how has the loss of fallen comrades and/or loved ones affected your muse ? has it taught them anything or given them any new perspectives ?

The loss of her parents were devastating to Rayne. It made her shut down completely, and refuse to make friends easily. In fact, she tries not to get attached to anything or any one, never wanting to feel such loss again.

She only acknowledges colleagues and acquaintances when she needs something, and acts very distant. The only ones she really talks to are her cats at the zoo and perhaps a pet if she were to adopt one. Understanding the short lives of animals, she gets attached, only to slowly let them go when their time is up. It’s still sad to her, but it’s microscopic compared to the loss she has suffered in the past.

If she were to lose another loved one, there’s no telling if she would be able to fully recover this time. She would either fall into a deep depression and wither away or fully snap and commit to the monster she is made out to be, forsaking sanity and becoming more animalistic.

It’s actually pretty funny.  Sabretooth had the cats and it looked like he was going to eat them (’cuz he’s a smeghead) so Mystique took them from him and dumped the cats off on Gambit.  I love that Remy’s a cat guy.

The months during and after Rayne broke free from captivity and fled to America are the closest moments she came to to be 'reborn'. She doesn't really believe in 'rebirth', but as she lay on the banks of the 'new world', she felt the most alive as she had felt in a very long while.

Eyes rolled as she led the way to the bedroom, getting herself situated and changed while he spoke. "You're good for other things... I just happen to want cuddles at the moment... is that a crime?" She stood on her side of the bed in one of her oversized band t-shirts and undies with her hands on her hips. "You're being awfully demanding for someone who was about to pass out five seconds ago..."

Taking her time, she got into bed, making sure to fluff her pillow before looking back at him. "You're... joking, right?" Her tone was in disbelief, though she was already tugging off her shirt before she cuddled up with him under the covers. "You're ridiculous..."

"Oh, I see. That's all I'm good for cuddles before I pass out at night. I might be a little insulted by that but then again maybe I'm not." He yawns into his free hand and gets up off the couch, following her into the bedroom as they go to get in the bed. Casey stops and sits down on the side of the bed, stripping down to his boxers and then scooting in under the covers, making grabby hands for her

"You want cuddles, and so do I so get your ass in here before I go to sleep without giving you any and that would be a crime for the both of us." He chuckles as he looks up at her from his place in the bed "But get rid of the clothes first please because I don't want to get red spots on my sensitive skin." Casey then gets a thoughtful look on his face tilting his head to the side
