Through all the vicissitudes of her history the Greek [Orthodox] Church has been enabled to preserve something of the very spirit of the first age of Christianity. Her liturgy still enshrines that element of sheer joy in the Resurrection of the Lord that we find in so many of the early Christian writings.

Like many of you, I love chocolate, but what I love most is the fact that on this holiday, we can finally remember even more what Jesus did for me and for you!
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.
Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
John 11:25,26

Do We Have Any Evidence of the Resurrection? A Critique of Skepticism and Proof
People confuse proof, as in a mathematical proof, and proof, as in an offer of evidence that tends to support a proposition.
Some people say that we have absolutely no evidence for the resurrection (and no evidence that God exists in the first place). Nothing could be further from the truth. We have evidence. The issue isn’t a lack of evidence; the issue is how we approach the evidence and weigh it it. A person who approaches “supernatural” phenomenon with purely materialistic assumptions will weigh the evidence…

1. “Praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is so good, and by raising Jesus from death, he has given us new life and a hope that lives on.” —1 Peter 1:3 (CEV)
“Celebrate with praises the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has shown us his extravagant mercy. For his fountain of mercy has given us a new life—we are reborn to experience a living, energetic hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” —1 Peter 1:3 (TPT)
3. “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” —1 Peter 1:3‭-‬9 (NIV)

Hymn Story: Scars in Heaven
“Scars in Heaven” is a song by Casting Crowns about hope in the midst of loss. Mark Hall wrote the story as his grandparents slowly passed away. To learn more about the story behind this song watch Mark Hall discuss what inspired him. During this journey, he was inspired by an event following the resurrection in the book of Luke.

Did The Resurrection Happen? -- Dean Meadows
If someone asked, “Why do you believe Jesus rose from the grave?” What would your answer be? In my thirteen years of ministry, the standard answers to this question are, “It says so in the Bible,” and “I’ve always been taught it was true.” In an ever-growing secular society that doubts religious claims and believes religion cannot provide foundational truths, it is essential that Christians can…
