Chapter 2 is up. Yay. More pain, this time from Paige’s POV :}

hi i just came across ur beckzler stuff and im DEAD it’s so good ??? i’m going to have to draw/write some myself. here’s some thoughts that i’ve always had for repurposed beck: 1. Beck probs would be helmetless to be a reminder to Argon of what happens to “traitors”. Tron wouldn’t be though, because he would be more of a martyr figure than a reminder 2. it’s a possibility that both Tron & Beck got repurposed. imagine Legacy w 2 Rinzlers. thank u for ur consideration ily

1: im not sure about that, but it is a cool idea. i always saw Rinzler’s helmet as a bit of a “prison” of sorts, keeping him trapped and separate from everyone else and probably unable to get it off himself. also as a way to remove him more from his past identity, completely stripping him of who he was. thats just my take on it tho!

2: yes, ive thought about that as well! ive talked about it a bit with a couple buddies, and it has its merits, but i prefer to go with one or the other for the most part. gives me more opportunities for my own preferred angst that way ;)

How do you envision the showdown between beckzler and Tron? Also Beck post brain wash how would he handle all the things he did, and trying to kill a user. How would Sam handle it, a kid his age that’s been through so much.

1: hooboy is it a mess. as Tron has said, Beck is a strong guy, physically and mentally, so he would definitely break out of it similar to how Cutler did. meaning terribly angsty and painful, and briefly. manages to tell Tron to either kill him now or GO, he cant keep this up long and he cant kill anyone else, please just DO IT. the last thing hes able to do before going back under is shove Tron away from him as more forces are coming, so he has no choice but to escape :^)

2: post-Rinzler Beck is a damn mess. hes a lot quieter, doesnt talk much at all for a long while, his entire demeanor is different. as it would be, yanno. centuries of being brainwashed fucks you up.

but he handles it all very badly. he apologizes in the very quiet way that he can, more in his actions than words, but hes very self-blaming about it. he knows it wasnt really him, but he cant help but hate himself for everything that he was made to do thats still burned into his mind. it takes him a long while to heal and be coaxed out of this weird, disassociated and depressed state. if i ever finish and publish my Off Grid Au fic (with just Tronzler, not Beckzler), you will see what im talking about ;)

3: Sam has… a very hard time with all of it. hes very wary around Beck, and it does take him a bit to warm up to him. hes still acting very strange, especially before they get all the Rinzler code out of him, so Sam still finds him very off putting for a while. once he does warm up to him though, they get along very well. they good buds, and Sam does what he can to make Beck feel better and more like himself again.

my interpretation of Sam towards Rinzler (being either Tron or Beck, depending), is that he does try p hard to understand him. for a while he has a hard time with it, because he still remembers all the terror Rinzler caused him and the others VERY well, so doing a switcheroo requires a lot of effort. he does have an easier time warming up to Beck than he would to Tron though, as Tron is even MORE shut in post-Rinzler lol. Beck is a bit more willing to branch out and trust others again.

Holy Shit I’m in love with your Beckzler! It’s so amazingly heart wrenching. Oh god imagine rinzler and beckzler, it makes sense there would be two, cover more ground and more panic

thank you so much ahhhh!!! i cant take full credit tho, i thought of it a few times before i think but it was @saratogaroad’s Rinzler 2.0 verse in her fic Changelog that inspired me to start drawing it!

and oh goodness ive had that thought as well, its horrible. the Uprising loses both its leaders and good friends, and theyre both stuck under Clu until Legacy Era :’D trying subtly to help each other in what little ways they can, with whatever parts of them were able to survive and break through when possible.

i headcanon that a lot of the Uprising makes it after Tron becomes Rinzler (maybe not Argon itself tho) with Beck taking full charge, but with double Rinzlers, i dont know… hhHHMMMMMMMMMMMMM
