Saturday Night Showcase> Robo Force: The Revenge Of Nazgar
BW Media Spotlight's Saturday Night Showcase> Robo Force: The Revenge Of Nazgar
Earlier this week I did a Free Comic Inside article about one of the pack-in minicomics for Ideal’s Robo Force toyline. Robots with “crusher arms” (using something like a flexible hose I think) and suction cup bottoms, the mostly cylinder-shaped robots didn’t stand a chance with the transforming robots Transformers and GoBots, the robot construction set Robotix, and other such toys. Still, you…

This is certainly exciting news! Never thought Revenge of Cronos would get a second chance in the US. Hopefully Battle Hackers will eventually be licensed as well.

TFN Haul Roundup: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN “Road Rival Showdown” Deadlift
There was a weird smell in the air around the year 2010, as characters and concepts from erstwhile competitor Robo Machines/GoBots had began to worm their way into Transformers.  The idea of the GoBots now living a half-life, dependant on Transformers to survive, was not exactly discouraged by the fiction which, in 2007, featured one Bug Bite who was out for revenge on a universe that had overwritten his own.
My creative brain, tied as it is to action figure collecting, was racing.  If Bug Bite was the spearhead of a secret invasion, and what other (modern) toys could represent GoBots?  The most obvious was Fracture, there was (almost) Backtrack, a Cop-Tur nameslap... you could stick Storm Cloud at the back of a group shot and pretend he’s Bad Boy... and then there was Deadlift, now in my possession thanks to the hard work of the folks at Toy-Fu!
If this fellow by the (somewhat unfortunate) name of Spoons had made it over the threshold into Transformersdom, he had to have been a big deal, right?  So I coveted this unusual forklift boy, only available in a two-pack that I don’t think ever made it over here.  Years later, by which I mean this year, I found out that Spoons was such a minor GoBots character that he was in only one episode and he didn’t have any lines.  Not quite a big shot, but still a cracking little toy.  I love his little haunted face.

Thanks to Avon Fox on Facebook,I will share the images he got. This is a different version of Tri-Trak and whatever Battle Gyror was called in the US under the... Twister, one of the Secret Riders. There we go.
These artstyles make these guys pretty unique to what they’re depicted in Gobots and Revenge of Cronos Machine Robo.
I might wanna clean up the Battle Gyror one someday.

Gobots reboot
I mean I know it a rip-off but it should at least had potential on its own
If I rebooted the show, I would add changes to the show
Here this:
1. Instead of Gobots come from a planet made of transforming robots, show will set in a far cyberpunk-esque future and Gobots are human-made robots create to serve and help humans
2. For Gobots being used to be an organic species concept, there will be a plot twist when it is revealed that the Gobots used to be humans whose minds are transferred to machines because of a rare unknown disease that could killed them
3. I add personality changes to scooter. For example, Scooter will be less of coward and more of a curious thrill seeker and adrenaline junkie. He will have a human best friend who is a orphan preteen girl. He will revealed to be the long lost older brother to preteen girl. possibly what happen if Tfa Bumblebee and idw Rodimus had a lovechild and a motorcycle alt mode instead of racecar alt mode
4. As for Leader-1, he will have a backstory. For his backstory, he woke up and found himself in a lab. He will suffer amnesia and had no idea who he was and he later escape from the lab. He later meet Cy-kill and the renegades and he join them and become friends with them. But his time as a renegade doesn’t last long when he found out they are hurting humans and destroying nature thanks to an old human pilot who he meets. Hurt by the true nature of the renegades, That when he confront Cy-kill and they had a huge fight. The fight end with Cy-kill losing his arms and leader-1 losing his paint job. Leader-1 left the group. He later meet Turbo and Scooter and decided to form a team called “Guardians” and they vow to save humanity and nature from evil. He pretty much tfp Optimus but with tfa Prowl’s love of nature and drift’s defection from evil faction. Before he left the renegades and become the leader of the guardians and gain a new paint job , he used to be called One and his original paint job is black and grey. Optimus prime meet baymax
5. Turbo will have a more grumpy and sarcastic personality and serve as a tough and serious but wise foil to Scooter’s hyperactive but tech-savvy and witty personality. He can be annoyed by Scooter’s antics but does care for sweet little cinnamon roll.
6. They will have better voice actors and better designs.
7. Cy-kill will be a more tragic villain with a motivation. He used to be a bullied employee of the corporate and one of the first humans to transferred their minds to machines. He is the only one to have not have memories as a human erased. Unlike the others, he did not have the disease but was forced against his will by the corrupted corporate as a unwilling guinea pig experiment. Shortly after his mind transferred, his human body was gone thanks to the corporate and he was unable to get his human body back and forced to spend his life in his cold robot body. Years passed and he slowly grew to hate his lifestyle where he is unable to eat, sleep or feel like human and his hatred for the corporate and his workers grew even stronger. His strong hatred slowly corrupted him and he grew to despised humanity. He then create his own team called “renegades” and he vowed to to have humanity extinct and he will takeover the world with robots. He also take revenge on the corporate and have darker plans for him..

Saturday Night Showcase: Machine Robo--Revenge Of Chronos
Saturday Night Showcase: Machine Robo--Revenge Of Chronos (the parent of the GoBots)
Tumblr media
If you’re new around here you may not know that despite Transformers being my #1 favorite multiverse (IDW aside), I am also a huge fan of the GoBots (please get the spelling right because Gobots and Go-Bots reference different things thank you). If you weren’t aware I’ve done video reviews of the pack-in illustrated booklet Escape To Planet Earth and the original pilot miniseries of Challenge Of…

Present: an old, US-centric cartoon meme sort of thing that I (apparently) started filling back when LJ was still a thing and then got distracted in the middle of, most likely.
- x what you saw - o what you haven't finished/saw sizable portions - ? if you just can’t remember if you’ve seen it or not - bold what you loved - strike through what you disliked/hated - leave unchanged if neutral
(I only did what I remember from my initial impressions when I first saw each film. There are movies bolded here that I doubt I could suffer through now, but loved as a kid, and also perfectly good cartoons that I hated.)

Chapter 6: The chapter people keep quoting
Immediately after Wade leaves his World History class and sits his virtual ass down in the Latin lecture hall, he launches into an agonizing screed to reemphasize that he's a totally serious 80s fan who knows his shit for real.
Entire paragraphs are formed using just the lists of directors, movies, and TV shows he took in to absorb everything Supreme Leader Halliday deemed important. Several of these paragraphs end with a little quote to wink at the audience and demonstrate his knowledge to us; after Wade tells us he's watching all the Star Trek shows, he states "Phasers locked on target." Any Trekkie remembers and loves that famous phrase. And everyone knows no self-respecting nerd alive can even think about GI Joe without blurting out "Because knowing is half the battle".
Except it was "AND knowing is half the battle", you dork.
Somehow, the reader is spared from wading through pages upon pages of video game scrawls but Wade does want to make sure that you remember that he's a god gamer. It was only a few pages ago when he beat a world-renowned competitive player consistently but he also has to emphasize that all games are child's play to him, no cheat codes or walkthroughs necessary.
After this exhausting section, the rest of the chapter is all about this set of verses that Halliday had recited in the video that had kicked off this asinine gunting crusade. In it, the three keys necessary for unlocking the trials that lead to the lost fortune are described. Wade's natural curiosity and deductive prowess had of course allowed him to discover a clue hidden within Anorak's Alamanac, the Bible for Halliday devotees, and find a message describing the location of the first of these keys.
We're clearly supposed to be impressed by this but then immediately we're told a bunch of other people figured it out too, including the first asshole who went public with it and got famous as a result.
Wade still maintains his air of superiority though, as he's convinced it has something to do with Halliday's lifelong love for Dungeons & Dragons. This story being what it is, I can only assume he'll be correct and the secret will be revealed soon. For this book's sake, I hope so.
Going by the page count, this thing is like 20% done and the plot hasn't actually started yet.
