#RudyTuesday RCA TJ-48 remote truck with TK-30A camera and relay transmitter on the roof. RCA contracted with General Motors to build mobile units with Chevrolet trucks with their specifications.

RCA coded the truck as RCA TJ-48 because it was created in 1948. There was also another very similar model in 1950 that was coded as TJ-50.

In the background, Two Sikorsky S-51 helicopters owned by Helicopter Air Transport (HAT), the first helicopter operator in the U.S., possibly at the Camden Airport in New  Jersey

specifically looking at the hewitts since granted i know more on the remakes than the others but,

the hewitts only got vague, limited police action looking into them in '03 after erin chops thomas' arm off and gets away. and even though theres' coverage of it and everything, that literally ONLY happens after 4-5 straight years of the hewitts doing what they do, from 69-73 in terms of solely the remake timeline.

that's still a shitton of time to be ACTIVELY killing people to y'know. not fucking die yourselves. then combine that with the sawyers - their additional family members, their own trails of ruthlessness added into the mix, and this entire combined family unit likely has kill counts all around in the hundreds if not even way past that.

but even with the police involvement in the remakes?

its all SO SLOPPY, its hardly conducted with any real CARE about their own well-beings. like??? ya'll went into that house while THOMAS was STILL THERE... didnt even SECURE THE HOUSE.....

and even with the found footage? no arrests, presumably. the remaining hewitts are still at large, thomas is still at large. like... all ya'll did was corral them to their fucking confusing ass tunnel system and made luda (if we count the comics) far more involved and ruthless in the actual killings than she was in the movies lol

and yes technically speaking with charlie's death that could sever the stronghold they've got on the police and sheriffs' around them - but at the same time - how bad would it look of them to SUDDENLY flip a switch and try to unpack the years worth of missing persons, cold cases, murders, kidnappings, break-ins, assaults, etc etc that they swept under the rug? that's WAY too much man power, esp for back then. no one is gonna do that shit.

so. i truly dont think they have much to worry about even in the event of charlie dying - because the fear and influence they've instilled stands for law enforcement to continue to do fuck all - to save and cover their own asses.

#ThrowbackThursday The world’s first television remote control. The wireless “Flash-Matic” was invented by Zenith engineer Eugene Polley in 1955.

"This Zenith was the first set sold with wireless remote control...This system uses Photoelectric cells in the four corners of the screen to control On/Off, mute and channel selection. Since it used regular visible light to control the functions (the remote was basically a flashlight), it was subject to all sorts of interference from room lighting or even sunlight if it was positioned facing a window.These problems spelled doom for this system and it was only used for one year. i never genuinely hate characters [each character has their place in the story and each character makes the narrative as a whole interesting . its hard to hate a character when youre thinking about them from a narrative standpoint] but i will admit i was cheering a little bit when chota started attacking shibuki like that in ep 3

a drone swarm operator is cute when she's broadcasting typical taunts like "i am the spider hidden at the center of a web of metal and light, dare you walk into my parlor?"

and even cuter once you've shattered all of one's toys, peeled the lid off her bunker, plucked her from her command couch, and are holding her by her collar as she tries to remember how to hit you with her own two fists instead of the thirty or forty appendages she's used to.

if you decide to take her home, do remember that she'll need new swarm elements in short order. she needs to give orders as well as take them. you will not be remotely enough to satisfy her need for control in both directions.

they don't need to be the same specs or count as you found her with, and in fact, she will often be able to adapt to operating biologics or cyborgs with similar need for direction as her original drones, which can be very helpful if you're already a collector of such things. but if you're not prepared to provide replacements of some kind, however initially crude, it's kinder to finish her where you found her, and move on. □
