Took some photos today for #Reimaginemay “how I dressed in high school”. I attempted to re-create a typical outfit that I would have worn around 2007/2008. Utility jacket, graphic band t-shirt. Leggings and elf boots not pictured. I had to improvise a bit with this baret. I had this knit baret in high school that I wore until the elastic band dry rotted.

To add some authenticity I decided to incorporate some of my favorite records from the period. YYYs, Modest Mouse and TMV were in constant rotation.

In Norse mythology, Skínfaxi (“sheen mane”) and Hrímfaxi (“frosty mane”) are the horses of Dagr (day) and Nótt (night). Skínfaxi pulls Dagr’s chariot across the sky every day and his mane lights up the sky and earth below. The journey of the sun across the sky was an important element in the Bronze Age religion. Nordic Bronze Age art largely features depictions of this theme. ⨁ This new piece is part of my Petroglyph collection and inspired by the Sun-Horse of Balken.
