This is just me musing for a bit but….

I kinda hate how when it comes to Awakening men (the first gen units that is) getting alts, it’s always constantly Chrom and M!Robin (much as I like the former and I played the latter in the ‘dad bod’ build in my playthrough). Frederick and Gaius only had one alt which is way back in the first Summer banner, Gaius and Lon’qu got Resplendents last year (you did say Resplenedents count as alts), Henry only had two alts (Halloween and last year’s Easter banner) and just recently Donnel got an alt which was kind of lucky of him really.

Man, it’s a shame that IS seems to ignore a lot of the Awakening men that are not named Chrom or Robin. Though, I’ll say the same for the women too (esp Maribelle becuz SHE NEEDS AN ALT/ RESPELENDENT!)

Yeah, I was going on my usual brigade of fanservice the other day, but I realized that for Awakening, the amount of male alts is ALMOST nearly balanced to female alts.

… It’s just that almost ALL of those male alts are Robin and Chrom, which like… I’m tired of Chrom. I’m almost a little tired of Robin but he’s been needing some non-Grima attention like F!Robin desperately needs.

If they made the male alts broken as all hell, I GUARANTEE the demand for them would be as high as the big tiddy alts. I understand now (but will still gripe about it a teeny bit nevertheless) that the big tiddies ratio sells more and the original equal gender ratio probably didn’t sell as much, but they could compensate for it by just… releasing a ridiculously broken man. Look at Wind Tribe Claude. I’ve seen more of him than I’ve seen of Kagero/Orochi and Catria or Dagr. As for the Awakening women, if it’s not Lucina, Cordelia, or Tharja, then they get totally shafted. I too would like for Maribelle to have an alt, the fact that Flavia managed to get one was a miracle enough. And Cherche barely got her first alt just last year.

Resplendent Ephraim? 🫣

The incorporation is… Not the most optimal. I don’t mean this in a goofy or a horny way, but he should be showing more skin than just a sliver of his arms. Additionally, whereas with Lon’Qu could have used some armor adornments, Ephraim actually needs less. No shoulder pauldrons, no shin guards, and make the chest piece even smaller. Jotunnheim outfits, as seen on Nott and Dagr, are all about showing off the body’s natural strength, so Ephraim shouldn’t be so covered up. It really is just the same structure of the outfit without really pushing the Jotunn look.

That being said, the art itself is still awesome; anatomy is great, color work is great. Posework is cool but Ephraim feels too rooted. Expressions COULD be pushed a little more but it’s Ephraim so I understand.

I personally feel mixed on the choice of Jotunnheimr being picked for Ephraim. I’m glad we have male characters for what was seen primarily with girls, and I know that Ephraim enjoys the thrill of fighting. But again, Jotunnheimr focuses on showing the body and I don’t think a lance lord dressed head to toe is a good fit. I’d honestly maybe go with Askr or Muspell clothing for Ephraim.

All in all, and my personal opinion only, Resplendent Ephraim is a 7/10. I apologize for being so harsh D:

on a similar note i’m so fucking torn because feh is dropping resplendent lon’qu in like four days and. i don’t want to spend more money on that fucking hellhole of an app but this is lon’qu’s first “alt”.....................and of course it’s locked behind a paywall...........
