Creatures of Dark Manor is a quick memory game for young kids and families about exploring a castle filled with spooky creatures from MJ Games. The few special cards in the game allow players to do things like swap cards around and peek at some cards make this game more interesting for adults to play without making the game too complicated or confusing for kids. Suggested age is 8 and up, however reading is not required so I think kids as young as 5 or 6 will be able to enjoy this game if they aren't afraid of the scary theme and art. We have a brand new shiny copy of Cover Your Kingdom (which we LOVE) from #GrandpaBeckGames to play but we still find ourselves coming back to the original, Cover Your A$$ets over and over again.鈦b仯 鈦b仯 This game is so much fun and always a big hit with the new(ish) gamers, families and kids that we play it with. 鈦b仯 鈦b仯 So easy to teach. It takes 2 minutes to learn and is packed full of back-and-forth stealing of cards, clever hand management, excitement, tension and a tiny bit of math thrown in during scoring for good measure.鈦b仯 鈦b仯 Cover Your A$$ets is a truly fantastic family card game that plays in about 30 minutes, with 2 to 6 players and is recommended for kids aged 8 and up. It can be a bit mean at times so that is something to watch out for when playing with young kids. 鈦b仯 鈦b仯 Designed by #BrentBeck and published by @grandpa.becks.games 鈦b仯 鈦b仯 #BoardGames #BoardGameAddict #raisingagamer #PlayBoardGames #FamilyGames #CardGames #TheFamilyThatPlaysTogetherStaysTogether #gamesforkids #FamilyGame #PlayMoreGames #CoverYourAssets https://www.instagram.com/p/CCM4sA_HULw/?igshid=6tw3iy2nsusj

Arbra Kadabra is a very simple dexterity game for families about building a magical tree. A dice roll determines how many pieces you have to work with on your turn but you get to choose if you are adding or removing pieces of the tree. Every player has 5 pieces that have magical powers that can influence the turn of the next player forcing them to add or remove pieces or skip their turn. There is even a piece that will protect you from someone else using a special power against you until the next turn. The goal of the game is to get rid of all your own pieces -AND- have exactly 2, 3 or 4 pieces of each of your opponents in front of you (you get their pieces by removing from the magical tree on your turn). When you have that on your turn you can add the tree-top canopy pieces (a very large green disk) to the top. If nothing topples then you win. The dexterity side of this game is fairly simple (although you can add your pieces in a staggered pattern making it harder for your opponents). The choice of adding or removing pieces adds some strategy because you have to make sure that you're not setting up your opponents for the win. The game is a lot of fun and has all the familiar tension of stacking/building games. Highly recommend for families looking for something fun to play with kids ages 7 and up.
