i’ve seen people reblogging and posting that they’ll write with female OCs/support female OCs but if you know that a certain OC blog don’t receive love, please make an effort to compliment their work, reblog their promo, send asks, like their HCs/edits, yes?

remember, it only takes a few seconds to show appreciation to OCs you admire, especially females/OCs of color because we don’t get enough recognition on this site ❤️

BoulGram Thoughts:

Saw an angst prompt that’s “you are allowed to fall apart a little”, and immediately thought it could be Boulder and Graham, and make it better, could be for either of them.

To sum it up:

Maybe one day Graham was under too much pressure and started to crack. Boulder sensed it and asked what’s wrong, and clearly not convinced when Graham tired to force a smile and say things are okay. It ended up with him allowing Graham to crawl into his driver’s compartment and eventually bawl out to his heart’s content (after some gentle persuasion), all while listening quietly on the monitor.

Boulder suddenly misses home a bit more than usual and had a few memories which stirred up many emotions. Graham felt something was off when they were trying to do homework, only for Boulder to brush it off. Eventually he can’t hold it back anymore and instead kind of sat down defeated with a heavy heave. Graham closed his textbook and sat down next to Boulder. After a while, he told him he’s here for him and whatnots.

Hey you, yeah you cmere. You’re doing good, hell you’re doing great. I know it doesn’t seem like it or feel like it and you may be thinking I’m full of shit, but I’m not. You’re wonderful and your muse? Amazing. I know you’re thinking now you’re definitely bull shitting me, but I’m not. No one else can write your muse the way YOURE writing them. It’s impossible, only your interpretation will ever exist because someone else’s could NEVER be yours. Don’t give me that look, yknow the one like ‘how is that a good thing?’ Well I’ll tell you smart ass, it means that there is no wrong way to write the way you do. You make your own rules, your own worlds and your own vibes — why do you think your brain is your biggest enemy? You can’t have the good without the bad so someone’s gotta do it unfortunately, being our own enemy makes us deal some low blows. But just like we tell our friends when their brains are being mean, we have to sometimes look into our own mind and tell our doubts to fuck off. I mean scream it, loud as you can and the silence that follows? It fucked off. Wanna know why? Because your doubt is a liar, that’s all it’ll ever tell you. It’s never told you a truth and it won’t so why listen to it, so pick your pretty chin up. Get you a good snack — better yet get a fucking amazing snack you love and tell yourself one kind thing. Because you are one in a gazillion and that’s the factual truth, there will only ever be one of you — who talks, thinks, listens and feels like you do. It seems scary right? But it’s not, because there are a million other little universes jammed into flesh and bone with their hands held out to you. You’re not alone, you’re not your doubts, you are wonderful and it shines through what you do — like your muses and writing. Be kind, be patient, and know you’re loved.

They're really helpful for anxiety! They're really helpful for plotting! They give the mun something to work with so that when they approach you, they have something to work with! It's really nice! A lot of people have them, but I've noticed that for some reason, no one does them!

This is not me yelling in your face, this is me enthusiastically telling you about the wonders of interest checkers! I have an interest checker! Some of my friends have interest checkers! It's awesome! You should consider having one, but more importantly, you should consider filling out any quick interest checkers your mutuals might have!

As the years progress on Tumblr, I often hope that things will turn around in the RPC with its outlook on female muses. Unfortunately, I find myself disappointed - even now. Does no one realize that solely refusing to write with or interact with a muse based on their gender is discrimination? 

The definition of discrimination: a - prejudiced or prejudicial outlook, action, or treatment. b - the act, practice, or an instance of discriminating categorically rather than individually. ( according to Merriam-Webster )

This is where you judge a group of people or things solely based on an individual experience. People preach against discrimination on so many issues on here, whether that be sexuality, race, etc. But when it comes to something fictional as RPing, there are a number of people that throw this out of the window, and they literally see no wrong in it. Yes - there are people who write female muses who are tacky, and who will be rude, and who won’t follow rules. But this doesn’t fall on the female muse. This falls on the kind of person and individual that mun is.

Incidents like that isn’t located to just one group of people. Some muns of male muses are the same way. The only difference is that when it comes to male muses, the event is usually just individualized and male muses, as a whole, do not garner the blame for it. Because it’s not EVERY male muse fault. Why can’t people recognize that with female muses? It’s because of subconscious and internalized misogyny. 

The predominant base of RPers on this website are female. Yet there are many who will refuse to write or interact with someone, because their muse is FEMALE. Can yall repeat that prior sentence? Now, repeat it again. Don’t you see how foolish that sounds?

Oh, but don’t let me talk about how femininity is vilified in females. But when gay males express their femininity -- which is stolen from women, and more specifically, BLACK women - in the RPC, its seen as cutesy and “uwu”. The feminine traits of women are accepted when it comes from a gay male. But people rather remain blind to that. 

TL;DR: Female muses deserve better. They are treated like bottom-of-the-barrel trash while their male counterparts are praised for doing the same things. Discrimination and misogyny is alive and well in the RPC, and as a community, we should do better because know better.
