Sometime last year I saw a video of a park program that let people rent all terrain wheelchairs so they could go on hikes and trails that regular wheelchairs can’t tackle. I said to my fiancée, “Wow, this is so cool! People with accessibility issues will get to go on trails.”

They looked at me and after a moment they quietly said, “Like you.”

It surprised me. Yes; I’ve had a chronic infection that has limited my mobility for several years but- oh. It is me. I have mobility issues.

After that the topic of wheelchairs has come up a few times. It’s hard. I can walk. I just can’t walk very much before I’m exhausted. But getting a wheelchair felt like giving in and admitting my disability is long term. But it’s been about three years of not doing activities because I just wouldn’t have the energy to walk around or do things.

I just recently got a new diagnosis. On top of my viral infection, I have an autoimmune disorder which- surprise! Is generating fatigue.

It’s been a hard couple days. But even knowing that I could get back to a functional level I have to admit that right now I’m disabled. So today I picked up my wheelchair.

I still do 99% of my sketches traditionally then just take a pic of the pencil sketch with my phone, then add layers to the phone pic for lines, colors, etc after uploading it to my tablet lol. I've never been good at digital sketching.

My tablet is just a boring ol' Samsung one, probably almost 10 years old now, nothing fancy or art-making-specific. I use a Bamboo brand stylus pen that has a replaceable mesh-covered drawing tip.

To complete my Basic Art Bitch™️ ensemble, I use the free version of Medibang.

(I will say if you want to use Procreate or other programs, I don't think they're Android compatible, so you'd maybe have to shell out for 🍎 products there...)

The concept of halving, integrated by the anonymous Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto, occurs once every four years to uphold the hard cap of 21 million tokens. The upcoming halving event, the fourth since 2012, will reduce the reward from 6.25 Bitcoin to 3.125 Bitcoin. Despite Bitcoin’s remarkable 50% surge this year to approximately $63,500, the impending halving has heightened the urgency to bring more efficient machines online.

As the halving approaches, the continued use of older equipment poses a risk of electricity costs surpassing mining revenue. While models like the S19 series may no longer be profitable to operate in the US post-halving, they can still yield substantial profits and enjoy an extended operational lifespan when hosted in regions such as Africa.

Some buyers are delaying their purchase of older computers until after the halving event, anticipating further price drops. For example, the cost of used S19 models was approximately $7,030 in March 2022. However, a year later, amidst declining Bitcoin prices, the price plummeted to about $900, further decreasing to approximately $427 this month. The price is projected to drop to around $356 in May, following the halving event.

In response to these price fluctuations, some miners in the US have opted not to sell their hardware but instead, plan to relocate the equipment to regions with lower electricity costs and third-party data centers.

However, not all mining equipment from the US is relocated abroad. Publicly traded companies face challenges in this regard due to the need to consider risk-averse shareholders and concerns regarding transportation costs, equipment breakage, and security.
