I love vintage mountain bikes from the '90s when designs got crazy and everybody had enough money to fund whatever popped into their heads. None of them are as good as a cheap bike made recently, but they're from before the corporate holding companies owned everything and are great because of the freedom that allowed. Profit means nothing in the face of doing weird shit for the giggles.
Tumblr media
In 1991, Dan invented this 6061 aluminum “Extreme Terrain” bike, featuring up to 10″ wide tires. At the time, many enthusiasts pushed the boundaries by riding in conditions that would be impractical on conventional mountain bikes. The E.T. was originally designed to be ridden in snow, sand, or any surface one could find on two wheels. A company named Skat-Trak provided the ATV-modified tires, shaving upward of eight pounds of rubber off the tires to reduce weight.
Tumblr media
I had a Manitou FS for about a year before I sold the frame to a friend. Why not put front forks on the back? The suspension has no damping so you just bounce and wobble everywhere (it's also made of rubber pucks that don't compress at all when they're cold). I don't regret getting rid of it because it's not a pleasant ride, but it it's such a cool, goofy thing. The CNC machining is beautiful. I still have a Manitou HT from 1994 with Manitou EFC (oil damped instead of undamped) fork. The frame's made of such thin-wall aluminum I rarely ride it because it's one of the few left in the world without a cracked front-triangle.
Tumblr media
The Trek Y-33 has the bottom bracket as a part of the rear triangle which was supposed to make it less bouncy than traditional full-suspension. It was not. Probably the coolest looking bike. I love the way those Spin wheels look but '90s carbon is a little dicey.

Raleigh Crested Butte: Assessment.
Ok, enough leaving you all hanging. Now to talk about the new to me bike! When I received the Raleigh Crested Butte on Sunday November 14 (a month ago!) it was in very good shape. A “garage queen”, as they say. Not only was it in good all-around shape, it had good “stuff” on it. This is because the Crested Butte was Raleigh’s “top of the line” mountain bike in the mid-80’s. The derailleurs,…

Suzuki Lapin Pickup Truck Concept, 2002. The 5-door Lapin kei car was introduced in 2002 (pictured) at the 36th Tokyo Motor show. Along with the series production Lapin a mini truck concept was presented, created by converting the rear of the Lapin into a cargo bed, inspired by retro American pickup-trucks. The cargo bed, 1.3 metres long x 1.25 metres wide is large enough to carry the 50cc Suzuki "Street Magic" motorcycle, or a mountain bike. Alas the pickup truck remained at one-off for the show

It is good at the country house
Tumblr media
So, it is going July. It is excellent summer! It is very hot. It is so ideal summer with hot days. Sun is shining bright. Everything around is green. And everything is hundred times more interesting. Grass is green. Trees are green. And lots of flowers. Beautiful and different. It is all about country house. Country house – it is excellent place to be there at your weekend. For a summer time.
Tumblr media
So, this time summer is hot. And so good. And, sometimes, it happens a raining. Also, it includes, sometimes, a long such summer strong rains. With big puddles. So, in weekend - I see everything! And hot day. And summer strong rain with puddles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I remember, that last summer it was more cold. But, it also was a very good and remarkable. And this summer it is hot. Ideal weather. Sky is always blue blue. And, low of clouds in the sky. So, this is a weather! So, this is a little days to go!
Tumblr media
For the first time, I plant some plants. Do a flowerbeds. Some little of flowers. It is about a three flowers. First probe. They are growing good! Well, I start with a seeds from supermarket. And with them - I have no results. No one seed is rise for me. But, it was a first attempt. And, later, it was appeared for me a plants. Some several flowers. They are marigolds, daisy и chamomile.  Mother and father gave me them as a present. They are like little bush. They have grown. They are growing good! It is nice to watch them! White, dark red and orange. What a flowers!
Tumblr media
Also, there are another flowers and plants at the country house. And they are growing there for a long time. They are green plants. And flowers. Golden ball, for example. And some perennial plants – and I don’t know their names. But they are very common. And it is even to happen, that they grow by themselves.
Tumblr media
So, a part about a flowers – it is a standalone part of summer. Grass. Flowers. Standalone theme. It is a bicycle. Father, brother and I – at last we gather all the parts – and bicycle is ready to go. So, start to do it - we at the end of last summer. And it was going very wrong, not works. And this summer we get all the parts as they should to be. It is mountain bike Movix. Bicicle is made in China. That’s why we gather it for some time. But mainly, it is rather good, very good. To ride. Maybe, not fast, and just to move. And for first experience – it is rather good to go!
Tumblr media
By the way, speaking about the experience. About a bicycle, maybe, it is a new theme to write about, as a new post. So, for about a ten years of break…and, maybe, even more. I sit at the bicycle, again. And I get tired fast. To my surprise. And, I, already, make a several rides. And first experience was next - I tired a lot, and do it very fast. Legs were with some pain. Knees were in pain.  And everything was in pain because of I get tired too fast. And I breath hard too. Without a habit.
Tumblr media
By now, I am, of course, I get tired, anyway. But it is, already, better. About feelings. But, one evening, I get back from a ride with bicycle, and brother told me. That I breath very hard. Just like I run from a monster. From other hand - more I ride – then it is goes better. I adjust myself to this physical exercise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And there are a grasshoppers at the country house. They have appeared. I don’t know when certain they appear. But, in July, I hear them in a grass. They are singing their songs. And in the field - there are even more of them. It is a whole sound wave there. From them. At the country house they have appeared too. I am glad to see my friends musicians!
Tumblr media
Good summer weather. Nice little sun is going though a window. Such a beautiful sunlight in the room. Bright, and it is so good, when it is a day. I play computer games in the room. With old computer. I have for country house and retro – whole computer. It is Asus F3S. Windows Xp computer. I can play a shooter, racing, to try different games. To listen music, to watch a movie. Some to do else. It is comfortable theme!
Tumblr media
So, again, i wait for the start of weekend! To go to a countryside. Summer it is excellent time! And most best time for country house. Summer, sun, grass, grasshoppers. So, lots of summer things to do! Country house – it is excellent invention. Very useful thing. As minimum for to go for a weekend!
Note. Text were written in July about July. Some summer moments, about a country house.

Okay so this au is just a rough idea i had where the teens personalities would switch (normal havings scary personality, she having links etc.). The story beats would be similar, althought slightly changed, their families would stay the same and their backstories would differ slithly. Here are some headcanons (Are they headcanons if im the one making the au? Oh well that's what im gonna call the right now) and some schetches i have of their au designs:
Link>Scary:
Scary is her nick name actually, she got it in soccer because she is kibda scary when playing because she is so good, dislikes that she feels like she has to use it to distinguish herself from Terry Jr tho.
Still dislikes her step-dad, but more because she feels like her and her mom were fine without him and he just ruined their relashonship.
Actually good at soccer (also in a kinda wierdo way like link)
Will call you out on your bullshit
Will also threaten you and mean it
Is one to question authority
A pretty good leader actually (but can be a bit ofa perfectionist and take things too seriously)
Still has a notlikeothergirls vibe but more in imoneoftheboys way
Kinda dislikes everyone else on the team at first
Dislikes the wellwellwell soccer kids, she just thinks they are fake and annoying
Doesn't really have friends, so she is pretty lonely
A bit of a soccer nerd
Does write poetry in her spare time, but only shows her mom
Is much more openly loving to her mom
Is really honest, because of that she comes across as mean
Normal>Taylor:
The san dimas demon
Thinks or at least pretends to think everyone loves him
Friends with nearly all the soccer kids (Scary finds him annoying but he is working on changing her opinion)
Kinda inseccure actually
Enjoys the attention of being the mascot
Was really into gymnastics as a kid
Tries to make his own cheers and dances, is not really great at them
Has mobility issues that kinda fuck with him being able to perform which like really sucks
Liked cosplay before (still does) so being the mascot and making the suit felt natural
Actually takes off the costume (uNliKe SoMe PeoPlE!)
Does wear a lot of school merch when not in costume tho
His mom is the best, and he is still very spoiled, he does wonder where his dad is tho...
Taylor>Link:
Lookes like an offbrand Supernatural charakter most of the time
Learnt survival because of Grant (it has become a spacial intrest so he knows a lot)
Knows sign language, morse code and is learning others
Still kinda sheltered (but he was allowed to do actual camping, maybe was even a scout or something)
As a little kid he went on hikes with his grantpa like all the time
Owns a mountain bike but never really uses it
Wears a giant backpack with like everything inside (think milo from milo murphys law) with some self defense weapons inside
Grant taught him a special code to use if he is in danger but cant let others around him know
New to school (i think the li-wilsons just recently moved back in this au) so this is his first time in public school
A weapons nerd (definitly went to a shooting range a lot)
More of a games nerd than a weeb (unlike Taylor), he got it from his dads
Thinks its cool how his name is like Links from zelda games
Likes sports anime and shounen (watched all of my hero academia even tho it is like retro)
Still a total daddy's boy
Honestly happy to get to do some normal teen stuff
Has a lot of online friends, but he still felt kinda lonely
Before they moved he played with norm and taylor as a kid
Thinks pokemon are cool as hell
Scary>Normal
Goes by Wierd/wierdly
Realized his dad isn't proud of him earlier and feels really resentful about it
Lisens to mcr
Used to draw a lot, he wanted to make cartoons and comics when he was younger
Tried to go into soccer but was not good at it
Used to have this self incert oc "Teenie" that he was really proud of and drew a lot, he wanted to make a whole comic with himbut after he found out his dad isn't proud of him he started to hate it, he thought of it as really childish so he destroyed every drawing he could find (his mom saved a couple somewhere)
Uses a lot of self depricating humor, and just dark humor in general
Honestly kinda pissed at his parents (both of them)
Tries to seem annoyed at the other teens but genialny likes them
Realized people thought he was cringy much earlier, it did still hurt a lot
Tries to control his emotions a lot but then just ends up crying due to them being bottled up and he hates it
Goth clothes kinda fuck with his texture issues but he still wears them
Never designed teenie for the school mascot competition so the san dimas demon won
Gets along better with hero than in canon
Wishes he could just move into his grandmas Mercedes place
Wear earphones to school (both to listen to edgy music and for noice canceletion)
Honestly mask more than in canon (the autism is strong)
Idk when im gonna have time to actually make something for this au but i really wanted to throw my ideas out there because if i don't then they are probablly never gonna see the light of day.

My Nintendo SNES Exertainment Life Cycle Bike 9XS - A retro gaming machine you never even heard of!
My Nintendo SNES Exertainment Life Cycle Bike 9XS - A retro gaming machine you never even heard of! https://ift.tt/8cw7g2H Wow haha look what I found, rare Nintendo bike from 1993, still working, very coolHello gaming redditors! This post will be about the Nintendo Exertainment SNES Life Cycle Bike 9XS, one of the rarest and craziest products to ever get released by Nintendo. In 1993, Nintendo revealed their new way to connect fitness and sports with gaming: the Nintendo Exertainment Exercise Bikes. There were 2 different models on the market: The Life Cycle Bike 3500 and the Life Cycle Bike 9XS. The 3500 was released for training at home: you would connect your bike with your own SNES console via an extra receiver and you would be able to play one of 2 games to ever get produced for that purpose - but being priced at $800, the interest was very very low. And then there was its big brother: the 9XS. Priced at $2,000, the 9XS would have its own built in console and monitor, so you would just need some energy to start playing! This was perfect for e.g. fitness studios, because they wouldn't need to set up a console and TV for you to start playing, and just have everything built in in a single machine! There are 2 games made for the bikes: "Speed Racer" and "Mountain Bike Rally". The first one is a car game, where you boost your car by kicking the pedals as fast as possible, and steering with the buttons on your handles. The second one is an actual bike racing game, working similar to the first one. There were special edition disks with both these games on a single disk, with some of them selling for many thousands of euros today. There were no more games produced because of the low demand of these bikes on the market. Now to my (m21, from Munich, Germany) personal story (don't expect too much, it's lame af): my parents bought a house in 2001, and bought another one in 2009, renovated it and moved into that in 2016. The other house has been empty since then, waiting for me to finish university and live in that house. It wasn't rented to anyone else because the rules for renting are pretty strict in germany, so just letting it wait was the best idea for them. Some weeks ago, they started to clean out the basement, and found this insane gaming rarity. They thought it's just a classic exercise bike and asked me if they can throw it away or if I needed it. To be honest, I didn't know anything about it aswell - but after starting to find some information online, the decision to not throw it away was pretty obvious :DNow, we carried the bike over to my parents newer house, cleaned it and did some testings - and everything works perfectly!! There are close to no usage marks aswell, and the original disk with both games is still inside! With the 9XS being built for commercial usage only, and Nintendo stopping the production shortly after release because nobody would spent 2k$ to play just 2 games, not many of there were ever sold, and even less are still existing today.I didn't find too much information about it, and even less people who own this. I talked to someone who owns both bikes and collects Nintendo stuff, and he told be that he didn't know about another working 9XS bike to exist besides his and told me that this has to be worth like $8,000-$15,000 at least, depending on usage marks and on how complete it is.Here is an imgur link with even more pictures:https://ift.tt/glObJNt check my profile for some more posts about the bike!If you have any questions, any personal experience or just want to push this post to get more attention, just type in the comments, I will answer everything!
