yes, tumblr has an issue with actual spambots, but like... real users who migrated from algorithmic sites are also spamming tags. just got a blazed post that was tagged with witchy, cottagecore, and goblincore alongside like 30 other tags. went to their blog. EVERY post was tagged with all 3 of those. most posts with those tags met none of those descriptions. thats spam.
tumblr doesnt work like instagram. when people go into those tags they dont want a blurry photo of.... whatever the fuck those were. its a system designed to be used manually. they see those and know its spam and dont like you very much because of it
#one was tagged with both wa/rmcore AND trau/macore! people dont want tra/uma when they search for warmth!#not that that post fit either of those descriptors but its still egregious
