Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💗
Hi!!! Thanks for the ask!
This was kind of hard because I tend to be a bit self-critical about my writing, but I think these are my favorites (in no particular order).
Black Sun, in which Ty Lee reflects on her relationship with Azula during and after the invasion on the Day of Black Sun. I really enjoyed working on this one because I got to play with my interpretation of Ty Lee's character (I always took her as incredibly politically/socially savvy) and explore Azula's perspective on Zuko's actions on the Day of Black Sun.
The Matriarch, in which someone tries to assassinate Kuvira and Suyin goes into Dark Matriarch mode. In this fic, I got to explore some of my darker headcanons about Suyin's character and I think it came out pretty well. I also really enjoyed getting to write some tender moments between Su and Kuvira without downplaying the tensions and complexities in their relationship.
Her Favorite Mistake, in which a rookie cop and an up and coming mobster walk into Kwong's Cuisine, and they're definitely NOT on a date (except they totally are). I get really nostalgic about this fic because it was the first ever Linzolt work on Ao3. I think I'll always love it for being the start of this rarepair that I've come to adore.
The Successor, in which the matriarch of Zaofu has a nonbender daughter and a metalbending protege, and each of them grew up feeling as though she had been cast aside in favor of the other. I think I did a pretty good job with the characterization and complex dynamics of Kuvira, Opal, and Suyin in this fic. I also tried my hardest with description and figurative language (which don't always come easily to me) in this story and I think I came up with some pretty good lines and scenes.
A Strategic Alliance, in which Kuvira got adopted by Queen Hou Ting instead of Suyin and she and Baatar Jr. decide to get married for political reasons. The idea of Princess Kuvira is not mine (credit for that goes to the wonderful @the-hopefulpenguin) but I had a lot of fun running with the concept in this fic. The mother and daughter dynamic between Kuvira and Hou Ting basically wrote itself and I would definitely write about them again if the opportunity presented itself.

curious minds want to know: our girl Ming. Our poor retail queen. What’s her story? How long has she been at the shoe store? Has she worked retail elsewhere in Republic City, or maybe in food service? Does she get any good discounts at least or is it one of those shit *employees get 20% off certain items* deals? What does she think about about to get her through the day?
Oh Ming. Ohhhhhh Ming. My baby my darling my prickly little porcupine.
She actually used to work at Kwong's Cuisine, but had to leave after her grip on a tray slipped and she dumped an entire table's order into a wealthy patron's lap. Nobody could prove it was on purpose, but. I mean. Let's be honest. Several days after her departure, the politics of the Kwong's Waitstaff Polycule reached a boiling point, and the restaurant actually had to close for a week. One of her greatest regrets in life is that she wasn't able to witness the drama firsthand, but luckily she's still in contact with a few of her old coworkers, and they were able to fill her in.
Currently she works part-time at the shoe store AND a clothing shop (no sick days, no vacation time, NO discounts😡). She's been splitting her time between both places for five years, and every morning she wakes up and checks the newspaper hoping that at least one of them has burned down overnight. She cried when Kuvira invaded Republic City and her mecha-giant destroyed everything on one street EXCEPT the shoe store (Shoe Store, not sane, stood by itself against its city block, holding darkness within; it had stood so for eighty years and might stand for eighty more).
Ming fully dissociates at work, like she is NAHT there mentally. She's thinking about this or that bird she saw on her commute that day, she's brainstorming ideas for art projects, she's sitting in her Mind Palace winning arguments against strawmen who only exist in her head. On particularly bad days she'll play her mental Customer Fails Compilation (5 hours). Her favorite incident is this one time when she was working the opening shift and a customer completely ignored the CLOSED sign, walked right into the door, bounced off, and fell over.

Faye Wong's January dates may perk up Chinese concert market here (1994)
It is confirmed - Hong Kong pop queen Faye Wong will bring her hit concert to the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Jan 13 and 14 next year.
The Best of Faye Wong Concert '95 may mean a boost for the depressed market for Chinese gigs here. In the British territory, all tickets for her 15 shows (Dec 22 to Jan 5) were reportedly snapped up within two hours after going on sale.
Mr. Jimmy Loh, managing director of Jasper Productions, says he expects the singer, 26, to do equally well here.
He is pricing tickets from $50 to 175 - a far cry from the $300 he charged for the top seats at Jacky Cheung's show here in March.
He says: "The unprecedented ticket-pricing of $300 for Cheung's concert may never come again because Cheung is by far the hottest entertainer around.
"The production costs of Wong's concert is lower because she is relatively new and we are also using a stage with three sides instead of a centre-stage.
"We also hope to lower ticket prices because the turnout for certain Cantopop concerts here has not been too good."
Alan Tam's concert in late July saw the Singapore Indoor Stadium barely 60-percent filled.
George Lam's June date at the Harbour Pavilion was only 80-percent attended, while Leon Lai's April gig had an 85-percent turnout.
The Wong concerts in Hong Kong and Singapore are the first time the China-born is performing together with boyfriend Dou Wei. The Beijing rock singer will play drums.
One can also expect a visual treat from Wong who is noted for her bold image. This is a result of a one-year hiatus in New York in 1992 after recording her first three albums.
She was discovered at the age of 18 by one of Hong Kong's most influential voice coaches, Tai See Chong. He also trained three of the four Heavenly Kings - Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, and Leon Lai.
She made her singing debut in 1990; her first hit was the Cantonese song, Easily Hurt Woman, which inspired a Mandarin version by Cally Kwong.
The track is from Wong's fourth album. This and her subsequent work, Unregrettably Obsessive, sold 300,000 copies each in Hong Kong alone.
The daughter of an engineer and a classical singer who left for Hong Kong from China in 1988, Wong also pens her own lyrics and has been praised for the verses in her hit, Unregrettably Obsessive.
She also has a say in the numbers that go in her albums.
Her latest album, Sky, which hit the shelves more than a month ago, has been hailed by critics as one of the year's best Mandarin albums.
Most of the tracks are originals, and from famous tune-smiths like Huang Shu-chun and Wang Chung-yan.
Wong's style is unrestrained and natural. Her albums like Sky and Mesmerized have an ethereal, dreamy quality and suit her sweet, crystal-clear voice.
Some have come to associate her singing style with that of The Cranberries and her individualistic and alternative stage persona as resembling that of Western contemporaries Bjork and Rickie Lee Jones.
She was even thought to be a shadow of veteran Taiwanese singer Teresa Teng when she first launched her career.
But as Wong moves gradually towards assuming the mantle of Hong Kong pop queen from Sally Yeh, she is displaying an increasingly unique style of singing.
In fact, the young woman pipped Yeh to win the Best Female Vocalist award at the Commercial Radio Hit Awards in Hong Kong in January.
And a week later, she lost the Jade Solid Gold Awards best female vocalist title to Yeh by only a small percentage.
Wong is also the only woman to make this year's list of top-earning entertainers in Hong Kong with an income of $4 million from albums, concerts, movies, and advertisements.
Says Polytechnic student Eric See: "I'm looking forward to the concert since this is the first time Faye Wong is performing in Singapore. The pop phenomenon is hard to miss."

Battle Between Limp Bizkit's Wes Borland and His Ex-Wife Now Involves ... an Album Review?
Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland, who cowrote the band’s “Break Stuff” and “Nookie” and also fronts his own group, Big Dumb Face, is using his ire at how an album review interpreted his ex-wife’s latest record as fuel for a legal action against her, accusing her of defamation. The filing also cites an interview that ex-wife Carré Callaway (aka indie rocker Queen Kwong) gave the same writer for…
