~ Trifecta Legacy Rules ~

The goal of the Trifecta Legacy is to go through and experience each pack in clusters of three to get you (me) to quit using the Main Pack that’s always getting used in every save.

It's three parts: CAS challenge, Build Challenge and Legacy Challenge.

~ Freeform style:

1) Randomize an expansion pack, game pack and stuff pack for each generation of the legacy to use for career, hobbies, build and cas. (jamesturner.yt/randompacks) You may end up with a pack you don’t like but you must use some aspect of it within the legacy.  No repeat packs in later generations, unless you don’t own enough packs in any category to finish a full ten gen legacy, in which case, randomize another set for the next gen.

2) Set lifespan to preference. The current generation’s heir may purchase one potion of youth (Or make one in Realm of Magic’s case) to use at your discretion.

If the packs are insufficient in providing necessary items for your Sims to survive, (such as any pack lacking Build items like toilets or beds, or CAS not providing sleep or swimwear) you may also use Base Game items to supplement the generation, but only to supplement what’s missing.

You may reorganize your randomized generation list's generation order but not the packs assigned to that generation. Example, no swapping out fitness stuff to go with snowy escape if that wasn't what was randomized.

3) Depending on your chosen lifespan setting (Short, Normal or Long), your heir must complete at least (One, Two or Three) lifetime aspirations from the provided pack selection from rule one before moving on to the next heir. If there is only one or even no aspirations provided within the packs assigned to that generation, again you may use the Base Game to fill in. 

The introduction aspirations that unlock further aspirations into their category, such as batuu’s Hope VS Order or the Werewolf initiate aspiration, does not count toward this goal, as they’re hiding more, larger aspirations behind them.

4) When the Previous Heir has finished their aspiration(s), the next heir, upon aging up to YA at the latest, must move out immediately with half of the legacy’s simoleon account; preferably to one of their generation’s selected packs specific worlds. Example: Moving out to forgotten hollow for Vampires or del sol valley for Get Famous.

If the packs for that generation do not come with a world, Example: Seasons, then the heir must move to one of the Base Game worlds: Willow Creek, Oasis Springs or Newcrest.

5) Though it takes a bit of research since EA doesn’t label which trait comes from where, Heirs can only take their selected packs’ specific traits supplemented by base game traits. The heir provided with the Strangerville pack having the paranoid trait for example.

6) You may use whatever items are available in the public builds in your neighborhood world but you may not travel outside of your provided world unless it’s within your current generation’s available packs. Example: No going to the spice festival if your current heir doesn’t have access to City Living. Decline any hangouts to those places.

7) Science Babies. If you are going to use Science babies to further the generation for any reason, No having science babies as a single parent. I understand wanting to preserve the pretty genetics of your Matriarch/Patriarch, but it has the unfortunate effect of just copy-pasting your parent sim and all their genetics, such as occult status leading to 100% chance that your sim’s child will be just like their parent, which is no fun.

~ Chronological (Or Time Traveler) style:

1) Take each pack by release date to relive their order of availability, first expansion pack, game pack and stuff pack.for each generation of the legacy to use for career, hobbies, build and cas. You may end up with a pack you don’t like but you must use some aspect of it within the legacy.  No repeat packs in later generations, unless you don’t own enough packs in any category to finish a full ten gen legacy, in which case, restart the pack list you’ve run out from for the next gen.

Ex. from what I owned when making this challenge, since I didn’t buy all the stuff packs, I’d be starting generation 1 with Get To Work, Outdoor Retreat and Spooky Stuff, instead of Luxury Party Stuff which I now own.

Or reverse the order. Most recent releases to earliest.

All other rules from Freeform remain the same for Chronological or Time Traveler style.

~ Trifecta + style:

Do you also have a selection of kits at your disposal? After randomizing or chronologizing your generation pack lists, select all the kits you own and chronologize/randomize one kit per generation to add alongside the expansion, game and stuff packs available for each generation.

~ Challenge rules to add/change for Difficulty Changes:

+ Start a Base Game Only Prologue Generation before diving straight into the packs.

+ Disable unavailable packs and enable them in the generation’s pack order.

+ Instead of taking half the earnings of the previous generation (when extremely wealthy), only take a starter inheritance of 20k simoleons or even less for increased difficulty.

+ Randomize traits, no trait reassignments allowed.

+ Turn off CC and Mods OR Freely use CC and Mods.

+ Cure occult status and opt out of fame on all heirs once goals are completed. (No vampire heir once vampire goals are completed. No spellcaster afterward. Etc. Potions aside from reward store purchases, deleted. Quit the spotlight once goals are met for Get Famous.)

OR

Attempt to maintain occult and fame status upon new heirs. (Vampire sim has a human child? Ineligible for heir status, no turning allowed. Same for spellcaster with no rite of ascension.)

+ Alien legacy families must maintain a secret identity at all times. Only bff’s and soulmates outside of the family may know. How you maintain that secret is up to you.

+ Your heir may collect one personal inventory storable item (or a singular stack of personal inventory storable items, so long as it doesn’t exceed 99) from previous generations to assist them despite pack specific limitations. (Such as a yoga mat from spa day to assist with parenthood traits in a later generation, or a stack of potions like the potion of plentiful needs.) The tenth generation may carry nine other pack specific items into the start of their generation through this method.

+ Attempt to complete the collections from the Generation’s pack selection and pass those collections down to the next heir.
