got some scripting issues that I need to hash out with the rubber duck

I've been trying to implement a QTE based on some code I copied. Ironed out most of the issues aside from the fact that for some reason it tends to force you to duplicate a scene, so I'm trying to work on that.

Issues include: >>what does variable q control? >>enemy hit, screen remains despite the toggle (how to hide screen within a label?) >>tweak the transforms so they sync with key presses, maybe make them faster >>let player intuit controls or explain them? don't want to coddle them but it's going to be frustrating if they get hit unexpectedly with a bad ending and rollback is disabled... but since the bad ending is a requirement for completion bonus, maybe a little railroading is justified? >>when to disable rollback? >>look up what jump to new context and jump out of context do because if you use the latter, it'll produce an error >>make the QTE win condition more rewarding than the condition where you skip the QTE but progress the story - extra CG? exclusive CG?

As it stands, you can toggle QTEs on or off in the Options screen. The game also offers you a chance to change the setting manually. The way it's structured is:

1.) QTEs are turned on by default 2.) Before you reach the first QTE, however, you're given the choice to toggle the variable 3.) Yes >> proceed to QTE 4.) No >> the game assumes the win condition is true and progresses the story like usual The ironic thing though is that the lose condition is actually preferable because it gives you an ending needed to trigger a completion bonus, so I need to think of a way to make the win condition rewarding.

Win: progress (needs some other reward in order to be justified; maybe achievement or exclusive CG) Lose: flag triggered for completion bonus Score of over 15: trigger special cutscene, then progress Try again? Yes: roll back to the QTE choice toggle No: short special cutscene, then game ends Enter the Konami code: Special scene lmao

Because the game forces a repeat, however, sometimes it'll be like "surprise, bitch" and force you to land two extra button presses. But because the win condition requires a score of four or above, for some reason it'll register as a bad ending and stick you in an infinite loop. What I'm thinking is I have a choice to embrace the bug or to just try and get rid of it. Either I can have it be part of the experience as a scripted event, or I can try to weed it out.

Maybe I could disable rollback for the first QTE but enable it for the second?

Anne Elliot, daughter of dandy baronet Sir Walter Elliot fell in love with Frederick Wentworth. A family friend Lady Russell using (insert book title) persuasion gets Anne to break off the relationship even though she still loved him, apparently he had not enough money prospects or titles. After Lady Russell uses her magic on Anne pulling “certain immediate wretchedness” out of a hat and making Wentworth disappear I'm thinking is her next trick to saw Anne in half? Jumping in a Tardis we time travel forward several years to when the book opens, and Anne’s spendthrift father has mired the family in money troubles to the extent that they must rent out their home and move to Bath. As Sir Walter is considering the renting out of Kellynch Hall one wonders if he should have been knighted Sir Ludicrous and be one of Monty Python’s Knights of Ni when he says "I am not fond of the idea of my shrubberies being always approachable." Wentworth’s sister, Mrs. Croft and her husband, Admiral Croft, rent the Elliot’s home Kellynch Hall. Wentworth returns to the area as a Captain having become rich taking prizes in sea battles during the Napoleonic wars. At first in the countryside, then in the off-season seaside resort of Lyme, and finally in the social matrix of Bath, Anne and Captain Wentworth whirl around each other in a kind of orbital kismet. At first these two being thrown together is anything but comfortable “she (Anne) felt as if their being in company with each other, under their present circumstances, could only be exposing them to inadvertencies and misconstructions of the most mischievous kind.” At times Anne and Wentworth’s signals get so crossed it’s as if they are communicating at a distance using semaphore and neither is very fluent in flags. The one flag they both learn in this seductive novel is the white one as they finally surrender to feelings that may have been kept in basement mason jars for years but when opened are preserved completely. There is a sweet sadness to this last Austen novel. Literary critic Harold Bloom once called Persuasion “the perfect novel” and I can also sympathize with the famous (if possibly apocryphal) story of Lord Tennyson interrupting his friends on a visit to Lyme Regis when they started talking about the 1685 rebellion and demanding: “Don’t talk to me of the Duke of Monmouth, show me the exact spot where Louisa Musgrove fell.” I will let Austen have the last word about Anne "She had been forced into prudence in her youth, she learned romance as she grew older: the natural sequel of an unnatural beginning."

DBH - OC Ideal Pets

I'm still trying to finish up the Fallout AU Info Doc (I'm stuck on a few choices for what characters will be, especially Josh), so to keep up some activity I've decided to do a post about which kind of pet would be ideal for my OCs.

The list will be a bit long (because I have an absurd amount of OCs) so I'll put it under a cut if anyone is interested in taking a look.

--Androids--

Joel (EM400) - Despite being terrified of dogs, Joel's ideal pet is and will forever be Chitin, the android German Shepherd that has been nothing if not patient and loyal towards him. Joel's fear of dogs (especially rottweilers) still persists on some level, but Chitin helps him as a therapy animal.

RJ (EM400) - Despite being a rogue unit of the Jerry hivemind RJ still has a fascination for pirate thematics like his many brothers. As such, he has a fondness for exotic and brightly colored fish and other aquatic critters. The grand jewel of his vast collection is a tiny blue ringed octopus he calls Kraken.

Sergei (PL600) - Due to his many psychological issues, Sergei is not allowed to have a pet of his own. Instead he's being educated on proper petcare by Noah who keeps a close eye on him.

Noah (PL600) - Thanks to his great love for animals and veterinary studies, Noah is very capable around all sorts of critters. He has at least three cats (Elvis, Freddy, Brian), one dog (Melanie), five bunnies (Emma, Geri, Beyonce, Shakira, Kesha) and a guinea pig (Phil). They're all named after old singers which Sergei finds amusing.

Dimitri (PL600) - Dogs. Lots and lots of dogs. He has a lot of love to give to creatures that are inherently loyal and loving towards him. He's not only a professional dog-walker but also the Cullen family's official dogsitter. He has two puppies (A Rottweiler named Peach and a Doberman named Bowser) and is also quite attached to Roky and Chitin. He'd want to get a pet bat just to teach it to divebomb people (the threat of rabies is amusing to him).

Seymour (PL600) - Animal magnet. All animals just naturally love Seymour since he goes out of his way to feed strays. As a result you'll find a group of cats and dogs following him around town when he's either on or off duty as a police officer. He owns a massive Great Dane named Adonis.

Apollo (AP700) - He loves dogs but wouldn't be opposed to having a cat since they're more independent and he has Chance to care for. Despite his fondness for animals he'd appreciate it if Dimitri didn't constantly bring strays back home...

Proteus (IO100-P) - Took in his creator mom's three android cats and roomba after he returned home from the Io escape mission. He absolutely loves cats and would be the kind of guy to become a crazy cat-person. He thinks it's less of a problem and more of a compliment.

Dakota (CX100) - She would love to have a parrot. Chatty smart critters are a delight to her, and she'd greatly enjoy teaching it to greet people at the door or even on the phone. The only reason she doesn't own a pet is because she's very indecisive over what species she'd want to get.

Monochrome (CX100) - Not much of a pet owner. He's content with playing with Mile's bizarre android python, PB, who has the processor of a dog. He thinks she's pretty cool.

Baptiste (CX100) - He's terribly scared of animals.

Jindosh (HR900) - Horse kind of guy. He would greatly enjoy owning a ranch at some point, where he could train draft horses. He's not much of a rider himself, but just working with imposing and powerful animals brings him a sort of blissful tranquility.

Veronica (WR400) - She's a cat-person and isn't very fond of dogs, which is hilarious considering her and Scott's situation. She eventually gets a Siamese cat she calls Sir Rolland the Regal.

Scott (HR400 In K9300 Body) - As he's currently stuck inside a dog's body, it's pretty silly to get a pet. When he eventually does get a humanoid body again, he actually keeps the K9300 body and gets a processor for it. The dog's name is Old Friend.

Miles (RK300) - PB is the best noodle puppy in existence and he loves her too much to get any other pet. He has a great love and admiration for snakes, and thinks dogs are lovable and loyal.

Tristan (RK700) - He has a pet chameleon named Preston. It's a pretty ornery thing, but quite chill when he handles it. He likes to carry it around his apartment when he's alone and sort of vents to it since the reptile won't pass any judgment on his past actions. Tristan would kill for his pet chameleon if anyone so much as eyed it weirdly. He's incredibly attached to it.

Uma (???) - She spends a lot of time at Mr. Siddiq's abode to mingle with the exotic animal androids. She seems to be really taken with big cats and with wolves. At some point she rescues a wolfdog that was sent to a shelter to be euthanized. She named it Essex.

Bo Siddiq (YK500) - She doesn't keep pets since she already has access to all of her dad's rescued animal androids. Her best friend is Sasha the tigress.

Hearse (MC500) - He isn't very good with living beings, Dr. Ojomo's children are already complicated enough to look after, but he won't deny possums are pretty "metal". He started feeding one that's gotten into their garbage lately... He calls her Raven.

Eddie (WK218) - Myu's cat, Bravo, is his bestest friend in the whole world. He's extremely gentle with him and loves to spoil him rotten.

Stag (Hybrid Model) - Due to his alterations he's not patient enough with animals. He does follow a specific herd of deer sometimes and admires them from a distance. They seem to not be scared of him due to his antlers.

Bear (Hybrid Model) - Jordan wishes he could keep a pet as company. Sadly, since his reprogramming causes him to go aggressive whenever something approaches (excluding a very minute list), he doesn't want to risk going near any local fauna. He doesn't like bears very much (contrary to popular belief), instead if he could he'd like to own a rat (he thinks they're cool and pretty smart).

--Humans--

Valentina Hernández - She has Regi who honestly is more his own person and her personal bodyguard than a pet. She also rescues animal androids that have been negligently modded (she was the one who gave Miles PB since she couldn't undo the damage her original owner did to the poor python) by amateurs. If she were to get a pet she would go out of her way to either get a goose or a goat (her father had a goat named Pablo and her mother a goose named Rosalinda, they used to tell her stories about them).

Artyum Kutznekov - Has a brown tabby cat named Misha, and often rescues abandoned kittens he finds on the streets, nursing them back to health before finding them proper loving homes. He's a very nurturing guy despite his grumpy disposition and intimidating size. Val finds it hilarious how he can hold three kittens in one single hand.

Benjamin Peterson - Has a thing for spiders, which has caused several arguments between him and Val. He owns a Mexican Red Tarantula named Tarantino, and he is definitely the guy you call when there's a spider somewhere in your house. He either rescues them or (if they're big enough) offers them up to Tarantino as sacrifice.

Dr. Ojomo - She has a great fondness for birds, specifically birds of prey. On weekends she goes to a sanctuary to help rehabilitate endangered wild birds. She has handled owls and vultures alike. She's taken notice of Earl's habit of feeding the possum that keeps getting into their garbage and finds it adorable.

Elisa "Myu" Corvo - She's without a doubt a cat-person, but she does like dogs as well. She owns a rescue cat named Bravo.

Mr. Asad Siddiq - He rescues exotic animal androids from negligent owners. His collection is incredibly vast and even includes dinosaur androids. All of his animals (except a few very difficult abuse cases) are incredibly fond of him and will approach him openly. His favorites are Sasha the tigress (his very first rescue), Ahri and Jolene (a coral snake and a rattlesnake), and the large herd of giraffes he has amassed from different zoos.

good things i’ve done since graduating (aka my productivity when out of uni is unreal lmao):  

read (1) book (’everything in its place’ by oliver sacks). he’s my favorite neurologist/neuroscientist! his enthusiasm for neuroscience is contagious; i’d recommend the book to anyone regardless of ur academic background. he has a lot of wisdom to share imo. it’s a bit expensive bc it’s a 2019 release & post-mortem at that (sacks unfortunately died in 2015), but if you have $26 to spare, it’s an incredibly engaging nonfiction read. it’s written by a gay, jewish doctor whose mother & father were both physicians in the early 1900s (a feat, given how rare female doctors were at the time) & he discovered the benefits of using L-DOPA to treat certain types of patients (L-DOPA is a precursor to dopamine that is able to cross the blood brain barrier unlike dopamine itself. it’s converted into dopamine in the brain & is used often in treating symptoms of parkinson’s disease. sacks, however, was the first to use L-DOPA to treat survivors of encephalitis lethargica, a form of encephalitis that affected ~5 million ppl from 1915 to the mid 1920s. its cause has never been determined.). i read it in its entirety in one sitting & i have adhd so that’s a feat lol. if u don’t have time to read the book, then i recommend at least watching the movie, Awakenings, which is about oliver sacks’ work w/ encephalitis lethargica patients. 

i’ve cooked! i tried my hand at making chicken fried rice (not healthy, i know, but what can i say--i love rice) & it turned out fairly well imo 

spent some time learning how to code. i’m starting w/ python & using codeacademy to do so; it’s been fun so far :D 

also i’m attempting to knit a scarf!! i’ve never knitted before but there’s a pattern on the yarn i bought that seems good for a beginner. fingers crossed it’ll turn out okay ^^; 

spent some time studying some basic science stuff. chem, bio, & biochemistry, specifically! it’s been a good refresher since i haven’t had these basic classes for about ~4 yrs now. i’m watching videos on genetics as well as i never did get the chance to take a genetics class at the collegiate level. 

i’ve been back to writing as well! so hopefully my muse for my witcher fic and oneshots will come back in full force :3c

Cinematograful românesc uimeşte din nou - Avanpremierele Toamnei Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest

La final de an, Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest face un bilanț al numeroaselor succese ale cinematografiei românești și aduce în secțiunea Avanpremierele Toamnei un program bogat ce prezintă viziunile cinematografice diverse ale cineaștilor români în filme premiate la Cannes, Veneția, Sarajevo, Annecy sau Oberhausen. Lucrări de ficțiune, documentar, animație, hibride și experimentale reflectă evoluția admirabilă a cinematografiei românești care continuă să se remarce în circuitul internațional și să uimească publicul local. Invităm așadar spectatorii să exploreze valurile schimbătoare ale cinematografiei românești sub umbrela Avanpremierele Toamnei.

Spre Nord Spre Nord, realizat de Mihai Mincan este inspirat din fapte reale. În 1996, Joel, un marinar credincios filipinez descoperă un pasager român urcat clandestin pe vasul pe care lucrează. Știind că tânărul Dumitru riscă să fie aruncat peste bord dacă va fi descoperit de căpitan și ofițeri, Joel intră într-un joc periculos de a-l salva, implicându-și echipajul, credința în Dumnezeu și deopotrivă, viața unui om nevinovat. Spre Nord este lungmetrajul de debut al regizorului, a cărui premieră mondială a avut loc în cadrul Festivalului de Film de la Veneția 2022, în secțiunea competitivă Orizzonti, unde a primit premiul Criticii de Film Independente - Bisato d’Oro - pentru cel mai bun film, acordat în afara secțiunii.

Oameni de treaba După o serie de comedii de succes, regizorul Paul Negoescu se întoarce la dramă cu Oameni de treabă, selectat în festivalurile de film de la Sarajevo, Namur, Varșovia și recompensat cu premiul pentru cel mai bun regizor la festivalul LIFFE din Serbia. Ilie este polițist într-un sat din Nordul României. Înconjurat de corupție (primarul și preotul din sat fac trafic cu țigări din Ucraina), Ilie are un moment de analiză și vrea să-și facă datoria, să se așeze la casa lui, să aibă o viață normală. În urma unor serii de evenimente violente la care asistă și a tensiunilor care se acumulează, e nevoit să ia decizii importante la muncă și în viața personală. „Ceea ce m-a interesat la aceste personaje a fost incapacitatea lor de a se adapta, pentru că toți sunt incapabili să se conecteze cu emoțiile lor, fugind de realitate până când soarta le forțează o verificare a realității” a declarat autorul pentru site-ul Aarc.ro.

Insula Insula, cea mai nouă peliculă a uneia dintre cele mai celebrate cineaste europene (Anca Damian) este altă animaţie tulburătoare care se adaugă listei din ce în ce mai consistente de opere originale şi provocatoare ale regizoarei. Aici, ea ne invită să descoperim o fabulă muzicală inspirată din mitul lui Robinson Crusoe, ca şi când Micul Prinţ ar fuziona cu Monty Python. Robinson este medic, iar singurătatea lui este voluntară, într-o insulă invadată de migranți, ONG-uri și gardieni. El îl salvează pe Friday, un naufragiat, singurul supraviețuitor al unui grup de refugiaţi ilegali. În timpul călătoriei sale pe insulă, Robinson se întâlnește cu ființe și evenimente extraordinare, într-o lume în care fiecare își caută propriul paradis. „Mă gândeam la povestea lui Robinson Crusoe şi cunoscând concertul lui Alexandru Bălănescu şi Ada Milea (bazat pe o reinterpretare după poetul Gellu Naum), am avut ideea să fac un muzical cu noul Robinson, un doctor care are cele mai bune intenţii şi un Vineri al zilelor noastre, un refugiat de azi într-o realitate în care lumea colapsează”, povesteşte cineasta. Filmul a fost arătat pe marele ecrane ale festivalurilor din Busan, Rotterdam și Göteborg.

Apropierea Prezentat în selecția Sarajevo IFF, Apropierea (regia Botond Püsök) vorbeşte despre ce se întâmplă atunci când frica devine o forţă. După un eveniment traumatizant în viața fiicei sale, o mamă luptă să vindece cicatricile trecutului, într-o comunitate mică de oameni care nu vor să înțeleagă ce s-a întâmplat. Botond Püsök a câştigat trofee în 2016 cu scurtmetrajul Angela pentru cea mai bună regie la festivalul Astra şi la DocuArt Film Festival. Apropierea este primul său documentar de lungmetraj. „Când am început să fac acest film și să vorbesc despre el cu cei pe care îi cunosc, am fost uimit să descopăr cum gândesc oamenii despre abuzul asupra copiilor și despre abuz în general: știu că este ceva teribil, dar atât de îndepărtat, în același timp, încât nu și-ar imagina niciodată că i s-ar putea întâmpla cuiva apropiat. Așa că am știut de la bun început că una dintre cele mai mari provocări a acestui film va fi cum să spun o poveste despre o problemă atât de îngrozitoare cu care mulți sunt reticenți la a se conecta”, spune cineastul.

Al cui caine sunt Al cui câine sunt, în regia lui Robert Lakatos, este un eseu documentar satiric ce vorbește despre politică într-o lume în care cetățenii sunt câinii, politicienii - crescătorii de câini, funcționarii sunt proprietarii, națiunile - rasele naționale câinești, țările sunt federațiile naționale ale crescătorilor, iar forumul suprem internațional este FCI-ul, adică Federația Canină Internațională – regizorul fiind cel care interpretează realitatea și manipulează opinia publică. „Am dorit să fac un film pe care Caragiale ar fi invidios să-l vadă”, mărturiseşte acesta.

Vulturii din Ţaga (regia Iulian Manuel Ghervas şi Adina Popescu) urmărește evoluția echipei în timpul unui campionat în România, precum și la un turneu internațional în Slovacia, folosind fotbalul ca pretext pentru a explora poveștile de viață ale jucătorilor, cu speranțele și eșecurile lor personale, precum și povestea unei comunități rurale prinse într-o lume mică, anonimă și fără speranță. Filmul documentar are o abordare realistă, folosind un stil de filmare observațional, iar povestea este narată într-o manieră ironică, dar cu tandrețe și empatie. Și de data acesta publicul Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest .13 va putea să se discute cu realizatorii filmelor din program și va putea vota filmul favorit, titlurile de mai sus intră în competiția ce va avea ca premiu un sprijin de distribuție în valoare de 2500 euro oferit de Dacin Sara. Discuțiile de după filmele din Avanpremierele Toamnei sunt prezentate de Institutul Cultural Român. Secțiunea este completată, în afara competiției, de alte două filme de lungmetraj și de șapte scurtmetraje grupate în două calupuri. Alis (regia Clare Weiskopf şi Nicolás van Hemelryck) este o coproducție Columbia-Chile-Romania care a fost prezentă la Festivalul de Film de la Berlin din acest an, în secţiunea competiţională Generation. Pelicula îşi propune să răspundă la întrebarea cum îşi poate cineva imagina un viitor, atunci când se naşte fără oportunităţi? Două adolescente care au trăit pe străzile neiertătoare din Bogota, închid ochii și o visează pe Alis, o colegă de clasă fictivă. Narațiunea lor plină de suflet dezvăluie o putere uimitoare de a rupe ciclul violenței și de a îmbrățișa un viitor mai luminos. Reflecții asupra României - 5 fețe ale identității, semnat de Andrei-Nicolae Teodorescu, invită spectatorii să descopere o altfel de Românie prin cinci personalități care activează în cinci domenii diferite, fiecare dintre ele adăugând la patrimoniul cultural, ecologic, tradițional, științific, tehnologic și artistic al unei țări care are un potențial extrem de bogat. „Ideea documentarului a pornit de la discuțiile cu producătorul meu, Dan Dimancescu – cetățean american de origine română, și consulul onorific al României la Boston. Dânsul a început să vină în România din ce în ce mai des, iar atunci când l-am întrebat ce îi place așa mult aici, mi-a răspuns că pentru el este o experiență uimitoare să vadă cum acest loc a revenit la viață după '89. Documentarul încearcă să surprindă tocmai aceste schimbări prin ochii a 5 personaje care au făcut ceva tangibil, pragmatic, după '90 în România și care au contribuit cumva la ceea ce ar putea deveni un brand, o imagine iconică pentru noua Românie.” explică regizorul. Filmul românesc continuă să dovedească, prin premii internaționale și o paletă variată de viziuni originale, potențialul formatului de scurt-metraj în toate variațile sale posible – ficțiunea, documentarul și animația. În animaţia Sasha, regia Serghei Chiviriga, un melc adolescent confuzat de întreaga lume și de propriul său corp, este nevoit să descopere într-un mod ciudat adevărul despre identitatea sa sexuală. Locuri ascunse de Teona Galgoţiu observă cu intimitate emoțională relația unei adolescente cu mama sa, în urma unei dezvăluiri copleșitoare. Inspirat de instalația Section 28 a lui Derek Jarman, filmul lui Bogdan Balla, Eram somnambul când am văzut toate acele culori, compară povești din istoria recentă a comunității cu experiențe personale din prezent, distilând distanța dintre realitățile tăcute ale iubirii queer și isteria reprezentării ei publice. Premiat anul acesta la Annecy International Animation Film Festival și Sarajevo IFF, animația maghiaro-română, Amok, a lui Balázs Turai, descrie povestea lui Clyde care e nevoit să-și înfrunte demonul interior după ce și-a pierdut logodnica și frumusețea într-un accident ciudat. Ńeale azbuirătoare, în regia Alexandrei Gulea, este un documentar experimental care cultivă memoria trecerii aromânilor într-un exil permanent între munți și mări locuite de ecouri de voci răsunând puternic și totuși neauzite. Co-producția româno-germană a fost premiată la faimosul festival Oberhausen drept Cel mai bun film în competiția germană. Alt scurtmetraj documentar – Face-s-ar pământul cer, regizat de Ana Vîjdea, o surprinde pe Maria prinsă între două lumi – una ghidată de asceză, cealaltă de nevoia de comuniune familială. Prin cadre atent compuse și un peisaj sonor minimalist, filmul ne poartă prin viața de zi cu zi a Mariei, prin gândurile și emoțiile ei. Noul film al Roxanei Stroe, Appalachia, e amplasat într-o comunitate profund credincioasă din România provincială, în care doi adolescenți marginalizați se îndrăgostesc – însă totul în jurul lor se destramă. Scurtmetrajul a avut recent premiera la Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur. Casting deschis în cadrul programului Managing Talents .7 La cea de-a 13-a ediție Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest revine și deja bine-cunoscutul program dedicat comunității actorilor din România – Managing Talents care își propune să le ofere instruire, contacte și să le faciliteze oportunități pentru cariera lor de film, în România dar și în străinătate. În cadrul ediției a 7-a va avea loc un casting deschis în urma căruia vor fi selectați actori pentru rolurile principale ale unui film românesc care va fi turnat anul viitor. Filmul va fi regizat de Teodora Ana Mihai, realizatoare care a fost prezentă în 2021 la Cannes, în selecția oficială, cu primul ei lungmetraj intitulat La Civil, pentru care a fost distinsă cu Prix de l’Audace în Un Certain Regard. Sunt eligibili toți actorii români sau vorbitori de limba română cu vârste cuprinse între 18 și 48 de ani. Doritorii sunt invitați să trimită un self-tape (înregistrare video) cu un text prestabilit până la data de 15 octombrie. Toate detaliile se găsesc pe site-ul evenimentului www.filmedefestival.ro, în secțiunea Managing Talents. Actorii înscriși sunt invitați să participe în cadrul festivalului la mai multe evenimente dedicate lor. În data de 22 octombrie, sâmbătă, de la ora 10:00, sunt așteptați la Cinema Muzeul Țăranului pentru o sesiune de lucru practic pe text cu regizoarea proiectului, Teodora Ana Mihai – pornind de la vizionarea self-tape-urilor trimise. Înainte de sesiunea de lucru ce va putea fi urmărită live, online, Dr. David Zitzlsperger, directorul general al companiei germane Denkungsart GmbH, va susține o prezentare despre platforma Castupload, cu care Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest face parteneriat pentru programul Managing Talents de anul acesta. Denkungsart administrează propriile SAAS "Castupload" (www.castupload.com) și "filmmakers" (www.filmmakers.de). Aceste rețele sunt destinate exclusiv cineaștilor profesioniști și se adresează în special actorilor, agenților și directorilor de casting. Împreună, acestea reprezintă cel mai mare grup de actori, agenți și directori de casting profesioniști din Uniunea Europeană. Majoritatea rolurilor relevante din UE sunt distribuite direct sau indirect prin intermediul realizatorilor de filme sau al Castupload. Castupload colaborează pentru producții care variază de la mici filme studențești locale până la filme de lungmetraj produse de studiouri internaționale, companii de producție și de difuzori precum Netflix și AMAZON Studios. Cheia pentru Denkungsart este parteneriatul direct cu asociațiile regionale de actori, agenți, directori de casting și producători. Oferta de software pentru comisiile/oficiile locale de film permite regiunilor mai mici, inclusiv din afara UE, să se integreze direct în rețeaua stabilită de realizatorii de film care lucrează cu sistemele pentru proiectele lor de film, televiziune, teatru și publicitate. Totodată, masterclass-urile susținute de regizorii invitați la Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest .13 vor avea o componentă anume legată de lucrul cu actorul, iar actorii vor avea ocazia să intre în dialog cu realizatorii și să le adreseze întrebări legate de profesia lor și oportunitățile de a evolua spre o carieră internațională. De-a lungul celor șase ediții anterioare Managing Talents a facilitat întâlniri în persoană cu regizori de film, actori și agenți de casting români și internaționali. Astfel participanții au avut ocazia să discute și să lucreze cu agenții internaționali: Avy Kaufman, Richard Cook, Debbie McWilliams, Anja Dihrberg, Frank Moiselle, Vicki Thomson, Nathalie Cheron, Elizaveta Shmakova, Victor Jenkins, William Conacher, Manuel Puro, directorii de casting români: Viorica Capdefier, Domnica Cîrciumaru, Cătălin Dordea, Floriela Grapini, actrița Anamaria Vartolomei, dar și cu regizorul Cristian Mungiu, inițiatorul programului. Managing Talents este un program prezentat de Apa Nova. Festivalul Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest este prezentat de Orange România, partener de tradiție al evenimentului.
