I said earlier I took photos of the planes with my 3DS, and now I'm back at my laptop I can finally show them to you. They aren't great, but if you wanted good photos you should've asked my dad.
This was the first one. You can't tell, but it's really big. Actually, you probably can tell because it's the only one I got a clear photo of.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This plane may not look like it but it is the loudest thing I've ever heard. It's a rip-the-sky-apart sort of noise. I don't know how people watched it without ear protection.
If you look very closely at the second photo you'll see that smudge there is the plane flying towards the Story Bridge
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This helicopter I got more videos than photos of, and honestly that was me compensating for not blowing out my microphone with the previous plane (unfortunately you cannot see the video, because I don't know how to convert the file to .mp4).

We are about a tenth of the way toward the matching goal of $3k for the sanctuary’s fire insurance! Thank you to all of you who have donated so far! The River Fire was one of the scariest experiences of our lives, and we know how important it is to have a strong evacuation plan in place, incredible volunteers at the ready, and insurance to protect the property and animal buildings. If you need to make your charitable donations before the year ends for tax purposes, we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit and your gift will be doubled up to $3000! #thankyou #matching #riverfire #animalsanctuary #loveoneanother (at Blackberry Creek Farm Animal Sanctuary) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cmr6rp7S_TG/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

In 1988 before we had keyboard warriors and image manipulation, Dale Snodgrass flew an F-14 down the side of the USS America. Shot by an official navy photographer on film with a 400mm lens, the image looks freakily close to the aircraft carrier. In fact the F-14 Tomcat was about 300 metres out to sea. This famous American image illustrates the same effect that is evident in both Nino Lo Guidice and David Kapernick's shots of the F/A-18F Super Hornet captured at Brisbane's Riverfire Event. It's a text book example of image compression when shooting with telephoto lenses. Fortunately back then in 1988 when the image was first published, there were no backyard forensic image experts crying "fake". Oh how the world has changed.

Silence on Palestine in 'the Conversation'
The Conversation makes no mention of the Palestinians being killed each day by fighter planes like these. Israeli planes and heliocopters used by Israel on people in Gaza and the West Bank are provided parts made exclusively by Ferra Engineering in Tingalpa only a few kilometres from Riverfire along Maiwar (Brisbane River). Riverfire, sonic awe and the pornography of war Each September,…

Big fan of your writing, really enjoying the Ridley and Alexia storyline right now!! Sorry for sounding like a creep… I see that you’re Australian I’m hoping to visit in June, is Brisbane a good place to be? I want to avoid the cold haha
Hey! Thanks for the support 💕
Ahah no, you’re fine. I was living in Brisbane for two years not long ago. Winter in Aus is June, July, August so in June expect it to be about 20°C. Can get chilly to our standards but usually in the morning and at night.
Rainy months are generally wet season which is summer so Dec-Feb.
Brisbane is more of a tropical climate so it gets quite humid compared to the other cities so if it does rain, it’s still warm enough to be outside without a jacket 😂
Queensland is beautiful though! I suggest going to see the Irwin’s at Australia Zoo, and checking out Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise) and Coolangatta ways too! 🐊
In Brisbane itself, I suggest making use of the ferries to get around, seeing Eat Street at night (fooooooood - can ferry to this), Southbank (streets of restaurants, theatre, Ferris wheel, lagoon etc). 🍦
(PS: if you were going in Aug, I’d recommend Riverfire on the 31st! They low-level fly jets and a C17 down the river at 250ft - and then have fireworks!) << I suggest looking this up - the C17 is insane. ✈️ 🎆
