I didn't really know where to start uploading this so I figured here would be a good place. I don't know if any of you have played or heard of the JoJo's Bizzare Adventure 7th Stand User game by Nendotairiku but I've been working on it for the past 3 years and have finally finished it. By working on it I mean that I have colored the entire game and made some new additions such as new music, sounds, dialogue, enemies, animations, and sprites. I've also fixed (hopefully) all the bugs that were previously in the game. I take no credit for the development of this game from Nendotairiku, It was just a fun hobby I wanted to enjoy. I really hope you guys enjoy the new version and appreciate the hard work that went into this! You can download the zip file here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/awrgl0ywcu57nzd/7thstand.7z?dl=0
it has the setup file and some other files to help with any font issues and the midi sounds, so be sure to install those as well for the full experiece! Thanks and spread the word!

Essay - 5 speakers I have chosen
For my Essay, the 5 speakers I have chosen who have influenced my practice/film are:
Peter Peake from Aardman
He has worked on films like Pythagasaurus, Pib and Pog and Humdrum. He experiments with different styles of animation. He talked mostly about a Christmas advertisement he worked on about the research and process he went into making it.
What I liked from his talk was when he went through his methods of research he did to create the characters/props for a Christmas advert. I also liked how he experiments and uses different styles of animation in his films.
Sarah Gomes Harris Co-creator of Sarah and duck
She mainly talked about her experience getting into the industry and how Sarah and duck started from a small doodle. She has a very unique art style and love of patterns.
From Sarah’s talk what influenced me was her unique art style and how Sarah and duck began from a doodle. I would like to talk about her unique art style more in my essay and how it's influenced me to consider how to make my graphic novel stand out and be unique.
Barry Purves Stop Frame animator and Director
He talked about his films and how he made them. More importantly, he talked about the importance of telling stories and ways we could do that.
From Barry’s talk, what influenced me most was the importance of telling stories through our animations and characters, be honest with our stories. How animation is about storytelling about our lives, what matters and to inspire.
Linda Mcarthy Stop motion
She mostly talked about small birds singing which was adapted from a comic strip. I enjoyed the quirkiness of the films and characters and I especially liked the tiny elephants.
What I was influenced by at her talk was how she adapted the comic strip into a film, networking with other animators and finding her own niche.
Jud Walton - Stop Motion Character animator
He’s a stop-motion animator with a lot of experience and during his talk, he mostly gave us tips on what we need to do to get into the industry and practicing more, make mistakes and research companies you like and tailor your portfolio to that.
What influenced me from the talk was having a solid dedication to your work, pushing ourselves and working within a budget.

A lecture from Peter Peake
I recently went to a lecture here at my university from a well established animator / animation director called “Peter Peake” who’s freelance but primarily associates with “Aardman”.
He likes mixed media so he isn’t afraid to mix 2D, Stop-Motion and CGI in the movies and adverts that he makes, and it really shows in the variety of everything that he’s made.
Firstly he showed us his earliest works which he did in stop-motion at his university in Bath, he was then recruited to “Aardman” where he made some of his most well known works, “Humdrum” and “Pib and Pog” which are both also stop motion.
A few years later he showed his transition from animator to animation director by making “Pythagasaurus” which is an all CGI short film with some rather famous comedians in it. It was supposed to become a running series but the pilot didn’t take off.
The last thing he showed us was an advert he had recently worked on for a supermarket chain in Melbourne, Australia called “Myer”. He showed us literally ALL the steps to creating the advert. Referencing, location spotting, model designing and production, roughing out storyboards and animatic’s and then finally what the final composite looked like.
Overall I really enjoyed the lecture from Peter Peake and feel I really learned a lot from how he goes about designing and creating his work.

Aardman‘s commercials department occasionally produce one-off short films which give the directors an opportunity to try out new ideas. Often these are worked on during downtime between projects for clients. I spoke to Peter Peake, director of Pib & Pog and Humdrum, about the short film Pythagasaurus as well as a personal project he worked on in his spare time.

Pythagasaurus (2011)
Directed by Peter Peake
Two cavemen seek the Pythagasaurus, a math-loving dinosaur who can solve their problems. This was described to me as Ice Age directed by Seth MacFarlane. And that's accurate. It seems like Aardman is doing more and more great stuff and really branching out to explore new genres within animation and I am so consistently impressed with their work. This short has such quirky British humor and is quite enjoyable.
