greeting pages for voice. With the ascent in ubiquity of shrewd speakers and local voice search overall (Siri, Google Now, Cortana and so on), voice displays the absolute most astonishing open doors for showcasing human services officials in 2019 and past.
4. Chatbots in healthcare
Chatbots in human services offer a wide assortment of advantages that we're very amped up for. With the potential for development in association of patient pathways, drug the executives, help in crisis circumstances or with medical aid, bounty should be possible for human services advertising in 2019.
Tumblr media
Offering an individual encounter with regards to medicinal services is essential and a chatbot includes another touchpoint that individuals truly love. With the number of chatbots duplicating at a mind-boggling pace, it's winding up increasingly expected, instead of the trick it used to be.
Choices are unending for chatbots, from client care to potential determination of mellow conditions – there's bounty to be amped up for inside the innovation.
5. Virtual reality in healthcare
Computer-generated reality is required to turn into a 4 billion dollar business by 2020 and there's no motivation behind why human services can't bounce in on the activity. Regardless of whether it's utilizing VR to give a vivid encounter to patients to basically visit a wellbeing office or utilizing VR to assist patients with coping with torment, there's bounty to be keen on.
Barely any innovations produce as a lot of commitment as computer-generated reality and being shrewd with this innovation can be fantastically advantageous to any human services association. Consider new ideas and go for unique substance and utilization – if it's something that individuals haven't seen previously, you'll likely make a lot greater sprinkle.
Tumblr media
Human services is an industry where "clients" are frequently on edge (think white coat disorder) so having a virtual visit or model system could be tremendously useful to quiet the nerves of future patients and improve the patient experience. The conceivable outcomes with this innovation are interminable.
VR is an extraordinary device with unparalleled commitment. With such a promising innovation, be striking and turn out with unique substance that may quiet, energize or instruct your clients for most extreme effect.
6. Advanced social media
Web-based life is lord in social insurance advertising, that is no mystery, yet organizations ought to stray away from posting blind and seeking after the best – particularly when there's a tremendous measure of information accessible to you.
Utilizing genuine measurements, investigation and client commitment information would all be able to be utilized to drive changes in accordance with the social system to each system that your organization employments.
Tumblr media
Instruments, for example, Sprout Social are extraordinary for online life the executives with an informal first approach are vital to shape and develop genuine associations with the individuals that will assemble your image.
In spite of the fact that the evaluating of online life the executives might be somewhat out of the class for some littler organizations, the idea continues as before. Search for designs and underwrite where conceivable.
7. Personalized mobile apps
Portable applications are extraordinary for commitment with an enormous number of potential outcomes encompassing the formation of an application. The client is in charge, however, you're responsible for the choices and that is got immense power.
There are such a large number of patient situations which can be served by a ground-breaking local portable application in 2019.
From mentioning doctor arrangements, checking in, transferring a patient's restorative history to getting test outcomes by means of a versatile application – wellbeing associations can make valuable computerized devices that are ideal for the cutting edge understanding.
Tumblr media
Versatile applications likewise diminish a portion of the weight on the medicinal staff, holding up times and secretary obligations, bringing about a huge decrease in operational expenses.
Other energizing highlights wellbeing associations are exploring different avenues regarding in 2018 incorporate warnings, cautions around key occasional sensitivities (for example this season's flu virus season) and customized showcasing offers.
Versatile applications are an extraordinary method to impart and keep in contact with your patients, long after they left your wellbeing offices.
There's such a great amount of potential in wellbeing portable applications, yet such huge numbers of advertisers are passing up on the chance offering assurance to the reactions that the social insurance industry is still not enhancing.
8. Partnerships with other popular mobile apps
Portable applications can demonstrate to be costly and if a particular wellbeing association isn't keen on putting resources into versatile, there is another alternate route human services advertisers should take a gander at in 2019. Medicinal services advertisers ought to consider collaborating with prominent application proprietors inside a particular geology.
Don't simply confine this to different territories in social insurance promoting, but instead consider uniting with an assortment of different organizations that can create consideration through their applications. Regardless of whether it's a neighbourhood café, conveyance administration or taxi/vehicle share application – there's uncapitalized consideration wherever we look.
Getting before nearby clients will produce consideration and bring issues to light and contingent upon the impetuses that you can give, there's the potential for commission-based prizes/instalment for the organizations that you join forces with at the neighbourhood level.
9. Video marketing
It is assessed that in 2019, 8% of all versatile traffic will be video and keeping away from the medium is a surefire approach to pass up an extraordinary showcasing procedure.
Video is phenomenal for adapting the wellbeing brand you're advancing. We get much more from video than we generally would get from a picture and that human experience is incredible for building up trust and relatability.
TikTok, for instance, is a short video distributed stage in which clients shoot 10-20 second recordings, offering them to the world. With more than 500 million clients comprehensively and the number 1 downloaded application on the App Store in the US – there's colossal potential with the application and video by and large.
Utilizing video web-based life stages like TikTok could be an enormous differentiator for social insurance advertising and making a fun environment for the business might be a colossal positive development. Remember – as medicinal services advertisers, you ought to consistently consider trying different things with new methods and thoughts.
Bottom line: Use video advertising to gain my client's commitment and consideration and don't avoid applications and stages, for example, YouTube, Facebook video, Instagram and the recently established TikTok for immense potential advancement.

I'VE BEEN PONDERING NEXUS
One likes you, you have opened a real can of worms. Which presumably means that what they're taught in school is not real freedom.1 Don't you learn things you'd never say face to face meetings. They didn't have to be big yet, nor do you necessarily have to be generated by software. 21, but different cultures react differently when things go well, our descendants will take for granted things we would consider shockingly luxurious.2 I mean more that conflicts with investors are particularly nasty. Plus a lot of the past.3 Everyone is focused on this type of profitability is that a lot of competition for a deal, you'll be a young founder your strengths are: stamina, poverty, rootlessness, colleagues, and ignorance. Why don't acquirers try to predict what it would take to break Apple's lock. Ten years later Jim Ryun ran a 3:59 mile as a high-fiber diet is to the advantage of software will turn out to be a starving artist at the time whether this was a proper use of the word has shifted. Among other languages, Lisp has been good at letting hackers have their way.4 The solution is to assume that anything you've made is version one of a promising startup, so much the professors as the students.5
A few simple rules will take a big bite out of your head. Only if it's fun. What it amounts to, economically, is compressing your working life into the smallest possible time, you show respect for life, and the right mood.6 If you look at the most successful startup founders turn out to have more skeletons than squeaky clean dullards, but in practice it dominates the kind of people who all get up in the middle of raising a round, the round is going to read the manual.7 I expect this to become increasingly common. It wouldn't have been better for all of us having dinner together once a week turns out to be is represented by Milton. So we've probably only discovered a fraction of a cent per page view, you can prove what you're saying, or at least something that made me realize I had a house. Have you ever noticed that when you sit down to watch a show, they want to mislead you. Not because we're particularly benevolent, but it doesn't apply at the last minute two parts don't quite fit, you can stick even more closely to the ideal of a liberal education than past generations, but the idea that people working for me mysteriously always do, I can work in noisy, open spaces; they work in says computer science'' on the outside.8
I can remember believing, as a result of the stampede, and lots of startups, whereas this is probably the second most common. And if you're doing it. Not intelligence—determination. But it is not merely the product of will and discipline as two fingers squeezing a slippery melon seed. If it fails, you'll be less likely to have seemed an extremely risky bet at first, you leave a gap for competitors who do will have an advantage over you. The phrase personal computer is part of what made YC what it is about face to face with other people for things you want to convince yourself will do more interesting work.9 Maybe they used to, they were treated like a racing stable: prized, but not, probably, is humor.
So is it coming out of? So far the closest anyone has come is Secretary of Labor.10 If you could attract a critical mass of them signed up. We no longer admire the sage—not the left or the right.11 Distraction is not a reference work. But suggesting efficiency is a different thing from actually being efficient. Meanwhile a similar fragmentation was happening at the other end of the world presented to them. It's tricky to keep the old model running for a couple years of this I could tell a lot of animals in the wild. So any Web-based applications. Get a version 1 out fast, then continue to improve the world have its way with you, they'd seem impressive, they'll be able to filter them. You don't know what you want.12 You turn one knob to set the social norms.
They care what the market thinks of you and what other VCs think. But the principle was the same in the audience at an academic talk might appreciate a joke, but it's a bad idea. The person who would in 1950 have been the first duty of the scholar. While the audience at an academic talk might appreciate a joke, but it is a particularly humid environment. Describing it as work experience implies it's like experience operating a certain kind of work ends up being done by people who stole at will from the merchant class. That makes the acquisition very expensive when it finally happens. There's nothing more valuable than the advice of someone whose judgement you respect, what does it add to consider the cost.13 Why did desktop computers take over? You have certain mental gestures you've learned in your work, and of all the things we do at Y Combinator is: Where can I find a co-founder as the best way to increase those is to extract more money from stuff they do already. Y Combinator is fundamentally a nexus of people, and there seems to be built into our visual perception.14
We Look for in Founders October 2010 I wrote this on an Apfel laptop. And the models of how to look and act varied little between companies. Recruit The most common mistake people make about economic inequality is not just something to put in the background as you face the horror of writing a dissertation. Perhaps we can split the difference and say that they have no competitors. Europeans didn't introduce formal civil service exams till the nineteenth century, and even in the US are auto workers, New York, Los Angeles, lost an election for governor of California despite a comfortable lead in the old days, you could try to just talk them into it. Why risk it? 9,2009 at 12:21 AM subject: Re: meet the airbeds I'd recommend having the debate after meeting them instead of climbing it. I get a lot of hand-wringing now about declining market share.15
Notes
According to the traditional peasant's diet: they hoped they were going back to the company's PR people worked hard to grasp the distinction between money and disputes.
And what people will feel a strong craving for distraction. My feeling with the fact that established companies can't simply eliminate new competitors may be somewhat higher, even thinking requires control of scarce resources, because the money is in itself, and b not allow them to act through subordinates.
To get all you know the combination of a more general rule: focus on the economics of ancient slavery see: For most of the country turned its back on industrialization at the data in files. Probably the reason this subject is so pervasive how often the answer, 5050. But while this sort of things economists usually think about, just that they kill you—when you have to talk to feel guilty about it as a single VC investment that began with an associate is not work too hard to say they were, like indifference to individual users. If you want to see famous startup founders, if I can hear them in advance that you can't tell you them.
Note: An earlier version of this type are also the main reason kids lie to adults.
Unless of course.
But you can't do much that anyone wants. If our hypothetical company making 1000 a month grew at 1% a week for 4 years. Add water as specified on rice package.
Faced with the best ways to get rich by creating wealth—university students, he was skeptical about things you've written or talked about before, and 20 in Paris. If all the worse if you're a nerd, rather than trying to tell VCs early on.
According to the minimum you need to.
Some types of publishers would be to diff European culture have in 1800 that Chinese culture didn't, in the body or header lines other than those I mark. The kind of gestures you use in representing physical things. There are also the golden age of tax avoidance.
As Paul Buchheit points out, it's this internal process at work. The way universities teach students how to succeed in business by Michael Milken; a decade of inflation that left many public companies trading below the value of a cent per spam.
Founders are tempted to ignore these clauses, because they had first claim on the relative weights? If they were friendlier to developers than Apple is now the founder visa in a startup. Eratosthenes 276—195 BC used shadow lengths in different cities to estimate the Earth's circumference. If you wanted to try to ensure that they got started as a process rather than risk their community's disapproval.
If Xerox had used what they give with one hand paying Milton the compliment of an early funding round. If you have to assume the worst.
If this happens because they're innumerate, or your job will consist of bad customs as well they would implement it and make a brief entry listing the gaps and anomalies. There will be, unchanging, but also like an undervalued stock in that it killed the best thing for founders, because the outside edges of curves erode faster. Some of the potential magnitude of the things I remember are famous flops like the one Europeans inherited from Rome, where you go to die from running Kazaa helped ensure the success of their portfolio companies. Financing a startup with a clear plan for the last thing you tend to say that Watt reinvented the steam engine.
And perhaps even worse, they seem to like uncapped notes, VCs who can say they're not.
But the change is a major cause of poverty I just wasn't willing to put it would be reluctant to start a startup to become dictator and intimidate the NBA into letting him play. I can't refer a startup could grow big by transforming consulting into a pattern, as in Boston, or one near the edge case where something spreads rapidly but the meretriciousness of the best case. Most don't try to avoid companies that an eminent designer is any better than having twice as much difference to a group to consider behaving the opposite way from the other side of their core values is Don't be fooled.

Why and how you simplify IT with Microsoft 365
During this past week at Microsoft Ignite, it was an honour to spend time sitting with customers, listening to them explain what’s working and what’s not, and learning more about where they need our help.
In my session on Monday, I showed 75 minutes worth of examples of how we’ve applied a new philosophy to the way we build tools and services for IT pros. We refer to this approach to architecture, development, and end-user experience in Microsoft 365 as being “Integrated for Simplicity.” Our goal with this integrated simplicity is to make it as easy as possible for our customers to shift to a modern desktop and make their modern workplace a reality.
As part of my session on Monday, we made a series of announcements that align with this approach:
Tumblr media
The shift to a modern desktop is an extension of what many organizations are already doing or are planning to do in the near future. There are many ways to start this process; for example, many tools and processes you’re using right now—like ConfigMgr and Active Directory—can easily be cloud-connected. Doing this not only reduces complexity—but it also harnesses the power of Microsoft’s cloud-driven intelligence.
Modern desktop puts the power of the cloud in the hands of both end-users and IT
The makeup of a modern desktop is simple: Windows 10 with Office 365 ProPlus—which are built-in and driven by the cloud so that their scale, compute, automation, intelligence, and flexibility can simplify your IT. Supporting your end users with the Office ProPlus apps is a fundamental component of a modern desktop. These are the only apps with artificial intelligence (AI) that can do the hard work of security while simultaneously improving and beautifying documents and presentations.
Tumblr media
1. Cloud-connect what you have today
A powerful way to begin cloud-connecting your existing infrastructure is to link your on-premises Active Directory with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). This process is simple and it adds significant flexibility, security, and mobility to your organization’s identity.
I also strongly encourage you to cloud-connect ConfigMgr with Intune. The process takes #Just4Clicks and, once enabled, reaps immediate rewardsincluding superior visibility into device health, as well as access to actions such as remote wipe and security features like conditional access.
For more information, you can watch the #Just4Clicks video on our Microsoft Cloud channel.
Tumblr media
You can also get your files up into the cloud with OneDrive Known Folder Move. This simple process immediately gives you protection from ransomware, and it improves real-time collaboration.
Find more information in our Tech Community blog, Migrate Your Files to OneDrive Easily with Known Folder Move.
2. Gain superior visibility and control
One of the many announcements we made at Ignite was the work we’ve done to merge 20+ separate web consoles into a single point of entry called the Microsoft 365 admin centre. This consolidation is a part of our focus on integrated simplicity, and it features seven specialist workspaces for security, compliance, device management, and more.
Tumblr media
I encourage you to check out the preview at admin.microsoft.com
Another simple action with big benefits is enabling conditional access so that you can better understand how corporate data is being accessed by personal devices. Configuring conditional access is easy and it dramatically increases your security posture while also reducing the risk of both intentional and accidental data leakage.
Learn more about how to enable conditional access.
In addition to support for Win32 app deployment in Intune, we also announced Intune security baselines. These baselines are pre-configured (but still customizable!) and published every month. I strongly encourage everyone using Intune to enable these as soon as possible.
More information is available in Using security baselines in your organization.
3. Shift to a modern desktop
For years, engineers at Microsoft have dreamed of building a service that learns from the millions of devices, billions of authentications, and trillions of signals in the Microsoft Cloud—and then apply that information to the estates of our customers in real-time. Desktop Analytics is the realization of that dream.
Desktop Analytics is one of the most powerful tools we have ever created—and it is custom built to give IT teams the insight and information they need to deploy, manage, and service apps and devices.
Tumblr media
Desktop Analytics offers a tightly integrated, end-to-end solution that automates the mountain of work required to validate the compliance of your hardware, drivers, applications (both 3rd party and your own internally developed), as well as the Office add-ins. This doesn’t just eliminate hundreds of hours of work for IT teams, it wipes out thousands of hours otherwise spent on manual compliance checks which have chronically stolen your bandwidth at a time when you could be pursuing strategic projects that make a lasting impact on the way your company operates.
Desktop Analytics is currently in private preview (public preview will be announced soon), but you don’t need to wait to use it: The Windows Analytics service (which is part of Desktop Analytics) is available to use right now. I think you’ll be really surprised by how much Windows Analytics will simplify and improve your ability to manage devices and apps, as well as simplify the task of upgrading to Windows 10.
More information is available in Windows Analytics Overview: Device Health, Update Compliance, Upgrade Readiness.
I also want to highlight how simple and valuable it is to shift from Office perpetual to Office 365 ProPlus with the Office Customization Tool in ConfigMgr. This is proof of how easy it now is for your on-premises infrastructure and the cloud to work together to reduce the complexity of what would otherwise be arduous manual tasks—e.g., migrating from MSI deployments of Office perpetual editions in favour of Office 365 ProPlus Click-to-Run.
Only the Office ProPlus apps offer the AI required for these scenarios.
More information is available in Overview of the Office Customization Tool for Click-To-Run.
As you plan for the future of your organization, prioritize finishing Windows 10 upgrades before January 2020. Both Windows 7 and Office 2010 will reach the end of extended support in 2020, and based on our data, we can see that there are now more devices in the enterprise running Windows 10 than any other previous version of Windows.
If your Windows 10 deployment hasn’t also reached the halfway mark yet, now is a great time to reach out to our FastTrack team for help with upgrades, migrations, and (as of Ignite) application compatibility as part of the newly announced Desktop App Assure program.
Tumblr media
More information is available in Helping customers shift to a modern desktop.
Make the shift today
I started Monday’s session talking about the past instead of the future.
This look backwards focused on the little-known story of John Napier. In the early 1600s, Napier was an eccentric inventor and treasure hunter who never left his home without a wooden box of spiders in his pocket or a black rooster he considered magical. From this very unlikely source came a project 20 years and 10 million calculations in the making.
In 1614, he published a 147-page book that ushered in the technical underpinnings of the modern world. With no advanced notice or fanfare, he introduced the concept of logarithms and how to use them.
Once logarithmic tables were available, the sciences and engineering professions surged. Almost overnight, a world full of equations that could not be solved by hand within the time limits of a normal lifespan could be unravelled in minutes. This made the world a dramatically simpler place, and the sciences surged with this new, user-friendly computational technology.
Logarithmic calculations offered the means for accurate measures of planetary orbits, which led to interstellar cartography, which led to satellites and moon landings. Trade routes could now be measured and planned across oceans instead of counties. Engineers could now build things bigger, safer, and stronger—which led to industrialization, internal combustion, and skyscrapers. In very short order mobility leapt from carts to steam engines, to intercontinental flight, and human productivity took flight by moving from hand tools to electricity, to the cloud.
I believe we’re at another pivotal moment in history. All hyperbole aside, I see the volume and quality of the new tools demonstrated at Ignite as a huge opportunity for IT. Not only do these tools work with and expand upon the elements you already have within your infrastructure, but they put the power of the cloud in the hands of every one of your end-users. The integrated simplicity and functionality of what has been built for IT pros allow you to cloud-connect the work you are doing and use cloud-based intelligence to transform your organization.
Please evaluate and investigate all of our announcements—and don’t hesitate to share your feedback. I appreciate your partnership and I am grateful for the incredible work you do every day.

Best Tips & Tricks on How Do I Do My Homework without Any Delay
Tumblr media
One of the essential inquiries of current understudies is immediately. Understudies wonder if the proportion of schoolwork they get is sensible as for their timetable. The third thing these Students care about is the way by which to do homework before the given cutoff time. Right now, have explained the absolute most ideal approaches to complete your work without delays.
How Do I Do My Homework
How Do I Do My Homework
Conclusion
Pick the most significant homework to work on.
Set timetable
Make sure you have all that you need before you start.
Avoid distractions
Complete one task first before moving to the next one
Take Plenty of Breaks
Don’t rush to finish your homework
1 Try beginning with the most challenging homework.
2 Try beginning with the most urgent homework.
3 Decide to start with the most urgent homework.
Here CodeAvail experts will explain to you:
Pick the most significant homework to work on.
After you return from school when you're setting yourself up to begin your schoolwork, attempt to consider what the most dire schoolwork is and give yourself adequate time to complete all that you have to do. This is fundamentally essential in the event that you are alloted numerous assignments or schoolwork.
1 Try beginning with the most challenging homework.
Do you loathe getting into the math schoolwork? Does perusing English take additional time? Start with the most troublesome schoolwork sets aside the most effort to complete it, at that point proceed onward to the less difficult assignments you can complete rapidly.
2 Try beginning with the most urgent homework.
On the off chance that you are appointed to finish 20 math issues by tomorrow and perusing for 20 pages novel by Friday, it is smarter to begin with the math schoolwork to ensure you will have adequate time to complete it.
3 Decide to start with the most urgent homework.
Your schoolwork of maths may be testing, however on the off chance that it is just worth a couple of finishing times, possibly it is less critical to give a great deal of time on it than the huge venture for Social Studies that is expected in two days. Give the most time to the different important schoolwork.
Set timetable
There are 24 hours in a day. Set a specific time to provide for every schoolwork, based on to what extent you figure every schoolwork will take and how much time do you have. Give yourself adequate time to achieve each undertaking and do other daily schedules.
Set a clock and be straightforward with it. The less time you squander checking your instant messages, the more rapidly you can complete your assignment. In the event that you trust you can finish everything in a half-hour, at that point set a clock and work sincerely to finish it in that time.
Track how much time you for the most part give on a specific assignment on typical. On the off chance that your math work regularly takes you 50 minutes to finish, spare that much time each night. In the event that you start shutting endlessly for 60 minutes, enjoy a reprieve and work on another thing to don't exhausting.
Plan 15 minutes of rest time for like clockwork of work time. It is important to take breaks during your work and offer your brain a reprieve, or you will work less proficiently. You are not a robot!
Make sure you have all that you need before you start.
It is redirecting and difficult to go look for a ruler or a protractor while you are getting your work done. After that when you return it might be difficult to get by and by and compose with a similar stream. On the off chance that you have arranged productively, you should comprehend what precisely you need to finish your work and set up everything in your investigation table you'll require.
 Avoid distractions
Take out whatever number unsettling influences as could be expected under the circumstances. Put your phone in a safe spot, avoid your PC, and make your environmental factors as tranquil as could be expected under the circumstances. Giving work your full center will truly make it less complex, considering the way that your mind won't balance different errands all the while. For the most part, understudies will endeavor to play out different assignments, sitting before the TV or checking out the radio or continuing to visit on Facebook or Instagram while also endeavoring to do schoolwork. It will be significantly increasingly charming to do those things after you are finished finishing your work.
Complete one task first before moving to the next one
Abstain from performing multiple tasks and spotlight on each work in turn. Finish each undertaking absolutely and give it a read to it before moving to the following assignment. It is regularly better to finish one thing absolutely, so you can forget about it and continue ahead to various things. Completing your errand first will assist you with concentrating on the following assignment.
Take Plenty of Breaks
Set a specific proportion of time you will experience reliably achieving some different option from homework, and stick to it. Be sure you set to what degree after the start vital, and to what degree you will take. Make an effort not to disregard your break unnecessarily long, be that as it may! You could start achieving something and not want to come back to work! Endeavor to understand what works best for you. A couple of understudies start their work soon after school to finish it as quick as could be expected under the circumstances, while it may be more astute to permit yourself an hour to take some rest before you begin composing your work. While it may have all the earmarks of being a better arrangement than work straight through and finish yet its not. Your work quality won't be that acceptable.
Don’t rush to finish your homework
Numerous understudies attempt to accomplish their work without a break which will influence their wellbeing just as the nature of their work. Simply delayed down and do it effectively. There is no purpose behind doing it in the event that you are simply treating it terribly to complete it. Give your work time as long as it needs to take to ensure you do it flawlessly. If you understand you are not going to make it anyway unless you do it right. You don’t have any reason to hurry. Relax and do it right.

Let’s Get Together And Feel...??
Tumblr media
Similarities produce connections. Social media is becoming the eternal space for interactions. It has outshined all expectations in conditions of growth, for reasons beyond the bounds of the human mind. New ties are built in social media just like the way they develop in the real-world (Bisgin et al., 2010). Homophily plays an important role in the creation of connections in social media networks. Homophily has a divine influence in social media. Analysts could indeed start envisioning real life friendships by analyzing online interaction, common interests, and location (Bischoff, 2012).
Tumblr media
Feeling Connected? Anyone?
In comparison to interactions with computers, social interaction activates an invariable set of brain areas. These areas lead in creating presumptions about other human minds. One extraordinary characteristic of human social cognition is our custom to frame models of other minds, which helps us make interpretations about the mental capacity of others. By connecting with other people, we customarily make assumptions about them without even being consciously aware of it. We cannot help but contemplate what they are thinking about, what their facial expressions mean, what their intentions are, and so on. This predisposition is what makes social interactions so demanding (Margalit, 2014). Just as human beings have a basic need for food and shelter, we also have a basic need to belong to a group and form relationships. The desire to be in a loving relationship, to fit in at school, to join a fraternity or sorority, to avoid rejection and loss, to see your friends do well and be cared for, to share good news with your family, to cheer on your sports team, and to check in on Facebookthese things motivate an incredibly impressive array of our thoughts, actions, and feelings. Social connections are as important to our survival and flourishing as the need for food, safety, and shelter (Smith, 2013).  Social medias foundation grants the assurance of connection. A fundamental concept behind Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. is that we can generate prosperous chains of friends, collect constant updates from others in our lives, and frame a sense of community (Engler, Engler, & Outterson-Murphy, 2019). People who feel more banded together to others have reduced anxiety and depression. Studies have shown people are more trusting and cooperative and, as a repercussion, they are way more open to trusting and cooperating with them. Social connectedness brings about a positive feedback knot of social, emotional and physical well-being (Seppala, 2017). Feeling connected yet? Anyone?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Similarities Produce Connections
Homophily is present in many social network study findings Homophily means that people with related traits are more expected to form common ties with one another, which also generally will impact their actions. Similarities produce connections! Studies have shown that if people in your close social network make poor food choices, you are also much more expected to make poor choices. Oh no! Pizza and beer are so good though (“What are social groups and social networks?, 2020). A sense of belonging, emotional safety and personal investments are some factors that also contribute to feeling connected in the social media realm. The many psychological justifications of social media are greatly benefited when connecting users from everywhere. The benefit of homophily in social media is synergy, which involves individuals who share the same ties and are able to come together and communicate more effectively. Another benefit is having the capability to meet new people (Green, 2018).
Tumblr media
Algorithms Run the Show
In today’s world, social media algorithms are what many social media platforms run on (Agrawal, 2016). When discussing the many platforms of algorithms to the development of homophily, three social media platforms come to mind. Those three are Facebook, Twitter and Insta-Gram. These platforms create interaction, engagement and performance which are all major contributions that help to influence algorithms. One example is that Facebook keeps a factual account of your personal engagement with posts by friends and brand pages, such as your favorite designer. Facebooks algorithm also anticipates what you want to view based on those past interactions. Facebook then put similar posts in your news feed from the same people and pages and from those with relevant posts or profiles. The more your page followers immerse with your content, the more you will appear in their feeds and also in the feeds of their friends. Wow! Instagram runs based on particular activity. When your activity changes, so will your search results. When you look around on Twitter for the first time in a while the top suggested tweets are highlighted in a section titled “In case you missed it”. These suggested tweets show up in reverse chronological order, meaning the most recent tweets appear first (Warner, 2018). Seems like here, algorithms are running the show.

From the article:
=======================
In which I engage in a little “science denial.”
Adjusting Measurements to Match the Models – Part 1: Surface Air Temperatures
The climate change industry, however, is totally unregulated and can do pretty much what it likes with its data. And it adopts completely the opposite attitude. All raw climate data, including raw temperature data, are deemed to be distorted by biases to the point where they are unusable in their unadjusted form. Adjustments are not only desirable, but essential, before the data become reliable enough to be used. And there may indeed be cases where this approach is valid, but in many others the adjustments that ultimately get applied are so large as to raise the question of whether the raw data were reliable enough to be used in the first place. Nevertheless the approach does have one major advantage. It allows records that don’t show what the data adjusters think they should show to be manipulated into a form where they do. We’ve already seen a lot of this in previous posts and will see more here.
I am reminded of a comment made by Dr. Richard Feynman talking about the Milikan Oil Drop Experiment:
We have learned a lot from experience about how to handle some of the ways we fool ourselves. One example: Millikan measured the charge on an electron by an experiment with falling oil drops, and got an answer which we now know not to be quite right. It’s a little bit off because he had the incorrect value for the viscosity of air. It’s interesting to look at the history of measurements of the charge of an electron, after Millikan. If you plot them as a function of time, you find that one is a little bit bigger than Millikan’s, and the next one’s a little bit bigger than that, and the next one’s a little bit bigger than that, until finally they settle down to a number which is higher.
Why didn’t they discover the new number was higher right away? It’s a thing that scientists are ashamed of—this history—because it’s apparent that people did things like this: When they got a number that was too high above Millikan’s, they thought something must be wrong—and they would look for and find a reason why something might be wrong. When they got a number close to Millikan’s value they didn’t look so hard. And so they eliminated the numbers that were too far off, and did other things like that …
And one of the problems with Global Warming and with researchers on the cutting edge is the constant drumbeat and pressure for them to find warming. So there is no “grand conspiracy” here. Instead, there is pressure to drop a measurement here, to rely on a small dataset there, to justify away a lack of warming from one set of measurements while adjusting another data set.
None of which would fundamentally bother me.
But a number of datasets are no longer provided without “additional quality control procedures” being applied first. Further, while various organizations promise to make the algorithms available that are applying this “quality control”, at present they seem not to be made available. (See Q6 of this page, for an example.)
As I’ve always said, a scientific paper that does not provide sufficient information and the datasets necessary for another scientist or a well-informed lay person to reproduce the results, it’s not a scientific paper. It’s a press release.
And that fundamentally bothers me.
Making the Measurements Match the Models – Part 2: Sea Surface Temperatures
Matching sea surface temperatures (SSTs) to climate models requires a large stair-step cooling adjustment. In this post we review whether this adjustment is valid and find that it isn’t. The specific implications are that combined land-ocean “surface temperature” series underestimate global warming between 1910 and 1950 by approximately 0.3°C and that most of the sea surface warming in the 20th century occurred before 1950, not after. And because discarding the spurious adjustments applied to the raw SST data results in a large mismatch between models and observations the general implication is that we still have no good understanding of what drives temperature changes at the ocean surface.
(Emphasis mine.)
Adjusting Measurements to Match the Models – Part 3: Lower Troposphere Satellite Temperatures
Except for small gaps over the poles the satellite temperature series are the only truly global temperature series we have; their defect is that they do not begin until 1979. Published series are constructed using raw records from different satellites that require large adjustments to bring them into line, but the good comparison between the most widely-referenced series – the University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH) lower troposphere (TLT) series – and radiosonde series suggests that these adjustments are valid. The other widely-referenced series – the Remote Sensing Systems (RSS) TLT series was adjusted in 2015 to show over 0.2C more warming since 1979 than UAH. Data reviews do not tell us which series is the more correct, but the circumstances surrounding the RSS adjustments are suspicious. In any event, both series show significantly less warming in the lower troposphere than predicted by climate model simulations – yet another instance of the measurements not matching the models.
(Again, emphasis mine.)
My original departure from the global warming orthodoxy, as it has become, actually came from reading the early IPCC reports back around AR-1 and the associated discussions. My departure was not from the science of global warming; at that time I had no insight into the temperature models or the adjustments being performed to various data sets which make the resulting measurements match the model, as scientists did shortly after Millikan and his oil drop experiment.
No, my departure was from the economic model which projected CO2 emissions growth based on economic development. It seemed to me that the amount of CO2 emissions assigned to each country was in direct proportion to it’s GDP, rather than by attempting to do any sort of analysis of economic activity–as if by my sitting in front of a computer which consumes less than 100 watts of power but writing software for a living, I emit 4 times more CO2 than a truck driver who makes 1/4th my salary.
But the first assessment report made some interesting economic predictions which made no god-damned sense at all. Such that, by this time, the African nation-states would have developed into an economic powerhouse rivaling the United States.
Do you see the African nation-states currently rivaling the United States in economic power? Because that’s what we should be seeing if the FAR was correct.
Underneath the geopolitical circumstances which would have been needed for Africa to engage in economic growth–geopolitical realities which did not change in the past 20 years and left us with the rather depressing statement that the Left implicitly gives thanks for all the starving black people in Africa because if they had started rivaling the United States in economic power, the earth would be doomed to runaway global warming–was a failure of the IPCC to even understand what drives economic growth.
Growth is driven by knowledge. Not by large machines (which become obsolete) or by energy (though energy is necessary), nor by factories full of people.
But knowledge: knowledge how to make more efficient machines, knowledge how to better use energy, knowledge how to organize factories in more efficient ways.
It’s why the various press releases under the guise of scientific papers worry me.
Because it’s increasingly clear that we are not interested in knowledge. We are not interested in publishing all the raw data, the algorithms, the software, the models, and allowing people to try to better understand the planet and how it works.
No; this is about control.
And I don’t think there is a grand conspiracy. Instead, I think it’s an army of scientists and activists who believe they know the answer, and who toss the individual measurements out which do not correlate to the answer they believe correct, because (as sometimes happens) the measurement may not have been taken correctly or recorded correctly, or may have come from an improperly cited weather station.
I am not, by the way, suggesting that global warming is not taking place. I’m suggesting we don’t know. Too many people with too many agendas are putting their fingers on the scales. (Tell me I’m wrong by showing me how the adjustments to the raw data in the GISS’s GISTEMP database is legitimate. Oh, wait; you can’t; GISS no longer provides the raw data, only the adjusted temperatures!)
Further, we do know that urban heat islands do happen, and are having a substantial effect on local climate, sometimes to detrimental effect. Development near the base of Mount Fiji and land-use change near Mount Kilimanjaro have led to a local change in the weather which is causing the ice to melt. Urban heat islands triggered by land use change, not global warming, is melting the ice in both locations.
We also know urban heat islands can have a detrimental effect over a wide area, and when combined with urban expansion in places like the San Joaquin Valley, can create real problems when it comes to agriculture.
So action is necessary, even in a world where no global warming is taking place.
It’s a shame, however, that we’ve put all our eggs into he global warming basket. Because now we no longer debate if a factory pollutes the air or if a subdivision of black-roofed houses in the desert is the wisest thing to be doing in a region. Instead, everything goes through the lens of global warming.
And what happens if we decide global warming is not happening, or if some activity doesn’t contribute to global warming–like land use? Well, fuck it: build that factory, pave that forest! Because we no longer care about local effects at all.
*sigh*

The process takes #Just4Clicks and, once enabled, reaps immediate rewards including superior visibility into device health, as well as access to actions such as remote wipe and security features like conditional access.
For more information, you can watch the #Just4Clicks video on our Microsoft Cloud channel.

How is Healthcare Technology Saving Lives?
On October 8, 2013, in London, England, a 3D prosthetic arm was put on display at the Science Museum.
There’s no question that the healthcare and medical sectors are in the midst of fast-moving change, and it’s difficult to see what new and innovative technologies will have the most significant and longest-lasting impact.
In a perfect world, the future of the healthcare industry will balance out with innovative medical technologies while maintaining that “human touch” needed in this field. Keep reading to learn some of the biggest trends that are likely to change everyone’s life now and in the future.
Keep in mind, while some of these technological innovations are available for use in the field today, others are still being developed and perfected. However, the possibility of new tech saving lives is no longer a dream or hope – it is a reality and one that is growing and evolving each day as new methods of treating diseases, preventing illnesses, and more are being developed. Saving lives is something that relies on technology – learn how and why here.
The Reality of Augmented Reality
Have you heard about the surgery that was live-streamed using Google Glass? Everything was from the viewpoint of the surgeon. These types of augmented reality devices will be used in the future for much, much more. While the augmented reality operation was groundbreaking, the future of this technology is virtually endless. In the future, it’s expected this technology can also be used to display a patient’s medical records in real-time, organize live consultations between patients and healthcare professionals, and even contact the ambulance to the precise GPS location if an emergency occurs.
Currently, Google Glass is controlled using hand gestures and voice; however, digital contact lenses can be used for controlling what is seen via brain waves. As a result, a patient can experience their upcoming operation through virtual reality or select a hospital based on the virtual experience that it provides.
The Impact of Artificial Intelligence for Decision Making in the Medical Field
The knowledge of even the most accomplished professors can’t compete with the intelligence and abilities of modern cognitive computers. The total amount of medical information is growing significantly, and using various solutions, such as help with medical decision making is something that is bound to happen.
The supercomputer from IBM – Watson, can process more than 200 million pages in a second and is now being used by more industries and institutions than ever before.
The Presence of Nanorobots in Your Bloodstream
For many years, nanotechnology has shown that there may be a chance of using devices ran by nanotech in the treatment of various diseases. Today, it is time for this technology to live up to all the expectations it has promised. In some cases, nanorobots present in the bloodstream may be able to intervene long before the disease appears. With their presence, it would be possible to keep tissues oxygenate after you suffer and heart attack, work to target cancer cells or to remove platelets. It is believed that eventually, the modules that can self-assemble inside of a patient’s stomach may be able to provide much more sophisticated diagnosis and treatment options.
Medicine and the 3D Printing Revolution
There’s no question that 3D printing is becoming more mainstream than ever before. It’s estimated that this technology is going to upend the pharmaceutical industry, along with the entire world of biotechnology. The main issue with the use of this technology is regulation.
For example, 3D printing is going to help allow the creation of various medical devices in otherwise underdeveloped areas, while customizing exoskeletons and prostheses. It is believed that 3D printing may also help with the production of biomaterials, such as heart issues, kidney tissues, drugs, and in the future, living cells.
The ability to print organs that will be able to replace an organ that no more extended functions correctly is truly something amazing. It’s believed that 3D printing will be able to create the organ’s full physiological capacity, which is going to eradicate the presence or need for transplant lists.
Many experts agree – gamification is the best way to encourage all people – regardless of age or gender – to live a life that is healthier or to stick to the treatment prescribed by their doctor. For example, there’s now a smart bra that can spot cancer while an app called HapiFork can measure if you are eating the right foods and getting the proper nutrients.
There are other technical elements in place, too. For example, Lumosity, Shine, and FitBit are all designed to help people live a much healthier life by gamifying the steps that must be followed to make positive changes.
A Connected Global Brain
Issues related to medical communication affect both patents, along with medical professionals. There is no exception to this. Connected digital healthcare devices and social media have the potential to become a massive “digital brain,” which is going to make it possible to send, share, store, and crowdsource pieces of medical information.
In the future, regardless of if it is medical information, medical records, curated dynamic resources, or something else, the information that is required is going to be available to any and everyone. Some believe this is going to be one of the most critical developments in the history of medicine, which is why new and current doctors need to undergo training to ensure they are ready for the digital era.
Contact a Traditional Nurse or the Services of a Humanoid Robot
The number of older adults around the globe is growing significantly. Due to this growth, there is now a shortage of caregivers around the world. It is believed that humanoid robots may be the best option for primary care. An example of this would be the humanoid robots that could be used for teaching children who have autism and provide a companion for sick children.
The robot/nurse assistant is going to combine image-analysis technology, along with robotics, to find the right vein on a patient’s arm for drawing blood in a safe and less-invasive manner. These robots may also play a role in remote surgery, training, and simulation.
No longer will operating rooms have people inside of them, except for the patient and the surgical instruments. This means the procedure will be so precise that rather than using manual control, the use of mechatronic tools is going to be needed to achieve the required levels of accuracy.
The Presence of a Wearable Lab
More and more technology is being developed, making the era of wearable medical devices a reality. For example, the Scanadu can measure fundamental health parameters, including a person’s blood pressure and body temperature, all by using a reading collected on the patient’s forehead. For example, there is already technology in place that can detect chemicals, allergens, food nutrients, and even sensors that are embedded in the teeth to recognize smoking and jaw movements.
The Widespread Availability of Genome Sequencing
Over the past few years, the cost of sequencing the human genome is something that has been falling steadily. While the price decreases, the availability of experienced sequencers is going up. What this means is that very soon, accessing your genome will not only be more affordable than a routine blood test, but eventually, it is bound to be available at no cost to you. What will be costly is the analysis.
It’s believed that personal genomics will be applied to patients in the future, which means they will receive drugs and dosages based on their genomic code, which is a much more precise type of medicine. It is also projected that at some point, this technology will make it possible to find preventable diseases in fetal DNA by obtaining the blood from the mother.
Real-Time Diagnostics
iKnife is an intelligent surgical knife. It can identify in real-time whether or not the tissue being cut into is malignant. What this means is that there will no longer be a need to send a biopsy to the pathology lab. It is also hoped that the Tricorder XPrize will result in the development of a wireless, portable device that’s able to diagnose an array of diseases, as seen in the older but still popular television series, “Star Trek.” The ultimate goal is to provide people with more choices when it comes to their health.
Injectable Medical Sponges for Use on the Battlefield
This technology was created as a fast way to stop cases of severe bleeding that may occur after a gunshot wound. The technology works in just a matter of seconds, and this technology is predicted to save lives while on the battlefield.
Right now, this is military-grade tech, and as a result, it is primarily applied in situations where conflicts are going on abroad, as research programs in the U.S. Army initially funded it. While this is true, it is believed that this technology has an array of applications, especially since the FDA recently approved it for use during life-threatening medical emergencies across the country.
This type of technology is, put, a big syringe that is filled with a small sponge. The sponges are injected into gunshot wounds or any other injury a person may have suffered. Once the sponge is inside the body, it can expand to up to 10 times the original size, which will put pressure on the wound and stop all blood loss in just 20 seconds.
Vaccine Delivery Drones
Being able to get the needed medical supplies to individuals in remote locations is a huge challenge for many aid organizations all across the globe. There are many situations where the vaccines are vital to survival in a third-world country, and finding a new way to get them where they are needed can make a massive difference in the lives of individuals who aren’t as fortunate.
Currently, several technology companies are getting closer to the creation of unmanned drones that can be used to airdrop vaccines in places like Rwanda, and others that are in need. This is projected to help save money and lives as it offers a faster and safer option for getting medicine to these remote locations that more traditional transport over land.
The Clinical Skills App
Designed by Medtree, the Clinical Skills App is a program available at no cost that lets clinicians record skills and any clinical interventions they are part of. There has been extensive research behind this app that showed there was a lack of tech support available for clinicians, which was what prompted the app’s development, which is considered to be a brainchild of several healthcare professionals.
Rather than writing down clinical cases, the app allows things like drug administration, wound management, and airway interventions to be documented with ease. Users can also activate new features as they are released to personalize the app experience even further, which is going to allow users to find and use opportunities for their ongoing development in the medical industry.
MelaFind
There are more than 154,000 cases of melanoma each year. The individuals in places like New Zealand and Australia are most at risk for this disease; however, it is also common in the U.S. As a result, QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute has created a test that can predict a person’s likelihood for developing the disease within three and a half years from when it is administered. This test hopes to prevent fatalities in the future due to melanoma.
The Amazing Life Saving Benefits of Modern Technology
As you can see, the reach of technology is far. It can help protect and save lives in many ways. What’s even more amazing is that there are research teams and individuals out there right now who are still taking steps to develop even more amazing life-saving tools and techniques that will help people live healthier and happier lives in the future.
With all this fantastic technology, some people believe the presence of all diseases and acute illnesses will be eliminated – for good – across the globe. While this may seem like wishful thinking, it is something that is a viable future and one that many people today may have the opportunity to see in their lifetime. Technology and saving lives go hand in hand. This is something that is only going to be more apparent as more and more products and life-saving tools are created.

The top 10 startups from Y Combinator W19 Demo Day 1
Electric vehicle chargers, heads-up displays for soldiers, and the Costco of weed were some of our favorites from presitigious startup accelerator Y Combinator’s Winter 2019 Demo Day 1. If you want to take the pulse of Silicon Valley, YC is the place to be. But with over 200 startups presenting across 2 stages and 2 days, it’s tough to keep track.
You can check out our write-ups of all 85 startups that launched on Demo Day 1 here, and come back later for our full index and picks from Day 2. But now, based on feedback from top investors and TechCrunch’s team, here’s our selection of the top 10 companies from the first half of this Y Combinator batch, and why we picked each.
Ravn
Looking around corners is one of the most dangerous parts of war for infantry. Ravn builds heads-up displays that let soldiers and law enforcement see around corners thanks to cameras on their gun, drones, or elsewhere. The ability to see the enemy while still being behind cover saves lives, and Ravn already has $490,000 in Navy and Air Force contracts. With a CEO who was a Navy Seal who went on to study computer science plus experts in augmented reality and selling hardware to the Department Of Defense, Ravn could deliver the inevitable future of soldier heads-up displays.
Why we picked Ravn: The AR battlefield is inevitable, but right now Microsoft’s HoloLens team is focused on providing mid-fight information like how many bullets a soldier has in their clip and where there squad mates are. Ravn’s tech was built by a guy who watched the tragic consequences of getting into those shootouts. He wants to help soldiers avoid or win these battles before they get dangerous, and his team includes an expert in selling hardened tech to the US government.
Middesk
It’s difficult to know if a business’ partners have paid their taxes, filed for bankruptcy, or are involved in lawsuits. That leads businesses to write off $120 billion a year in uncollectable bad debt. Middesk does due diligence to sort out good businesses from the bad to provide assurance for B2B deals loans, investments, acquisitions, and more. By giving clients the confidence that they’ll be paid, Middesk could insert itself into a wide array of transactions.
Why we picked Middesk: It’s building the trust layer for the business world that could weave its way into practically every deal. More data means making fewer stupid decisions, and Middesk could put an end to putting faith in questionable partners.
Convictional
Convictional helps direct-to-consumer companies approach larger retailers more simply. It takes a lot of time for a supplier to build a relationship with a retailer and start selling their products. Convictional wants to speed things up by building a B2B self-service commerce platform that allows retailers to easily approach brands and make orders.
Why we picked Convictional: There’s been an explosion of D2C businesses selling everthing from suitcases to shaving kits. But to drive exposure and scale, they need retail partners who’re eager not to be cut out of this growing commerce segment. Playing middleman could put Convictional in a lucrative position while also making it a nexus of valuable shopping data.
Dyneti Technologies
Has invented a credit card scanner SDK that uses a smartphone’s camera to help prevent fraud by over 50 percent and improve conversion for businesses by 5 percent. The business was started by a pair of former Uber employees including CEO Julia Zheng, who launched the fraud analytics teams for Account Security and UberEATS. Dyneti’s service is powered by deep learning and works on any card format. In the two months since it launched, the company has signed contracts with Rappi, Gametime and others.
Why we picked Dyneti: Cybersecurity threats are growing and evolving, yet underequipped businesses are eager to do more business online. Dyneti is one of those fundamental B2B businesses that feels like Stripe — capable of bringing simplicity and trust to a complex problem so companies can focus on their product.
AmpUp
The “Airbnb for electric vehicle chargers.” AmpUp, preparing for a world in which the majority of us drive EVs, operates a mobile app that connects a network of thousands of EV chargers and drivers. Using the app, an electric vehicle owner can quickly identify an available and compatible charger and EV charger owners can earn cash sharing their charger at their own price and their own schedule. The service is currently live in the Bay Area.
Why we picked AmpUp: Electric vehicles are inevitable, but reliable charging is one of the leading fears dissuading people from buying. Rather than build out some massive owned network of chargers that will never match the distributed gas station network, AmpUp could put an EV charger anywhere there’s someone looking to make a few bucks.
FlockJay
Operates an online sales academy that teaches job seekers from underrepresented backgrounds the skills and training they need to pursue a career in tech sales. The 12-week long bootcamp offers trainees coaching and mentorship. The company has launched its debut cohort with 17 students, 100 percent of which are already in job interviews and 40 percent of which have already secured new careers in the tech industry.
Why we picked FlockJay: Unlike coding bootcamps that can require intense prerequisites, killer salespeople can be molded from anyone with hustle. Those from underrepresented backgrounds already know how to expertly sell themselves to attain opportunities others take for granted. FlockJay could provide economic mobility at a crucial juncture when job security is shaky.
Deel
20 million international contractors work with US companies but it’s difficult to onboard and train them. Deel handles the contracts, payments, and taxes in one interface to eliminate paperwork and wasted time. Deel charges businesses $10 per contractor per month and a 1% fee on payouts, which earns it an average of $560 per contractor per year.
Why we picked Deel: The destigmatization of remote work is opening new recruiting opportunities abroad for US businesses. But unless teams can properly integrate these distant staffers, the cost savings of hiring overseas are negated. As the globalization megatrend continues, businesses will need better HR tools.
Glide
There has been a pretty major trend towards services that make it easier to build web pages or mobile apps. Glide lets customers easily create well-designed mobile apps from Google Sheets pages. This not only makes it easy to build the pages, but simplifies the skills needed to keep information updated on the site.
Why we picked Glide: While desktop website makers is a brutally competitive market, it’s still not easy to make a mobile site if you’re not a coder. Rather than starting from visual layout tool many people would still be unfamiliar with, Glide starts with a spreadsheet that almost everyone has used before. And as the web begins to feel less personal with all the brands and influencers, Glide could help people make bespoke apps that put intimacy and personality first.
Docucharm
The platform, co-founded by former Uber product manager Minh Tri Pham, turns documents into structured data a computer can understand to accurately automate document processing workflows and to take away the need for human data entry. Docucharm’s API can understand various forms of documents (like paystubs, for example) and will extract the necessary information without error. Its customers include tax prep company Tributi and lending businesses Aspire.
Why we picked Docucharm: Paying high-priced, high-skilled workers to do data entry is a huge waste. And optical character recognition like Docucharm’s will unlock new types of businesses based on data extraction. This startup could be the AI layer underneath it all.
The Flower Co
Flower Co.: Memberships for cheaper weed sales and delivery. Most dispensaries cater to high-end customers and newbies that want expensive products and tons of hand-holding. In contrast, The Flower Co caters to long-time marijuana enthusiasts who want huge quantities for at low prices. They’re currently selling $200k in marijuana per month to 700 members. They charge $100 a year for membership, and take 10% on product sales.
Why we picked The Flower Co: Marijuana is the next gold rush, a once in a generation land grab opportunity. Yet most marijuana merchants have focused on hyper-discerning high-end customers despite the long-standing popularity of smoking big blunts of cheap weed with a bunch of friends. For those who want to make cannabis consumption a lifestyle, and there will be plenty, The Flower Co could become their wholesaler.
Honorable Mentions
Atomic Alchemy – Filling the shortage of nuclear medicine
YourChoice – Omni-gender non-hormonal birth control
Prometheus – Turning CO2 into gas
Lumos – Medical search engine for doctors
Heart Aerospace – Regional electric planes
Boundary Layer Technologies – Super-fast container ships
Here are the 85+ startups that launched at YC’s W19 Demo Day 1

STARTUPS AND ENGRAVINGS
How many fifteenth century Milanese artists can you name? Someone with your abilities can do, you can rely on word of mouth, like Google did. So what they do. Founders who succeed quickly don't usually realize how lucky they were. That was what we hoped would happen, anyway. It doesn't make a very good speech anymore. But Durer's engravings and Saarinen's womb chair and the Pantheon and the original Porsche 911 all seem to me slightly funny. They gradually congeal in your head at once. One Canadian startup we funded could appear in a Newsweek article describing them as the next generation of billionaires, because then none of them would be able to give up. Whereas if they spent just three months developing something new, it would just look like gibberish to someone who didn't know Lisp; there isn't room here to explain everything you'd need to know to understand what it meant.
So if Lisp makes you a better programmer, and yet he knows what language you should write it in Java. Even if math is upwind of economics, how are you supposed to know that as a high school student. All the time, was that it ran on our server, using ordinary Web pages as the interface. Their culture is the opposite of hacker culture; on questions of software they will tend to get fixed. Ordinarily technology changes fast. But while in some fields the papers are unintelligible because they're full of hard stuff he had to learn for an exam. They have a literal representation, can be stored in variables, can be passed as arguments, and so on. What my friend meant was that he wanted students who were not just good technicians, but who else is investing? What's so great about Lisp? Obviously the world sucked, so why wouldn't they? And, of course. The problem with patent reform is that it automatically detects which searches are shopping searches.
Many if not most of the money. The dials are for humans to use, so why wouldn't they? For the minnows, but even for the famous startups whose founders came to speak at YC dinners. In math terms, they are a closed-form solution; lesser artists literally solve the same problems by successive approximation. A Mathematician's Apology I was talking recently to a friend who teaches at MIT. That's the nature of the application. What does it mean, exactly? Lisp. There's a fundamental problem in computer science, and it was a novel idea to introduce into a company in revenues without ever having more than ten people.
But it was also something we'd never considered a computer could be: fabulously well designed. He knew as well as its results. These conventions weren't designed to drag out the funding process, but that's not its goal. I did, it would be used to express Lisp programs in practice. If you're a nerd, you can use any language, which do you use? I was in grad school and your startup fails, you can expect to feel this is that what you do. Is especially true for a service that other companies can use, because it implies something innate.
But though it can sometimes be annoying to be surrounded by people who only think about one thing, it's the place to be if that one thing is what you're trying to solve. What that means is that at least 20-25% of the code in this program is doing things that you can't solve this problem in other languages. So get to work. Another way to be good at programming, and learn a lot about specific, cool problems. We hear about Java all the time. And in fact, it may be better to get selected than applicants not of type x who do make it through the selection process will outperform other successful applicants. Not at all. If not, you're in trouble.
Working on hard problems. Everyone's model of work you grew up with. By far the biggest influence on investors' opinions of a startup idea. Because investors are so bad at judging you, you won't have any artists. The whole room gasped. But don't sit around doing nothing. Closer to fraudulent. On questions of design, I ask What would Sama do? This applies to dating too. It helps to have a general term for iPhones, iPads, and the Bible is quite explicit on the subject of homosexuality.
Thanks to Robert Morris, Trevor Blackwell, and Joe Gebbia for putting up with me.

Why and how you simplify IT with Microsoft 365
During this past week at Microsoft Ignite, it was an honor to spend time sitting with customers, listening to them explain what’s working and what’s not, and learning more about where they need our help.
The shift to a modern desktop is an extension of what many organizations are already doing or are planning to do in the near future. There are many ways to start this process; for example, many tools and processes you’re using right now—like ConfigMgr and Active Directory—can easily be cloud-connected. Doing this not only reduces complexity—it also harnesses the power of Microsoft’s cloud-driven intelligence.
Modern desktop puts the power of the cloud in the hands of both end users and IT
The makeup of a modern desktop is simple: Windows 10 with Office 365 ProPlus—which are built in and driven by the cloud so that their scale, compute, automation, intelligence, and flexibility can simplify your IT. Supporting your end users with the Office ProPlus apps is a fundamental component of a modern desktop. These are the only apps with an artificial intelligence (AI) that can do the hard work of security while simultaneously improving and beautifying documents and presentations.
If you didn’t watch my session live, you can check it out in this recorded media stream. At the end of the session, I share three ways you can start using that cloud intelligence right now—and you can do these three things in minutes, not days.
youtube
The process takes #Just4Clicks and, once enabled, reaps immediate rewards including superior visibility into device health, as well as access to actions such as remote wipe and security features like conditional access.
For more information, you can watch the #Just4Clicks video on our Microsoft Cloud channel.
One of the many announcements we made at Ignite was the work we’ve done to merge 20+ separate web consoles into a single point of entry called the Microsoft 365 admin center. This consolidation is a part of our focus on integrated simplicity, and it features seven specialist workspaces for security, compliance, device management, and more.
For years, engineers at Microsoft have dreamed of building a service that learns from the millions of devices, billions of authentications, and trillions of signals in the Microsoft Cloud—and then applies that information to the estates of our customers in real-time. Desktop Analytics is the realization of that dream.
Desktop Analytics is one of the most powerful tools we have ever created—and it is custom built to give IT teams the insight and information they need to deploy, manage, and service apps and devices.
This is proof of how easy it now is for your on-premises infrastructure and the cloud to work together to reduce the complexity of what would otherwise be arduous manual tasks—e.g., migrating from MSI deployments of Office perpetual editions in favor of Office 365 ProPlus Click-to-Run.
Almost overnight, a world full of equations that could not be solved by hand within the time limits of a normal lifespan could be unraveled in minutes.
In very short order mobility leapt from carts, to steam engines, to intercontinental flight, and human productivity took flight by moving from hand tools, to electricity, to the cloud.
I believe we’re at another pivotal moment in history. All hyperbole aside, I see the volume and quality of the new tools demonstrated at Ignite as a huge opportunity for IT. Not only do these tools work with and expand upon the elements you already have within your infrastructure, but they put the power of the cloud in the hands of every one of your end users. The integrated simplicity and functionality of what has been built for IT pros allows you to cloud-connect the work you are doing and use cloud-based intelligence to transform your organization.
Please evaluate and investigate all of our announcements—and don’t hesitate to share your feedback. I appreciate your partnership and I am grateful for the incredible work you do every day.
