For the Rayfans in Tumblr that don't use Twitter, here are all skins for the board game!
Tumblr media
The ones in silhouettes are Olympia, Sir Rayelot, Globolk and (likely) Raymesis
If you had to choose 4 alt skins, which one are you choosing? I'd choose Estelia, Olympia, The First King and Raymesis! (Sir Rayelot would be the next one I want the most)
Edit: Sadly, it has been revealed the last figure is Rayman again. In any case, cool figure!
Edit 2: It seems Flyos has replaced the Rayman figure with one that is ACTUALLY of Raymesis!

{starter for @corazcnes with her Peach for the Main/Game Universe}
The Princess would hear that a knight from The Glade of Dreams was making his way to The Mushroom Kingdom to meet with her and Fernando. A group of five humans dressed in viking clothing would sound fanfare with horns. A knight clad in shining silver armor and a dark purple tunic would approach the throne. Another limbless, the knight would kneel before Peach and Fernando as he introduced himself

I like to think most of the skins in Rayman Legends are just costumes worn by Rayman and Globox by playing dress up.
Except for Rayomz that’s just a completely different dude. Rayman has no idea where he came from how he got here or why he’s there and naked. The guy just showed up on day and Rayman is kinda scared of that.
For my own personal head canon- Classic Ray, Adventures Ray, Raybox, Ray Plumber, Ray Vaas, Splinter Ray, Funky Ray, Santa Ray, Rayman Red, Raybolt, Raybeard, Dr. Farayday, Ray-One, Raywiz are ALL just costumes and characters Rayman just made the fuck up.
Raymonz was made after a mistake, where he accidentally went out naked and people assumed it was a completely other guy. He went with it.
Raymesis/Dark Ray/ Bad Ray/ Shadow Rayman are all One person. He wears the Santa Ray 2 outfit so he can contrast Rayman… He also has Sorceray and Samuray
Sir Rayelot, Raymolk, Ray of Persia, Shayman Rayphael and Ray-Gnaar are all one character being my adaption of Tarayzan (who’s name is Shay-Lot or just Shay)
Assassin Ray, Ray-Fucious and Freeze Ray are taken by Rayman’s Cousin Axel
Meaning that all of the costumes are like, compiled into 4 dramatic ass people who couldn’t stop making disguises despite being part of an extremely rare race.
Ray Wolf, Raylatin and Raydoom I’m keeping my mouth shut on. I might not use it I might use it.
Meanwhile Globox is easy
Globox, Adventure Globox, Red Globox Glob Plumber, Glob Cell, Globox red, Glovaas, Grovebox, Globeach, Glombrero are ALL just Globox in different outfits.
Glombrox, Sir Globrax, Globolk, Poglox, Glombie, Snowbox and Sandbox are all separate people… somewhere out there. Terrifying everyone. Especially Poglox.
I can answer for the other costumes too.

Multiple Raymans theory
This is just my own interpretation of the scattered Rayman lore and stories , which is basically all Rayman content I make unless stated otherwise
So I have my own idea of what Rayman’s species is but the gist is that they’re (magic) hand made beings meant to be helpers of sorts , though they’re have their own independent thoughts and personality and don’t always do what they’re were “made to do” (still thinking on specifics like how they’re made and what they’re made off)
The Glade of Dreams has had several heroes throughout it’s existence long before the Rayman we know today and will likely have many more heroes come after him.
The first of these heroes is Ray-Gnarr who was , if not one of , the first ever of the Thingamajigs (no one ever got around to giving the species a proper name). There’s very little known of him personally as his existence was in the time of the first bad dream and Jano’s reign of terror, meaning many Glade inhabitants were too busy running from nightmares to take up writing. What has been found from old writings is that he was the one who defeated Jano and helped banish him to the cave of bad dreams. Various sources say he used only his bare hands and a tooth he ripped out of a beast to fight the nightmare, though some scholars believe that to be an exaggeration and many debates are still had regarding this. The last thing that has been found of him is scrolls telling that he led early settlers to the tops of Mystical Pique, though the details surrounding this is vergue and any attempts to find more information of Ray Gnarr’s apparent last journey has only led to dead ends.
The next noticeable hero to have come after Ray Gnarr and several centuries after him would be Sir Rayelot, though he was a much more odder figure. Various myths and legends tell of an adventurous and mysterious knight who fought many foes and stopped at nothing to save innocent teensies from the clutches of evil, though others have found conflicting written pieces describing how the hero in question simply wanted to have his helmet removed and actually ran away from dragons. There have been drinking games thanks to Sir Rayelot’s conflicting stories , but said drinking games have been banned in most of the Glade of dreams because of the alcohol poisoning, so play at your own risk.
And the one who defeated the terrible Mr dark is known as Rayman! Expect, his not the Rayman you know off
See , the Rayman who fought Mr Dark is a completely different thingamajig to the Rayman who saved the glade from Robo pirates, despite the physical and personality resemblance the two share.
So let’s start with Rayman “Senior” ; He was a very relaxed fello , close friend to Betilla and the magician and lover of naps. He is very sensitive to the subject of his hair and rumour has it he left his fiancée over her suggesting he get a haircut , no he will not explain why his hair looks like a split banana and if you touch it he will punch you in the face. Rayman Senior did casual heroics but his victory over Mr Dark was what made him famous , even if he gets mistaken for the current Rayman in modern times. Rayman senior was a very childish adult to the point he could easily be mistaken for a child and while he loved to be social, he was a humble man and had a strong sense of justice within him in that refused to leave anyone behind (like the fact he insisted to freeing all the electoons before facing Mr Dark)
Which lead to his death by the robo pirates
Than we have our Rayman , made by Betilla the fairy and loved by all the glade as he has the world on his shoulders.
I don’t think I need to explain much on this guy, besides the fact he was directly named after the first Rayman.
Side note- the Valley is a sort of island composed by many thingamajigs , in other areas of the glade it’s not that common to come across them, and having “Ray” in the name is just a really weird coincidence that keeps popping up

“ ✿ ” For Peach and Rayman on any verse
{Game Universe}
Tumblr media
✿ Rayman still uses the Rayelot title and attire when he does duties for Peach. He updates the attire by including a silk cape gifted to him from Peach, and that cape will become part of his regalia when he becomes engaged and married to Peach.
-----------------------------------------------
{CLH Universe}
Tumblr media
✿ Compared to his game counterpart, CLH Rayman may be the best suited for handling a lot of the Royal duties he'll share with Peach if they marry. Thanks to his apprenticeship with The Emperor, he knows a lot about diplomacy, hard decision making, problem solving, and how to fill out legal documents/contracts/and other important paperwork. Peach will no longer have to shoulder all of the duties by herself and they will take turns with handling things with the kingdom.

Of all the thingamajigs aside from Rayman like Sir Rayelot, Dr. Farrayday, or Rayomz who would DD like and who would she hate?
This is where my newness hits me with a wave of confusion because I swore those are costumes and like, not real people? Cause they’re all called Ray-something.
The wiki also says they’re alter egos.
But uh, in a world where they’re separate people
Likes: Shadow Ray and Sorceray
Hates: Rayomz especially but usually all of them. Just, all of them. She would be the one to assume they’re all just Rayman and brush it off, not having much knowledge about her own kind outside of Raymesis.

My Top 25 Games Advent Day 17 - Rayman Legends (#9)
“The Glade of Dreams is in danger, my friend. Go, quickly, wake up our legendary heroes!”
Tumblr media
Platformers are an odd thing for me, and I’m usually more picky about them than I am any other genre. If they’re too hard, not visually interesting enough, the controls don’t appeal or I’m just plain bad at them, I never stay with them for long. But whatever stupidly precise criteria I have for enjoying a platformer, Rayman Legends ticked every single box and I believe it to be objectively one of the best games ever made. I’ve played the likes of Mario, Crash and Spyro, but here’s why I think the latest mainline Rayman title is the best platformer I’ve ever played.
I don’t even remember when I actually got this game, I just have an overwhelming memory of being 13 and beyond obsessed with it. Everything about it just caught my attention and kept it; the colours, the unique design, the awesome music, how it took everything I knew about platformers and removed it. Rayman Legends is the epitome of how you revive a franchise and it’s going to take a lot to dethrone it for me.
Rayman Legends is split into five main worlds, each set within a hub world painting to match the game’s motif and setting within a gallery. As the limbless wonder, you’re tasked with entering each of the five paintings and rescuing the caged Teensies within, making each level that would otherwise be fairly linear suddenly have an aspect of further exploration and encouragement to seek out and investigate what seems suspicious. And as for the worlds themselves, there aren’t any basic weather motifs here (sorry Mario Bros. U). The first is a medieval themed romp through castles and forests (ending in a dragon fight), followed by a fairytale themed world complete with endless fire-breathing frogs, a mariarchi world based around the Day of the Dead, an underwater labyrinth world with imposing metal structures and a submerged mansion and, finally, a world based entirely on Greek mythology. Every level you come across is absolutely packed with incredible detail and each one heralds a unique experience that never gets old. And with controls as tight and fun as these, with Rayman’s diverse moveset, it makes for a platforming experience unlike any other. Even after all this, you sure as hell won’t be short on content either, as the addition of the majority of the levels in Rayman Origins as unlockable extras and an entire multiplayer minigame that’s more addictive than you’d think, Kung Foot, it’s a game that ends up being difficult to put down, even when you think you’ve done everything.
I haven’t even covered what I see as the highlight. In typical platformer fashion, each world ends with a boss, each perfectly crafted with a measured difficulty that provides a good challenge and a whole heap of fun. But these boss fights aren’t the actual end levels, because after that you’ve got the music levels. Whoever came up with the idea of composing a track of a different genre for each world and to create a stage perfectly matching the rhythm of it is an absolute genius. Each music level provides something else wonderful, whether that be a heavy rock or soaring orchestral track or even a mariarchi remix of Eye of the Tiger, it all just stacks up to create a title that’s bursting at the seams with character. On top of this, a bonus world can be unlocked after the main game’s completion containing a whole new music level and a selection of reworked, more difficult versions of earlier music levels. And the greatness of the soundtrack doesn’t stop there, as Legends boasts a score that is absolutely incredible. Each world has a score that perfectly matches its theme and knows exactly when to change up the instrumentation to become epic or muted, matching its intensity to your player experience seamlessly. Big hats off to the composers of Legends for creating a score that not only matches everything the experience is perfectly, but also a score that stands really well on its own. Something else to greatly appreciate about this game is its visual style. To compliment the gallery motif and the use of paintings to travel to and from levels, the game uses a sort of watercolouresque visual style to make the bright colours and vibrant character and level designs stand out. Layers of the world can be seen stretching further and further back in each level, giving the illusion that each painting you enter leads you into a whole other world, with the attention put into the background detail meaning there’s always something else to spot and appreciate if you’re looking for it.
To summarise, Rayman Legends is a giddy explosion of spectacle, colour and creativity that breathed new life into the franchise (that they’ve yet to do anything else with). Like a lot of other games appearing in my top 10, it’s one I can’t stop myself from digging back into every now and again. Rayman Legends is the result of when unbridled creativity and care come together to make a technically and audiovisually stunning experience. Platformers, take note. Ditch the generic world designs, bring back the colour.
Standout Moment Award: Any music level OR the boss fight with the giant wrestler at the end of world 3. Boy, these moments are gonna get harder to choose as we go.
Standout Character Award: Sir Rayelot. Forever my chosen skin for Rayman in any playthrough I do, there’s just something so funky to me about this lil dude in a knight’s helmet.
Tomorrow: No. 8; Out of touch parent wakes up in a pod and finds themself healthier than everyone else alive by default.
