DRIFTWOOD RESTAURANT, Lauderdale: Mixed mushroom risotto finished with mascarpone, pine nuts and baby herbs $28 Wow. Absolutely packed with flavour. This dish was brilliant and the perfect example of a top notch risotto. Congratulations to the chef. Venue, as always, is sublime and we had a new young girl as our wait staff. She was delightful from start to finish and chatted amiably to us and shared a laugh. She was very attentive and we really found her attitude most enjoyable. AMICI: Photo 1 - Veal Funghi tender veal escallops pan fried with white wine, garlic, mushroom and cream sauce $36.90. The young guy serving was an absolute delight. He was really helpful and knowledgeable about the food. The seafood chowder was one of the best I’ve had. It was thick and creamy and packed with so much seafood. Beautifully presented and loved the big thick slices of toast. It was a flavour bomb. My dining companion said the scallop pie was exceptionally good with plenty of scallops in the pie. Lovely mild curry and delicious crunchy chips. BRUNSWICK HOTEL: I finally made it to the Brunswick with a group of friends and wasn’t disappointed. It was fabulous! We went for a selection of smaller dishes that included Peppered Tasmanian Scallops with orange and carrot purée, kale, coriander, citrus glaze and pickled ginger $19, sweet potato wedges with roasted garlic aioli $9.50, roasted vegetables with kipfler potatoes, Dutch carrots, onion, zucchini, garlic, lemon, feta and rosemary $12.50 plus many more. Food was absolutely beautiful and the service equaled the quality of the food. It’s one bill per table but I was told that when I booked so that was fine. Im looking forward to returning and trying more dishes. Yummmmm. ZERO 81: Scaloppine ai funghi - veal served with mushrooms sauce with mashed potatoes and asparagus $29 This is a great new restaurant at Kingston Beach with very friendly and engaging service. The veal was very popular with our table with four out of six of us having this main meal. No one was disappointed and everyone loved it.
