"Heart of Trespia" Wincy author of the novel answers to players part 2
28/11/2023
🔔 Wincy author of HOT Q&A.
1. Were there scenes in the story that had to be scrapped or replaced?
- It seems to me that all writers do this, even those who write only for themselves.
2. What do you usually do when you can't find inspiration to write a story?
- I have a terrible sleep schedule. I usually run out of ideas due to lack of sleep and my brain shutting down, so I take a nap and then try again!
3. Did Wincy ever have an "Oh, I wish I could change that" or "I wish I could fix that" scene in Heart of Trespia?
- I have a lot of them.
4. How are your cats doing?
- Spoiled and a little overweight because they keep stealing food from each other!
5. Could you tell us a little about Reinhold and Hilde's good childhood memories?
- When Reinhold was a child, he was often sad because he could not, like other children, enjoy sweets and all kinds of desserts. To make him feel better, Hilde prepared him a new, unique salty dish every day, giving him the opportunity to not lose interest in food, because he looked forward to every culinary delight.
6. Where was Uda born?
- Uda comes from a kingdom with harems because she was born not a queen, but a concubine. She was most likely born in Maith or Shaadha, her mother being the foreign bride of a king who reigned before Leoric or Ozer.
7. How many kingdoms were destroyed in Isrion? How long existed before they were destroyed?
- I never thought about what happened so long ago, but some of this information is a spoiler. Xael probably absorbed more than three small kingdoms. Keep in mind that long before the treaties were made, there were many more dwarf states that tried to take over each other until they merged into the five that currently exist. The war most likely ended only after Trespia, Rajahili, Maith and Shaadha were formed and an alliance was formed to prevent an invasion from Xael.
8. Did you want to change anything in terms of the plot or is everything going as originally planned?
- Nothing that I can remember. Sometimes I don't follow the plan, but honestly I don't look back or question the plot points involved. Thinking about this when the work has already been published is extremely unproductive.
9. How did Ellaire realize that she had fallen in love with Reinhold?
- This probably happened at the moment when she became unbearably sad from the realization that she would have to abandon him and return to the castle, and then punish him for what he had done to her people.
10. If you could add another love interest to the story, who would it be?
- Nobody. I've never seen another character as a love interest for Ellaire, not even One or Azzo.
11. What songs do you associate with the main characters of the novel?
- Honestly, I don't know. I never associate songs with my work.
12. How exactly did Reinhold save Cyril? How did their friendship develop?
- Cyril was the leader of a small group of mercenaries from Shaadha. They came to Trespia in order to kill, but were caught and sentenced to execution. Reinhold had just lost Phaedo and wanted someone to serve him who would not question his decisions. He paid the executioner and took all the mercenaries to Piel estate. Even though Cyril had taken the oath, he was grateful to Reinhold for the second chance and for appreciating his unique skills without judgment.
13. Do you believe in astrology?
- Not really, no.
14. What is the sexual orientation of the main characters?
- Ellaire - depends on the player.
- Wyatt - Ellairesexual
- Reinhold - heterosexual
- D'Mario - heterosexual
- Gisella - homosexual
- Delias - pansexual
- Vanora - bisexual
15. Will there be any information about Octobian in a future update? If not, can Wincy briefly tell us something else about this mysterious continent and share interesting facts about it?
- I had ideas on this matter even before writing the ST, but most likely they will remain just ideas. Copyright is a complicated thing.
16. Which fantasy setting does Wincy prefer - European or East Asian? You writes about the first, but, as I understand it, she also reads about the other - in particular, Chinese.
- I love everything!
17. Does Wincy read webtoons - digital comics? I remember you once mentioned that you reads novels in the wuxia genre, but that’s a little different.
- No, I don’t read. Although I thought about transferring my Episode stories into webtoons, I can't draw.
18. How many languages do you know besides Chinese and English? Do you want to learn something new?
- Only these two. At 15, I tried to learn German for a while because of a cute German exchange student. However, I could only introduce myself in three sentences, and he wasn't particularly impressed.
19. Do you watch any TV series? It doesn’t matter: American, British, Chinese, etc.
- Yes! I have subscriptions to Netflix, HBO, Amazon and Paramount+. Before I lost interest in Marvel after Avengers: Endgame, I was on Disney+. Honestly, of their latest films, the only ones I can fully enjoy are Spider-Man: No Way Home and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Part 3".
20. Why the fantasy genre? What attracted you to it?
- Just as readers escape reality by immersing themselves in reading fantasy, I do this by immersing myself in this world from the other side. That's why I love writing fantasy, whether it's epic or mundane.
21. Do you have any favorite authors/writers?
- My favorite will always be Mr. Jin Yong.
22. Will you ever have a live broadcast with subscribers?
- Because of PCOS (translator's note: polycystic ovary syndrome) and because of my age, I feel very unattractive. In recent years, I have been avoiding photos and video calls.
23. What are your interests/hobbies?
- A hobby for people who have time. I don't have time anymore (lol). I like to read and cook from time to time.
24. What video games do you like?
- World of Warcraft was a big part of my life, I devoted about 16 years to it. I also love Dragon Age and Mass Effect from Bioware, although I gave up halfway through Andromeda, the Ezio trilogy, Origin, Odyssey Assassin's Creed, GTA 4 and 5, Tomb Raider - both classic and new, as well as Mirror's Edge.
25. Who are your favorite singers/music artists?
- Too many to list. My favorite work playlist is the music of the Secret Garden (translator's note: Secret Garden (from English - “Secret Garden”) is an Irish-Norwegian duo performing Celtic and neoclassical music.). I can't afford to be distracted by lyrics.
26. Is there anything you would like to master? Some new skill, for example.
- It would be great to be able to fly, but you can only dream about it.
27. Will we learn anything about Maith? There is very little information about this kingdom. Our main characters were not there, unlike other states.
(The question was asked before the previous update).
- I can't spoil it, but I think you'll get some answers.
28. What real countries were the inspiration for the 5 Kingdoms of Isrion?
- Except that Shaadha is very similar to India, the rest of the states are a mixture of many cultures with creative additions.
29. If we draw a parallel with the real world, then what approximately century/period in the real world will coincide with the time in the world of “The Heart of Trespia”?
- None. When I create fictional worlds, I try not to set such restrictions, and also avoid using electricity in a world without flush toilets.
30. Why weren't there any animated CG in Heart of Trespia? Are you planning to add them in a new story?
- Unfortunately, Wincy cannot answer this question due to NDA.
31. What was Phaedo’s fate after he and Reinhold parted ways?
- The players decide his fate. Most likely, after he left Coral Ridge, he found peace in solitude, away from unrest.
W. Thanks for reading and loving the story.

The celebration of love (Wyatt x Ellaire)
Words count: 1273
A/N: That fanfic was written for Authors contest that was on VK to celebrate RC’s fifth Anniversary and first days of spring. (I ended on 45th place out of 100 chosen works with around 400 works that participated in contest)
“Where are we going,” asked Wyatt holding a miniature’s blonde Queen’s hand intertwining their fingers, letting her tug him after her.
It was an early morning on the first day of spring. The birds sing high up trees. The flowers scented like divine nectar. The earth was wet from dew drops looking like a silver veil covering the ground. And everything around them slowly came to life as if waking up after a long deep winter slumber.
“Do you realize that you are asking me that for a fifth time?” she retorted turning her head towards him with a carefree happy smile, gasping out the laugh when he tugged her towards him catching her by surprise.
“Yes, and do you realize that today is your birthday and you should have been sleeping in, not drugging me somewhere through the forest?” Wyatt murmured quietly into the ear of his beloved, kissing her gently just behind it. “Because of that I couldn’t even wake you up properly,” he whispered with a suggestive smile, making Ellaire’s cheeks burn from the promises that it held.
“Yes,” she replied hoarsely. Her brows furrowed as if she lost the thread of her thoughts and her mind got clouded by the promises her beloved’s gaze bear. Her lips parted on a soft sigh and she fell silent until she cleared her throat and started to speak again. “And that was an original plan, but you do know that letting Taki in on your plans was a bad idea and you know that I get too impatient too quickly so making me wait till lunch time would be simply too cruel, so that's why we are going there now,” grumbled Ellaire.
“He didn’t…”
“If you mean he told me that you planned a surprise birthday party on our favorite clearing then he definitely did, but… when he did realize what he was doing he shut up and said no more… Regardless of how much I pleaded, demanded and threatened him. He said that he would better lose his head quickly than be subjected to your wrath.”
“I’ll kill him,” groaned Wyatt, smiling against the crook of Ellaire’s neck.
“You will not,” she giggled, lifting her head and catching Wyatt’s questioning gaze. “I did promise him you will not even think about that.”
“It’s an order of your Queen or else you will meet the consequences of your disobedience, Captain of the Royal Guard,” she added, taking a royal posture.
“Are you threatening me?” he asked, smirking. “You better run, my Queen, or else…,” he said, knowing that whenever they are alone he can do and say whatever he wants to his beloved as it was agreed between them, but even before he could finish the sentence Ellaire slipped out of his grasp starting to run towards opening between colorful trees.
Her dress and long blonde hair freely flattered in the wind. Her melodic sonorous laugh joined songs of birds making Wyatt freeze for a second admiring the view. It took him a few seconds to finally start running, a few seconds that would be enough to catch up with her but instead he watched her every move, feeling how the love for her filled his heart to the brim. His happy laugh joins hers, when they finally run into their favorite clearing only to find it’s empty. No friends… no celebration preparations in sight.
“Wait…,” exclaimed Ellaire, stopping abruptly in the middle of the clearing, turning back to meet Wyatt’s amused gaze. “Where is everyone?”
“Did you really think that we would let Taki spoil our surprise for you?” the young man murrmured stepping behind her and wrapping his hands around her waist.
“I..,” she looked around, still confused.
“Let’s go. I think it’s time already,” said Wyatt, taking Ellaire’s hand and pulling her behind him. She let him lead the way looking around the unknown area until they would stop in front of the silvery green tall trees whose branches hung and hid the opening between them. She felt the soft hand of her beloved placed on the small of her back. "Are you ready?" he asked, lifting the veil of branches and leaves, revealing the grand meadow in the middle of the circle created by trees and the lake sparkling on the opposite side of the entrance.
She looked around gasping in surprise. The trees were decorated with with silvery-blue and pink fairy lights. The grand white tent was standing in the middle with its sides lifted revealing a quilted picnic blanket on the grass. The bulk of colorful balloons were floating in the air attached by the strings to each side of the tent. And on the blanket there was a feast. All kinds of meats and pies, pots of stew and jugs of meads in every possible color, different fruits and breads that still were steaming. And there were her friends standing at the side looking at her with huge smiles on their faces. Even Reinhold, who was usually composed and didn’t reveal his emotions much, looked happy and carefree; he was also the first one to break the silence.
“Ellaire, on this sunny morning we would like…,” he started his speech before being interrupted by Ellaire.
“Wait,” she said quickly, smiling at him with a fond smile. “I’m so grateful for all your effort, but today instead of celebrating me, I would want to celebrate us, our friendship,” she spoke, looking at her friends. “Our love,” she added, turning her head towards Wyatt and feeling the light squeeze of her hand in return as if he knew that she would say that.. “Let’s celebrate everything that we are and everything that was born at the place we can call our home. I want to celebrate spring and the beginning of a new cycle of life, but not just me who wouldn’t exist without you, without something that was created so beautifully between people who would unlikely met under different circumstances.”
“I would never expect anything less from you than that, my love,” whispered Wyatt into her ear.
“Wait… does it mean that our gifts will be shared too?” asked Taki, curiously looking at the pile of boxes at the side. “You pretty boy can leave yours for that little lady next to you, I’m not too much into rings you know,” guffawed Taki, before getting elbowed by Gisella.
“You idiot…,” she grunted.
“Taki…,” exclaimed Wyatt.
"What?" asked Ellaire, her eyes widened and her lips parted in surprise as she watched Wyatt nervously take the ring from Delias' hands, who silently walked over to them.
"Ellaire, today I wanted to give you this ring as a token of promise… not in front of everyone, but only in front of you," Wyatt muttered, looking accusingly at Taki, who pretended that nothing had happened. — "But since someone doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut…."
"Hey… I know how, I just…" said Taki, but trailed off as he met Wyatt's frowning gaze, raising his hands in peace.
“So, as I said, I wanted to give you this ring in private, as a promise to always love you and be devoted only to you. As a symbol of the fact that no matter what happens, I will always be with you, loving and protecting you. As an oath that no matter what, I will always be by your side."
And on that spring day, in celebration of love and friendship in the place where everything was born the promise was made to her and the ring of her beloved was accepted, as a symbol of inseparable bond and eternal love.
