NEW SYDNEY HOTEL: Photo One - Panfried chicken breast - smoked eggplant purée, zucchini, tomato, peppers $29 Photo Two - Fish n chips - shambles beer batter, chips and slaw $26 Photo Three - unfortunately missed getting a description of this beetroot dish but my dining companion loved it. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We had a great table where we could listen to the sweet sounds of Billy Whitton. Food was delicious and a good generous serve. The flavours in the chicken dish were sublime and each element complemented the other elements. Great service. Food came out quickly and piping hot. PAESANO. Photo One: Rigatoni Pollo Alla Panna - chicken pieces with sautéed bacon, mushrooms, white wine and cream $26. Photo Two: Tiramisu Paesano - their own traditional Italian coffee and mascarpone cheese dessert with a trace of liqueur $14. Photos three and four: Gelato and Ice Cream - several flavours to choose from. Thoroughly enjoyed Paesanos. Excellent service despite the wait staff being super busy. Our waitress was really friendly and attentive. The food was plentiful and very generous sized portions. We certainly didn’t go hungry. The flavour in the pasta was delightful and delicious. URBAN GREEK: Photo One - Cretan style chicken $36. Photo Two - Paithakia kotopoulo $35.50. Photo Three - Galaktoboureka $12. Photo Four - Chocolate lava soufflé - freshly baked chocolate hazelnut soufflé served with fresh fruit and locally made ice cream $15. The food was outstanding. Every dish was truly amazing food. The mains were huge and packed with flavour. Every element complemented each other in a perfectly balanced way. The desserts were stunning and incredibly delicious. The perfect way to finish an amazing meal. The atmosphere was very busy, vibrant and buzzing and plenty of people enjoying their meals. The service was a bit hit and miss when we first arrived. The tables either side were seated quite some time after us and yet both were served drinks before us and also had meal orders taken before us. On the third go of asking if we could get drinks, it finally happened but then took a huge amount of time. When I enquired where our drinks were, the girl told us they were very busy. Hmmm unfortunately we appeared to strike the one girl who wasn’t really fussed about serving us. She didn’t come near again so the service improved exponentially after that with all other wait staff friendly, attentive and wanting to know how we were enjoying our meal. RUDE BOY: Fried Chicken and Chips. This was my first visit to this restaurant and WOW, this place could become a favourite of mine. It was cute and quirky with decor. Staff were excellent and very welcoming. The Fried Chicken was ridiculously good and the chips crunchy and delicious. What a great place. This is definitely worth a second, third and fourth visit. We had a very large group for this dinner and they fitted us in with no booking which was very generous of them. The staff were outstanding with their service. Super friendly and helpful as we had a few dietary requirements. They were attentive the whole time we were there and I feel it was one of the best restaurants for service that I have visited. They split the bill for us and were very patient with working it all out. Well done to this brilliant restaurant. The food was also outstanding. TASMANIA GOLF CLUB: Photo One - Bakery Share Grazing Plate. Photo Two - Picatta of Chicken Milanese. Photo Three - Traditional Sunday Roast. Photo Four - Dessert Tasting Plate. This was a set menu with some choices and it was absolutely delicious and delightful. All serves were very generous and we went home without needing any more food. The chicken was amazing and so very tasty. The roast included pork with crackling and seasoned leg of lamb. Yummmmmm. This was a prize I won and wow, it was sublime. Started with pumpkin and sweet potato soup which was absolutely salubrious then au natural oyster. Mains were duck breast which was tender and accompanied by a beautiful sauce and very nice crumb element that added that crunch. Yummmmm. Fish was delicately cooked and absolutely delightful to eat. Beautiful crunchy skin with the fish. Followed by an Apple and almond tart. Yummmmmm This was all accompanied by a very yummy bottle of House of Arras sparkling and a bottle of Milton Pinot Gris. Both delightful drinks I have never tried but I would have again. Our wait staff were so efficient and attentive, particularly Lacey who was just the sweetest girl.
