My words were stay, morning, dream, and reflection

Stay (taken from Castle)

“Come on!” he yowled, and Storm couldn’t back down.

They hit Old Tom as he stood up and knocked him back a step, but the older cat was tough, and shoved back, bowling them over. He smacked Ilian’s shoulder and leaped straight up into the air to kick Storm in the face. It was a solid roundhouse, and Storm flipped over twice before landing on his side.

“Stay down!” he ordered the gray tom, who was too dazed to do anything but obey.

Ilian, fluffed to twice his size and tail lashing so hard it struck his sides, charged Old Tom head on. Old Tom tensed as if to brace for impact, but as soon as Ilian was close enough, he hopped to the side. Varin had been about to attack from behind and landed right where Old Tom’s back would’ve been, except the green tom wasn’t there. Varin hit the floor and Ilian hit him.

Old Tom sat on his haunches and knocked their heads together. When Ilian tried to attack him again, he launched himself forward, grabbed the pale cat, and rolled forward, bringing him down on the stone floor with a yowl.

“If I hear any of you have so much as toed the line,” he snarled at the three, who had had enough of the fight and began backing away, “I will teach you a lesson you might not walk away from.” If he’d had a full tail, his sides would be bruised from it beating him. As it was, he had to focus on not lashing his tail, as a wiggling rump would take away from his intimidating stance.

Ilian, Varin, and Storm turned and bolted as one.

Morning (taken from Castle)

“We’ve been attacked by enchanted wolvins,” Lukalt said, annoyed enough that he was almost snapping at him. “Every single one of these is twice the size of a regular wolvin. Most are even bigger. We don’t know when they’ll attack again, or where, and we have no defenses, no ways to keep them out. We’ve already lost a lot of people, and two of them are still buried under all of these bodies waiting for us to get them out, so would you stop joking and please take this seriously?”

They were both quiet for a moment, then Mickey said, “That bruise...you were awake when they attacked?”

“They woke me during the fight.”

Blue grimaced for him. “That’s a rough morning.”

“Little bit, yeah.”

Dream (taken from unnamed WIP)

Your compliance is out of character, Doctor Krauss’ voice said as if from a dream.

You’ll see my fight, don’t worry. Just give me a minute, Aaron’s voice responded.

You promised me a fight, Aaron…I’m very disappointed in you. But it’s nothing to fret about, no. I have plans for you now. We’ll be seeing each other again soon, Aaron. Very soon.

Aaron didn’t remember curling up this time. All he knew was General Reyex was suddenly holding him and he sobbed against the big man’s shoulder. He could hear the low rumble of Reyex’s voice as he spoke in soft soothing tones, but he couldn’t make out any of the words.

I’m going insane, Aaron thought, and was vaguely surprised when the mental voice didn’t sound like Krauss. “I wanna go home,” he said aloud, only half aware of it. “I wanna go home. Get me out of here. Please.” Please. Get me out of my head.

Reflection (taken from Castle 2)

“Because when a foolish human walks into a dragon’s mouth, the dragon generally eats them. That’s just how it goes.” There was more rustling as she shifted. Her eyes caught the light of their stones, reflecting it back like a cat. “Although now that I’ve been awoken, I haven’t been able to get back to sleep. And I’m quite hungry. Yes, positively famished.”

There was a hiss to her voice now, made all the more sinister by how soft it was. As one, they stepped back, away from her and towards their only escape.

“Make ye decision, wyrm.”

“How many are you?” she asked, and they heard her sniffing. “Three, is that it? That’s not enough. Tell me, are all those small cats still around? Perhaps there’s enough of them to take the edge off my hunger.”

“Ye have killed enough of those cats,” Nightwish said. “Ye will nae kill any more.”

“Is that so?” Her eyes glittered in the shadows. “Would you protect them? Would you fight for them…die for them?”

“Aye.”

“So noble. Maybe I’m feeling up to a little scuffle, then.” The dragon’s sudden hiss echoed, and the cave was filled with the sound of her movement.

Writing prompt: Reyes x Sirius - #25. Exchanging Letters

Sirius,

I thought for a long time about what to say in this message, whether to send it, whether it was better to call you in person, whether you would even talk to me. In the end, my doubts got the better of me. I always thought I was a brave man, capable of facing my fears, but I know now that I am a coward. Rather than face another rejection, I send this email.

I am sorry.

For hiding the truth, for the deception, and for hiding things from you. Yes, for lying. I never meant to do you harm, only to keep harm from you. My life on Kadara, the rumours about The Charlatan, about me ... I wanted to keep you apart from all that. Nothing more. Perhaps it was selfish of me to think I could keep you separate from all that. Greedy of me. But the thought of losing you made me desperate. You must believe me that. Everything I felt for you, everything between us; that was real. We were real.

I will not beg you to come back, you deserve better than pleading and begging. Instead I will just ask for you to believe me, and ask that you believe in us.

It took Reyes three days to mentally pen the letter he wanted to send Sirius. He weighed each phrase, considered each word, then tasted the email as a chef would a soup. He wanted, no, needed, Sirius to understand how much he regretted hurting her. How sorry he was. How desperately he wanted her to come home.

Home.

Did she even consider Kadara home? Had she ever? Would she again?

He hoped so.

He needed to believe so.

Reyes wrote the letter and sent it before he could get cold feet, then busied himself with work and pretended not to wait for her reply.

Iceland Trip (land of ice and fire) Part One

Icelandic’s philosophy:

“Respect nature;Take nothing from it and leave nothing behind.”

Extremely grateful for this experience and to have visited such an amaaaazing, beautiful, magical and unique country. So much beauty its hard to believe it exists and that I actually was there.

Pictures taking in the Southern Coast of Iceland, where most of the tourists attractions are located like (waterfalls, black sand beaches, Glaciers, Glacier lagoons and you can even see the northern lights. Definitely chasing waterfalls and appreciating the beauty of nature.

A very special trip for me because it was full of a lot of firsts: first time hiking a glacier, seeing the northern lights, Blue Lagoon experience, seeing a black sand beach for the first time ever and the list goes on…
