how did you make your own website? & how long did it take you to make it? i am interested in web dev,,, do you have any tips or any helpful sites for beginners/ intermediate? (sorry for asking so many questions!)
hey no problem, asking is a great way to learn always!!
i started on my portfolio site i think around september 2022, forgot about it because of work, then went back to it and deployed it around march 2023! i learned a lot at work, so i just applied what i learned from working in web dev to my own personal site
regarding how to start, if you're a complete beginner, i'd suggest playing around with HTML/CSS first since it's kind of the basic building blocks for doing frontend stuff -- for the first few projects you could try copying simple sites like Google's home page :) there are little interactive tutorials you can find online too like flexbox froggy that can help teach diff concepts in a fun way!
after feeling comfortable with it, i'd suggest playing around with ReactJS when starting out with web dev; it's easy to get into because of its extensive documentation and its large community! there are step-by-step guides into setting it up and several tutorials (both video/article)
if you decide to get into actually deploying your stuff and connecting it to APIs, you can start looking into other frameworks like NextJS/GatsbyJS etc.
getting yourself into a web dev project, like maybe making a small notes/checklist web app or your own portfolio site is a fun way to experiment!! the hardest part is always finding the motivation to start them imo :) wishing u the best on ur web dev journey!!!!! 💗

30th May 2025 | Not a Technical Interview
Today was hilarious. I was messaged to my work text app to check if I could do a call that's just a 10 mins chat at 3PM. I was busy outside and mentioned if it could be done on Monday instead.
A conversation happened and I decided that I can do it today at 3PM. I was told it's just a 10 mins chat. Upon the call at 3PM, I shared details about myself. After that it became a technical interview where I was asked very reasonable questions about my knowledge on ReactJS but lots of it were memory based. I knew the answers and I could answer them, but due to not having touched ReactJS for awhile, I couldn't answer them as much as I could have had I revised it.
After the call ended I was told not to worry so much about the technical interview, which is nice haha because while a technical interview happened, it wasn't about that.
I appreciate him saying that and I don't know what they were assessing but it was a funny experience. I of course hope to get it so that I can become even better in my ReactJS. However, if it doesn't go accordingly, I wouldn't in anyway consider that a defeat or disadvantage.
There's also another reason to that that I want to highlight. My senior who very competently taught me ReactJS has moved to a different country. While she's not recognised by one key leader in our old team as being as capable as the other person, who is actually arrogant and seemed like the most skilled developer, she certainly is. Based on my experience with them, they are both quite closely technically skilled, but that other arrogant seeming person seemed to be perceived incorrectly as being the most skilled.
While she has ample experiences under her belt, she chose to work in a startup doing what she's good at. To me, this isn't a setback, but a step forward because it's an experience to learn how to build her own company and how running a startup is like.
With that mindset in me, if I'm honest, I kinda am excited to work in a startup. Not one that's just started or struggling, but one that's promising and well managed by competent leaders. I might move on to do a startup or some SMEs. I'm not sure if doing corporate actually allows me to become better at a faster pace, or even earn the salary that I deserve. It hasn't seemed that way to me and for lots of people who I have spoken to.
All I know is that lots of highly skilled software engineers either stay in corporate being paid well with their high positions and severe stress. Or the rest, who move on to start their own startups or companies. If I'm honest, owning a company and managing one, even if it were much smaller in scale or may earn less, sounds more like success to me than those who stayed in corporate. However, in no way do I mean that corporate is bad or always worse, I'm mostly referring to this in the context of middle-aged highly skilled software engineering workers. Working in corporate has lots of benefits as well, but for sure it's not significantly better an experience than running your own startup/business or company, where you actually own an asset and have more freedom over how you can do your work.

Flutter Developer Hiring Costs in 2025: A Complete Breakdown
In today’s fast-evolving tech landscape, Flutter stands out as a game-changer. With a single codebase, businesses can develop apps for iOS app development, Android app development, and even desktop platforms—saving both time and money. In 2025, one key question businesses are asking is: How much does it cost to hire a Flutter developer?
This guide explores the cost to hire a Flutter developer, factors influencing pricing, and tips to optimize your hiring process.
Factors Influencing Flutter Developer Pricing
1. App Complexity
The complexity of your app significantly impacts development costs:
Simple Apps – Basic UI & authentication: $10,000–$25,000
Medium Complexity Apps – API integrations, real-time features: $25,000–$50,000
Complex Apps – AI/ML, AR/VR, enterprise features: $50,000–$200,000+
2. Developer Expertise
The experience level of a professional Flutter app development expert determines hourly rates:
Junior Developers (0-3 years) – $15–$25/hour
Mid-Level Developers (3-5 years) – $25–$50/hour
Senior Developers (5+ years) – $50–$150/hour
3. Engagement Models
How you hire also affects pricing:
Freelancers – Short-term projects, $20–$100/hour
Dedicated Teams – Long-term projects, $25,000–$200,000+
In-House Teams – High initial investment, $80,000–$160,000/year
How to Optimize Your Hiring Costs
1. Start with an MVP
Building a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) lets you test your idea with minimal investment before scaling up.
2. Leverage Pre-Built Widgets
Flutter’s extensive widget library can save development time and reduce costs for your professional Flutter app development project.
3. Outsource to Cost-Effective Regions
Hiring from regions like India or Eastern Europe can significantly lower costs. In India, you can hire skilled Flutter developers for as low as $20/hour.
4. Choose the Right Engagement Model
For startups, outsourcing or hiring freelancers is more cost-effective than an in-house team. However, dedicated team augmentation is ideal for long-term projects.
Comparing Flutter with Other Frameworks
ReactJS Developer Cost – $30–$150/hour, making it slightly more expensive.
PHP Developer Rates – $20–$100/hour, but lacks cross-platform capabilities.
Laravel Developer Rates – Similar to PHP, more suited for web development.
The Future of Flutter Development
As businesses demand faster, more efficient cross-platform solutions, Flutter’s popularity will continue to soar. Whether you’re hiring locally or outsourcing, understanding the cost to hire a Flutter developer will help you make smart, cost-effective hiring decisions.
