being a Ted fan is lowkey so embarrassing bc it's like yeah I could've gotten hyperfixated on any of these six main characters and my brain chose the human equivalent of a whiny wet pathetic kitten. no I don't know why. yeah no he says weird shit I just have to watch from the sidelines and sigh. throwing the radio drama at you bc I love him in that so much. I love him. I need to justify my like for him because I feel like I'm a bad person otherwise.

Making the archdemons Ghilan'nain's creations is... Definitely a choice (with a very obvious purpose of putting more "I know we made elves oppressed in this universe and are constantly saying how they deserve it but look at how bad and evil they were! Let's wipe out another clan of those dalish losers that are stuck in the past and cling to their people's history lol" bullshit in), that is just... So so boring and disappointing to me...

I loved the mystery surrounding the archdemons and the blight, the separation between the truth and what in universe characters and organizations (The Chantry, The Grey Wardens etc) consider the truth, making it tied to ancient elves instead of making them even more ancient and incomprehensible than beings like the immortal reality bending evanuris is just... cheep- that's the first thing that comes to my mind I'm sorry. I can definitely get behind ancient elves trying to use the blight in some way but making them responsible for the archdemons' creation is too much.

I’ve pretty much already said everything i want to about Polin part one so here’s my take on what could happen with them in part two:

So obviously based on the teaser it is safe to say that Penelope is gonna accept his proposal and in that happiness she’s gonna forget all about the whistledown sized elephant in the room. Until eloise mentions it to her privately.

Then I think we might get a few fake-out scenes where she might tell him but something always comes up and she never gets to finish her sentence

I think since episode 6 is called romanicing mister Bridgerton that that might be the reveal but she won’t tell him, he’ll catch her trying to print an issue and that’ll lead to an argument the next episode or scene depending at which point in the episode colin finds out.

Ultimately i think Colin might break off the engagement for all of five seconds and then after really getting to think about their relationship and all the moments in it, he’s gonna come back to her, re-propose and tell her he loves her for the first time, all of her. Then we get Penelope telling him she’s loved him all her life and hopefully, fingers crossed, we get some good ol’ mirror sex to either bruno mars just the way you are or cyndi laupers true colors

And i think their wedding might be in episode eight wether it’s the end or beginning of the episode. I truly don’t believe any of the cheating rumors that have been coursing around through this app because never in a million years would that man, who desperately broke up a courtship, got on his knees in front of the woman he loved and begged her to give him a chance, throw all that away just because he was angry because essentially their love is stronger than that and he’s gonna realize he loves all the parts of her the good, the bad, the ugly (there are none don’t worry), the beautiful.

That’s my take on part two and i severely think if we do not get an quartet string cover of marry you playing during polin’s wedding it will have been a fail.

Also I heard there’s like a game night scene in one of the later episodes which colin colossally sucks at but Penelope seems to excel at and now all i can think about is the Bridgerton-in-laws teaming up against their significant others but they (the bridgertons) don’t even want to win anymore because they’re just so horned up by their intellect (competitive as fuck but once their S/O’s get their brains on, they just want to get their pants off)

I’m gonna be completely honest but I hate those people who claim any celebrity even ordinary people are trans. There’s this person on Tik TOK who keeps saying how Gerard Way is transfem, Kurt Cobain is transfem, and FUCKING MORRISSY as a transfem lesbian and it’s just wrong. These are real people not a character you can head canon because they’ve wore feminine clothing. That person has denied the fact Gerard has said he is comfortable with he/they pronouns despite him literally tweeting it on June 7th, 2015 but continues using she/her for them, even saying “I was too generous saying they/them.” respect his wishes. The grunge scene didn’t conform to societies norms and Kurt Cobain wore dresses because of that and also dressing as his wife. He was cross dressing when he was pretending to dress as his wife on stage and cross dressing and being transgender are different things. Morrissey is just so horrible to even “head canon” as he is literally a racist piece of shit plus him saying in an interview, “Unfortunately, I am not homosexual. In technical fact, I am humasexual…I am attracted to humans.” He is connected to lgbtq in ways (he has said in some interviews) but when it comes to gender he hasn’t said anything, let alone being a lesbian. Moral of everything is just don’t head canon celebrities they are real people and just because a man can do something feminine doesn’t mean he is automatically trans.

Finally going ahead and posting this, it has sat in my drafts for several months so... warning: there is a lot of swearing. I remember that orginally I planned for this to cover all of season one but just episode one became very long so...

(sorry for the slight rant in advance)

I always get pissed off when people call Rose a crybaby or a whiner or say that she wasn't that good and X companion was better.

Like what do you expect???? She is 19. 19. Do you expect a fucking 19 year old human girl who works in a shop to be this amazing perfect can-do-no-wrong person????

When we're introduced to Rose she is a 19 year old shop girl who is stuck in this daily routine that she can't get out of. And then, suddenly the world is so much bigger then she ever thought it was before! She meets this amazing man who takes her hand and says 'run'. And when they're in the lift instead of crying or breaking down she tries her damn best to rationalize the situation. When the mannequins start moving her first thought is that it's a prank, because why wouldn't she? Why would she for any reason think that it's alien? And then she starts to panic a bit, yeah. Who wouldn't?

Do you think he could keep a mostly cool head whilst all of that shit was going on? Do you think you'd be able to not break down into a mess?

And then, when she's cornered. A man appears, takes her hand and saves her. But the moment they're in (relative) safety she is immediately asking questions, coming up with theories about what's happening. [ROSE] Very nice trick then, who're they? Students? Is this a student thing or what? [DOCTOR] Why would they be students? [ROSE] I don't know! [DOCTOR] Well, you said it. Why students? [ROSE] 'Cause... to get that many people dressed up and acting silly, they got to be students. She is trying to rationalize, she is coming up with ideas. Talking to the Doctor and he's like, 'Yes, but why do you think this?' And she answers! She just saw him rip and arm off when of those things, and after this interaction she's told her boss is dead.

Then they're outta the lift and she's interrogating him. Because now she has questions, and she wants answers. And the Doctor, is the person who has them. Then she's being told to get out and then her job is blown up!

I think, compared to anyone who could've been in that situation that she did a remarkable job! But, then her life just, dips into a light semblance of normal. Mickey's over, her mum's on the phone. And she has a cuppa and is staring off. And the next day comes 'round, her alarm goes off but her mum reminds her that she's got no job to go to so no reason to get up. The cat flaps rattling and so she goes to check it out and there's the Doctor. The person who has answers.

He comes in, she starts on tea, he nearly gets strangles by the plastic arm. He leaves and she goes after him, determined to get answers. And the two banter back and forth, 'Who are you? / Told you, the Doctor. / Yeah, but Doctor What? / Just the Doctor. / The Doctor?' But then he's explaining it to her, telling her roughly what's going on and she's trying to piece together the information that she's being given. The Doctor does his whole, turn-of-the-earth speech and tells her to forget him.

But that isn't where it stops, later on Rose is searching. Trying to gain more information on the Doctor, and she gets a lead. She goes to investigate it, despite the dangers it might pose. Sure, she decides the man is a nutter but that doesn't mean that his words still don't stay with her. No matter who small. And then the Doctor is back, he's crashing her date, taking her boyfriend's head off and she goes with him because the plastic replica of her boyfriend is trying to murder them. (tbf i'd go to) Then, she's in the TARDIS.

She plainly says that it's alien, the Doctor agrees. Then she says 'are you alien?' and the Doctor says, 'yes. is that all right?' and simply replies with 'yeah.' LIKE, she's so chill about it. This man that she's had maybe 3 interactions with is an alien and she's just kind of like 'ok.' But then Rose is crying and the Doctor thinks it's cause the TARDIS and him are alien but it's because she doesn't know if Mickey is safe.

Then they're out of the TARDIS and trying to find where the Consciousness is, and the Doctor's like 'well, it has to be somewhere big! A giant circular metal disk, must be completely hidden' and Rose is just looking behind him at the London Eye and it takes him a bit to realize and then he's grinning saying 'fantastic'. Before you know it the two of them are running, holding hands.

Then they've found the underground base and hey! Mickey's alive. Then the Doctor is trying to negotiate but then the mannequins find the anti-plastic and there goes Rose. With her bronze in gymnastics, with her no future, no life, no a-levels. But she's got her bronze is gymnastics and she saves the Doctor.

Next thing you know, the three of them are out, alive. Mickey exiting the TARDIS first, then Rose with the Doctor standing in the doorway. And he asks if she wants to come along.

You can see her consider it for a moment before she looks at Mickey, who's clinging to her legs like a child. And she says no. She says no and he looks disappointed but accepts it. He goes into the TARDIS and she vanishes. Rose clearly regrets her choice but she's already made it and is walking away but then the TARDIS is back, the Doctor is back and says 'did I mention it travels in time?' and she doesn't look back, she says thanks to Mickey who says 'for what?' and she says 'exactly' before running on.

That entire episode not once do you see Rose cry or break down except when she thinks Mickey is dead.

As I am all for not informing the creators of a work about my personal aesthetic preferences, as that is the respectful thing to do as a complete rando stranger, I've locked down this post as a space to bitch about the new book.

I did support the kickstarter, probably because of fomo more than anything, but like I'm realizing now that I don't particularly like the art for it. I will never NEVER tell anyone involved with it, but on the privacy of my own blog I can bitch all I like.

“Rina copied pw/rini scenes”

I’ve seen this and “Gina is like the new nini.” all over my TikTok fyp from rinis and pws and it’s simply put not true. There are parallels yes, there are some with madlyn and rina too, doesn’t mean they copied but there are huge and important differences.

Gina is canonically ambitious, her mom wants her to have a successful career. Gina canonically has always wanted to make her mark. It’s not ‘copying’ nini because she’s finally found a chance to do so. It’s not copying nini that she finally got gabriella because Gina parallels gabriella more, they’ve both moved a lot in their lives and were outsides to east high. The most important difference is that gina actually made a compromise to stay. She wanted to stay in salt lake but she also wanted to become a movie star so she found a way to be with ricky, stay in salt lake and still get this incredible opportunity. Nini didn’t make a compromise.

Rina canonically parallels Troyella with the outsider to east-high and outsider to theatre trope, except rina doesn’t need couples therapy in 15 years but you grt the jist. Ricky was extremely giddy and in love with gina for the entirety of season 4 he spent around her. Ricky was so supportive of her when she took over the role of bailey, hr decorated her trailer and recited her confession back to her when he saw that she was nervous, I don’t think he ever wrote a duet with with nini for which he provided the music and she the lyrics, and then told her that he wants to hear everything she has to say or that he never forgot a thing she said. Neither pw nor rini ever had a puppy date or secret dating trope that lasted half the season. They didn’t get a rain kiss and GINA SIGNED UP FOR THE MUSICAL BECAUSE OF RICKY. He ‘had a vibe’ and she ‘had an instinct’. Even in the final two episodes, rina get backstage and onstage kisses which neither rini nor pw got. He literally practiced his “i love you” speech to gina because he wanted it to be perfect, he didn’t for nini. One very important difference and parallel is the potential moving away, Ricky was so supportive once he found out FROM GINA’S MOTHER NONETHELESS and she wanted to tell him from the beginning once they went to meet up in the dressing room. (quinn had to ruin that.) And other that nini, who had already come back when ricky told her to stay and still made a fuzz about it, Gina wanted ricky to ask her to stay and stayed without ricky asking her. Gina never told ej that he “made her feel seen, and known, and understood.” while crying hysterically before she’s about to leave him. Another very obvious and important parallel is the i love you song and once again that was handled a million times better, Ricky was saying “i love you” first. It was not a hail mary or trying to fix what’s already broken like it was when he sang itikyk for nini where he wasn’t actually able to speak out the words. Every single line in that song was how ricky felt and how rina felt about each other. Ricky was actually able to say i love you and not even that but that he was also in love with Gina and that they’re love was forever.

Stay mad that your ship sunk but don’t make-up stuff to feel better and stop saying that sofia wylie only became the main character because olivia left. Just say you don’t want black girl representation and move on. Ricky and gina are gonna adopt a bunch of puppies and get married in 10 years no matter how many times y’all say that they copied your ships scenes and that it only happened because liv left because “their love feels a lot like high school and forever after that.”

the worst part about Record and CD collecting for me are the prices now. I usually get CDs and Vinyl from local stores but I went to Newbury Comics today to find Saviors and I found a couple cd being sold for 20 dollars (it wasn’t deluxe or exclusives) when it’s 14 when I look it up online.
