Concept art of a new combiner form Optimus assumes in the Energon AU. In this universe, Alpha Q succeeded in creating a small solar system which included his own Planet Q, and it results in seeing societies and native life on each planet. Iron Planet survives, and is home to the Rust Giants, Iron Wolves, Morphobots, and more.

With help from Kranix, a Lithonian scientist visiting from the neighboring planet and the Combination Spark, Optimus gains a unique form by merging with compatible primitive Transformers on Iron Planet, resulting in Iron Optimus to Galvatron’s chagrin.

The girl is Pythona, one of several Mercenaries the Decepticons hired to assist in stealing Energon. She’s not afraid to tell Galvatron off.

We get a peek at the upcoming clash with the Cobra-la representatives and, frankly, a well done splash page!

The scales are very nice!

We also hit a curious running theme of characters concerned with not living up to the expectations of their leaders (and father). This creates a potential sympathetic villain story for Pythona. I'm curious to see where Kirkman takes that.

Darak, Solila, doesn't matter who he's with, Handroid gets told to have people feelings. Although, I think we're getting something changing as Handroid is actually apologizing for this.

The visual differences between Agorra architecture and Zertonia is really neat! Along with the color palettes! I do think the styles reflect their societies, but we'll learn more about Agorra soon, I think!

Yeah, Dulin is one of those leaders whose progeny must be perfect and, ignoring whatever their child wants, tries to make them follow in their path. We do know that Dulin cares about Darak to some extent, as we see him mourn the idea of his son's execution, but these two are oil and water.

G.I. Joe the Movie was released on August 14, 1987. It was meant to be a theatrical release, see the death of Duke (Michael Bell), and have a topless scene with Zarana (Lisa Raggio). The production went longer than predicted so the Transformers movie was released first, which ended up having a huge impact on the Joe movie. Because Transformers the Movie underperformed in the theaters, it was decided to release the Joe movie as a direct to video and TV presentation. Because the Transformers movie recieved so much backlash from killing Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen), dialogue was added explaining Duke didn't die but went into a coma. The topless scene was story boarded but the scene was altered in the final film with a swim top. Most of the new characters introduced were the new recruits (Lt Falcon - Don Johnson, Kunoichi Jinx - Shuko Akune, Chuckles, Law - Ron Ortiz and Order, Big Lob - Brad Sanders, and Tunnel Rat - Laurie Faso), Sgt Slaughter's (Robert Remus), Renegades (Mercer - Kristoffer Tabori, Red Dog - Poncie Ponce, and Taurus - Earn Boen) and the mutants from Cobra-La (Pythona - Jennifer Darling, Golobulus - Burgess Meredith, and Nemesis Enforcer - Cullen). As Cobra Commander (Christopher Collins/Chris Latta) was facing a mutiny by Dr Mindbender(Brian Cummings), Baroness (Morgan Lofting), Destro (Arthur Burghardt), Zartan (Zack Hoffman), Tomax (Corey Burton) and Xamot (Bell), Pythona arrived and convinced Cobra to steal the BET device. The mission failed, Serpentor was captured, and Cobra Commander retreated his forces to Cobra-La. There Golobulus revealed that Cobra Commander was an escapee from Cobra-La. Also that Cobra-La had secretly manipulated Dr Mindbender into creating Serpentor (Dick Gautier). While Lt Falcon was court martialed by the Joes, Cobra Commander was put on trial in Cobra-La. Now that it’s been long enough. Skybound’s big reveal on Megatron’s whereabouts: he’s in Cobra-La being studied by Cobra Commander’s science division against Golobulus’ wishes. For awhile there was the meme about Optimus wearing Megatron’s arm, and since Megatron seems to be missing both arms, I wondered what it’d be like if he got a Cobra-La replacement arm. Sort of the rough idea I had was an organic Guyver version of the dead Prime arm, but experimented with making his arm a transforming version of Serpentor’s chariot thing. In vehicle mode, I saw him having a big snake turret because I think it’s funny.

A fan thing I had in mind for Skybound was a team of Cobracons that consist of Iguanus, Slitherfang, Gatoraider, Deathcobra, Billy (based on the Cobra Commander’s son version from IDW’s TF vs Joes series) and Pythona. Megatron would have a role, but I also saw Starscream become a Python Patrol jet, only his null rays are snakes for a visual gag.

Autobusy i pociągi

Komunikacja w Wellington jest świetna. Jeśli się pracuje w ścisłym centrum, np. na Lambton Quay (u wylotu której siedzibę ma rząd) lub nieco wyżej położonej The Terrace (jak autor), to samochód odpada, chyba że stać nas na 40$ dziennie za parking.

Na głównych kierunkach jeżdżą autobusy, w szczycie co kilka minut. Kierowcy dokonują niesamowitych manewrów po zakrętach, podjazdach. W niektórych miejscach jezdnia bywa parkingiem, bo po prostu nie ma jak inaczej zostawić auta; tam też autobusy się przeciskają, szybko i sprawnie.

Bywa, że nie ma miejsca nawet na zatokę przystankową; ale ludzie muszą jakoś wsiąść przecież. Jest takie miejsce na linii nr 14, że przystanek jest na rogu skrzyżowania. Autobus staje tam po prostu w poprzek drogi całkowicie ją blokując i auta spokojnie czekają.

Do autobusów wsiada się przez przednie drzwi, odbijając kartę przy kierowcy. Większość wita się z kierowcą, on/ona odpowiada z uśmiechem. Ja też. Mówię Wam, to jest strasznie fajne. Przy wysiadaniu niemal wszyscy żegnają się Thank you, driver!, nawet krzyczą to ze środkowych drzwi przez tłum, żeby słyszał(a). Opuszczając pojazd też trzeba się odbić, więc wsiadanie/wysiadanie na niektórych przystankach chwilę trwa. Ludzie są jednak zdyscyplinowani, do autobusu ustawia się kolejka i wszyscy wchodzą za porządkiem.

Z Wellington Station odjeżdżają pociągi na północ, do dzielnic położonych dalej, nawet o 30 km od centrum - Johnsonville, Waikanae, Upper Hutt. W szczycie co 10 minut, potem co 20, wieczorem co 30, w weekendy co 30-60 minut. Nie ma nawet po co na rozkład patrzeć, w coś się zawsze wsiądzie.

Tak często jeżdżą oczywiście główne linie, te zawijające w głąb osiedli tylko co 30-60 minut, a w weekendy na ogół wcale. Do przystanku głównej linii można dojść z wielu miejsc poniżej kilometra.
