Unwanted Attention.

Small Foot unexpectedly became a wanted target by the Renegades!

What do they want from her?

"Small Foot! Where are you?" Leader-1 called out, his voice a metallic echo in the deserted factory. Dust motes danced in the shafts of moonlight that pierced through broken windows, illuminating the debris-strewn floor.

"Over here, Leader-1! I'm pinned!" Small Foot's voice was strained.

Leader-1, Turbo, and Scooter transformed and sped towards the sound of her voice. They found Small Foot trapped beneath a fallen metal girder, sparks flying from her damaged leg. Suddenly, a cackle ripped through the air.

"Well, well, look what we have here," Cy-Kill sneered, rolling into the factory, Crasher, Cop-Tur, and Fitor flanking him. "A little birdie trapped in a cage."

"Cy-Kill!" Leader-1 growled, transforming back to robot mode, his fists clenched. "Let her go!" "Why should I?" Cy-Kill retorted, his red optics glowing menacingly. "This is too easy. Finish them!" he commanded his Renegades. Crasher, eager for a fight, screeched forward, her wheels spitting gravel.

"Time to crash this party!" she yelled, launching a volley of energy blasts toward Turbo and Scooter.

Turbo, nimble as ever, dodged the blasts, transforming into his sports car mode and weaving around Crasher's attacks. In his scooter mode, Scooter zipped around the factory floor, using his small size to his advantage, distracting Cop-Tur, who was trying to flank Leader-1, as he stood his ground, facing Cy-Kill.

"This ends now, Cy-Kill!" he declared.

"It ends with your destruction!" Cy-Kill countered, transforming into his motorcycle mode and charging towards Leader-1.

The factory floor became a battleground. Turbo and Crasher engaged in a high-speed chase, their energy blasts ricocheting off the walls. Despite his size, Scooter managed to keep Cop-Tur at bay, his quick movements and surprising bursts of speed frustrating the Renegade's attempts to attack. Fitor transformed into his jet mode, swooping down and firing at Small Foot, trying to keep her pinned down.

Leader-1 and Cy-Kill clashed in a whirlwind of metal and sparks. Their battle was a brutal exchange of blows, each determined to overpower the other. Leader 1, remembering Small Foot's plight, fought with renewed determination. He knew he had to protect his fellow Guardians.

Meanwhile, Small Foot, despite her injured leg, was trying to free herself. She strained against the girder, pushing with all her might. Finally, with a groan of metal, the girder shifted, and she was free.

Seeing Fitor distracted, Small Foot aimed a precise energy blast at the Renegade jet, forcing him to veer away. She then limped towards the fight between Leader-1 and Cy-Kill.

Leader-1, seeing his chance, landed a powerful blow on Cy-Kill, sending him crashing into a pile of crates. Before Cy-Kill could recover, Small Foot, using her good leg for support, fired a blast at Cy-Kill's weapon, disabling it.

Seeing their leader disarmed and outnumbered, Crasher and Cop-Tur retreated, Fitor following close behind.

"This isn't over, Leader-1!" Cy-Kill yelled as he sped away, Crasher and Cop-Tur flanking him.

Leader-1 watched them go, then turned to Small Foot.

"Are you alright?" he asked, concern etched on his face, "I don't like what happened to your leg."

Small Foot winced slightly as she put weight on her injured leg. "It's… it's not too bad," she said, trying to sound braver than she felt. "Just a few damaged circuits, I think."

Leader-1 knelt beside her, his expression grave. "That girder did a number on you. We need to get you back to Guardian headquarters for repairs immediately." He gently examined the damage, his metallic fingers carefully probing the scorched metal. "This could have been much worse. Fitor was targeting you specifically while you were trapped."

Turbo and Scooter returned to robot mode and approached, their faces etched with worry. "Small Foot, are you sure you're okay?" Turbo asked, his voice laced with concern.

"Yeah, that was a close one," Scooter added, his optics blinking rapidly. "I was trying to keep Cop-Tur off your back, but Fitor was relentless."

Small Foot managed a weak smile. "Thanks, you two. I appreciate it. If it wasn't for you guys keeping them busy, I might still be under that girder."

Leader-1 stood, his gaze sweeping over the ravaged factory. "This was a trap. Cy-Kill knew we'd come looking for you. He used you as bait." He clenched his fist, a low growl rumbling from his vocalizer. "He will pay for this."

He turned back to Small Foot, his voice softening. "Can you walk? Or do you need assistance?"

"I can manage," Small Foot insisted, though she swayed slightly as she took a step.

"I'll help you. Turbo, Scooter, scan the area for any remaining Renegade presence. We need to make sure this place is clear before we leave." Leader 1 placed a supporting arm around her. Turbo and Scooter nodded and quickly began scanning the factory with their sensors. After a few moments, Turbo reported, "All clear, Leader-1. They've retreated."

"Good. Let's head back."

Later:

Later, within the brightly lit confines of Guardian headquarters, Small Foot lay on a repair berth, Rest-Q meticulously working on her damaged leg. Sparks flew as the Rest-Q used his specialized tools to re-solder broken circuits and replace damaged components. Leader-1, Turbo, and Scooter stood nearby, watching with concern.

"The damage was extensive," Rest-Q announced, his voice a low hum as he worked. "That girder compressed several key circuits in her leg. Fortunately, the structural damage is minimal, but the energy blast from Fitor exacerbated the problem. It will take some time to fully recalibrate everything."

"Will she be alright?" Leader-1 asked his voice tight with worry.

"She will fully recover, Leader-1," Rest- Q reassured him. "Small Foot is a strong Gobot. Her internal systems are resilient. But she must rest and allow the repairs to fully integrate." Small Foot could hear their conversation, though her leg was numb from the repair process.

"I… I feel responsible," she murmured, her voice weak. "If I hadn't been captured…"

"Don't say that, Small Foot," Turbo interjected, his voice firm. "It wasn't your fault. Cy-Kill set a trap. Anyone could have fallen for it."

"Turbo's right," Scooter chimed in. "We're a team. We look out for each other. That's what matters."

Leader-1 placed a hand gently on Small Foot's shoulder. "We are all responsible for each other. That's the Guardian way. What matters now is that you recover. We need you back at full strength."

"There. That should do it. I've run a diagnostic, and everything appears to function within optimal parameters. She must remain on the berth for a few more cycles for full stabilization." Rest-Q finished his work, retracting his tools.

"Thank you," Leader-1 said gratefully.

Meanwhile, Sage, a recent friend of the Guardians, exchanged worried glances with Matt, Nick, and AJ. "She looked rough. Will she be okay?" Sage asks.

"Leader-1 said she'd recover. The Guardians have amazing technology. They can fix almost anything." Matt, ever the optimist, tried to reassure her.

"Yeah, but that blast from Fitor looked serious. And being pinned under that girder… that couldn't have been good." Nick, however, was more pragmatic; AJ, who had been quietly observing the repair bay through a window, turned to the others.

"Rest-Q is working on her. He's the best they have. If anyone can fix her, it's him." She said, crossing her arms onto her chest, "This isn't her first scuffle!"

Sage, however, remained troubled.

"I know, but… this felt different. It was a trap. They were after her specifically." She wrung her hands, her anxiety evident. "What if they do it again? What if they succeed next time?"

Matt placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Hey, don't think like that. The Guardians are always prepared. They won't let that happen again."

"And Small Foot's tough. She's not going down without a fight." Nick nodded in agreement.

AJ pushed herself off the wall, walking over to join the group. "Look, I know you're worried, Sage, we all are. But dwelling on the 'what ifs' doesn't help anyone. Let's focus on being there for her when she recovers. That's what friends do."

Just then, Leader-1 exited the repair bay, his expression a mixture of seriousness and relief. The humans immediately surrounded him, their faces etched with concern.

"Leader-1, how is she?" Sage asked her voice tight with worry.

"Rest-Q has completed the repairs," Leader-1 reported. "The damage was extensive, as Rest-Q said, but she will fully recover. She is resting now and will need time to recharge and fully integrate the repairs." A wave of relief washed over the group.

"That's great news," Matt exclaimed, a wide grin spreading across his face.

"We were really worried," Sage added, her shoulders relaxing.

Leader-1 nodded, his optics conveying his gratitude. "We appreciate your concern. Small Foot is a valuable member of our team and a dear friend to us all." He paused, his gaze turning serious as he looked at Sage.

"And Sage, I must reiterate that you are not to blame yourself. Cy-Kill is responsible for this attack. He will be held accountable."

Sage met his gaze, a flicker of understanding in her eyes. "I know," she said softly. "It's just… it's hard not to worry."

Leader-1 placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder, his touch surprisingly gentle for a robot his size.

"Worrying is natural, Sage. It shows you care. But trust in us. We will protect Small Foot and all of Earth to the best of our abilities. That is our purpose."

"I know this incident has been unsettling. The Renegades' tactics are becoming increasingly aggressive. We must all remain vigilant. If you see or hear anything suspicious, please inform us immediately." He then turned to the group as a whole.

The humans nodded in agreement, their expressions now determined. They understood the gravity of the situation. The fight against the Renegades was a constant struggle, but they were not alone. They had the Guardians, and together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead.
