So, another "Furman writes women, especially Arcee, with a suspiciously resentful tone" post...

So, according to tfwiki, the editorial segment for issue 229 said that upcoming issue 236 "Prime's Rib" was "for all you feminists out there"...

And this is how said feminists were written. There's often an undercurrent of "feminist angry!" in the way he writes women, robot or human.

It seems that Simon Furman seems to feel that it's the feminists fault that he has to write female--I mean gendered robots. Because robots using male pronouns totally doesn't mean they're gendered!

However, male writers have often been the ones adding female robots. Bob Budiansky originally intended for Ratchet to be female. Ron Friedman actively pushed Hasbro to include Arcee for his daughter and she was always a part of the Transformers the Movie script (boy, did time prove him right for it). The female Paradron medic was in an episode written by Tom Cinciripini and Larry Leahy. Alpha Trion's female counterpart was written by the (then) married couple, Gerry and Carla Conway. The only episode introducing female Cybertronians with just a female writer credited is "The Search For Alpha Trion", though Beth Bornstein did introduce the most. Then, in Beast Wars, it was story co-editors Bob Forward and Larry DiTillio who wanted a female character on each side.

So yeah, Furman seems to blame the feminists for having to acknowledge female robots, but his fellow male creatives were also invested in having female robots.

Eighty-eight corporate leaders endorse Harris in new letter, including CEOs of Yelp, Box

Eighty-eight corporate leaders signed a new letter Friday endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for president.

Signers include former 21st Century Fox CEO James Murdoch, Snap Chairman Michael Lynton, Yelp boss Jeremy Stoppelman and Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen.

If the Democratic nominee wins the White House, they contend, “the business community can be confident that it will have a president who wants American industries to thrive.”

WASHINGTON — Eighty-eight current and former top executives from across corporate America have endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president in a new letter shared exclusively with CNBC.

Among the signers are several high-profile CEOs of public companies, including Aaron Levie of Box, Jeremy Stoppelman of Yelp and Michael Lynton, chairman of Snap

Other signers appear to be issuing their first public endorsements of Harris since she became the de facto Democratic nominee in July.

Scotty Nathaniel Sanchez was born on July 31st back in 1974, to two young teens. Peter and Gina Sanchez had met and fallen in love during their freshman year of high school. However, they had fallen within the wrong crowd and became addicted to both drugs and alcohol.

During their Junior year of high school, both at their lowest point, Gina had surprised Peter by telling him she was pregnant with their first and only child. It was Gina’s choice to go along with the pregnancy, she didn’t want to become a mother but the young woman decided that maybe it was time to get a fresh start. In the beginning of her pregnancy, Gina and Peter were doing really well. The two stopped hanging out with the wrong people, and started to get their lives together. Being only eighteen, it was tough to take on the kind of responsibility they were going too take on, but the two were doing it. Peter found a job as a mechanic, working on cars while getting his grades back up, while Gina found a job as full time nanny to a wonderful family.

The two had been doing really good, they were getting their life back on track to provide a happy, healthy and loving home for their first child. Sure Gina and Peter were terrified to become parents, but they were going to pull through. On that hot summer’s evening, that’s when the young couple had welcomed their first and only child. Together Peter and Gina had brought Scotty Nathaniel Sanchez into this World. He was their perfect little thing, and the moment Scotty was placed in Gina’s arms, that was her snap back into reality. That was the moment Peter and Gina realized that loving alcohol and drugs wasn’t worth it. So they both gave it up for good.

It was for the better that Peter and Gina gave up their old ways, in all honesty it had helped Scotty in the long run. He ended up having a good childhood, they worked hard and cherished him. They took care of him and provided him a happy and loving home. Growing up, Scotty got good grades in school and from an early age he knew what he wanted to do in life. He enjoyed sports, and was on the basketball and baseball team. The young kid was an active student and was always on honor roll. He enjoyed being on the Yearbook Committee during his freshman year of high school, and even ran for class president. To say he was pretty much the golden boy of his grade was an understatment.

Sure popularity was nice but it didn’t mean anything to him, his grades did however so he worked hard. He worked hard and had gotten accepted into Columbia University in New York City during his junior year. Senior year is where he had excelled the most. After graduating, it was that summer where he moved into his own apartment in New York to study at Columbia that changed his life for the better.

It was at Columbia University where his life began. At least, that’s what he thought. His life didn’t begin until he had met Alyssa Conway. She was just his type and Scotty fell in love with her. He fell head over heels the moment they met. The two dated for a few years, but then Scotty had finally got up the courage to ask her to marry him after they graduated. She had graduated from Columbia with a degree in English, while he ended up graduating from the Police Academy and becoming a Detective.

She of course said yes to his proposal, but you know the saying. First comes love, then comes marriage and—-, Scotty and Alyssa had welcomed Violet Grace Sanchez. The first eleven months of Violet’s life was perfect. A little right after her first birthday however, Alyssa was driving both her and Violet home from their Doctors appointment when a semi truck had hit her car and the two sadly passed on impact. It had destroyed Scotty, absolutely devastated him. Loosing not only the love of his life, but his daughter as well. Both Alyssa and Violet gone.

Scotty became cynical, hot-headed and a bit of a workaholic. Cracking case after case. Working hours on end. It wasn’t until his main boss had told him to maybe get out of the city, go somewhere new. Get a fresh start and that Alyssa and Violet wouldn’t want this for him, they wouldn’t want him to be so devastated by their loss.

So he found Wilmington, North Carolina and had decided to take the old Chiefs spot. It was perfect. Just what he needed. Scotty had decided that this place was going to be his new home. The Chief of Police has been in Wilmington for ten years and has been enjoying the peace and quiet.

I love writing. I mainly post X reader stories. Also for privacy reasons I’m not going to be showing my face or saying my name hope you understand but I did find this picture that sort of looks like me which is my profile picture. And I will be going by the name Budgie since it is apart of my username. My favorite color is yellow and I am learning Spanish at the moment. I have two pets a Jack Russell called Luna, a German Short Haired Pointer (GSP) called Milo and a Budgie called Rio. My favorite subject is Science and my favorite book series is School For Good And Evil which has come out with a movie on Netflix BUT my favorite movie franchise is Fast and Furious and a close second and third is Lord Of The Rings and The Hunger Games.

Day 46: North Conway, NH to Portland, ME

68 miles, 2,339ft ascent, 3:57

Despite the fall chill and overcast skies, the riders were anxious to start the day and see their loved ones on the beach. I slept well the night before, though I awoke mid-dream because my legs were cycling under the covers. I’m not making that up.

Much like the Tour de France this last day of the ride was a very casual affair with riders trying to soak in the last few miles and pausing for pictures along the way. After a pizza lunch at mile 60, I gathered the riders and guides so I could make an announcement. Days earlier I had privately suggested to the other riders that we ask Ron, the oldest and slowest rider to lead us the last 8 miles and onto the beach. Ron’s effort and determination on this trip have been nothing short of exceptional; he always departed in the morning 30-45 minutes before the other slower riders and usually arrived long after everyone else. Without complaint he rode 8-10 hour days for weeks. Of course the other riders agreed with my idea and although Ron initially objected, he was touched by the suggestion and accepted our request.

The last 8 miles were a victory parade ending in a rough parking lot full of cheering family and friends. I had perhaps the largest welcoming committee with Beth Koetting, Brady Koetting, Cloe Pippin, Katy Koetting, McCade Freeman and Maggie Koetting. After hugs, kisses and hellos the riders proceeded to the beach to dip front tires in the Atlantic Ocean and to celebrate with a champagne toast.

The evening cocktail and dinner celebration included a fabulous slide show, stories of adventure and hijinks and congratulations. Trek also provided some great gifts commemorating the trip.

The final group breakfast the next morning was a melancholy affair, saying goodbye to riders we’d gotten to know so well but were unlikely to see again.
