*DC Reasi @DMReasi finalises arrangements for Shiv Khori Mela* REASI, @bimpal_singh :- Deputy Commissioner,Reasi Indu Kanwal Chib today chaired a meeting with district officers to finalise arrangements for smooth conduct of Maha Shivratri Mela 2021. The three day fair will begin from 10th and culminate on 12th of March 2021. During the meeting, Indu Kanwal Chib discussed various issues like facilities of drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation, repair of roads, security, medical facilities etc. She asked the concerned officers to make requisite arrangements for the smooth celebration of Maha Shivratri. Regarding medical facilities, the Deputy Commissioner was assured by the CMO that sufficient number of medical staff along with equipment like oxygen cylinders, stretchers l, ambulances etc, are in place to face any medical emergency. Similarly, SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir briefed the DC about security and traffic management plan. The Deputy Commissioner was apprised by concerned officials from PDD, PHE and PWD about sufficient deployment of men and materials throughout the duration of the mela. *Department of Agriculture organised a one day Kissan Mela Cum Exhibition under Centrally Sponsored Scheme SMAE ( ATMA) scheme at Reasi* . Reasi :-The Kissan Mela cum Exhibition function was inaugurated by Indu Kanwal Chib District Deputy Commissioner, Reasi. Stalls from Agriculture depicting scientific cultivating practices in the field of Mushroom, Apiculture and soil testing as well as that of Allied Departments such as Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry ,Sericulture Handicrafts, Floriculture, various Self Help Groups and Krishi Vigyan Kendra Reasi where laid at the venue to showcase their activities. The private seed companies also participated in the Mela. The latest machineries including Tractors, Tillers, water lifting devices, drip and sprinkler irrigation system apart from products used in organic farming were also displayed at the Mela site. During the event Indu Kanwal Chib , Ravinder Thaploo CAO Reasi and other dignitaries went round the stalls and appreciated the activities of Agriculture and allied departments and directed officers of the all departments to work cohesively for the upliftment of the farming community. The Farmers also showed keen interest in the stalls and different exhibits laid at the Mela site. While inspection, Indu Kanwal chibb appreciated Shivani Kumari of Self Help Group who made a Baby Sweater with a beautiful design and colours. While welcoming the guests Rajesh Verma District Agriculture Officer briefed the gathering about the purpose as well as importance of holding such exhibition cum Kissan Mela. Chief Agriculture Officer, Reasi Ravinder Thaploo, welcomed the guests and gave a resume of the activities of the Agriculture department.
