MY FIRST REQUEST!!!! I'm REALLY sorry for the delay, I just had to do some research on how to translate certain words in English! I tried my best to make it close to any (very short) episode of the series and understandable for those who have never watched the show :)

A bouncing ball caught attention in the middle of the village. Quico happily threw his ball up and down like a very cunning rabbit jumping. A laugh escaped the chubby cheeks boy's lips:

"Can’t wait to get my square ball!”

The boy's focus made him unaware of another person's footsteps approaching. The kid, poor in money, but rich in heart; El Chavo, appeared balancing a broom on his left foot, almost like a professional.

When he saw Quico, his attention focused especially on the ball. (Not in one of his cheeks, but in the ball of air.)

The broom fell to the ground and he approached the boy:

"Quico, can I borrow your ball?" El Chavo asked, extending both hands. A smile appeared on his face when he saw Quico bring the ball closer to his arms.

"You want?"

"Yes!"

"Buy it!"

The boy laughed, going back to playing with the object. Chavo's anger was visible on his face. Quico's quickly smile fell when he saw Chaves pick up the broom from the floor and run towards him.

"NO, CHAVITO! DON'T-"

He managed to avoid the broom, but unfortunately, the blow was directed at Señor Barriga stomach, which staggered back. Quico gasped in surprise, while Chavo put the broom behind his back, looking away. After getting some air, the adult approached the boy with loud steps.

"¡Tenía que ser el Chavo del Ocho!"

Chavo looked away, stroking the orange strap of his shirt.

"Okay, but don't get angry..."

"How can I not get angry if every time I enter this village you hit me?! Put yourself in my shoes!"

"What?"

"Put yourself in my shoes!" He repeated.

Obediently, Chavo approached, using the man's shoulders for support and stepping into him shoes.

"What are you doing?" He asked, incredulously.

"I'm doing what you asked!"

Señor Barriga took a deep breath, grabbing the boy by the strap of his shirt and pushing him to the side.

"And when did I ask you to climb on top of me?"

"You did when-"

"Silence!"

"Bueno, pero no..-"

"No!"

Señor Barriga furrowed his eyebrows, making the boy flinch. The rent collector walked away from the two boys. His several knocks on door numbered 72 were heard while the two boys argued:

"This was all your fault, Quico!" Chavo said, indignantly.

"And why!?"

"If you had lent me your ball I wouldn't have hit the ball with the other ball!" He babbled, stamping his foot on the floor.

Señor Barriga just glared at Chavo for the comment.

At the mention of the man, Don Ramón's face appeared in the window. He looked both ways, but when he saw Señor Barriga, his eyes widened, making him back away.

After a few seconds, Señor Barriga let out a tired sigh, looking at the children:

"Is Don Ramón at home?" His question made both boys fall silent. Barriga seemed impatient, so he asked again:

"I asked a question. Is Don Ramon at home!?"

"Don Ramon isn't here." Quico responded in a condescending tone.

Señor Barriga scoffed:

"Of course he isn't. He always finds a way to leave every time I come to collect the rent. But I'm sure he's here, so tell me, where is he!"

"But it's true, Don Ramón isn't here!" Chavo said, raising both hands in fake doubt, while Quico covered it up with a brief whistle.

"Is that so?"

"Eso, eso, eso! If you want, I can confirm it for you!"

Chavo said, approaching the window and shouting:

"Ramón Don! Isn't it true that you're not at home!?" The boy seemed to be waiting for an answer, not realizing his own mistake.

Quickly, Sēnor Barriga went towards the door again:

"I knew it! Don Ramón, open that door now!"

The man was clearly impatient. Maybe so many months of late rent had left him with a lot of stress.

"DON RAMON!" He screamed. The hot anger in his blood exalted him, making him open the door to the house.

The moment he entered, the sight of Don Ramón leaving the house by the window was so quick, that even the children had difficulty seeing him.

What can a person do to avoid paying a measly fourteen months of rent?
