Kamen Rider BLACK RX, then. Where do I start?

Well... it doesn’t quite live up to the image of it I’d created in my head. And it definitely doesn’t live up to its predecessor. But... I think it’s a show doomed both by its reputation, and its status as a sequel to a show that really should not have had a sequel; and that if you can get past that - and certainly, not something everyone will be up to - I think it’s a show with a lot of its own merits.

Some of this is made easier by a lack of direct references to Black. There are the two Shadow Moon episodes, of course; and then the insanity-inducing scenario of using Whale Kaijin’s cave to give RX’s magic supercar a heart. But much of what fuels RX’s greatest heights is how it treats Kotaro as someone who has been a hero, a Kamen Rider before and is now finding a life beyond that - and thankfully, despite the actor, I found it easy enough to buy into that without the specificity of it being a Black sequel. Like, it’s a good Kamen Rider sequel show as long as you ignore it’s a sequel to Black? ... I’m probably not selling this very well, but trust me when I say that after a bit it’s something I found easy enough to slip into. The way Kotaro has found a family with the Saharas which isn’t the most solid family but it’s one that ultimately loves each other and him; the way he’s got a job now that he’s able to enjoy; the way he’s slowly meeting people and making friends. It’s all... it’s all very charming, and quite heartwarming.

The Crisis Empire, the invading alien force of reject Sentai villains and the hottest robot ever made; also ends up being a bit more interesting than it seems at first, even if it’s something subtle you sort of have to learn to look for. They have the usual power-grabs and personal interests at heart, with Bosgun especially going against orders for glory more often than not; but General Jark is... a very fascinating commander the further in you go. When faced with Colonel Dasmader in the latter half of the show picking apart his team’s efforts, he is fiercely defensive of not just his own position and reputation but also his subordinates; for seemingly no personal gain. Many many times he ends up flagrantly lying to and going against the supreme Emperor he’s supposed to be subservient to just to save the skin of his captains; at one point straight up killing Dasmader (he gets better) for Maribaron. It’s all of that combined with a more subtle dynamic of the captains getting along strangely well outside of their backstabbing that gives an endearing family angle to the group -- if only they were wise enough to realise just how important they are to each other.

There’s a lot of absolute nonsense, too, mind -- this is the first Kamen Rider series to REALLY have merchandising push its way into the show seemingly after Road Sector’s success last season; with all sorts of forms and weapons and vehicles thrown into RX’s arsenal. Thankfully I think most of it is handled quite well, with only the Rideron feeling truly superflouous -- the rest is in service of RX’s form changing which is used heavily since their debut till the last episode, serving not just to make fights more interesting but working their way into story beats as well. Robo Rider and Bio Rider are just straight up AWESOME designs at that; with aesthetics and colour schemes that Kamen Rider hadn’t delved into much before and a debut that speaks a fair bit to Kotaro’s character. Whoops, got a bit positive there; more negatives -- the Shadow Moon episodes are straight up bad, the last episode introduces a hamfisted environmental message which would be nice if it weren’t for completely contradicting the entire point of the Crisis Empire as an enemy and everything we’d learned about the Demon World and its people before; the Acrobatter being a revived Battle Hopper is something that seems nice at first but turns out to be very pointless, and also Gatezone didn’t get NEARLY enough screentime any time Gatezone isn’t on the screen you should be thinking “where is Gatezone” I want to be staring at his metal chest any chance I get

So! There are a fair few negatives to the show, but overall I think it’s got more than enough positives to balance it out. I don’t think it’s one of the greatest Showa Rider seasons or anything, but I had a great time here and I think if you’re willing to accept it on its own merit you’ll find something to like as well. It’s a pretty solid showing for Kamen Rider and certainly not the worst way the Showa Era could have ended.

Con la mia famiglia siamo soliti far del gran riderone commentando quello che in dialetto parmigiano è chiamato tridume (cosa pacchiana, grossolana, kitsch) delle foto e delle scritte dissuadenti sui pacchetti di sigarette.

Affermazioni sintetiche e minatorie, scritte in linguaggio semplice, corredate di foto che sembrano prese da un progetto fotografico per la tesina di uno studente di terza media: soggetti con espressioni e pose da telenovelas indiana in contesti improvvisati da uno sceneggiatore con problemi dissociativi da abuso di ketamina. Si salvano le foto di organi purulenti rubate a qualche studente di anatomopatologia e quella del tizio intubato che, viste le richieste di risarcimento danni, a quanto pare è il padre di 30 milioni di italiani.

In effetti smetti di fumare se tutte le volte che prendi un pacchetto di sigarette in mano ti pieghi in due dal ridere.

E poi, tutte le volte che smetto di ridere, mi ritorna il mente il concetto di METACOGNIZIONE cioè la capacità di prendere le distanze da noi stessi soggetti osservanti e giudicanti la realtà circostante, studiare i propri processi cognitivi e fermarci a rifletterne in merito.

Sono così superiore a questa gentucola superstiziosa oppure sono l’emblematico orbo nel paese dei ciechi?

Di fatto credo di avere sufficienti diottrie da notare certi meccanismi sociologici di indirizzamento comportamentale che, fatemelo dire, risultano efficaci in modo evidente e oltre ogni dubbio.

Ed è per questo che gli antivaccinisti hanno ragione.

...anche se la loro capacità di metacognizione pari a zero fa loro avere una ragione sbagliata per motivi sbagliati.

Nei primi mesi di pandemia ho cercato di mandare un messaggio che conciliasse la semplice didattica divulgativa con la necessità condivisa di rassicurazione.

A un certo punto ho smesso perché mi sono reso conto che, arrivato il vaccino, la gente che voleva solo incrollabili certezze non avrebbe potuto reggere il peso della semplice realtà scientifica dei fatti.

Anche il più intelligente e flessibile di voi avrebbe faticato ad accettare la cosiddetta ALEA, cioè l’imprevedibilità di una vaccinazione di massa in cui, però, il piatto del beneficio di una copertura globale era molto più pesante di quello del rischio corso dal singolo.

Come per ogni questione di ordine pubblico, il governo è riuscito prima ad avere l’adesione dei terrorizzati dalla morte, poi di quelli spaventati dalla reclusione sociale e infine hanno blandito e conquistato i vacanzieri del green pass.

Praticamente nessuno si sarebbe vaccinato se invece di questa campagna mediatica da pacchetto di sigarette con linguaggio da giornaletto della parrocchia fossero stati messi sul tavolino i dubbi passati, le difficoltà presenti e i rischi futuri.

Non mi importa conoscere i processi dissonanti o metacognitivi che hanno spinto voi a fare il vaccino e non vi farò perdere tempo spiegandovi i miei... l’importante è che sia stato e che verrà inoculato a più persone possibile e che nel più breve tempo possibile il virus da pandemico diventi endemico a basso tasso di replicazione mutagenica. Punto.

Per il resto la vostra paura ha le stesse radici di quelli che credendosi astutamente superiori svicolano egoisticamente da questo gesto di generosità collettiva... perché alla fine siamo importanti ma solo per il nostro gatto e per nostra madre. E su uno dei due non ci metterei la mano sul fuoco.

Tralasciando che il concetto alla base mi fa riderone ed è virtualmente indistinguibile dalla sua parodia... 'sta meme ha un beat non male, no?

Nonostante io sia una millennial non mi piace molto l’umorismo triste da millennial (”haha voglio morire hahaha la vita non ha senso hahahaha che riderone”) tuttavia di solito cerco di portare pazienza perché so che per chi è veramente triste è un modo di sdrammatizzare. Sappiamo dell’esistenza del Sars-Cov2, come si trasmette, i sintomi del Covid-19, il suo decorso, le complicazioni e i trattamenti, sia farmacologici che di supporto vitale. Miga bae!

2 - ABBIAMO IMPARATO L’IMPORTANZA DI APPIATTIRE LA CURVA

Cioè di prevenire quel numero eccessivo di pazienti con Covid-19 che saturerebbero prima gli ospedali e poi le terapie intensive, sottraendo posti letto e cure a tutti, col rischio che si finirebbe col fare triage di catastrofe (curi solo chi ha più possibilità di sopravvivere e lasci morire gli altri).

Questo LASCIANDONE A CASA UN BUON 80% (poco più di una banale influenzae™) e OSPEDALIZZANDO IL RESTO (di cui solo un 4,7% in terapia intensiva, con età superiore ai 70 anni e malattie cardio-vascolari, respiratorie e diabete gravi).

3 - STIAMO UTILIZZANDO MASCHERINE E FACENDO DISTANZIAMENTO SOCIALE

Che per quanto possa essere motivo di scherno riderone sulle vostre bacheche facebook, in cui fate a gara a postare foto di gente meno intelligente di voi con la mascherina storta o di gruppi di persone che sono felici in gruppo e voi invece no (ma qua il virus non c’entra nulla), è sempre un passo più avanti rispetto a Gennaio, momento in cui le maschere erano solo quelle di Carnevale e si limonorgiava alle apericene.

4 - ORA ABBIAMO LA PSEUDO-IMMUNITÀ DI GREGGE

Dico ‘pseudo’ perché la verà immunità di gregge si avrà solo con un vaccino che faccia sviluppare gli anticorpi (le IgG, immunoglobuline G) in modo totale e completo in una predeterminata percentuale di popolazione (50-83%), però intanto questi contatti non-sviluppanti Covid-19 stanno indebolendo l’infezione circolante (non il virus... il virus è tale e quale. Solo che adesso le infezioni sono deboli o non riescono a far sviluppare Covid-19).

Siamo di sicuro più preparati rispetto a Gennaio-Febbraio-Marzo, quando il virus si è abbattuto su di noi come una motosega in fiamme su un panetto di burro.

Per ciò che riguarda LO STUPIDO PARAGONE CON L’INFLUENZA SPAGNOLA DEL 1918 mi stupisce che per spiegare il fenomeno della recrudescenza virale invernale si sia usato 

Un virus della famiglia Orthomyxoviridae che è imparentato col Sars-Cov2 (Coronaviridae) tanto quanto un gatto con una medusa (urla di disappunto di @thec8h10n4o2 e @firewalker). Gli unici punti in comune sono le modalità di trasmissione e che entrambi sono diventati pandemici.

Un virus di cento anni fa che ha flagellato una popolazione indebolita dalla guerra e dalla fame, in un periodo in cui la virologia era all’età del bronzo, non esistevano antibiotici per le complicazioni sovrainfettive e il 95% della popolazione si puliva il culo ancora con le foglie.

Un virus che ha ucciso principalmente per il fenomeno della tempesta citochinica, quindi persone giovani e in buona salute, a differenza del Covid-19 in cui questo fenomeno è stato più blando e ha interessato una popolazione anziana e già compromessa.

Un virus che non si sa quanto sia stato direttamente responsabile delle centinaia di migliaia di morti, occorse in buona parte per la succitata immaturità della scienza medica e delle pessime condizioni ambientali.

Se proprio avete bisogno di un po’ di pepe al culo della vostra smodata voglia di essere persone prepperate in un mondo popolato di zombie, distogliete l’attenzione da questo virussetto del cazzo e ponetela su altri patogeni ben più minacciosi...

TIPO IL VIRUS DELLA FAMIGLIA ORTHOMYXOVIRIDAE G4 EA H1N1 CHE STA TENTANDO IL SALTO DI SPECIE DAI MAIALI ASIATICI ALL’UOMO oppure IL NUOVO LYSSAVIRUS DELLA RABBIA, PER CUI NON ESISTE VACCINO O CURA (X), TROVATO IN UN GATTO MORSO DA UN PIPISTRELLO AD AREZZO...

Non per essere ridondante e melodrammatico ma con questa frenetica antropizzazione forzata dell’ambiente per avere allevamenti e colture intensivi e vedere sulle nostre tavole carne, pesce, frutta e verdura a buon mercato, stiamo dando ragione a uno dei più grandi filosofi del ventunesimo secolo
