ESSENTIAL MOM MOVEMENT MOBILITY CIRCUIT: Exercise 2️⃣ . Hip mobility is huge when it comes to maintaining pelvic health. . 🙋🏻‍♀️Have you had a c-section? 🙋🏻‍♀️Have you then naturally delivered one or more babies? . 🤗Well, then you need to be working on your hip mobility! . ❤️A strong pelvic floor is only part of the picture. The other part is having the ability to relax too. . 🤗Here I am using a 10kg @viprpro on the moving “loading and unloading” side. Guess what is happening on the other side? . 🤗Remember the pelvis is one continuous ring and what you do on one side affects the body other side. . ❤️Now consider what happens to the pelvic floor inside the pelvic ring when you use a movement consistent with function. . 🌟You can change the speed, depth or angle of lunge, the position of the @viprpro . . 🙋🏻‍♀️Who is ready for exercise 3️⃣? ESSENTIAL MOM MOVEMENT STRENGTH 💪CIRCUIT: Exercise 7️⃣ . Recovering a diastasis requires you to recover whole body integration as it is a whole body issue, not just central to the core. . There are many common activities that demand core and shoulder stability during your everyday “mom life”. . From pushing a stroller to carrying a car seat. Then for the older kids...playing ball, swimming, carrying groceries. Imagine your world and insert the activity. . TRX is a great tool that takes up minimal space. There are a myriad of exercises that can be performed. . Here I am using a tricep extension with a variable step. . My core is under tension from the shoulder flexion while I then move my pelvis from the bottom up to further challenge the myofascial lines. . Remember, my goal at this point is to further increase tensile strength while maintaining mobility. . I hope you enjoyed this strength circuit. The goal is to encourage authentic movement for moms. ESSENTIAL MOM MOVEMENTS CIRCUIT: Exercise 8️⃣ . This is the final exercise in the circuit. This one uses the @powerplateusa and a 4kg ViPR @vipr_global . The overall goal of all 8 exercises is to improve my hip mobility while challenging my core and thoracic spine. . Here I am moving through a traditional posterior lunge while driving the ViPR through various shifting patterns. . The power plate aids in circulation and adds another driver in all three planes of motion from the bottom up. . 🧐Moms: you benefit from this pattern for the pelvic floor load, glute strength and core stability. All important things for life activities! . I am still working on tensile strength through my hips, core and thoracic spine. The 4kg ViPR is the perfect load for the goal of this pattern. . I am excited to continue to build my strength and resilience! Two sets of twins has taken a toll on my “situation” but everyday...I’m getting a little stronger and more resilient! . ESSENTIAL MOM MOVEMENT CIRCUIT: Exercise 5 . Do you stand a lot during the day working in the kitchen? Or, sit and nurse your baby? . Hanging is an excellent way to decompress the spine and counter all of our daily forward movement. . It’s also a great way to start to build tensile strength in the tissues of the abdominal wall through the anterior front line of the body. . Using a bottom up leg driver is a simple way to further stimulate a 3D contraction of the core. . Don’t forget about the role of the diaphragm here...deep diaphragmatic breathing is another driver for the core. . Start with your feet on a box taking small steps in various directions and work towards a full hang! . Essential mom movement cool down from a morning bike ride! . 🧐Why is this an essential mom movement? Because life does not stop after my ride. I must be able to “perform” as a mom all day. Too many movements to go through here...a blog post, maybe! . Here I am using @powerplateusa and @viprpro to put some motion back into my hips and lumbosacral fascia. . Although cycling is in and out of the saddle, it is all in the flexed position. So I want to move from flexion into other extension, rotation, ab/adduction. Basically, I need to rehydrate and decompress. . All of these movements can be done on the ground but the @powerplateusa adds a bottom up stimulus in all three planes of motion. . @viprpro is a tool, I feel every Mom should get as a part of their postpartum tool kit. Can you see how these patterns help with my diastasis and take care of my pelvic floor? Think hip mobility, rib position and lumbar mobility. . Here I am using tilting patterns to help my body use the the range of motion that I gain through the stretch. . Notice how I change hand positions which is a unique feature to ViPR. As a former competitive athlete turned life athlete...one of my challenges is staying in my lane when it comes to appropriate movement for my new shell. . Although I would LOVE to push further into more explosive patterns. It’s not best for me. So, I can still feel athletically challenged, produce lasting useful results and have fun with patterns like this!! .
