You can’t have both sorry, life’s a bitch
ALSO FOR THE RECORD YOU CAN TOTALLY HAVE BOTH ON THAT LAST ONE *GESTURES TO ME AND PYXE*
10. Has a piece of writing ever \"haunted\" you? Has your own writing haunted you? What does that mean to you?:
There’s a few examples of this for me. The first fandom I was ever in was the MLP fandom- more specifically, mlp equestria girls. And there is one specific fic I read, probably one of the FIRST fanfiction I EVER read, that has probably affected my own writing- both fic and original- in hundreds of ways. It was an angst fic about Sunset Shimmer, who was my favourite character. I don’t even remember if it was good, I was like 13 so my taste wasn’t exactly discerning, but I remember how much it affected me. I reread it over and over again, and I’d say that it really affected how I write, and the subjects I choose to write about.
Even earlier, my favourite author as a child was Jaqueline Wilson. Her specialty was The Kids Are Not Ok, essentially- the main characters in her books were always going through a lot. So I can see how her books also affected how I write. Also, her autobiography made me want to be an author, so there’s that. Thanks JW for the life’s purpose :)
With both of those examples, I mean haunting in that I can see how they affected me in how I write, in what I write- they’re both there in my stories.
There’s other pieces of writing that have haunted me more in a “god I can’t stop thinking about this” way- I read Sleep Over recently, brilliant horror book that really affected me. The Locked Tomb series, obviously. Definitely some fanfics I’ve read that I couldn’t stop thinking about for ages- I lie awake at night thinking about them.
As for my own writing, generally when I get really into an idea I can’t stop thinking about it. I start relating everything to it.
that got longer than I was planning, oops
12. If a genie offered you three writing wishes, what would they be? Btw if you wish for more wishes the genie turns all your current WIPs into Lorem Ipsum, I don’t make the rules
1: My plan for the dwampyverse fantasy au is… ambitious, and would be 5 longfics if I wrote all of them the way I want to (obviously the existing mml fantasy au fic is one, so 4 to write). Genie, please let me keep my ambition and motivation to finish them all? Please? I’m so passionate about this project don’t let me lose interest don't let me-
2: Motivation to write an original novel would be good
3: More time to write lol
15. Do you write in the margins of your books? Dog-ear your pages? Read in the bath? Why or why not? Do you judge people who do these things? Can we still be friends?:
I do all of those things. (although I don’t do it to nice hardcovers, and obviously not to borrowed books or library books). I don’t mind my paperback books being a bit well loved, and I kinda prefer the way they look AFTER they’ve been read- battered and dog eared.
So obviously I have literally no room to judge anyone doing anything to their books, and I don’t mind someone dog earing my books if I lend them out. However if someone damages a library book I will kill and bite and stab
20. If a witch offered you the choice between eternal happiness with your one true love and the ability to finally finish, perfect, and publish your dearest, darlingest, most precious WIP in exactly the way you've always imagined it — which would you choose? You can’t have both sorry, life’s a bitch:
I’d love a true love and all that… but im gonna have to go with the wip. I’ve always wanted to be a published author and write an epic fantasy series

Bechloe Week 2018 Day 2 - Jealousy
Song is ‘Back to You’ by Selena Gomez off the 13 Reasons Why soundtrack
Post-PP3
Will be posted to AO3 after vacation. AO3 link
Formatting this for tumblr has been horrible FYI... JUST READ it on AO3 PLEASE!!!!
Beca looked out over the crowd in front of her. Three years ago she’d been signed by DJ Khalid and her entire life had changed.
“Are you ready Los Angeles!?!?” Beca shouted into the microphone.
The crowd roared back.
Beca grinned. “That’s awesome! So, the last song for the night is new-“
Thunderous screaming halted her as the fans went wild.
“Alright! Alright! Guess I know my next album will do well, huh?”
The crowd cheered again.
“Well this song is… well, I don’t even know how to explain it... Have you ever been jealous?"
The crowd murmured agreement.
"Well that's what this song is about. I ruined a friendship because of jealousy and this is kinda like closure but not really? It’s an apology and I hope you understand. Why don’t you tell me what you think?”
As the intro started Beca shot a half-smile at the audience. “This is Back to You.”
Memories flashed behind closed eyelids as Beca sang.
Took you like a shot                               Thought that I could chase you with a cold evening                               Let a couple years water down how I'm feeling about you                               (Feeling about you)
The shouting match with Chloe only days after the USO tour.
The rash decision to move out of the apartment the same day.
The rift between Chloe and her.
 -flashback-
Beca pulled Chloe aside as the rest of the Bellas filed onto the airplane that would take them home. “So you and Chicago?”
Chloe gave an excited grin and head nod. “Yes! Oh Becs, I have so much to tell you! He’s returning with us and taking some vacation time and we’re going to spend as much time to together as possible!”
Beca’s stomach dropped as her mind blanked. “Oh. Okay, cool. Uh, I guess me an Amy can disappear for a couple of days.”
And every time we talk                               Every single word builds up to this moment                               And I gotta convince myself I don't want it                              Even though I do (even though I do)
“Beca? What’s wrong?” A tentative hand gripped her wrist, imploring Beca to talk. Beca shook it off.
“Nothing’s wrong, Chloe. I’ll go let Amy know about Chicago, okay?”
Beca fled in search of Amy. Tears trying to escape at the breaking of her heart.
“Hey short stack, what’s up?” Amy pulled Beca back from the thoughts running through her mind.
Beca glanced at the blonde, the only one to know of Beca’s feelings for Chloe, before answering. “Chicago is coming to stay for a little bit. Ask Chloe for more details. Sit next to me.”
Beca pulled Amy into the seat next to her to prevent anyone else from trying to sit next to her. The other Bellas shot worried looks at Beca and Amy as Beca shut-out everything with her headphones on.
You could break my heart in two                                   But when it heals, it beats for you                                   I know it's forward, but it's true
***
Chloe cornered her three days after they returned. She’d managed to get a total of four consecutive days off from the clinic to spend with Chicago while he was in town for two weeks.
“Beca. We need to talk.” Chloe’s arms were crossed with a glare that had only been directed at Beca once, on the retreat during Senior year.
Beca cringed. She’d been avoiding Chloe while Chicago was here. She hadn’t wanted to be reminded that she had lost Chloe. The jealousy was eating her alive.
I wanna hold you when I'm not supposed to                              When I'm lying close to someone else                              You're stuck in my head and I can't get you out of it                              If I could do it all again                              I know I'd go back to you                             I know I'd go back to you                            I know I'd go back to you
“Now isn’t the best time, Chlo. I have to meet Theo.” She lied.
“No, you don’t, Beca. He called me saying you were avoiding his calls.” A foot started to tap.
Beca’s jaw clenched as her shoulders hunched, trying to make  herself smaller. ‘Fucking Theo.’
“What’s wrong, Becs? You’ve been avoiding me since we got back…”
We never got it right                         Playing and replaying old conversations                         Overthinking every word and I hate it                        'Cause it's not me ('cause it's not me)                         And what's the point in hiding?                        Everybody knows we got unfinished business                        And I'll regret it if I didn't say                       This isn't what it could be (isn't what it could be)
The pleading hurt, more than Beca thought it could. It tugged at the part that wanted Chloe to be happy more than anything else.
“It’s nothing. Just, just drop it Chloe! Please.” Beca knew she was begging. She couldn’t handle this. Chloe meant too much to just throw away, she just needed some time to adjust to the new dynamic.
“It’s obviously something! You can’t even look at me!” Chloe’s voice cracked.
You could break my heart in two                          But when it heals, it beats for you                          I know it's forward, but it's true
Beca flinched. Chloe’s tears pulling down the walls she’d built up only days ago. Her shoulders sagged, the aggression and fight draining away. She was so tired.
“I’m jealous. Chicago was able to do what I couldn’t and I can’t be around that… it hurts too much.”
Chloe’s breath hitched at her confession.
“Becs… I, I don’t know-“
Beca held up a hand stopping her.
I wanna hold you when I'm not supposed to                      When I'm lying close to someone else                      You're stuck in my head and I can't get you out of it                      If I could do it all again                      I know I'd go back to you                      I know I'd go back to you                      I'd go back to you                      I'd go back to you                      What was there wasn't sure                      But I'd go back to you                      I know I'd go back to you
“Don’t. Don’t say anything, please…” she pleaded. “I need to call Theo. Enjoy your day with Chicago, Chlo.”
Beca fled to the coffee shop down the street. A five minute phone call was all it took to have same-day movers and a one-way ticket to LA.
Beca and her stuff were gone by the time Chloe returned home that night.
 -flashback end-
You can break my heart in two                                  But when it heals, it beats for you                                  I know it's forward, but it's true                                 Won't lie, I'd go back to you                                 You know, my thoughts are running loose                                 It's just a thing you make me do                                And I could fight, but what's the use?
The decision had been rash but the distance had helped to at least control her feelings.
The Bellas had all at one point over the last three years tried to get her to contact Chloe. Tried to help mend the rift that her unannounced departure had created between the two former co-captains.
But Beca had quit all social media, only agreeing to the labels’ official accounts that were ran by the public affairs department. She hadn’t wanted to see how happy Chicago made Chloe.
And then Amy had informed Beca that ‘Chlocago’, as Amy had called them, were officially finished several months ago and for the first time in years Beca felt like she could breathe as the lyrics she’d been playing with took shape.
I know I'd go back to you                       I wanna hold you when I'm not supposed to                       When I'm lying close to someone else                      You're stuck in my head and I can't get you out of it                      If I could do it all again                     I know I'd go back to you                     I'd go back to you                    I'll go back to you                    I know I'd go back to you                   (I'd go back to you, I'd go back to you)                   I know I'd go back to you                  (Go back to you, go back to you)                   (Go back to you, go back to you)                  (Go back to you, go back to you)
2789 miles away Chloe watched the televised concert as Beca sang her final song. Tears dripping down her cheeks as Beca sang to her.

Bechloe Week 2018 Day 6 - Good Luck Charm
Zombie AU
This ended up being waaay longer than I expected. And made me really want to write a multi-chap zombie AU... We'll see if I ever get around to that...
AO3 link
Chloe ducked under the gap in the fence, dropping the panel that would hide the entrance to their camp.
A breath escaped as she leaned against the fence for just a second. It was a false sense of security she knew but it helped make it seem as though the entire world hadn’t ended.
Quiet voices filtered through the gaps between run-down buildings as Chloe made her way to the communal area.
Amy was the first to notice her approach. “Ginger! You survived!”
Chloe’s eye twitched at the welcome. Amy had a knack for making the worst comments.
“Yeah, Ames. Still kicking. Hey, Lilly, I found some something I think you’re gonna like.” Chloe said as she pulled the rucksack off her back and settled next to the quiet weapons expert.
Lilly glanced at Chloe before peeking into the bag. A gasp pulled the attention of those around them as Lilly grabbed the bag and retreated back to her forge.
Chloe chuckled, “guess she liked it.”
Stacie settled in where Lilly had vacated and slung an arm around Chloe’s shoulders. “Care to share with the group how your adventure went today? Aubrey was pissed you ducked out on partner assignments again this morning.”
Chloe’s shoulders hunched as the unease slithered in her stomach. “Sorry. I know you had to deal with calming her down…”
Stacie shrugged, her partner was a difficult person and she loved that about Aubrey, “Yes, still doesn’t explain where you wandered off to. Or if we’d see you again.”
Chloe winced, “Emily… I can’t…”
Chloe faltered as the tears started and Stacie pulled her into a hug, rocking the two of them.
Stacie understood to an extent, Emily was her younger sister, and not a day went by that she didn’t miss her. But she hadn’t witnessed Emily’s death, she hadn’t seen what Chloe had, the way the zombies had swarmed the three of them; how Emily had distracted the hoard so Chloe and Jesse could flee, how she had stolen Chloe’s last ditch effort—a grenade—and cooked it until she had no hope of escaping herself.
Chloe couldn’t handle that happening again. She couldn’t watch another person die for her.
Shouts distracted the group from Chloe and Stacie as Aubrey and Jesse stumbled into the camp lugging a body between them.
Stacie took control as they placed the body on the table that she’d turned into a surgery station.
“What happened?”
Jesse rambled about finding her after avoiding a horde that had fallen into a trap. She’d cornered them with a shotgun before collapsing and Jesse had fought Aubrey on bringing her back here for help.
Stacie nodded through his retelling as she stripped the stranger’s shirt from her looking for obvious injuries and bite marks.
“Chloe!”
Chloe jerked from her stupor as Stacie called her over.
“Jesse, Bree, go get some food from Amy and rest up. I’ll have Chloe help me with this for now, okay?”
Chloe watched as Aubrey pressed her lips together and fought the scathing comments she wanted to make. Instead she nodded and marched off, saying nothing as she dragged a hapless Jesse behind her.
“I’m so dead once this is over…”
Stacie snorted as she resumed her inspection. “Help me roll her to the side.”
Chloe did as instructed, now able to see the girl for the first time. Unkempt shoulder length brown hair, obscured her face but her tattoos were on full display. Chloe traced the equalizer bars on her back and the flowers curling over her left shoulder, the headphones on one wrist and a grasshopper on the other.
Scars littered her chest, abdomen and sides. Small cuts that looked like they’d been purposefully done.
Stacie hummed as she traced a few of the larger scars on the girl’s arm.
“Let’s get her pants off I don’t see any bites or injuries on her top half. Get that blanket so we can cover her up, Chlo.”
Chloe retrieved the tattered blanket she herself had once used and handed it off to Stacie.
“Okay, lift her back! Alright set her down.” Stacie tugged the well-worn cargo pants off and set them with the shirt. She draped the blanket over the girl and started her exam again.
Stacie hummed again, holding a leg as Chloe kept watch incase the girl woke or turned.
“There aren’t any bites or treatable injuries. I don’t see or feel anything that might be internal bleeding. Best thing we can do is wait, she might have collapsed from hunger or thirst but I don’t want to open up a LRS bag only for it to go to waste…” Stacie readjusted the blanket before grabbing a second one to place over the first.
“I’ll stay while you get food, Stace.”
Stacie turned to Chloe, eyes narrowed as she took in the redhead. She nodded and parted with a final reminder. “You can’t avoid Aubrey forever, she’ll come looking for you.”
Chloe sighed as she watched the brunette sleep. Stacie was right, she couldn’t avoid Aubrey but at least she could put off the inevitable just a little longer.
Her thoughts turned to Lilly and the wrenches she had gifted to be turned into weapons. Some of them would end up as throwing knifes while others would be made into machetes of sorts. Lilly had a thing for sharp and pointy objects and as bullets and gun powder got scarcer Lilly had turned her obsession into a revered skill.
The smell of smoke filled her nose and Chloe smiled. By tomorrow the group would have new weapons.
A gasp jerked Chloe to the once sleeping girl. “Benji!”
Chloe leapt to her feet, hands raised as she spoke. “Woah! Hey, I’m Chloe. My friends brought you back after you collapsed. Do you remember?”
The brunette stopped looking around as her eyes landed on Chloe. “Where’s Benji?”
“I don’t know a Benji. You were the only one brought home.”
The girl’s eyes widened as she struggled to swing her legs to the edge of the table. “When?!”
Chloe managed to catch her as unresponsive legs gave out and she dropped to the floor.
 ‘Oh, wow… her eyes…’
“He’s alone! Don’t you get that?! My brother is alone out there! Please!”
Chloe stood, supporting both of them as the girl panicked. “Hey, look at me.”
Running feet filled the silence as panicked steel blue-grey eyes stared into her own.
“Chloe!?”
“Are you okay?!”
“What’s going on?”
Stacie, Aubrey, and Jesse sprinted around the corner. The others could be heard following behind.
Chloe kept her attention focused on the girl. “I’m okay. Just had to play catcher. Do you remember Jesse and Aubrey?”
The brunette’s attention turned to those now gathered around them, eyes locking with Jesse and Aubrey’s. “Yeah, yeah I do.”
Chloe nodded and turned to them. “Do either of you remember seeing anybody else with her? She said her brother was with her.”
The color drained from both faces as Aubrey stumbled. Stacie wrapped an arm around her waist to support her.
Aubrey shook her head. “No… We didn’t see anyone in the area.”
“I have to go…”
All eyes turned to Chloe and the brunette still in her arms. “Benji needs me.”
Chloe nodded, she understood. “How about getting dressed along with food and water?”
Stormy eyes narrowed in confusion before looking down. A blush erupted as a small squeal escaped. Vigorous nodding made Chloe laugh for the first time in months.
“We’ll see you guys soon.” Chloe said as she shooed the group away.
Chloe helped the girl dress in silence before making their way to the others gathered around a small fire.
“I’m Beca by the way.”
Chloe smiled, it was good to finally have a name for her. “It’s nice to meet you, Beca.”
A bowl was given to Beca and another shoved into Chloe’s hand by Aubrey.
“Uh…” Beca started but Chloe waved her off.
“She’s mad at me, don’t worry about it.”
Beca nodded before digging into the stew-like concoction. A hum of approval sounded as Beca stuffed another bite into her mouth.
Minutes later Beca’s bowl was empty. Chloe watched as she set it aside and waited. Before Chloe could say anything Lilly appeared, tapping Beca on the shoulder. She handed over the wrapped object in her hands and disappeared just as quickly.
Beca looked to Chloe who shrugged, intrigued by the interaction.
Beca unwrapped the cloth and pulled out a short sword made from one of the large mechanic wrenches Chloe had brought back from an earlier exploration.
Beca stared at it. Chloe chuckled as she set her empty bowl aside. “Looks like Lilly likes you. You have her seal of approval to join the group. She doesn’t had out her babies to just anyone.”
“Chloe.” Aubrey called as the two stood.
Chloe flinched, this would be the time when Aubrey chooses to strike.
“We’ll talk later about this morning. Are you leaving with her?”
Before Chloe could answer Beca did. “No, she’s not going. I need to get to Benji. He’ll need water.”
Stacie tossed a water bottle to Chloe, who passed it to Beca. Aubrey scowled.
“Aubrey…” Stacie called.
Aubrey sighed with a nod. “I can’t stop you, can I?”
Chloe gave a faint smile. “Aubs… I can’t…”
Chloe hugged her, trying to convey everything she couldn’t with words.
Aubrey pulled back, holding Chloe at arm’s length as she searched her eyes. “Okay.”
Chloe nodded and stepped back, pulling Beca with her. She waved at the others seated around as they left.
Beca waited a few minutes as Chloe guided her through the camp back to where Beca had woken up. A pack was sitting on the table, fully packed. Chloe handed it to Beca and lead her to the hidden entrance.
“You can’t come with me.” Beca stated, leaving no room for argument.
Chloe smiled. “I know.”
Beca nodded. “Okay?”
“Here.” Chloe said reaching for Beca’s hand.
Cool metal settled in Beca’s palm. It was a necklace adorned with a key.
“My good luck charm. I want you to hold on to it. So now you have to come back.”
Beca smiled, a small shy one that just touched her lips.
Chloe’s heart seized momentarily before jump-starting at the sight.
“I’ll make sure to return it.”
With those parting words Beca ducked through the small opening and vanished into the night, leaving Chloe to hope for her return in the following days.

Bechloe Week Day 4 - Why?
HS AU - Could be same universe as Day 1, you decide.
Short one-shot
AO3 Link
“Chloe! Stop running!” Beca panted, bent at the waist trying to catch her breath as she chased her best friend down the hall.
Catching her breath, Beca resumed the chase, knowing the red head was a creature of habit and would head to the music room.
Beca had heard the news, Tom caught cheating and Chloe publicly dumping him in the middle of the pep rally. It was an epic move on Chloe’s part, but here Beca was, running after her best friend, and current crush, to try and help Chloe in any way she could.
“God… Why do you have to be some sort of track-slash-soccer star? I need to go running with you… I’m so out of sh-” Beca faltered as Chloe’s soft sobs reached her ears.
Beca hurried to Chloe, slumped on the piano bench, head in her hands. Beca wrapped an arm around shaking shoulders and pulled her close.
Time passed, though Beca wasn’t sure how much, when Chloe finally pulled away.
“Sorry, Becs. I know you aren’t a big fan of emotion.” Chloe gave a weak chuckle before another half-sob escaped.
Beca pulled her close again. “Hey now… I might be less emotionally equipped than a rock, but for you? I would do just about anything. Except maybe fight Godzilla? He’s kinda large… and I’m decidedly not…”
Chloe sniffed and chuckled, causing Beca to grin.
“Resorting to using height jokes about yourself, Becs? I guess the world must be ending.”
Beca shrugged, a soft smile replacing her grin. “Well, when you’re hurting it kinda is…
Beca blushed as her brain caught up to her mouth. “Uh… um, shit…”
Chloe laughed as she buried her head in Beca’s chest. The two sat like that for several minutes until Chloe’s muffled voice breached the quiet.
“Why would he do something like that? I just don’t understand.”
Beca shrugged. “Guys are pigs? I dunno what to tell you, Chlo. What Tom did was super douche-canoe approved, but what he did is on him. It’s his fault, no matter what anyone may say, okay? He’s at fault not you.”
Chloe nodded against her chest as Beca wrapped her arms around her shoulders.
“By the way… The yearbook staff got the whole thing on camera…”
Chloe jerked back, the horrified expression on her face making Beca laugh.
“You have to be kidding…”
“Nope! Jesse texted me with a video clip of you smashing Tom in the face with the football team’s victory cake.” Beca laughed again. “It was pretty epic, dude.”
Chloe shrugged a blush staining her cheeks as Beca chuckled.
“I guess it could be worse…”
Beca hummed thinking of how to cheer Chloe up. She stood from the bench, pulling Chloe up after her. “Come on, lets ditch the rest of the day and get ice cream, Beale.”
Chloe grinned, an excited squeal escaping, before darting past Beca, “Race you!”
Beca gaped at the spot Chloe had been standing, “Chloe! That’s not fair! You’re a track sprinter! Wait!”
Beca took off after the red head, cursing her lack of athleticism as Chloe’s laughter echoed down the hallway.

Bechloe Week Day 5 - Road Trip
We’re the Millers’ AU - not quite movie accurate
Kinda short
AO3 Link
Beca glanced down the hall at Chloe’s door. The red eviction notice taped in the center of the door for all to see.
Beca needed Chloe for this plan to work, and she hated that. Her and Chloe were far from friends but she was  the only one that Beca knew on short notice who could help.
“Really, today of all days they have to post my eviction? Great…”
Beca took a deep breath, steeling her nerves, before marching down the hall towards the irate redhead.
“Hey, Beale. Can I, uh, talk to you for a minute?”
Chloe snapped her head toward Beca, rolling her eyes at the question. “Look, Mitchell, I’m not interested in whatever product you have on hand. Nor am I available for a private party.”
“Hey, hey! I’m not trying to sell you anything, mostly because I got robbed and now I need your help…”
Chloe glanced at the younger girl as she pulled her keys out. “You got robbed? How did that happen?”
Beca shrugged and sighed. “That kid, Jesse? Told some muggers I was a dealer… took everything I had…”
“So why do you need my help? It’s not like my stripping skills would magically make them give you back your stuff.”
Beca shuffled her feet, it was awkward enough admitting she needed help, but add in the fact that she’d been crushing hard on Chloe and it was now twice as bad.
“My supplier is giving me a chance to make it up to her… But I need a fake family… to go on a road trip with… to Mexico…”
Chloe just stared with an incredulous expression. “I’m sorry, what?!”
Beca sighed. “Look, Beale, I’ll pay you ten grand to pretend to be my wife for like two weeks. Jesse and Emily have already agreed to be our ‘children’. You don’t have to like me, but I really need your help, please.”
Chloe chewed her lip, thinking over Beca’s offer.
Chloe nodded, “Alright, ten grand for two weeks of being around you? Why not?”
Cheering echoed down the hall. Both women turned to see Jesse jumping and clapping with Emily shaking her head, annoyance with the boy clear.
Beca blushed, Jesse was aware of her crush and had obviously been listening in. “God kill me now…”
Chloe snorted with a small smile directed at Beca. “Seems kinda counter-productive with all the effort your putting in to this…”
Beca shrugged with a smile as she replied. “Yeah, I guess. I’ve got pizza if you want to come over and hear the whole scheme?”
Chloe nodded and followed Beca down the hall to her apartment where Jesse and Emily were waiting.
* * * * * *
Three pizzas and a hour later the four sat around Beca’s coffee table.
“This doesn’t see so hard. It's like one of those super spy movies!” Jesse said, goofy grin in place as he looked at the other three.
Emily shrugged, she’d made it clear she was only doing it for the money Beca had offered.
Beca looked at Chloe.
“Well Chlo?” The nickname slipping out unnoticed.
“Emily will need to clean-up her street rat look. And you need to look less like a drug dealer and more like a parent, but I think we can do it.” She said, agreeing to the plan.
Beca grimaced, Chloe didn’t need to be quite so blunt in regards to her appearance. “Okay both are easily fixable, we’ll do some shopping tomorrow.”
The others nodded standing up to leave.
Jesse clapped, excited. “Oh! What’s our family name?! Are we the Beales? Or is it the Mitchells? Mitchell-Beales? Or-”
Beca held up a hand to stop Jesse’s excited ramble.
“Slow up movie-geek. We’ll be the Millers’.”
If anyone’s interested Amy’s the supplier, Jessley is the DEA family with Aubrey as their daughter who would end up with either Jesse or Emily, idk. I’m not planning to turn this into a full story.

For those interested in the wrench knife/sword in the Zombie AU. I remembered this really awesome blacksmith on Deviant Art from years ago who would make them so I searched him up.
Tumblr media
made by Logan-Pearce on DeviantArt (I haven’t been on that abyss in like 10 yrs and I still remember that dudes stuff it was that Iconic)
But Lilly would have used the biggest wrench in this picture...
Tumblr media
So it would make a decent sized machete. Also artistic license cause blacksmithing takes waaaay longer than I made it seem...

Too Good At Good-byes
I’m struggling with my divorce today, so have some angst.
AO3 link
Set after PP2
Unrequited Bechloe, angst, AU Canon divergence, NOT A HAPPY ENDING
Chloe Beale was a well-known entity throughout Barden University.
If a random student at any given point in time over the last seven years was shown a picture of Chloe Beale they could identify her with little problem.
Chloe knew this. She enjoyed meeting new people. It was one of her favorite to do, because meeting new people meant a never ending supply of friends; people she didn’t have to say good-bye to.
Because Chloe’s weakness was saying good-bye.
It was the reason she was sitting, in the dark, on her bed in the Bellas house, trying not to cry about the end that was coming.
Chloe had told the truth about being scared to graduate; she just omitted part of the reason why.
Chloe clenched her jaw to stifle the sobs trying to escape.
‘Sack up, dude!’ Beca’s voice echoed in her head.
She needed to, she really did, but she couldn’t help it. Today felt like the last time she’d see the rest of the girls she’d spent the last four years with.
It also felt like the last time she’d see Beca.
Beca Mitchell had consumed every waking thought from the moment Chloe had laid eyes on her at the activities fair during Chloe’s first senior year.
The sarcasm and snark the girl used to barricade herself was a puzzle that Chloe had loved unraveling over the last four years, but as she had broken down the barriers bit by bit Chloe had realized that her fascination had turned into infatuation.
Aubrey had been the first to say something and Chloe had scoffed at the notion. There was no way she was interested in the freshman.
Chloe had sworn off ‘relationships’ (other than the occasional hook-up with Tom) after the fiasco that was her sophomore year.
But now here she was, sobbing in the middle of her bedroom, all because of the ‘alt girl’.
‘God! What is wrong with me?! Beca doesn’t like you, Beale. You’ve known this for four god-damn years... Dry your eyes and get down stairs and see the girls off!’
Before Chloe could put her plan into action her bedroom door was pushed open.
Chloe’s head jerked up as Fat Amy and Stacie stepped over the thresh hold.
“Ginga, you okay in here?”
Chloe was unable to respond as an audible sob escaped her.
“Chloe...” Stacie trailed off, unsure of what to say to the distraught redhead as she crossed the room to sit with her on the bed.
Chloe had always liked Stacie. The girl was smart and perceptive and had approached Chloe after Semi-Finals about a certain grumpy brunette.
Two pairs of arms wrapped around Chloe, trying to comfort her. Fat Amy and Stacie had both been avid supporters of “Bhloe” as Amy liked to call it. Both had even tried to have Beca confess whether she was even interested in girls. It had never worked, Beca either changed the subject or out-right ignored the question.
Stacie’s head rested on top of Chloe’s. “It’s gonna get better, Chloe.” She murmured.
Another sob escaped.
“Hey, Chloe?” Jessica’s voice called out as her, Ashley, and Cynthia-Rose walked in.
“Is everything okay?” Cynthia-Rose asked, concern evident in her voice.
“We’re grieving.” Stacie answered, knowing Chloe wasn’t able to.
The three newcomers faces fell, knowing exactly what Stacie meant. It wasn’t a very well-kept secret, except for the one person it pertained to.
They joined in on the hug, knowing Chloe needed it.
“Mama Red? You in?” Flo’s voice echoed in the hallway before she made it to Chloe’s room.
A sigh announced her presence and then another pair of arms joined in.
Chloe chuckled wetly as the sobs slowed to hiccups.
“You girls are the best...” Chloe’s statement was met with hums.
“We’ll always be here for you, Chloe.” Lilly’s soft-spoken voice echoed in the silence. No one was quite sure when she had joined the group hug or how she had managed to end up in the middle of it with Chloe; the Bellas had learned not to question the eccentric girl.
“Yo, Chloe! Legacy has a-” Beca’s voice cuts off abruptly. “What’s going on? Is everything okay?”
The concern in Beca’s voice brought the tears Chloe had only just managed to stop, back.
“Yeah, Cap. We’re just...” Stacie wasn’t quite sure how to explain what they were doing.
“Just showing Red here some love. She’s a bit upset with all of us leaving.” Fat Amy finished. Stacie gave a grateful smile to the Australian.
The girls started to shift, letting go, and moving away as Beca approached her co-captain.
Beca’s eyes flitted from girl to girl until they landed on Chloe still sitting and trying to wipe away the continuous stream of tears.
Stacie shooed the other Bellas out of the room as Beca joined Chloe on her bed, while Chloe tried not to look at her.
Beca took one of Chloe’s hands, sending tingles down her spine; it was a new development, Beca initiating contact, one that never failed to twist the knife in Chloe’s already shredded heart.
Chloe fought the urge to pull her hand away. That would tell Beca that something was indeed wrong, something more than just leaving the Bellas.
Beca smiled, thumb rubbing soothing circles over Chloe’s knuckles. “It’s gonna be okay. Legacy says her mom see her Bella sisters at least once a year. Plus there’s Skype and Facetime. We’re not saying good-bye, Chloe.”
Leave it to Beca to pick up on Chloe’s fear of good-byes but not the fact that she’d been pining after the brunette for years.
“I know, Beca.” It was the truth, she knew the other girls weren’t leaving her.
It was Beca who was leaving, going off to LA with Jesse. Jesse who’d given Beca a promise ring after Worlds.
Chloe sniffed, still trying to dry her eyes. “You said Legacy needed something?”
“Oh!” Beca exclaimed, reminded of the reason she had sought out Chloe in the first place. “Yeah, she said something about a handbook? Do we even have a handbook?”
Chloe gave another wet chuckle, because of course Beca wouldn’t have a clue about the Bella handbook.
“The master copy is in the living room, in the bookcase. Stacie can show her if she can’t find it.”
Beca flashed another smile before pulling Chloe into a hug, making her breath hitch at the unexpected action.
The knife twisted again, Chloe fought to swallow the heart-wrenching sob trying to escape.
“I’ll go let her know.” Beca left.
Chloe was able to hold back until she heard the thumps of Beca walking downstairs.
The sobs wracked her whole body as she curled into a ball on her bed, faced pressed into her pillow to try and quiet the sounds.
A numbness was spreading, starting from her heart and radiating out. It would consume her, Chloe knew. If it lessened the shattering of her heart Chloe would embrace it with a smile.

It’s still Wednesday somewhere...
Post-PP1, really short one shot...
Will be posted to AO3 after vacation. AO3 Link
“What the hell happened last night?”
Beca looked up from her phone, to see Chloe standing at the foot of the staircase, hand rubbing her forehead with eyes squeezed shut.
Stacie snorted back a laugh as Beca smacked the taller girl.
“Dunno, Red why don’t ya tell us?” Amy grinned as Chloe squinted a glare in her direction.
“Becaaaa, please?”
Beca sighed at the begging. She was a hopeless case when it came to Chloe and pleading.
“Here.”
Beca handed over her phone, so Chloe could read the texts from last night that Beca had received.

“Oh, you did more than that, Chlo. Keep reading it gets better.”

Beca snorted as she stood from the couch to prepare a cup of tea for Chloe. “Honestly? I have no idea. I had to google it, but you were right she has an album set for release next year.”
Chloe trailed after Beca still reading through the texts she had sent. “How drunk was I last night?”
“Smashed. When I picked you up I had to carry you to the car.”
“You picked me up? Oh no! Beca, I’m so sorry, I know you were going to go to Jesse’s after studying.”
Beca shrugged with a small smile at Chloe, “No problem, dude.”

Perpetual Sunshine: Friday 22 October 0025 – Ok
Silence echoed in the kitchen as Chloe stared at her drunken text confession. Hundreds of possibilities running through her head on how Beca took it.
“Stop panicking, Chlo.”
Beca’s voice halted her thoughts as she looked up from the phone. A smile that Chloe had only ever seen directed at her graced Beca’s lips as a sparkle twinkled in midnight blue eyes.
“Jesse wasn’t happy that I bailed on him last night. Said that I spent more time with you than him, my boyfriend. And that if that wouldn’t change then maybe I needed to re-evaluate my partner choices. We broke up.”
Chloe reached out for Beca, pulling her in for a hug. “I’m so, so sorry Beca… I should have been here for you last night!”
Beca pulled back slightly, smile still in place. “It’s okay, Chlo. I needed the time alone. And,” Beca shrugged, “I realized that he was right. I was dating the wrong person…”
Chloe’s breath stopped, eye flicking between Beca’s trying to determine what was happening.
“I’d like to take you out on a date, Chloe. If you meant what you texted me?”
Chloe couldn’t process what Beca was saying. ‘No way… Beca did not just-’
“Uh, Chlo? Um, if, you know you weren’t serious I’m sorry, like I thought-”
Chloe pressed a kiss to Beca’s lips, silencing her ramble. She’d waited over a year to do that.
“I would love to go on a date with you.”
Beca smirked. “Are you sure you wouldn’t ‘lobe’ it?”
Chloe shook her head at the teasing. It was totally worth it.

Day 3: Single Parent
Chacie
Creative interpretation of the prompt?
                                             Single Parent
It’d been almost three years since graduation. Three years of learning to let go.
Chloe cradled Stacie to her as the other woman sobbed into her shoulder. “Hey now… Why don’t we change into some pajamas and cuddle in bed and watch some trashy reality TV?”
Stacie nodded, tears still spilling down her cheeks as she followed Chloe’s suggestion and made her way to her bedroom.
Chloe stayed seated on the couch as she observed the slow, listless way Stacie was walking. She had no idea what was going on, just that a text message that read ‘I need you’.
Chloe had ditched the man she’d been out on a date with (her first since Barden) using a vague apology about an emergency. She hadn’t expected to walk in on a hysterical Stacie curled into a ball in the middle of the living room floor.
She’d dropped her purse and kicked off heels during her dash to Stacie, and scooped up the taller girl and settled the two of them on the couch until Stacie had calmed enough to move.
Chloe made her way to her bedroom to change and headed to Stacie’s room. Chloe knocked on the open door and stepped in, closing the door behind her.
Stacie was curled up in her bed, TV playing ‘Total Divas’, tears still trailing down her cheeks.
Chloe crawled into bed with Stacie, who shifted to make room. Stacie curled into Chloe, head resting over Chloe’s heart, listening to the steady thump-thump-thump-thump.
Chloe ran gentle fingers up and down Stacie’s back, caressing the skin beneath the worn Barden Bellas shirt she had on.
Chloe wasn’t sure how long they’d laid there watching the women WWE stars scripted drama before Stacie spoke.
“Do you remember the night I went out a few weeks ago?”
The question was quiet, hesitant almost and Chloe wracked her brain trying to remember the night in question. “I think so…? You went out with a guy from your work, right?”
Stacie nodded into Chloe’s chest. “Yeah…”
Chloe focused on the disheartened tone, the trembling, and the mental collapse she was witness to.
“Stacie?” The fear was evident, Chloe’s mind running rampant with scenarios, each far worse than the last.
“I’m pregnant.” The words were swallowed by a sob as Stacie clutched onto Chloe, a silent plea for help and comfort that Chloe willingly gave.
“Oh baby…” Something in Chloe broke with the heartrending sobs rocking the two women.
Chloe and Stacie had of course talked about children, sharing a house with eight other women had necessitated that, but Stacie had never changed her stance of ‘yeah, some day, sure’.
Stacie wanted kids, Chloe knew that, but to have such responsibility thrust, unsuspecting, onto overworked shoulders would break even the strongest person.
Chloe gave Stacie the comfort she sought with the gentle kneading of scalp and back as she cried out the fear and uncertainty she was experiencing.
“A-a cond-dom and b-birth control fa-ailed….” The words stuttered out between sobs and hiccups as Stacie fought to regain control.
Chloe stayed silent; Stacie needed to speak what was on her mind, not words of solace.
“What am I going to do…?”
Chloe didn’t have an answer to the forlorn question. She hugged Stacie tighter, pulling her closer. “Whatever you decide, I’m here for you.”
“I’m going to be a single parent.”

Day 2: Meet the Parents
I’m late to post (what else is new…) and I wrote this whole thing out of order so being late kinda works in my favor???
Chacie
                                              Meet the Parents
It had been two years since graduation and moving on with her life.
The doorbell rang. Stacie glanced at Chloe, who shrugged not expecting any visitors, both dressed down in pajamas with glasses of wine on the coffee table.
“I got this, you finish up what you’re working on, Stace.” Chloe said as she stood from the couch to answer the door.
It was late, almost nine, and most of the friends they had made over the last two years were either enjoying the Friday night out or working.
Not bothering to look through the peep-hole Chloe opened the door, a smile and greeting dying as the visitors greeted her instead.
“Chloe!” The redheaded couple greeted as the woman wrapped Chloe in her arms.
“I–Hi, uh, what are you doing here?” Chloe asked her parents, shocked that they had apparently decided to surprise her with a visit from Florida.
A gentle hand on her lower back distracted Chloe from further questions as Stacie stepped up behind her.
“Everything okay, Chlo?” Stacie asked, green eyes switching between the small cluster of redheads standing in the doorway.
“Oh, yeah. My parents are here…” Chloe replied, not sure how to ease the sudden appearance of her parents to Stacie, who had never met the elder Beales.
“Oh.” Stacie’s hand on her back retreated.
That one word from Stacie sparked a flash of anxiety as Stacie backed away from Chloe.
“Um, why don’t you guys come in? Stacie and I were just settling down and finishing some work reports.” Chloe said as she stepped aside, allowing her parents to enter.
Stacie had already returned to the couch, laptop settled in her lap and documents in hand, as she compared notes with her colleagues. Her brow was furrowed and lips were pressed thin as Stacie read over whatever was on the paper in her hands.
That look caused the bubbling anxiety in Chloe’s chest to overflow. Stacie was upset. And Chloe had caused it.
Her parents had declined the offer of drinks as the three settled in the living room. Chloe resuming her seat next to Stacie and her parents settled on the love seat across from them.
Stacie ignored Chloe as she shifted on the couch, unsure how to start a conversation with the people she had been actively avoiding for over a year now.
“Not that I don’t like seeing you guys, but I am curious about the spontaneous arrival at our door.”
The older Beales traded a look before her mom spoke. “Well honey, since you told us you and Stacie would be swamped with work and deadlines and couldn’t make it home for Christmas this year we decided to take a trip and see you two beforehand.”
Stacie jerked at that, shooting a look at Chloe that stated “what the fuck?”
Chloe chuckled, a nervous reflex as she addressed her parents. “You took a surprise vacation because I said I didn’t think I’d be able to come home for Christmas?”
“We wanted to see you girls.” The smile her mom gave her and Stacie was tinged with something Chloe couldn’t name, but it put her on edge.
“Okay… Well, I can’t guarantee anything but I might be able to take off Friday, if you’ll still be here?”
They nodded, “We’ll be here until Sunday. What about you, Stacie?”
Stacie choked on the wine she’d just taken a sip of. Chloe rubbed soothing circles on her back as Stacie recovered.
A soft smile was Chloe’s thank you as Stacie responded. “Unfortunately no, I won’t be able to take any time off this week. My deadline on this hydro-electric battery is due next week and my team is in the process of revising and checking our data to make sure our case is solid for the board to fund the project beyond the prototype we built.”
The older couple seemed to wilt and Chloe’s guilt flared. She’d been avoiding her parents after graduation. Their constant questions that had plagued her about Beca and how the brunette was doing in LA had taken their toll and Chloe had withdrawn from her parents while trying to save herself from the heartbreak.
Chloe knew she had disappointed them when she chose to take Stacie up on her offer to move to Seattle but Chloe hadn’t realized how much her parents had missed her until this moment.
“Maybe we can plan to do a nice dinner the night before you guys leave, the four of us?” Chloe asked Stacie, shooting her parents a glance as she focused on the sole brunette.
Stacie’s head cocked slightly as her eyes narrowed in confusion. “I can do Saturday?”
A squeal from Chloe’s mom dragged everyone’s attention to her. “Oh! That’s wonderful! Well now that some plans are in place, Michael and I will head to our hotel. We just wanted to see you girls tonight and get something set up with you two so we aren’t intruding.”
They stood up, Chloe following a confused half-beat behind her parents as Stacie stayed seated.
“Oh, well, okay. I’ll walk you guys to the door.”
As her father hugged her goodbye and stepped out of the apartment her mother pulled her into a rib-crushing hug that pulled a small gasp of pain from Chloe.
“Now you listen to me, kitten. You keep doing what you’re doing and treat Stacie right. Your father and I are so proud of the two of you.”
With another squeeze her mom let go and followed her husband down the hallway.
Chloe closed the door behind her as she made her way back to the living room, still mulling over what her mother had said.
“Well, that’s one way to meet you parents.”
Chloe barked a laugh at Stacie’s comment; her parents were almost as boundary-less as Chloe herself, she’d actually been quite surprised that they didn’t try to stay in the apartment with them.
“Sorry, I didn’t know they were coming. I would have warned you otherwise…” Chloe said, trying to ease the tension that was still present.
Stacie gave a shrug. “It’s okay, I would have to meet them sooner or later, I’m sure.”
Chloe settled back on the couch, in her original position from before her parents arrival, curled into Stacie with arms wrapped around the brunette’s waist. “I’m sorry.”
With the quiet apology Stacie sank into Chloe’s embrace, arms draping over the redhead’s shoulders.
“Was it just me or did my parents seem weird?”
Stacie laughed, relief evident as she said “Thank God! I thought it was me! I didn’t want to say anything in case that was just how they were.”
The two chuckled over the strange behavior before Stacie disentangled herself to stand up and Chloe followed. “It’s about time I head to bed, Chlo. The project deadline is freaking everyone out and there’s no way I’ll be able to function without a solid eight hours. So, I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Good night!” Stacie tossed over her shoulder as she disappeared into her room.
Chloe echoed with her own good night as she cleaned up the wine and glasses they’d been using before heading to her own room.
