Here are 6 songs I have been listening to lately:

1. Fast Car by Tracy Chapman

It's just such a good song, you know? It's one of those songs I've heard my whole life at stores and other places, but I only recently sat down and really listened to like a year ago.

2. Nothing Ever Happened by Deerhunter

I haven't listened to Deerhunter in a long time, but I returned to this recently. It's a song that perfectly describes anxiety and depression. (Sleep through the winter, awake in spring, adjust your eyes to the state of things. Focus on the depth that was never there. Nothing's easy, nothing's fair. Nothing ever happened to me, nothing ever happened to me, nothing ever happened to me. Life just passed and flashed right through me.)

3. Everyday Struggle by Biggie

This is my anthem for trying to get up and be a Normal Person™️. (I don't wanna live no more; sometimes I hear death knockin' at the front door. I'm livin' every day like a hustle, another drug to juggle. Another day, another struggle.)

4. Between the Bars by Elliott Smith

So, I've been listening to a lot of Elliott Smith in general again. But this is the one probably going through my head the most.

5. Мала в 19 by Kalush Orchestra

This is just a nice, smooth song by the Ukrainian Eurovision dudes this year. Very catchy hook, very poppy. It gets to me despite me not knowing the language.

6. Never Quite Free by The Mountain Goats

I listen to this song all the time. I listen to a lot of TMG songs often, but this is always in rotation. It makes me very hopeful and helps me ground myself, especially with regard to my agoraphobia and PTSD. (It's okay to find the faith to saunter forward with no fear of shadows spreading where you stand. And you'll breathe easier just knowing that the worst is all behind you and the waves that tossed the raft all night have set you on dry land. It gets okay to praise the day. Believe in sheltering skies and stable earth beneath.)

7. Joke or story that flew over your head as a kid?

I actually didn't start watching the show until I was around 17-18, but there are a couple stories that flew by my head at that time anyone. The famous one being The Creature from the Pit with that one scene! 

Another would be from the episode, Love & Monsters because of the ending relationship with Elton and Ursula. Then again, that whole episode tends to go completely over my head and erase itself altogether. It wasn’t RTD’s finest. 

21. Episode that will make you cry?

I HAVE WAY TOO MANY ACTUALLY! And most are companion departures of course, but some are just raw moments. I’ll try to list some at least.

The Dalek Invasion of Earth with Susan’s departure and One’s famous “One day I shall come back...” speech. 

The Tomb of the Cybermen because of Two’s speech to Victoria about family & loss. Honestly, it’s something that hits me personally. 

The Daemons just because IT IS ONE OF THE BEST EPISODES IN ALL OF DOCTOR WHO. It’s got everything you could ever want all in one story <3

The Green Death because of how genuine Pertwee’s heartbreak at Jo’s sudden departure was. He wasn’t acting in that moment, HE WAS SERIOUSLY SAD. I cried when I first watched it and still do. You can tell how much it effected him with Katy’s departure. 

Earthshock just because of the obvious (Adric’s death.)

Survival because it’s of the last scene “Come on Ace, we’ve got work to do...” speech (and especially the fact it was the last of the series until the revival.) 

Doomsday because I feel Rose and Ten’s pain SO MUCH! Seriously, who in the heck would burn up a planet just to give you some last words and let you know how much you touched their life? *cries again*

Last of the Time Lords, and yes strictly because the Master got shot. Just leave me alone, okay. Even for being a villain, he didn’t deserve that shit. 

Silence in the Library. For how much I GREATLY DISLIKE River Song as a character, this is the ONLY time she has won points with me. It’s sad what happened to her. 

The End of Time -- and YES because the Master risks his life to save the Doctor, resulting in him being sent back to the Time War. And the truth of the drums! Plus, Ten revisiting his companions before he regenerates always gets me too.

Vincent and the Doctor -- No reason needed. It’s all there in the episode. 

Face the Raven because of Clara’s sacrifice. I cried the first time I saw it. I still feel it to this day.

The Doctor Falls strictly because of what happens to Missy. I’m STILL NOT over it. In fact, I personally feel the Master wouldn’t have done that and I would like a detailed explanation for what happened. Thank you. 

52. Doctor you’d most get on with?

I know I’d definitely get along with Eight, but I think also Five and Ten.

22. role model?

...Neil Gaiman is not my role model, but I desire his career path. My role model in terms of behavior...? I guess the McElroy brothers? They put out fun content and have big lively personas, and they show compassion, but they know how to apologize for screw-ups, when to mind their own business, and how to set personal boundaries, and just have a good time with people that they care about. I feel like some sort of basic bitch saying that but shrug. I’m not putting hours of thought into these.

23. strange habits?

God I know I must. I’m twenty neurodivergencies in a trench coat but uhhhh lemme think. When I’m bored I clench my muscles one at a time, sometimes in rhythm to music. I like to discreetly take my shoes off in public spaces, which can get awkward if I suddenly have to stand up.

48. if you were a fruit, what kind would you be?

Maybe a strawberry? Vibrant, likes warm weather, usually can be found with a buddy or three.

PC. I like my mods, I like my privacy, and I like to be able to switch in and out of the game easily.

which era do you find most compelling: Prequel era for sure, though I enjoy all the other eras as well.

which canon event do you most disagree with/dislike: I’m saying this as someone who likes TFA, but the robbing of the OT characters’ happy endings. I don’t mind them having more struggles after RotJ, but as it stands their endings are so depressing that the ST is in a state of canon limbo for me, and it would take a lot for TRoS to drag them out of that.

what’s the most ridiculous thing in the star wars series to you: there’s so much I could point to in TLJ but I’ll pick on a movie I like instead and say Padme not knowing she was having twins. I’m sure there’s some eu explanation but did she really not have any kind of scan/checkup during pregnancy??
