ONE MILLION STORCHES!!!!!

For those who don't follow my twt, you missed the hundreds of millions of rants I go on about Storches. BCUS I LOVE STORCHES!!!

I was peeved by the fact Storches only often get portrayed in one particular way... and even tho they have a fair amount of fanart and fanworks, they don't feel like they have many fans...

It peeves me for many reasons, but I'm not about to get into it here, so you can seek it out on my twt or bsky if you're curious.

Anyways, this handful of Storches was born from that; from wanting to see more Storch variety, and more ways to portray a Storch's anger!! Anger in general really, feels like one of the emotions that gets done dirty the most in media.

I just love Storches soooo much. I LOOOOVE STORCHES. RAYMOO HACKERY. #1 STORCH DEFENDER. STORCHMAXX CENTRAL. I want Storches to have more appreciation!!!!! I will be part of Storch Nation until I DIE. Carry it on my back if I must.

I’m so late to this but I want to do an obligatory follow-up because

Hiii!! This AU is a group project lol

It’s mostly on twt, since that’s the main platform a lot of us use, but we have a silly little group I started called The Raymoots and we’ve been tossing around ideas for ages

(When will we actually make shit? Don’t ask. We have no idea what we’re doing!!)

With this, I’d like to add some of my own works + the full Aggie session artwork :)

It’s not my best work, but it is just concepting so it’s fine lol

Hopefully someday we’ll actually… do smth with this idea… eventually…

We have general story and character ideas but it needs a lot more work lol

Ok I think I'm a bit art blocked rn bcus nothing is turning out how I want it to. Especially that Menreiki artwork I'm working on... it's just not looking right. I thought ah maybe I need to just take a break from that piece and sketch something else. Well maybe I should just take a break from drawing for a bit in general lol. I ended up with this Athena sketch, but I'm not quite sure I'm really happy with it... well people say she still looks very handsome so it can't be that bad lol.

Also, made a little quick rundown on the namesakes of all my Storches. You can probably extrapolate some details about their personalities from there. At a later date, I'll elaborate upon the actual origins of how they received their names (that part is still a bit of a work in progress lol). But for now, have some mythos.

Okkkk soooo on my other social platforms I've been yapping a loooot about my Storch OCs. I mean I did do a bit of an info dump on them here already, but I've made a lot of progress since then. So strap in for another bit of info dumping lol 😋

Starting off, we officially have a setting!! Introducing Lorenz-12, the shitty old facility all these poor Storches are confined to.

As you can imagine, the symbol of this location is the Lorenz attractor. Chaos theory feels relevant to the narrative I have planned. And no, I don't just mean the butterfly effect. As for the number 12... that's just bcus it's my lucky number lol 😼

Moving on, I also created this little relationship chart with some of the most notable relationships I've planned out thus far. Ofc, everyone has something to say about everyone else, but this is just the ones I've made the most work on as of present.

And what's this? They all have names now!! And unit numbers!! Huzzah!! Each Storch has a name from a different mythology that matches their personalities one way or another. Stay tuned to learn about each I suppose 😋

You also may have noticed a new face.. and it's not a Storches face. We have a Star unit in the mix now, Wahnhaft. She's a little.. not mentally sound. Here's a stupid little shitpost-y doodle of Wahnhafts beautiful mind palace.

You should listen to Necromantic. Btw. I also think she'd be a BIG fan of YOMOTSUTICA LOVE. She's very Hisami core.

Lastly, here's a lil WIP of a Menreiki artwork I'm working on. She's trying her best.

Oh and I'm also working on a lil short oneshot. Though currently I'm hitting a lot of walls with it. But here's a little sneak peek of some dialogue between Athena and Menreiki. It's in a very primitive state, so expect a lot of changes.

yapped a bit about Seija on twt and bsky and it prompted me to quickly sketch her ugly mug again

and now, you, folks of tumblr, get my Seija yapfest as well (copypasted right from twt and bsky lol)

One of the funniest things about Seija to me is the fact that even tho there's arguably people out there who's done way worse for Gensokyo than she did, they hated her ass so much they changed the spell card rules for a bit just to hunt her ass down AND SHE STILL GOT AWAY LMAO. She isn't escaping the depression arc tho.. rubbing my hands together evilly 😈. Now here is the part you hear me out on my insane ramblings. All the instances we see of Seija in canon? DDC, ISC, GoU. Manic episodes. I mean cmon just look at her behaviour. Egotistical bastard, having the time of her fucking life just dicking around with Shinmy and her "reverse Gensokyo's social hierarchy" scheme. Caused a right and proper mess of things, pissed people off so bad they had it out for her like crazy. Entire plot of ISC is residents of Gensokyo hunting down her ass and trying to catch her. She's still manic, but starting to wear down as things escalate. She won't let it show though, no way in hell. Not even when Shinmy finally confronts her does she back down. Nah, she doubles down instead. In the end Seija walks off scot free, with all of Gensokyo still hating her guts.. including Shinmy. Seija, prior to this point, never gave a fuck about anyone but herself. She wasn't supposed to get attached to Shinmy either, Shinmy was supposed to be just another pawn, another tool for her to use. But somehow that little inchling weaseled her way into this amanojakus heart, she didn't realize it until after their falling out. Hurt Seija more than she'd like to admit. So what happens? Depressive episode. You ever wonder why Seija suddenly vanished off the face of Gensokyo after ISC? While Shinmy is still active too? I like to think that's why, the whole mess ended up fucking with her head more than she would've liked. She's never had an episode like this before, cus she's never given a shit about anyone else before Shinmy. It's a new feeling, a new edge of depressiveness, and she fuckin hates it. I mean she won, didn't she? Fucked with Gensokyo right and proper just like she wanted. She lived exactly as an amanojaku should, she made a fuckin name for herself in this bitch called Gensokyo. So why does she feel so shitty? Well, what does that matter. What's more important is that she can't let anyone catch her being all "weak and vulnerable", so she vanishes. We never see or hear from her again until GoU. What happened in between ISC and GoU? Between Seija and Shinmy that is. Up in the air... I have ideas... We know a lot about what Shinmy was up to, that's for sure. Yet she still ends up coming back to Seija in the end, as Seija comes back to her as well. I could go on a tangent about Shinmy's side of things too, but just for now I'll leave this ramble for just Seija. But if you want the short end of it, bipolar is just "contrarianism the mental illness" isn't it lol. A creature of contrarianism with bipolar disorder isn't far fetched in the slightest I think. But well, it's still mostly just projection on my end lol.

I am not super knowledgeable in physics and the theory of relativity, but from my understanding, it’s a very integral part of how our understanding of the making of our world works, and is also important to theories such as quantum mechanics (plz correct me if I’m wrong!!)

Which means, if this is the study of how a human mind could have a real tangible influence on the makeup of the world that surrounds us, that is VERY in line with Merry’s abilities

It is shown numerous times that Merry’s mind, initially through her dreams, allows her to open up the borders of the world and travel to places beyond the reality that she is familiar with

As it gets stronger, she can put this border control to more use

But the most important part is that it’s connected to her mind

ALSO, it’s not too far-fetched to assume that it is knowledge in the future that there is some correlation between mind and reality given that Merry’s situation was treated as an illness (it is still said that she did get an actual foreign disease from the satellite, but she also talks a lot about how that experience influenced her abilities too, so it would be a bit odd to say there’s no connection)

So in summary, wow, ZUN really made up something that is super fitting to Merry and is also super fucking cool

we as touhou fans need to consider that merry's major is actually "relativistic psychology" and we need to spend more time trying to figure out what the fuck that means

...unhealthy 'its complicated' storch and starling friendship? Starling realizes Storch is coping unhealthily. Clearly the solution is to let it out in a 'controlled' manner. And hey, getting rid of all that anger means the Starling at least learns a lot of different pain management methods. other emotions uh. anything for a Good Friend. weird toxic emotional codependency, mixed with the two of them bouncing off the other-have i just reinvented phasenraum?

lol it feels a lot like Storch/Star dynamics fall into that category

And don't get me wrong I fucking love siebenjäger, but it feels it kinda set this status quo of what Storch/Star dynamics will be bcus a lot of other ones I've seen follow along similar lines haha

But there is something there, if you switch up the Stars personality

So instead of the Star being a huge shithead like Jäger, they're a lot more approachable in helping the Storch sort out their coping mechanisms haha

It can still have an air of codependency, but it is certainly healthier than whatever the FUCK Sieben and Jäger got going on lmao

It's still kinda similar, but it pushes it enough to get a start on exploring the potential of Storch/Star dynamics even further

Anyways, you really must have 0 media literacy skills if you think any of what I said is wrong.

Tsukasa’s entire fucking character is manipulating others to get what she wants and causing drama. She was manipulating almost everyone behind the scenes in TH18. TH19 is no different (though she ends up getting manipulated herself as well this time around lol).

The rest is subjectivity, so you can’t say I’m wrong. Sure, you can’t say I’m right either, but I’m listing some of the reasons why I personally don’t like oil fire. Plus, most people admitted that the reason they like it is BECAUSE it doesn’t fucking work. They know it’s toxic.

I don’t ship for that reason. Most of this is people just talking about the sex they’d have to which. I do not fucking care. If you read some of the other replies to this tweet, you would see I elaborated even further on why I don’t like it.

If you want to enjoy it? Fine, whatever. But don’t come to me saying I’m wrong as if “oil fire” is totally 100% canon, and I’m not allowed to dislike it for my own personal reasons that can still be backed by Touhou canon.

Hello my friends, I don't have any art this time around (been too busy improving my mf dankagu scores 💀) BUT we have some musics :)

I've made character playlists before, but the nature of this one is a bit different. Y'see, I've imagined Athena has a bit of a passive hobby in collecting music. Mostly came up bcus I would be listening to music and for whatever reason my mind gets thinking, "I think Athena would like this song." lol

So I thought, why not just make a playlist? Of stuff I think she'd like, limited to one song per band/musician. It ended up being a lot bigger than I anticipated, and more varied too... but there's a consistency to it I think? Or maybe my tastes are just too scattered LOL. Well tbf my tastes are just a lot of shit, and this is still only a tiny fraction. Athena's fraction. You'll just have to suspend your disbelief for a little and imagine that they somehow have access to shit like ABBA lol.

Well, I think its somewhat that at least half of this is sappy, while the other half is alt/rock shit lol. Or something like that... I think she'd put on her sappy tracks to share with Menreiki at least. Aaaand then she sings along to them (she is belting all the lyrics completely off key) (Menreiki still loves it).

As for Shous omake, it’s worded a bit whacky, but vaguely enough that it would be reasonable that after the temple fell to ruin and she didn’t have much else to do anymore, she joined her friends underground.

Thing is, Shou's profile quite unambiguously says "[after the temple had fallen to ruin] her companions, who had been sealed away in the depths of the earth, made their return to her."

But yeah, I'm willing to take it as a mistake on Reimu's part.
