Hustle and Heart: Tales of a Middle-Class Dreamer
Ever wondered what it's like to live carefree, not sweating over every penny and drowning in responsibilities? Dreaming without the constant shadow of bills and obligations? Welcome to the reality of us everyday hustlers, especially the middle-class working women.
January hits, and the dream of a solo holiday sparkles in my eyes. I hover over those tempting ticket prices, only to be brought back to earth – Dad needs a new phone. Tightening that budget belt already.
February whispers promises of a hotel reservation for that solo escapade. But alas, reality intervenes – aunty needs new glasses. Budget, you sly thing, always tight.
March rolls in, and my birthday calls for a celebration. Solo trip planning resumes, but wait – family needs new clothes, friends deserve treats. Living in society, remember? Tight budget alert.
April sneaks up, and thoughts of reserving a cozy homestay flirt with my desires. Then reality kicks in – sister's aspiring lawyer dreams demand new law books. Another month, another tight budget.
May suggests, "Why not throw caution to the wind and book that trip?" Oh, but Dad's medicines, new glasses, health checkup – he's aging, and responsibilities stack up. Budget? Yep, still tight.
June dawns, and dreams of a getaway vanish. Sister's college semester fees are due. Tight budget, the perpetual companion.
July arrives, but leaves no room for leaves. Work projects loom, and health checkups demand savings. Tight budget, a familiar refrain.
Lonely August slips away like sand. Tight budget echoes in its wake.
September storms in, piling up projects and workload. The budget? You guessed it – tight.
October brings Durga Puja, and the family craves new clothes. Tight budget, the unwavering constant.
November's Diwali dazzles with the need for new gold and a looming move as the rental agreement expires. Budget? As tight as ever.
December rears its head, signaling the time to pay up sister's college fees. Another year, another dance with the tight budget routine.
And the cycle repeats, a relentless carousel of dreams, desires, and the ever-tightening budget. Welcome to the rollercoaster of middle-class reality. 🎢💸

The Silent Departure: When Men Choose to Leave
Tumblr media
In the quiet corners of our lives, where love and loss intertwine, there exists a phenomenon that is both heartbreaking and perplexing. It’s the moment when a man chooses to leave his partner, not because of a lack of love, but because he feels his existence has no positive effect on his spouse. This decision, often shrouded in a cloud of sadness and tragedy, can leave a lasting impact on the lives of those left behind.
The Biblical Perspective
The Bible, a source of wisdom for many, offers insights into relationships that can shed light on this phenomenon. In Proverbs 13:20, it is written: "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm."1 This verse suggests that our companions significantly influence our lives. If a man perceives himself as causing harm rather than providing wisdom and support to his partner, he may choose to remove himself from the equation.
In 1 Peter 4:8, we find another relevant verse: "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."1 Love is meant to be a healing force, a balm for our shortcomings. But what happens when a man feels his sins or failures are too great to be covered by love? The tragic answer may be that he chooses to leave.
The Reality Check: Survey Insights
Surveys and studies provide a more contemporary perspective on this issue. According to one study, only 6% of marriages end when someone becomes unwell during the marriage2. However, it’s usually men who choose to leave2. This statistic is startling and sad. It suggests that when faced with significant challenges or changes, some men feel their presence is more harmful than helpful.
Anecdotes: Stories of Silent Goodbyes
There are countless stories of men leaving their partners at critical moments. One such story involves a woman battling stage four breast cancer2. Her husband initially supported her but eventually withdrew as her health declined2. These stories are heartbreaking reminders of the silent departures that occur when men feel they can’t positively contribute to their partners’ lives.
A Focused Message: Awareness and Understanding
The crux of this issue lies in understanding and awareness. It’s crucial for individuals in a relationship to recognize if they’re making their partner’s existence feel invalid or unhelpful due to their struggles. Open communication, empathy, and understanding are vital in ensuring that both parties feel valued and positive in their relationship.
In conclusion, the silent departure of men from their partners’ lives is a complex issue rooted in perceptions of self-worth and the ability to contribute positively to their partners’ lives. By fostering open communication and understanding within relationships, we can hope to address this heartbreaking phenomenon.

More Reviews: Survival: The Covid Years
Thank you so much to @Zooloo's Book tour for organising Survival: The Covid Years 'book tour' and to her bloggers for their reviews.
Why I wrote Survival: 'The Covid Years'
I wrote the book so that I could feel better and so that I would come to understand and come to terms with what was the most difficult period of my mental and emotional disability.
For anyone living with a mental and emotional disability is difficult, living with a mental and emotional disability at a time when there is a killer disease on the loose, impossible. Although I was never in a position to change how the pandemic was being handled, being proactive and doing something to make myself feel better, eventually helped me to come to terms with the virus a little better.
The ethos behind the book
"By shedding light on her personal challenges through the pandemic, Ilana encourages the reader to explore the thoughts and feelings raised by their own pandemic journey. In this way she aims to unlock future potential for others, enabling them to move on from this enormously difficult time. A must read for anyone wanting to take positive steps after the challenges of Covid-19.”

📚BOOK REVIEW 📚
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I received an advance review #giftedgopy and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Thank you, Partner @Ilana_Estelle_Author, @RedDoorBooks, and @zooloosbooktours.
💬MY THOUGHTS💬
It's fair to say that none of us saw COVID or a global panic coming nor did we understand how long and the extent to which this would impact our lives at all levels. I've dealt with anxiety most of my adult life and like many, the pandemic sent me into a level of anxiety I hadn't known. I think the hardest part was all of the unknowns combined with a massive amount of people dying from this invisible killer.
Other reasons for my increased anxiety include my 90+ year old grandma being in an assisted living facility, my parents living halfway across the country in a state that did not lock down as much as Oregon did, and finally we unexpectedly lost my brother to a heart attack. Sadly, I wasn't able to go home for his memorial service and since it was outside it wasn't live streamed. v I say all of this to say, I enjoyed this book and can't fathom how difficult it was for the author during this time. I appreciate the author's candid tale is honest, raw, and vulnerable. In this book she documents her feelings and explains her story in a clear and concise manner. I was hooked from start to finish and found myself identifying with her in more ways than one. I highly recommend this book to all!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you’ve read Ilana's first book then you’ll love this continuing journey by Ilana. Ilana really shows you what it was like for people during the pandemic as well as her own. Ilana not only has cerebral palsy but she also has autism. Reflecting back its eye opening to remember what it was like individually during the pandemic in terms of emotional, mental and physical needs. There’s something about reading another individual's story that makes you feel like what you encountered is almost normal and that we are not alone. It’s lovely reading how someone that suffered so immensely turned their life into positive motivations. It shows that roller coasters are meant to be ridden and hurdles are meant to be jumped over.
Ilana really hit home for me and I truly found this inspiring, motivational and heart warming. It shows you how even how the pandemic is over it can still leave challenging emotions that people continue to struggle with. You really feel yourself becoming invested into Ilana’s perspective and there is so much honesty written in the words. I’ll be honest and during the pandemic I was lucky to have my family surrounding me and it really puts into perspective how naive I was with how other people were struggling and facing individual challenges. This is a phenomenal read and truly beautifully written.

A blockbuster duo of books by critically acclaimed Children and Young Adult author, Lorna Schultz Nicholson
A blockbuster duo of books by critically acclaimed Children and Young Adult author, Lorna Schultz Nicholson
JUST IN TIME FOR BACK TO SCHOOL Joey Moss first became known to many Canadians because of his work with the NHL Edmonton Oilers hockey team. Joey loved connecting with people. Whether he was singing “Oh Canada” on a jumbotron screen at a hockey game, welcoming a new friend with a playful wrestling match, or dancing on a runway for a charity fashion show, Joey loved making people feel good. NEPALI BUS..
Tumblr media
Wanna know how it feels to ride on a typical Night bus. Well, buckle up then. You have come to write the right article 😸. Let's give it a small context. Say, you're bus is going to Kathmandu from Dhangadhi, 14 hours of journey approx. You go in the Bua stop and find your bus stop. Find your bus. Go and check your row first A or B then the seat number. Maybe ask a co-driver. You found out you in a B row 9 number. 10 is a window seat. "shit" you say by heart. You take a seat hopping to get a girl by your next. But come a young dude twitching his head and hand. "Shit," you say by heart. he then takes his place. He slides in between me and the front seat easily, i just have to lean back. He sits and puts his earphones on and makes his head back. After an hour or so time flies you call your parents and friends and check on Facebook. battery level 80%. Co-driver comes to check everyone's seat and place. He asks me if I have a ticket. I say "I'm with you (blinks and smiles with a mask on)". He then says to the guy next to me that his place is in the cabin and that was another guy's seat. As i looked, it was another not-so-neat-looking guy (i mean he had dirty clothes on). The young guy got up without asking any questions. Just as before he got out between me and the front seat, i just had to lean back. I get up to give space to the next man who was about to sit next to me. He just tries to squeeze in between! He got Stuck i said "Let me get out first". He went in his seat. Firmly, Takes his place. "Shit," I say by heart. For the next two hours, it went as fast as checking messages and Facebook. Then i put fone on a Battery saving mode and tried to overthink..........
