Hello my friends, I don't have any art this time around (been too busy improving my mf dankagu scores 💀) BUT we have some musics :)

I've made character playlists before, but the nature of this one is a bit different. Y'see, I've imagined Athena has a bit of a passive hobby in collecting music. Mostly came up bcus I would be listening to music and for whatever reason my mind gets thinking, "I think Athena would like this song." lol

So I thought, why not just make a playlist? Of stuff I think she'd like, limited to one song per band/musician. It ended up being a lot bigger than I anticipated, and more varied too... but there's a consistency to it I think? Or maybe my tastes are just too scattered LOL. Well tbf my tastes are just a lot of shit, and this is still only a tiny fraction. Athena's fraction. You'll just have to suspend your disbelief for a little and imagine that they somehow have access to shit like ABBA lol.

Well, I think its somewhat that at least half of this is sappy, while the other half is alt/rock shit lol. Or something like that... I think she'd put on her sappy tracks to share with Menreiki at least. Aaaand then she sings along to them (she is belting all the lyrics completely off key) (Menreiki still loves it).

With that uhhh enjoy Athena's music tastes I guess? And my extension a bit of my music tastes. Idk what's not to like tho, there's a good number of oldies but goodies in here. Stuff I grew up on thanks to my parents. I mean c'mon, you would have to be crazy to hate ABBA lol.

Hello once again small handful of people on tumblr who actually give a gaf about me lol. I did as I do and ended up rambling a lot on bsky last night. MIND YOU it's fairly incoherent and messy as I was tired, mind scrambled, and in pain. But I still think there's some stuff within here that might be worth some substance. So, all that I'm about to say it's just straight copy-pasted from a bsky tangent I ended up going on (in the replies of my post about my work brick incident idk how it ended up here??).

[Tangent about Athena's mental state:]

Honestly Athena is like... She's seen shit man, she has insane baggage, she is definitely not mentally sound. BUT. When in war, there isn't time for moping around and shit, you gotta get your fucking act together and go. But ofc that bites you in the ass eventually too. But she'd never breakdown, she can't. She still gets flashbacks and nightmares and shit, but she just deals with the cards that were dealt to her and learns to work with it. There's a lot haunting her, but she will not talk about it. The closest you'll get to a breakdown from her is drinking LOL. (It's Menreiki who is prone to those cracks. Her walls are made of fucking glass LOL). There's a lot she has to be in the present, there's no time for the past. She's reliable for a reason, sociable for a reason, she's found ways to redirect those emotions into other more important matters. It's less bottling stuff up, and more reinforced iron walls protecting things. But that's a big reason why she worries so much about Menreiki. Cus she knows where it can lead her, and she doesn't want her to end up making the same damn mistakes she did. The fact they really aren't all too different is exactly what scares her. Dude Athena would put her fucking life on the line for Menreiki, she's devout. A loyal soldier to the end. Sure some things she may never be able to fully lay to rest within herself, but she's still managed to forge something new and damn if she won't do anything it takes to protect it. Big part in why she refuses to bring up her past, yk not only that it's just traumatizing shit but also cus she doesn't want it to impact the life she has now. Mentally, she's really strong. Fucked up? Oh definitely. But those iron walls are solid. Her biggest problem now is that she worries so damn much. Both her and Menreiki. TERRIBLE worrywarts lol. (Well ofc her PTSD shit is still a big problem but it's the worrying and the overthinking that just fuels everything else). Anyways fuck ok this feels like it turned into a really messy tangent and idek if my words are coherent rn cus my brain is scrambled atm and I'm still in a bit of pain. But I hope it makes something of sense..? One day she'll learn to open up a little more about it, I'm sure. I think she'll find she really is just worrying too much lol. Really can't blame her for worrying either. She has so much on her shoulders that she has to bare, it's no wonder she'll be overthinking everything. Just to make sure things go as smoothly as possible, especially in a place like Lorenz-12. There isn't anyone anywhere near as reliable as good ol' Athena.

[This eventually segues into a tangent on Athena and Menreiki's relationship:]

See this is now why Menreiki is worrywart. Well ofc she does find herself worked up too much over little things but. Her BIGGEST worry is concerning Athena's health and wellbeing. She is terrified of the mere possibility that Athena will work herself to death. That's why it's so easy for her to try and toss her problems onto others UNTIL Athena volunteers to handle it and suddenly it's the complete opposite where she's staunchly opposed to Athena dealing with her bullshit. I think about their dynamic a lot but I can never find the words to properly describe their relationship but they make me so ill in the head uwaaaaah my Storch yuri 😭😭😭😭. Uuuuugh dude the more I think about them the more I wish I knew how to portray every little intricacy I've thought about between them in my head I just don't know how. Words don't cut it, idek how I could draw it either. There's just so much. Especially when you have two characters that, when it comes down to it, they don't actually know who they are. Athena was designed a soldier, is still a soldier even though she's long left the battlefield. Who she is is degraded, meshed with her Gestalt donors memories, the life she's lived at war, the experiences she's gained going from facility to facility after she was retired from the fight, before she was finally sent to Lorenz-12 which is where she'll likely remain until her death. At that point, who is she really as an individual? Is she really still just controlled by her past? Will continue to be controlled by it no matter how hard she tries to break free? Even her love is like a soldiers, she never truly left the fight. And Menreiki... Menreiki lives and breathes this mask she's created for herself. This ideal of who she's supposed to be, this neglect of anything she could and should feel for herself. When you live your whole life wearing a face, which face is really yours at that point? Because she will never be that mask she puts on, but who even is the individual underneath that mask anymore? It's been starved and neglected for so long, it's an amorphous mess of thoughts and emotions and woes and desires that are fighting each other to make sense. She doesn't even know if she has any interests or passions to really call her own. Just things she can't, is too afraid, to make sense of. The mask becomes "safe". Protects you from your own self. Whoever that self even is now. Whatever it is is just festering and festering. But somehow within each other, maybe they can find themselves to be a little more "whole". "Complete". Or maybe it's just another mechanism inevitably furthering them down these paths they walk, no true autonomy exists when you're just a Replika, a tool, a pawn in the Nation. I don't have the answer to that riddle though, and they don't either. The road ahead is equal parts terrifying yet comforting, as long as they're together. And maybe there will never be answers, no real answers anyway. But maybe they can at least find peace... who's to say. (And don't say Raymoo they're your OCs you have all the say. Hush. Being an artist is that oftentimes your creations will run away from you and form their own paths, and that's just a natural part of the process. Things will be up in the air, and that's ok. Strengthens the narrative and characters, really).

Ok that wraps that up. Yeah there's something to be said within all that. Make of it as you will.

I have been rotating her like a popcorn bag in my head and just thinking about her in general and wondering if you have yap on her? consider this a formal yap invite. I've been going through your lore posts and i just. i love her. Very kill. I have plans for her and if you dont wanna yap just consider this a pipe bomb filled with good vibes and love for fenrir.

Uhhh yeah ok I can ramble about her a bit. Just have to go back to the shit I wrote down before, my notes and also tangents on bsky cus I just dump my thoughts on bsky mostly every once in a while. Also before I get to that, I saw your comments in the tags about forensics and stuff.. it's like half intentional lol. I don't have as much knowledge on forensics but I just try to go with my gut and what feels right so I'm glad to know it mostly comes across right. She just went swinging and shit. Especially with the idea I had in mind that this is one of her first, if not the first, kills. So I don't think it'd be as "clean" if that makes sense? It feels less like intentionally directed brutality and more explosive brutality lol. If that makes sense. Idk I might just be spouting bullshit LOL.

But generally, her whole thing is that people don't know what she's thinking. There was an idea behind her of being something like, "the type of Storch that Gestalt children would have nightmares about." She is a woman of very very few words. So all others see is her actions. It's excessively violent, which is problem enough in itself, but nobody knows why.

But there's no fucking way she's mindless either. I think if she was, she'd have long been disposed of since now. That's the biggest challenge when creating Fenrir, how do I keep her alive long enough? Fact of the matter is, next to nobody likes her and almost everyone wants her dead. But I have a couple ideas for this. One such is that aside from her penchant for violence, when she's otherwise doing her job, she exceeds quotas. And she gets her team to exceed quotas too. For a place like this, the Nation doesn't care about its residents in the slightest, they only care about the numbers. So if they suddenly see a drastic drop in those numbers by the disposal of one Replika, they're not gonna be happy. Despite her offings, it hasn't severely hindered productivity yet. Cus the thing is, she's being smart with her targets, so she deliberately goes after stragglers who are hardly contributing much to the facilities quota. Only a few cases where things became a bigger problem (such as the offing of her STAR mentor which was the idea behind that artwork), but most of her crimes are actually marked down as disappearances cus they never actually found a body nor evidence to actually trace it back to Fenrir. Of course, she is still the number 1 suspect, but they can't actually pin it to her. Like I said, her whole thing is that she's unreadable lol. Honestly a good chunk of Replikas probably just think of her like, "easy to fly off the handle, don't piss her off of she'll beat you black and blue". But that's not exactly it. Well, you still don't wanna get on her bad side, her punishments for misbehaviour are still fuckin brutal. But she is extremely calculated and patient with her little killing spree. Others think it's mindless, cus there is seemingly no rhyme or reason or goal behind her motives other than pure violence. But again, nobody knows for sure and it's not like she'll just tell you lol. I reiterate, she's a woman of very few words to begin with. There's also the possibility that she's being protected from somewhere higher up... But I'm not saying anything more on that matter 😋

I think it's also kinda funny to describe her as Lorenz-12's ghost story LMAO. With the amount of rumours that surround her. Some say she's got to be something supernatural at this point, some say she consumes the bodies and that's why they're never found, others say she steals the parts, either for herself or to sell off. But nobody ACTUALLY knows, and that's what makes ppl even more fearful of her.

But there is someone who MIGHT know... STAR-L1217 "Wahnhaft". You could say she's, "the one who got away". Attacked by Fenrir and survived. Sustained numerous injuries in the process, but she lived. But she's equally cagey about the subject too lol. But though you might think it's because it was a traumatizing experience, so she wouldn't want to talk about it, that couldn't be anything further from the truth. Even before this point, Wahnhaft had a reputation. It's in her name. "Wahnhaft". "Delusional". Maybe she had a name before that, maybe she didn't, it doesn't matter. Wahnhaft is what stuck. Because for some fucking reason, she was enamoured by Fenrir. Had this idea in her head that she could "fix her" or something. Naturally, everyone thinks that's fucking insane. And she was warned, numerous times, if she kept persisting on this she would eventually end up as not even a stain on the floor like everyone else. And just like everyone told her would happen, she got attacked. Nobody knows what in the fuck went down between the two of them, other than the fact Wahnhaft was injured to hell and back, hanging on to the world of the living by a fucking thread. Being the only one to make it this far, one of the only bodies to have been found, it was top priority to get her back in good health. This could be the witness statement they needed to finally have something against Fenrir. But what a fucking waste of resources that was lol. Like I stated earlier, she refused to say anything. Something changed about her from that point on... but it was something equally, if not even more fucking insane and delusional lol. This enamour she had for Fenrir fucking SKYROCKETED. She ditched the whole "fix her" thing and was just fuckin head over heels for her exactly as she is. Whatever happened is clearly staying between Wahnhaft and Fenrir. Wahnhaft insists it's something special between them. Something is extremely wrong with her too LMAO.

What makes it even more of a special case is the fact that Fenrir is EXTREMELY meticulous and clean about this. She cleans everything up to perfection. She has a whole fucking routine and everything. You just know her post-murder showers are something immaculate LMAO. It's funny to joke that Wahnhaft actually managed to scare her off halfway through bcus she's just that crazy in the head. lol. But I'm not saying it is or it isn't. Nobody knows. Not even me. I don't know. It could be anything. I think it's something better left dubious and strange. A mystery. It's Lorenz-12's noodle incident.

Anyways uhmm yeah I think that's mostly the gist of things? Fenrir is the youngest Storch, not even a year, yet strangely excessively brutal and in equal parts unreadable. But clearly there's more to it than her outward appearance puts on. I have a lot of other ideas I'm pondering with her too. So as always, stay tuned for more lol.

Something different from a Storch?!

I talked a bit about it on my bsky, but not here yet I don't think...

Long story short, I had this idea for an ARAR and EULR back alley doctor/mechanic/scarp dealer duo. Branching out from Lorenz-12 into the surrounding area!! It's still a heavy WIP but, the place Lorenz-12 is in are older style rundown buildings. The machinery is dated, and everything is in separate buildings. For example, the main facility with all the manufacturing equipment is in one building, and then the dorms are in a separate modified apartment complex-like building. There's also a couple abandoned unused buildings around... or what SHOULD be abandoned and unused, except some groups of off the grid Replikas took up sanctum there. Such Replikas include aforementioned EULR and ARAR. There's a sort of unspoken alliance between these off the grid groups and the Replikas of Lorenz-12. They buy and trade products off each other. I have some ideas for other Replikas within this too.

There's more to it, but since it's still being worked on, I'll leave it to this short little summary for now. As always, stay tuned for more!! Might take a swing at designing the EULR tmr... I have some ideas in mind...

yapped a bit about Seija on twt and bsky and it prompted me to quickly sketch her ugly mug again

and now, you, folks of tumblr, get my Seija yapfest as well (copypasted right from twt and bsky lol)

One of the funniest things about Seija to me is the fact that even tho there's arguably people out there who's done way worse for Gensokyo than she did, they hated her ass so much they changed the spell card rules for a bit just to hunt her ass down AND SHE STILL GOT AWAY LMAO. She isn't escaping the depression arc tho.. rubbing my hands together evilly 😈. Now here is the part you hear me out on my insane ramblings. All the instances we see of Seija in canon? DDC, ISC, GoU. Manic episodes. I mean cmon just look at her behaviour. Egotistical bastard, having the time of her fucking life just dicking around with Shinmy and her "reverse Gensokyo's social hierarchy" scheme. Caused a right and proper mess of things, pissed people off so bad they had it out for her like crazy. Entire plot of ISC is residents of Gensokyo hunting down her ass and trying to catch her. She's still manic, but starting to wear down as things escalate. She won't let it show though, no way in hell. Not even when Shinmy finally confronts her does she back down. Nah, she doubles down instead. In the end Seija walks off scot free, with all of Gensokyo still hating her guts.. including Shinmy. Seija, prior to this point, never gave a fuck about anyone but herself. She wasn't supposed to get attached to Shinmy either, Shinmy was supposed to be just another pawn, another tool for her to use. But somehow that little inchling weaseled her way into this amanojakus heart, she didn't realize it until after their falling out. Hurt Seija more than she'd like to admit. So what happens? Depressive episode. You ever wonder why Seija suddenly vanished off the face of Gensokyo after ISC? While Shinmy is still active too? I like to think that's why, the whole mess ended up fucking with her head more than she would've liked. She's never had an episode like this before, cus she's never given a shit about anyone else before Shinmy. It's a new feeling, a new edge of depressiveness, and she fuckin hates it. I mean she won, didn't she? Fucked with Gensokyo right and proper just like she wanted. She lived exactly as an amanojaku should, she made a fuckin name for herself in this bitch called Gensokyo. So why does she feel so shitty? Well, what does that matter. What's more important is that she can't let anyone catch her being all "weak and vulnerable", so she vanishes. We never see or hear from her again until GoU. What happened in between ISC and GoU? Between Seija and Shinmy that is. Up in the air... I have ideas... We know a lot about what Shinmy was up to, that's for sure. Yet she still ends up coming back to Seija in the end, as Seija comes back to her as well. I could go on a tangent about Shinmy's side of things too, but just for now I'll leave this ramble for just Seija. But if you want the short end of it, bipolar is just "contrarianism the mental illness" isn't it lol. A creature of contrarianism with bipolar disorder isn't far fetched in the slightest I think. But well, it's still mostly just projection on my end lol.

Ok I think I'm a bit art blocked rn bcus nothing is turning out how I want it to. Especially that Menreiki artwork I'm working on... it's just not looking right. I thought ah maybe I need to just take a break from that piece and sketch something else. Well maybe I should just take a break from drawing for a bit in general lol. I ended up with this Athena sketch, but I'm not quite sure I'm really happy with it... well people say she still looks very handsome so it can't be that bad lol.

Also, made a little quick rundown on the namesakes of all my Storches. You can probably extrapolate some details about their personalities from there. At a later date, I'll elaborate upon the actual origins of how they received their names (that part is still a bit of a work in progress lol). But for now, have some mythos.

Okkkk soooo on my other social platforms I've been yapping a loooot about my Storch OCs. I mean I did do a bit of an info dump on them here already, but I've made a lot of progress since then. So strap in for another bit of info dumping lol 😋

Starting off, we officially have a setting!! Introducing Lorenz-12, the shitty old facility all these poor Storches are confined to.

As you can imagine, the symbol of this location is the Lorenz attractor. Chaos theory feels relevant to the narrative I have planned. And no, I don't just mean the butterfly effect. As for the number 12... that's just bcus it's my lucky number lol 😼

Moving on, I also created this little relationship chart with some of the most notable relationships I've planned out thus far. Ofc, everyone has something to say about everyone else, but this is just the ones I've made the most work on as of present.

And what's this? They all have names now!! And unit numbers!! Huzzah!! Each Storch has a name from a different mythology that matches their personalities one way or another. Stay tuned to learn about each I suppose 😋

You also may have noticed a new face.. and it's not a Storches face. We have a Star unit in the mix now, Wahnhaft. She's a little.. not mentally sound. Here's a stupid little shitpost-y doodle of Wahnhafts beautiful mind palace.

You should listen to Necromantic. Btw. I also think she'd be a BIG fan of YOMOTSUTICA LOVE. She's very Hisami core.

Lastly, here's a lil WIP of a Menreiki artwork I'm working on. She's trying her best.

Oh and I'm also working on a lil short oneshot. Though currently I'm hitting a lot of walls with it. But here's a little sneak peek of some dialogue between Athena and Menreiki. It's in a very primitive state, so expect a lot of changes.
