Taking a short break from the Vietwardian lookbook to revamp some old work. I can’t believe the first iteration of this piece was from 2020. I keep surprising myself with how much I’ve improved every time I look back at my old work.

Lets get the old art out the way first;

Faerie Biology; Sections 1 & 2

Section 1; Sex & Gender

Many creatures have 2 sex cell types, sperm and egg. Faeries are isogamous instead, meaning they have one sex cell type

This sex cell is similar to the egg cell in other creatures.

Faeries have no male sex. Instead, Fae have a "female" sex, alongside a "hermaphrodite" sex.

"Hermaphrodites" are very similar to the females, but have a muscular sheath that can extend from the genitalia to make mating easier.

Section 2; Eggs & Nature

Faeries, as beings of fable and myth, are naturally magical. This magic comes as a byproduct of their developing eggs and young.

To maintain their magical nature, Faeries constantly make eggs. Fae only pause egg making when pregnant.

Unfertilized eggs will accumulate in the womb over time. Faeries can lay these eggs at will. When without any eggs, a Faerie's body immediately makes one to ensure their magical nature is maintained.

next to do on the mim revamp:

rewrite the first page of the research article that is revealed when you click "story"

long term stretch goal: write the entire article!!!

redo the post-it note that appears before this as well. to match the new color scheme and also to write mim's handwriting myself instead of using a font. plus, to tweak the wording

add more found/compiled documents/evidence for the story tab

ideal goal: make it more interact-able (e.g. able to click links or find secrets or etc (i.e. make it feel like you're actively going down an internet rabbit hole, so to speak)
