Dust Thoughts

i have some strong feelings about Dust and his perception of the world after what happened in his AU

Like how he lost the sense of consequences after so many resets.

Like how violence is a means to an end.

Like how he almost gets a sort of narcissistic trait to him. (The world revolves around him and Chara. But now that Chara is gone, its just him.)

Maybe he's quiet and clamps his hands over his mouth to stifle a maddening laugh. (A part of him still tries to hold it back but he can't help himself.)

Maybe he presses his eyes closed too hard, clench his teeth all day long, clench his fist shut tight in his pockets, keep his body tense.

Maybe he knocks trashcans over and spill drinks and leaves blankets on the floor and hates it when you smile.

Maybe he clicks his teeth when he's angry, or swallow a whimper when he's sad, or widen his eyes at something he doesnt understand, or taps his feet when he's impatient.

Maybe he bites at his fingers without thinking. Or kick his slippers off across the room when he flops into bed. Or keeps silverware in his mouth even after taking a bite.

Or steals little things when he knows he can get away with it. Like monster candies, paperclips, knives, slips of paper, pillows...

Mmmm... Killer being desperate to kill things in order to stay unstable is soooooo good to me

like,,, he's literally locking away a part of himself, the part that feels any sort of guilt for all that he is doing. The part that is still mourning their past and wishes hopelessly that things would go back to the way they were before Chara.

And his current self feels that it is weak and stupid to stay stuck in the past and only lives in the moment

but neither of them can imagine a future.

because they dont have a future.

they only have 'now' and the 'past'.
