after few months studying for TOPIK (korean proficiency test) . not hardly. but few times just to realize the exam is gonna be hard, finally the exam day came. I think ive studied 2 days before exam more than I studied for a month combined. Last minute at its best. But ngl, i did study gradually everyday. if its not through textbook, i’ll study just by listening, and reading novels. or tweets.
anyway. today was the day.
I woke up early, studied a lil bit more, hoping the last minute vocabs i found helps. At 11, made dua, asked for my parent’ dua, my dad drop me off to the venue. I brought along my books thinking i can revise before the exam then I saw the long queue for exam registration. “ah theres no way i can read more, gotta find a good place”, went through the long queue handled badly by the committee, suddenly im already at my designated desk. lil did i know my study stopped at 11.

so many people than i thought
“폰을 꺼서 앞으로 보내줍니다” (Turn off your phone and leave it infront)
-Turned off my phone, and gave.
“아이패드도 있으시면 보내줍니다” (if you have ipad too, please leave it here too)
“Oh my ipad” turned it off and gave it to them.
My desk was quite strategic, it was beside the window, not having anyone beside is a blessing. and, I have “goodluck :)” written besides my name pasted on the table. weird. i look at others’, there was nothing. Oh, so sweet of whoever you are, thank you. with Bismillah, i started the first question.
the exam was quite smooth than I thought. I think, for the little effort I put into the exam, honestly, its not bad. Its not hard but its not easy. The time is very limited. I think it was carefully set juuuust nice with the amount of questions. i dont have a second to rest!
the vocabs were okay, its quite, readable? understandable?
the questions were okay, i guess?
the time, was my enemy.
“십본 남았습니다!“ (10 minutes left!)
and I was at question 36 out of 50???????????
I honestly just used my ingenious instinct skill and colored the OMR in. no more comprehensive reading happened.
But its okay.

the pen that they gave and we got to bring back!
I’ve tawakal!! Allah made it easy. I have to always remind myself that its not me, its Allah who made it easy (not that easy but just ok). ALHAMDULILLAH IM DONE.
I now have one less problem to think. i can proudly close my eyes to the topik related youtube notifications now. even, i can turn it off now. i dont have to think i suck for not studying and scrolling tiktok anymore. yuhuuuuu
ALHAMDULILLAH ALHAMDULILLAH. im so relieved.
Also, I met a lot of great people there. everyone was so friendly. a lot of familiar faces. 용기 빌려 다가오고 말 걸고..braved myself to say hi. I was so happy to meet them. everyone’s face was so different before and after the exam, everyone looked so happy.
no matter the result, ive tried my best. and I will accept whatever Allah give me In Shaa’ Allah 🩷
Alhamdulillah. it was a great great experience. im glad i took it.

Life of a foreigner begins !!!
Thailand Diaries: Chapter - 2
Location: Don Mueang International Airport
The flight landed in Bangkok 💙 I took out my luggage from the compartment and started getting out soon because we have to get the "ON ARRIVAL VISA" by standing in the queue and the best part of that day was that the visa fee was exempted till April 30th on the occasion of Chinese New Year celebrations 😉 So if we go fast only, we can get the visa soon. According to our agenda, the estimated time we put for Visa was maximum 2 hours keeping some buffer time. So I hurried out of the flight, ran down the steps. I saw an open runway and a single bus standing and waiting for us to board. Since the airport is bigger, we have to go from flight to the airport in bus 😅 So I slowly went and sat in the bus and started preparing for the race mentally. I checked my watch for the time. Ok the time zone has been changed right !!! So I should change it. I changed the time zone in my mobile to Thailand which automatically got synced to my watch. It was 3:30 before and it became 5:00 within a second 😥
The bus stopped and I started my race to the immigration office. Bharath and Deepak were chasing me behind. I followed the sign boards to the immigration office and saw the board far away written VISA ON ARRIVAL 😇 Adding to that the extra relief was, the place I saw had few people walking around that place. So I was like, we're going to get out of this airport in 30 minutes and we're going to enjoy this trip ASAP. As I went nearby, the board showed right side direction. And when I turned right, the only word which came to my mind was O***
There were 20-25 lines of people standing in the queue and each line had 20-25 people 😥 The feeling was like showing the end card before the start of the movie 😭 I took the immigration form and stood in the line quietly. The line was moving quietly and I heard different voices and languages around me. Thanks to the Thai Airport for providing free WiFi connection for 2 hours as they knew I'll be spending minimum 2 hours there 👌🏻 I sent the conventional "REACHED" message to India and started surfing the net. The bag was too heavy to carry. I put it down, pushed it, kept in the middle, came around, collect it in the next line and repeat the same process for the next 15-16 lines 😅 Sometimes I left it 2 lines behind because of serious mobile surfing and will ask the one standing there 2 lines back to pass the bag from there 🙈
Hours passed by and I almost went past the first cabin of the immigration line 😪 The second cabin had 4-5 lines. So I had a sigh of relief. One Indian came near us and asked Deepak for pen. He said I'm not having even though he had it in his hand 😛 I was not aware of this because I was keenly looking at a cute kid who was running and playing around in the immigration line 🧡 He came near me and asked for a pen and I gave my pen to him. Thanks to my stupidity because that was the last moment I saw that man and my pen in that airport 🤷🏻♂️ To my luck, I learnt a lesson for 10 rupees ✌🏻 I mean 4 Bhat 😜
Finally we came near the officers and before us there was a Chinese old couple and an Indian boys gang standing in the queue. The officer asked the couple for the papers and he was not satisfied with the papers. So he asked them to stand beside 🙄 At that moment we became tensed even though we had all proper papers. The Indian gang was next to them and they passed the officer which gave us a sigh of relief 😪 And next to them, Bharath was standing. He showed the documents to the officer and the officer asked "You came alone ?" Bharath replied, No we are 6 of them. The officer asked Bharath to collect all our documents and meet the officer inside the cabin. The remaining 5 of us went and sat in the waiting area after hours of standing 😇 Sorry Bharath you are the chosen one by fate 🤷🏻♂️
After completing all the process, Bharath came with the verified documents and we went straight to the immigration check. We completed all the process, got ready for the bus trip after emptying the bladder and filling the stomach and water bottle with water. Deepak asked Aacshwin to call Abisugandhan from Aacshwin's mobile because we had put international roaming pack only in Aacshwin's iPhone believing the myth that the battery life will stay longer in iPhones 😅 Don't confuse yourself with what happened to the Airport's free WiFi connection because it was already 4 hours in the airport 😑 We spoke to him and came out of the airport.
Atmosphere in the road seems to be quiet empty since I was experiencing the OMR traffic for about 4 years. Taxiwala was asking for ride. But we started searching for the bus because we have to prefer public transport over private preventing air pollution right ?!?! 😁 Ok I forgot to mention that our budget for this trip is just 30000 rupees and this budget context has nothing to do with our preference of bus over taxi 🙈 Deepak (our official tour guide for the trip) went and asked a security officer for Mochit bus after checking his tour note which he started preparing once we booked our flight ticket 😁 The officer showed us the exact place where the bus will come and already people were waiting in the queue to board the bus. Once again a queue 😥 but this queue was little smaller ✌🏻 I went and stood back a passenger and the remaining 5 were standing behind me. Bus to Mochit station arrived 😇 The bus looked similar to the 570 AC bus which runs from Navalur to Koyambedu. I boarded the bus and took a window seat. It's quiet obvious that I'm going to sleep 😴 So it's bye bye Airport for 4 days as the life of a foreigner starts here !!! 👋🏻

[HM] The Wooden Board .
No matter how hard I try, I will never be a better person than him.
I wondered if he had a chip in his head to store all the answers, or if he had unlimited room in his brain. Everyone in the school knew his name, and all the teachers praised him for his intellectual abilities. I stood immediately behind him in the queue, but none of them bothered to hear my name out, and none of them shook their hands with me. In a sky full of stars, only the brightest one is being noted. Just don’t try to forget that the world remembers only the one who comes first, and my school followed the same *** rules.
I was glancing at the names in the wooden board, which was thrice the size of me. My school had a habit of honouring the one who tops the final exam by carving their name in that wooden board. Every year, one lucky(hardworking) student would get their name on that board. That one student would be remembered forever whereas the rest of them would vanish in the thin air. I wished to get my name carved in that wooden board, but to do that I got to beat the one who never got beaten before. It was impossible to outdo him as he never missed a centum before. I could get my name on the board only if I level him up. He was the only barrier to get my name on the wooden board. And the worst part was, he was my cousin. Everyone in our family praised him for his intellectual abilities. Even my father used to compare me with him, and I hated that the most.
I worked harder than ever, and I did well in my final exams, but still, I was nervous as I never knew if it was enough to get my name on the board. The second hand of the clock seemed to move much slower than ever. My heart almost popped out after seeing the principal on the stage. Our school’s tradition was to announce the name of the top scorer in front of the crowd. After a few minutes of his “blah-blah” talks, the principal took a piece of paper from his pocket. We all knew what it was, and he was about the read the name in the list in no matter of time. The pace of my heartbeat had doubled, and I felt the blood flow in my veins. My jaw dropped after hearing my name. Everyone in the crowd applauded me. I verified with my friend who sat next to me to make sure if I had got that right.
I was on cloud nine as tons and tons of them had congratulated me, and for the first time in 17 years, I was the hottest topic among my relatives. At last, I got my name carved on that wooden board. That was the best moment of my entire life. I was the shining star now.
I always dreamt of seeing my name on that board. I revisited my school many times to admire the wooden board. While I was admiring my name, I accidentally met him. Since the result day, I never got to see him again. He congratulated me for achieving this feat. In return, I congratulated him for scoring the second rank. That's when he said that he was not among the top 10.
What? How is it even possible?
“Have you applied for re-evaluation?” I asked him, trying to console him.
He shook his head sideways and left the auditorium without uttering another word. I never believed in what he said. I ran across the stairs and reached the auditorium to check what he had scored.
What the hell happened to him? Is he sick during the exam? Or Did someone swap his OMR sheet? Or did the computer made some mistakes while correcting his answer sheet? The top-scorer of all time was not on the list of the top ten. How is it even possible? He had never missed a centum before. Dropping from centum to 99 looked reasonable, but dropping from 100 to 86 disturbed my sleep. No one cared to knew what happened to him. Many people said that he lost his marks just because of his overconfidence. Some teachers suggested that he managed to score centum in the practice tests because of his malfeasant activities. Those were the same teachers who praised him once.
Even our principal never bothered to find out what had happened to him. Yes, this **** world remembers only the one who comes first. In no matter of time, I turned to be their favourite, and he vanished in the thin air.
“He always dreamt to wear the white coat, but he never got that chance. He is a clever lad, and I always wonder what happened to him on the day of the exam. Even in his wildest dream, he would never become a doctor again.” His dad said.
After hearing his dad’s words, I decided to apply revaluation on behalf of him. It was illegal to re-check the OMR sheet of the attendant without the attendant’s knowledge, but I did the same. I submitted the re-checking form, which had his signature on the bottom, but it had my address on the top. It took me three hours to practice his signature. I hoped that the computer might have made some mistakes while correcting his OMR sheet.
For the next two days, I was waiting in the corridor, waiting for the postman. After a long wait, the postman dropped the envelope. I rushed to my room and closed the door from inside. I carefully opened the envelope and took the copy of his OMR sheet from it. I cross verified the wrong answers with the result keys, but my attempts to find out the err in the correction ended in vain. Unlike humans, the computer would never make a mistake. But, I noted a strange pattern in the OMR sheet which took my breath away. The interval between every wrong answer was the same. For every 7th question, he opted to chose the wrong option. 7,14,21,28…..98 was an only multiplication table ran in my mind. Is it a mere coincidence? Or Did Someone else swap his OMR sheet?
After a few days, I waited in his street for more than an hour, and I was waiting for his arrival. At last, he showed up. He smiled after seeing me, and I smiled back. I was nervous, and I never knew how to start. I never had the guts to open up. What if he sues me for evaluating his paper without his knowledge? was my only fear which stopped me from asking him.
“Is seven your favourite number?” I asked him by pausing every word and staring at him without blinking my eye.
“Yes, how do you know?” He frowned. It was not a mere coincidence. I felt the goosebumps for the first time in many years, and I turned to a statue. He lost his marks by purpose, but why?
Years passed by, and we lived our lives. After twelve years, I had completed my course, and I was the best neurosurgeon in the country, whereas he was just a professor.
‘You made a big mistake. You would have become the best neurosurgeon if you had answered those questions. You missed the chance of travelling in your Lamborghini, and you missed a lot of things. The list never ends, mate.’ I said.
‘Treating the unknown patient will never make me happy, but taking my dad to the hospital when he was sick or when he had a small sprain in his leg made me happy. I had no idea of how Lamborghini would look, but I am sure that travelling alongside my dad in an unreserved compartment, and offering him a seat when the train was full will bring a smile on my face. No Lamborghini or Bugatti could ever buy that smile. As you know that my dad is a widower, and he sacrificed his entire life by providing the best for me. I am his world, and he is my world. I chose to stay with him than being a neurosurgeon.’
Life is not all about winning the race, it’s all about travelling with your loved ones. We live in a world where people overtake each other for fame. In the end, the only thing which stays with you is your memories. I won the race to get my name on the board, but he won the game of life.
The average expectancy of a human is 76 years, which is a mere 27760 days. Getting your name carved on the board, or being a neurosurgeon is not an achievement. Huge sacrifices to spend your time with your loved ones is the real achievement. After all, humanity comes before fame.
No matter how hard I try, I will never be a better human than him.
Living a life without a companion will be the worst days in everyone’s life.
TO ALL THE KIDS.

Oman Visa Update via /r/dubai
Oman Visa Update
So I just landed in Muscat International Airport, from Dubai. The new airport here, which is about 25days old, is wonderful! Here's my visa experience:
I only decided yesterday morning of catching a flight. So from my past experience, the visa for GCC residents took about 5 hours from applying online, to getting it approved. So I thought I'll do the same this time. But maybe because it's a weekend (a long one too), the visa never came through before my flight, almost 24 hours later.
When you walk to immigration after the flight at MCT, they have these dedicated Visa counters for GCC residents and foreign tourists, where we can pay by cash or card (5 OMR for GCC residents). Unlike in the past where we had to queue up at a Travelex counter that only accepted cash (plus whatever FX charges they imposed). So this is definitely a huge improvement from the old airport. The lady at the desk said that my visa wasn't issued online because it's handled by the Police and they probably won't be working on a Friday.
To sum up:
Visa on arrival still available from the airport for GCC residents. It still costs 5 OMR. So unless you are planning your trip at least a few days in advance, don't bother doing it online. Instead just get it at the airport. Process is really quick and smooth.
