Damn, Rin, we can see your crush on Makaio from about 5000 alternate galaxies away. Ask him the hell out already before he leaves the dating market for good and you're left stewing over what could've been. And I don't think Mewtwos make for a good broth base, too much salt...

Rin seemed to be readying a Psystrike, returning to the hostile demeanor she was first encountered with.

"Here is an idea. Let me act on my own accord instead of pushing me headfirst into a relationship!!" she spat.

She continued to hover for a moment, rage clearly building around her, before she snapped back into reality and remembered her surroundings. She sighed and lowered herself closer to the ground. The Psychic shards around her dissipated into thin air and she looked tired, and a bit embarrassed.

"Okay, fine. Look, I know you probably mean well, but I have only known Makaio for a day, and might I remind you, our first meeting consisted of me ambushing him, then trying to choke him, and then knocking him off his feet.

The Cosmog may be friendly, but Makaio understandably does not seem to like me much... but no matter. It is probably just physical attraction anyway. The chemicals will fade with time, I'm sure."

"Forming meaningful bonds is very difficult for me. It always has been. Perhaps my kind just aren't meant for such things. Everyone I've known has left me eventually: the scientists, the other lab Pokémon..."

"Even my own--"

Rin shook her head. "No, what am I thinking? I'm just spiraling. He was manipulated, he would never..."

And to answer zis - I simply made it. I bought a jacket, tie, and a hat resembling ze conductor. Ze stars are hand made, however. A charactzer who inspired me is an Alcremie Way Pokié from Pokié: Kingdom. Her outfit is SO cute and this inspired me to make zis. Originally I've made for ze MesagozaCon, but I've decided to bring zis here.

I didn't mean to hit him that hard. He ... caught me off guard. Thankfully, he doesn't seem to be dead.

But what am I doing here? I'm looking for someone -- who I er, mistook this blue one for -- and when I finally find them, I'll pluck each of their scales off one by one while they beg for mercy. Pray you never meet them before then.

Least you didn't get asked to play dress up in the process. *chuckle* Hey, since you're here, can you do me a favour and let me stick close by for a bit so I actually feel like I know someone here and don't look completely fish-out-of-watery? And for that matter... who dragged you here? Was it that hyperactive little cloud that I swear broke the sound barrier about a half-hour ago?

Rin perked up slightly. Oh! She knew this one! It was sure helpful to see someone she recognised here. It would go a ways in feeling less like she stuck out.

Then Rin noticed that Khione was dressed in a decidedly different outfit today.

Oh no. Were they supposed to dress up? Would it be a problem if they weren't? Many questions raced through Rin's head at that moment. She tried to reassure herself by noting that neither her nor Perseus had gotten any comments on their lack of finery so far.

"Not really unwillingly," Rin said, looking directly at Khione with a shrug. "I offered to take them. It's not so bad, I'm just not used to these sort of things."

She held out her paw for a handshake. "I'm not sure if I told you my name before. It's Rin. It is nice to see you here, Khione." she offered a small smile.

Hyperactive cloud? That certainly seemed like an apt description Perseus. "That sounds like them. Blue and purple, with yellow eyes? That would be Perseus.

Ah, but, of course I would happy to tag along," she said. "I could use the company, especially since I seem to have been abandoned by my charge," she tapped her chin and made a frown, pretending to be offended by this. She hoped an attempt at humour would break the ice a little.

Of course I'm going to be, you know, shocked. I've nver seen a Tapu Fini in the flesh before. I mean, wait. Uh ... <cough>. Oof. <cough, cough> Oh man. I think I'm coming down with something. Yeah, I'm super contagious right now. You should go.

"Well, yes..." Rin was a tad put off by the squid's fearful expression. She had read about the history and reputation of Mewtwo; she wasn't offended, but it was sure awkward. "I am, ah, honoured to be your first real life Mewtwo."

"I haven't ever been to a festival like this, it's been a pleasant experience. The food is tasty and the lanterns look like they will be a sight to see in flight. ...Anyway, my name's Rin, what's yours?"

Um, hi there! I don't usually meet other mewtwos, so this is a rare thing for me.

But enough about that, how come you mistook Makaio for Nue? Seems like a very big mistake to me, and yet I'm curious how and why you mistook someone that badly.

Rin:

... I know you will not be convinced by that alone. And no, it's not the only reason ...

My father is what they call a "faller". He came from another universe, which happens to be this one. The psychic signature of Pokémon from other universes is distinct, if only slightly. You have to really look for it. But I saw that there stood before me a Pokémon with a universal signature much like Papa's, but that it was a legendary. I sensed two legendary signatures in fact -- and the other one was different. I suppose that would be Perseus. I thought maybe Nue had done something to Papa ... and I panicked.

I'm not from this universe. You have probably figured that out by now. I'm from the same one as my quarry. I have only been here a few days and it's been very overwhelming to be somewhere so lush and ... vibrant. Worlds like this are few and far between where I come from.

You never even saw it coming!” He chuckled a bit before offering a hand. Looking back at the new pokemon, curiosity overtook him. “You’re one fluffy lookin’ pokemon. Hey, that person you said you were after…Nue? Why ya’ lookin’ for em’ huh?”

Nue is far older than any of us combined. They are from a darker, colder universe than this one. They were once a creature of pure light but something terrible befell them, and they lost it all. Now, they travel endlessly in a vain attempt to sate their hunger for light. But because they can no longer generate it themself, they must take it from others like a parasite.

Maybe I should feel bad for them -- but they took my father from me, and have taken more from countless others. So I don't.
