I’ve seen lots of conflict between if shipping Romeo and Jesse is a good ship or bad, I saw one of ur posts slightly talking about it so decided would be interesting to hear what you think overall for both sides? And other general thoughts on the ship?

Okay, I'm a firm believer of " leave other ships tf alone. " Even if it's not my thing!

This, however, I've thought about a few times. My personal opinion is that - I've said it once I'll say it again - Jesse can canonically kick Romeo's ass!!! Yes, The Admin was still a thing and he's done some horrible crap! However, if we treated EVERY villain ever with that much weight, then we'd never be able to like.. ship Aiden with anyone, for example. Or, similarly in other places, people like. Idk Bill Cipher?

Romeo's very much so a narcissist. I can get behind it as easy as I understand why people don't. I just want people to "hate" a ship for the RIGHT REASONS.

Not because Romeo's god, but because he's crazy. Either way, Jesse CAN and HAS dealt with it before and put Romeo in his place.

Even so, what's wrong with a little enemies to lovers? Romeo thinks their power is uneven. He couldn't be more wrong!

Tldr: Ship conflict is stupid no matter what it is unless it's illegal, with Romesse is NOT, considering Admins are the one people who canonically don't have an age. They're like 2k years old and by that point I'd consider them gods. Cuz they are.

I ship LUMEO, man. Lukas and Romeo. I am in no place to hate on Romesse, and I've thought it cute a few times.

Maybe I'm biased cuz Romer is a fav, though.. As is Jesse..

Also if none of them loves Magnus, doesn't it mean no one will go after him during WitherStorm? So it's only Ellegaard which means she's gonna die without a choice?

In canon it's usually Axel he puts Aiden or Lukas in their place, but since Fred is kind of a goofy guy, Romeo will do it by himself? Or maybe even Xara?

Honestly? I haven’t thought about a lot of these. The only ships I like that would be affected by the swap is 1) Romesse which will probably not be a thing. Instead of temper tantrums, admin Jesse will just act all hurt and get teary eyed and then not pay attention to all the items that are flying around or any of the destruction that it’s causing. Romeo, even in this version, does not have much empathy and this is an absolute turn off for him. It’s not that he thinks she’s evil or a monster, she’s just irredeemably annoying to him. And 2) Lukesse. In this version Lukas will probably be the one to sympathize with her and try to help her redeem herself after she loses her powers making this the new Romesse dynamic. If you listen to ‘Never The Muse’ like I mentioned earlier, you’ll notice that Lukas is actually exactly what admin Jesse wants, she just doesn’t know it yet. Xara, like Petra , I headcanon as aroace, so no ships for her. Fred is straight, but content without anyone for now. (He does end up with a dad relationship with Binta the way Jesse and or Lukas has a parent relationship with Radar.) Romeo doesn’t want love. He wants admiration and attention for his achievements. (Again, this version of him has strategies to get it in healthy, honest ways.) He loves the prospect of becoming Jesse’s champion until she starts being a crybaby.

I don’t know about the pet thing. Does Waffles have to die? Does it have to have one to one plot beats? I like chickens a lot more than I ever liked pigs. What is the significance of having a pet die in the end anyway. If Reuben is still dead in this universe, just like canon, then Waffles probably is still alive.

Maybe Romeo is the one to advocate going to get Magnus. That would be his second choice after Gabriel. And Fred decides. My version is not a choose your own adventure. There is no gameplay. What if I just let other people have more agency.

Like I said, Romeo is the strongest and the most physically adept. Fred is the stable one with no mental disabilities or cryptid-like habits. And Xara is the wittiest. So it would either be Romeo or Xara doing the cutting down depending on the situation.

This was cool, but split your questions up next time! I want the freedom to make an essay of a post for each one!

Alternative but just as funny Romeo and Jesse dynamic that can be somewhat canon depending on how you play Jesse:

Romeo: I don’t care about you anymore, actually. I’ve found a new and better champion that’s SO much more cooler than you and you’re just a loser—

Jesse: you want me to be your champion so bad it makes you look stupid.

(There’s a line in the game where, when you’re in the sunshine institute, a recording will play where Romeo says that he’s SUPER CLOSE to finding a suitable champion, totally, and he doesn’t care about all the losers down there, but if there are any adventurers who are open to being his champion whose names happen to rhyme with ‘Nessie’—)

my take on the age problem in mcsm is that, yes, the characters don’t really have “ages”. BUT they are all age-coded to some extent. yeah, it’s not like the new Order is canonically in their 20s and the old Order in their 50s, but… they kind of act that way. i mean… years and time passage DOES exist canonically (Ivor says the Old Builders are even older than the OotS; the Admins existed before,,, pretty much anything else), and with time comes maturity, regardless of age. that’s the biggest reason that, irl, it’s weird for a 30 year old to date a 20 year old; yes, it’s legal, but there’s a huge difference in maturity level. it kind of feels like the whole Twilight thing to me; like, it’s surely weird for a teenager to be dating a man who has been alive for a thousand years, even if he does look like he’s her age.

furthermore, the concept of different ages absolutely exists in canon; in one of the “bts” clips, Petra says that Jack is old. so to say that there’s “no age difference” between, like, the old Order, the new Order, the Admins, people like Radar, etc. is just incorrect. i kind of think back to something that Eric Stirpe said about how Jack views the new Order versus the old Order, something-something-something he looked up to the old Order but saw the new Order on the same-ish level as him. so presumably, the old Order is older than he is, but the new Order is younger — thus why he doesn’t see them as anything to fanboy over despite losing his mind over Ivor. idk about you but no matter how much i love the work of someone younger than me, i would never ever obsess or fangirl over them; that’s just weird. and i think a similar thing can be said for Radar; he’s incredibly shy and overly cautious to be respectful of the new Order, and nobody acts that way over people the same age or younger than them. he’s also an intern and described as being inexperienced (and also acts it), so he’s certainly less mature than the new Order and thus can be assumed to be “younger”.

of course, because there are no real canonical ages, you can headcanon and ship whatever you want. i think you just need to realize why a lot of people see it as weird, gross, or wrong and just mayyybe reevaluate a little.

You're not being rude at all! Dw about it :D But in my opinion, there's a lot of unhealthy factors to the romesse relationship given both of their pasts and their experiences with each other. I don't think that Jesse could be with someone who hurt them, their town, and their friends so much, and I don't think Romeo could be with someone who he is/was so jealous of that it drove him to the point of nearly destroying the world. Too much trauma!!

Plus, the age difference between Romeo and Jesse makes me uncomfy. Romeo is quite likely centuries old and literally created Jesse's world. Jesse is a little baby to him. So small. So weak. So young. And sooo naive. It makes me feel weird to think that Jesse/Romeo would date someone so much younger/older than them. I personally think that they'd mostly avoid each other after the events of s2 aside from Jesse making sure that Romeo isn't like. Dead. I see their post s2 relationship as something like a kid teaching an old man how to use a phone, but the old man isn't very happy to be there HDJDHSJJS but this is all just opinions

If you like the ship, cool! It's not my cup of tea. Also, I see a lot (like a LOT) of romesse fans attacking others for not liking the ship, which is why I don't want to go TOO deep into my thoughts on it. But I could write an entire essay on my complete opinion if I really wanted to (which I kinda do), but you didn't ask for that, so I won't get into it
