Mr. Mister Gets Its Only #1 Album (#OTD1986) - March 1, 2018 (O&F) – Led by studio musician Richard Page, the short-lived band Mr. Mister scored its first and only #1 album on this date (#OTD) in 1986. ‘Welcome To The Real World’ was the group’s second album, and it produced three Top 40 hits – including two #1s – on its way to going platinum. The first two singles from the album, “Broken Wings” and “Kyrie,” both spent two weeks at #1, and the third single, “Is It Love,” peaked in the Top 10 at #8. - Despite the tremendous success, Mr. Mister’s time in the spotlight would be limited to only one more hit, 1987’s “Something Real (Inside You/Inside Me),” which reached #29 on the singles chart. The song was the from the album ‘Go On…,’ which, despite going gold, wasn’t the success the group’s record company, RCA, was expecting. Personnel changes in the band followed, and although Mr. Mister recorded one more album in 1990, RCA decided not to release it, and the group officially disbanded soon after. Page was eventually able to release the album ‘Pull’ in 2010 on his Little Dume Recordings label, and like other albums from Mr. Mister, it is available through the usual sources, including iTunes. In addition to Page, the lineup for Mr. Mister included Steve George, Pat Mastelotto and Steve Farris.
