The Redeemer of Her Name
Lady Riona Mac Tir, Daughter of the Traitor Teyrn, Regent of Gwaren and Senior Enchanter of Kinloch Hold [face claim Rachel Weisz]
“Now, we mages know better than most that magic is not a cure-all for the challenges we face, yes? Particularly when dealing with an assailant. I stress the importance of non-magical tactics. Knight-Commander Greagoir has authorized me to teach you how to defend yourselves. You will notice that in the movements we learn, the object is the same as with magic - manipulating energy. We focus on using the opponent’s energy against them. In this way, the moment they strike, they will have lost.”
-Riona to a class of mages having just passed their Harrowing on martial arts.

🤛🏼 for the touch/gestures ask
How does your character react to being hit? Are they likely to continue a fight if someone else starts it, or try to de-escalate or get away?
Riona Mac Tir, bastard daughter of Loghain, is no stranger to violence against her for the actions of her father. However, her training in martial arts makes her very capable of taking a hit, shrugging it off and assuming a defensive stance. Mostly she will intercept a blow before it lands and incapacitate her assailant by quickly breaking their fingers or wrist, but if caught by surprise, she will seek to recover her footing and strike back.

Some more OCs who haven’t gotten the creative love from me.
Ophelia Filius [Aishwarya Rai]
A former Tevinter altus of the city of Ventus, and current acting-Warden-Commander of Ferelden. A powerful necromancer who studied with the Mortalitasi, Ophelia works to recruit Fereldan Wardens in order to boost the numbers from the deficit caused during the Blight. She takes over while Reyn Caron searches for the cure to the Taint. Headstrong and clever, Ophelia has no desire to see Tevinter succeed, and denounces the practice of slavery, having realized its despicable nature after her own brother was sold into slavery against his will and experimented on by a magister. Ophelia is currently attempting to redefine the between-Blight Grey Wardens as a force for assisting the common good, protecting roads and helping the oppressed, and is willing to march on Weisshaupt with her fellow Wardens if the Order needs to be... cleansed of Corypheus’ influence.
Oly Aeducan [Jason Momoa]
A dwarf prince, disgraced by his brother’s murder and then exalted as a Paragon for his role in ending the Fifth Blight. He takes advantage of the dwarven resilience to lyrium to grant himself Templar powers, carefully rationing himself to ensure he does not become addicted. Husband of Skadi Brosca. He sets up permanent residence in Ferelden, near his friend King Alistair. A surprisingly skilled painter. He is a total pushover when it comes to his son with Skadi, Duncan Aeducan.
Skadi Brosca [Shantel VanSanten]
A former fixer for an Orzammar crime lord and the sister of a noble hunter (and the current wife of King Bhelen Aeducan), Skadi is intelligent, humble, and a vicious fighter. She’s generally a nice person, considering her occupation, but has a worryingly lax attitude towards crime. Do NOT play her at chess. Or Wicked Grace. Or Diamondback. Don’t play games with her. You will not win. She is the only dwarf in history to reject the title of Paragon in favor of remaining Casteless.
Konrad Cadash [Chris Evans]
An ex-Carta bruiser, he also was once a boxer in an underground fighting ring (sometimes literally; the Carta would send him to fighting Orzammar dwarves in prize fights. Was technically adopted by Oly Aeducan and Skadi Brosca. Has been taught some Legion of the Dead fighting style. He actually prefers the surface to Orzammar, and once killed a troll on his own. Becomes Leliana’s aide during Inquisition, and stays on as part of the spy network after Tash steps down.
Riona Mac Tir [Rachel Weisz]
Bastard mage daughter of Loghain and older half-sister to Anora. Senior Enchanter of Kinloch Hold and current Regent of Gwaren Teyrnir. Riona adapted the physical focusing movements taught to mages in Kinloch into a martial art not requiring magic, and later developed its use with folding fans. Traveling with the Hero of Ferelden after Broken Circle, Riona became friends with Alistair due to them both being bastards and sharing a dislike of her father. She is Ferelden’s answer to Madame de Fer, and acts as Tash’s escort to Halamshiral. She loves dogs, like many Fereldans, and owns a Mabari hound named Aofie.
Basile and Sylvie de Serault [Chris Hemsworth and Kathryn Newton]
The former Marquis of Serault and his sister, Basile and Sylvie are Orlesian nobles of the disgraced Serault, home to the Shame, a maleficar of note who passed some of his powers down to them, imbuing them with latent magical abilities, although not enough to consider them mages. Basile is a bookish and slightly shy man who would rather not be a ruler, but dutifully accepts and excels in the role as keeper of Ylenn Basin when Duke Tash is elsewhere. He loves his studies, and is no slouch in combat, although he only ever fights as a last resort. Once had a fling with the Prince of the Forest and is actually well-versed in glass-making. Sylvie is an adventurous and slightly boisterous young woman who enjoys hunting and exploring. She hates having to conform at court and enjoys her role as Lady Protector of Ylenn Basin. She has a custom made Serault weapon, a knife made of Serault glass attached to a fine chain, that she can whirl through the air nigh-invisibly, with deadly accuracy.

Day 10 of @scharoux‘s 14 Days of DA Lovers’ Prompts! Also for #ockiss20
Day 10: Surprise Kisses
Pairing: Oly Aeducan x Skadi Brosca
“...and, of course, congratulations.” Riona said, inclining her head. Though, considering how much taller she was than the dwarven woman, the gesture was mostly disregarded.
“Congratula- oh. Right.” Skadi said, suddenly remembering her swollen belly and the little babe inside. She wondered how she could have forgotten. The cramps and pains in her spine and feet and practically everywhere were constant reminders. “Yeah, it took us by surprise a bit.”
Riona nodded. “Really? You weren’t... trying? I gleaned the impression in Orzammar that dwarves weren’t exactly... plentiful.”
Skadi raised her eyebrow. “We were trying, not necessarily to continue the dwarven race or Oly’s bloodline, but for us. Not that it’s any of your business, Lady Mac Tir.”
Riona looked mortified. “Skadi, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to cause offense.”
“I believe you. I know you didn’t mean any harm. But I still think you should be more careful with your words.”
The mage nodded, stifling her urge for more apologies. “I should just have left it at congratulations.”
Skadi smiled. “Probably. Speaking of, I should go find my husband.”
Skadi said her goodbyes and wandered the castle, trying to look for Oly. He was probably messing about with Alistair - King Alistair, while poor Aster was left behind to deal with the court.
There was the sound of a barking hound, and Skadi rounded the corner to see Alistair tossing a ball for Ser Barksy, Aster’s mabari, Oly laughing uproariously at the dog’s gamboling antics.
She moved slowly as not to disturb them, creeping around behind them, closer and closer until she stepped around her husband and pressed a kiss to his cheek, his beard hairs tickling her lips.
Oly turned in surprise, bringing his hand up to his cheek with an awed look on his face. He grinned at the sight of her and pulled her close for a deeper kiss, her pregnant belly pressed up against him. “Hello, wife.”
“Husband.” she smiled, laughing as he went in to kiss both of her cheeks and then her nose. She winced as the baby within her kicked. Oly, however, laughed delightedly.
“She’ll grow up to be a warrior, all right.” he rumbled, chuckling and rubbing his stomach as if the kick had hurt him.
Skadi chuckled. “Are you so sure it will be a girl?”
Oly shrugged. “No, not really. But whatever pops out of you, I shall love.”
She stepped back in mock offense. “’Whatever pops out of me?’ Have you never talked to a pregnant woman before?”
Oly nodded, looking to Alistair for backup. “Only my mother, and look what popped out of her!”
He knelt down to address her belly, and Skadi allowed the smile to return to her face. “Shhh, they can hear you.”
“Yes, your mother’s probably been telling you lots of things about me,” Oly said to her belly, chuckling. “But don’t believe her until you come out and can see for yourself. No Stone for you, little one. You shall inherit the power of the Sky. I look forward to showing you the world.”
“And food.” Alistair put in, leaning over. “Er, this is your Uncle Alistair. I’ll show you the food here, when you get old enough.”
“All right, that’s enough; don’t overwhelm the kid.” Skadi waved them aside. “I think I’ll go lie down for a bit, read a book.
It was Skadi’s turn to be surprised when Oly scooped her up into his arms and kissed her. “Allow me. I take our leave, your Highness. Forgive me if I don’t bow.”
Alistair laughed. “Yeah, all right. this time.”
Oly kept pressing kisses to her face and neck as he carried her to their room. “I love you, Skadi Brosca. And I cannot wait to meet our child.”
Skadi laughed. “I love you too, Olaric Aeducan. But let’s let the child stay in for a while, yeah? I don’t know if I’m ready to ‘pop’ anything out just yet.”
He laughed once more, and Skadi grinned, happy and content in that moment to rest with her husband.
