His name is not german, it's Germán (pronounced heh-r-mán (or herr mann, if you're german lol), not yé-r-man (how you'd pronounce german as in someone from germany)) and it's a hispanic name lmao, in fact he has talked about how english speaking people insist on calling him german instead of germán even when he corrects them. He's from Chile but lives in the US! :D

i also just want to point out the qsmp members' commitment to like never letting the inactive members die. like dantdm logged on twice and is canonically dead and everyone continues to blame mysterious happenstance on him. spreen is canonically dead and yet people are still like namedropping him even tho the house façade he built has been demolished and also probably consumed by a mountain. they meme on kameto who's barely been on except that time he was a fed spy that was iconic as hell. they just immortalize their members and they're always so happy to see old faces come back and it lowkey makes me emotional lmfaoo like missa barely logged on for a while but goddamn nobody forgot his name bc philza can't go one day without mentioning him and mariana barely logs on but every time fit saw the homeless mariana in roier's city no matter what he'd stop dead and tell it "come home" and when slime came back to the server for elections after having logged off for the last like two months everyone was still excited to meet him bc the others had kept his memories on the server fresh and alive, maxo died canonically in the nuke and pierre pasted his face all over the server, luzu vanished for months and we never forgot him either thanks to the computers and foolish's wack ass family tree. like when purgatory teams were chosen and team red constantly joked about how it would be so over for the other teams once germán logged on despite the fact that germán had only ever logged on ONCE, the way they cheered when they snatched rubius in the split of green despite the fact that rubius hadn't logged on more than twice since march. they just keep the names alive all the time and it's like

it just makes me really happy to see. like it makes me really happy. like the admin team and the members alike are like 'no way in HELL are we letting your memory go' like damn once ur on isla quesadilla you really are stuck as an islander forever :D

here’s qsmp character names in thai script the pronunciation is the same as english i use their native language pronunciation as a reference also so for funsie i’ll write them in both the proper way of english to thai lexical borrowing and in the way that teenagers/internet would write (long story for next time on why) AND if i’d see some thai person with that name

tldr: the template would be “lexical borrowing” - “internet lingo” - “y/n that i would see this name irl”

English Speakers

BadBoyHalo: แบดบอยเฮโล or แบดบอยฮาโล depends on how you pronounce halo - แบ้ด (just the word bad) - the “boy/บอย” part is actually a common name in thailand

DanTDM: แดนทีดีเอ็ม or just แดน - แดน or แดนทดอ (dan + how you’d pronounce the abbr “TDM” in thai) - dan is a common name

FitMC: ฟิตเอ็มซี or just ฟิต - ฟิต - i’ve never seen anyone with this name but i could see this name popping off in the next generation

Foolish: ฟูลิช - ฟูช like foosh - nope not happening

IronMouse: ไอรอนเมาส์ - ไอรอนเม้าส์ or หนูเหล็ก (literal translation of ironmouse in thai) - NO

Jaiden: เจเดน - เจเดน - i could see some interacial/gen z parents naming their child this

Lenay: เลเนย์ - เลเน่ - i could see it i have a friend named เนเน่ (nené) that’s close i think

Nihachu: นิฮาชู (this is weird asf to write in thai) or นิกิ (niki) - นิกกี้ (pronounced nikki) - yesssssssssss นิกกี้ is somewhat common and it’s cute af

Philza: ฟิลซา or ฟิล - ฟิว - yes? but it wouldn’t be “phil” but something like “fill” or “field” don’t ask why (side note: the za part is a super famous part of thai gamer nametag in late 90s so me and my friend like to joke about phil being secretly thai)

Pol: ปอล or พอล idk which is closer - พอล - this is actually hilarious bc in thai/khmer we have the name that spells “pol” too but it’s pronounced more like พล “pohn” as in pol pot

Rivers: ริเวอร์ส - ริเว้อ - yes definitely it’s a beautiful name

Roier: รอแยร์ or รอเยอร์ - รอเย้อ - nope

Rubius: รูบิอุส - รูเบี้ยส - not a chance

Spreen: เอสปรีน - สปรีน (they will pronounce it sa-preen) - don’t think so

I've made a list of names to call the CCs in your tags cause I see a lot of people putting "qsmp" on their tag name when they exist outside of the Qsmp, especially when making content of unrelated stuff (among us event, irl meetups, non-qsmp games, etc)

Most of the CCs have names that are identifiable on their own, but when they don't you usually take some aspect of their streamer name/gamertag (ex. Mariana = El Mariana, Jaiden = Jaiden Animations) so they have a distinct name within the tagging system. For the eggs/NPC characters, since they exist because of the Qsmp and never outside of it, I usually just put their name if its distinct enough (Cucurucho) or "qsmp __", like "qsmp pomme". Anyway hope this helps, and here's to a more consistent tagging system maybe lmao

Sorry my demons so a bunch of stuff happens on the island bla bla bla  but the important thing is that all the eggs get kidnapped and no one (not even the evil federation that runs the island) knows where they are and the parents are told to get on a train to be relocated to some random island until the federation deals with the missing eggs but the train is hijacked and the players are now in purgatory this event was hell

this fucking event was hell on earth. Not only for us, the viewers, but also for the ccs The rules are these: Islanders are separated into 3 different teams Red (aka BOLAS?!?!? -thats their actul name ), Green (aka team green ninjas), and Blue (aka team soulfire)

there is a big evil guy and he is the one that kidnapped the eggs and he runs this event all the teams have tasks that need to be done in a day and the team with the highest score is the winner of that day

The 'ultimate winner' is the team who has won the most days across the two-week period. The winning team gets to choose some of the eggs to come back home with them

then the hell begins im gonna talk about team bolas here cause they are the ones i watched the most but team green ninjas and team soulfire were also very fun  team bolas consists of:

at fistr team bolas tried to talk to the other teams, they didn't start fighting right away because why would they! these people were their friends! the people that helped them and that they made a community with, why would they mindlessly start killing each other? so team bolas tried to talk and the other teams respond by killing them over and over 

and over 

and over 

and over again they kept killing team bolas even tho they only wanted to talk| at the end of the first day team bolas was fucking depressed as fuck they also went insane yk jaiden, jaiden animation ? if you don't she is an animator and is generally kid-friendly and doesn't swear super much im saying this because one of the most popular clips from the purgatory even was her screaming “kill yourself” from the top of her lungs i don't have the clip saved but if i find it ill send it to you is so funny anyway, so yeah team bolas went insane they all started wearing these gas masks and it looks so fucking cool 

oh and the ccs wore actual gas masks irl look

also everyone (but especially baghera and cellbit) got super attached to phil and started calling him dad, an now baghera has trauma and is super clingy to phil cause she sees him as a father figure 

also everyone on team bolas HATES bbh i hope he dies and burns and is tortured eternally <33

(bbh was fucking ruthless and was a notorious spawn killer and gave everyone but especially charlie trauma)

but after the disaster that were the first couple of days team bolas made an insane comeback and manage to fucking win the event!!!

so in conclusion bolas forever <3

there are a lot of more fun moments from the purgatory event (like charlie terrorizing quackity, everyone going insane when carre logged in, that one time charlie pretended to be wilbur) but these were the basics of team bolas

AH THIS IS SO UP MY ALLEY, GOSH I LOVE THE MASKS. I for sure need to watch the vods, team bolas basically had everyone in it that im intrested in watching omg. I love the insanity but also the companionship of just losing it together. I love some minecraft killing game stuff (big life series fan lol) OH YEAH I SAW THAT PHILS HARDCORE WORLD LORE WAS CANON?? Ive watched phil a little before he joined the dsmp and I watched him religiously until 2022 so I know the lore of the hardcore world and I AM VERY ATTACHED TO IT. LMAO well then I guess I should update you on the latest additions from today which are Lenay and Germán! Two spanish speaking cc’s who I’ve heard are very well known and beloved in the community!

(Also from what my Twitter tl is saying they’re a couple and they’re commonly thought of as the mom and dad of the community which is adorable)
