Thinking about the Monster-Hunter ABO Ronance AU again...
I know I have quite a few of these AUs, but I just love the idea of oblivious werewolf-Robin falling in love with secret monster-hunter Nancy, and being caught totally off-guard when she discovers her first girlfriend- her first kiss- her first partner- the person she thought was going to eventually become her mate, has actually been the very hunter tracking her for the last few months ever since Robin's family moved back to Hawkins after spending years traveling the country.
Robin was cursed with lycanthropy since birth. After her pregnant mother was bitten by what park rangers thought was an unusually aggressive wolf during a camping trip, Robin began shifting soon after her seventh birthday. To hide their daughter, the Buckley's went on an extended road trip- traveling to remote locations and doing odd jobs for cash until Robin managed to tame her 'wolfy' side.
After her 16th birthday, Robin convinces her parents that she's got it under control and they travel back to Hawkins. She starts school, joins band, and tries to make friends.
She fails miserably at the social aspect of high school. She's awkward and quiet, never mind the fact that she can't seem to stop putting her foot in her mouth. Things get worse when she presents as an omega, one of the few in their year, but the other students still seem weary of her.
She's not sure what to make of Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington. When she first started, they were dating. But romance apparently doesn't always work out, and they allegedly break up on Halloween after a blowout fight at some girl's party. Nancy starts dating Jonathan Byers for a bit afterwards, much to the student body's shock, but even that doesn't last more than a few months.
In May, they're paired together for a partner-project. The final for their creative-writing class. The teacher wants a fake newspaper story, a big one that's well thought out. If there's one thing Robin's good at, it's reading. Her bookshelves at home are filled with the numerous novels she's collected over the course of her family's travels, and it turns out that Nancy's pretty damn good at writing. They finish the assignment within a week, well before the due date, and decide to spend their remaining free time for the period in the library, talking quietly and getting to know each other.
Nancy's an alpha- a really attractive one too. Robin can't help the knot of affection that grows inside her- she can't help the crush that starts to develop. By mid-May, she's hopeless. Nancy Wheeler is all she can think of, and Robin's never felt this strongly about anyone before. It's scary and exciting- it's thrilling and terrifying. It's everything the teen flicks she's been watching said it would be.
And that's what scares her most of all. Because she's not a safe option for Nancy- she's not even a real option for Nancy. As far as Robin knows, Nancy's never shown interest in girls, not even omega girls. There were rumors about Barbara, Nancy's missing friend from last year, but that wasn't a topic Robin felt comfortable bringing up.
That's why it's such a shock when Nancy abruptly asks her to Prom next week during lunch, almost shyly handing Robin a small bouquet of flowers and a little stuffed teddy bear holding up a sign that says - Prom?
Robin can't believe it. For a horrible moment, she wonders if it's a prank- if Nancy's just messing with her like some other students have tried to, but that feeling is quickly chased away by the tenderness in Nancy's scent, by the adoration she sees in the shorter girl's eyes.
She says yes, blushing deeply when Nancy leans up and presses a kiss to her cheek in gratitude, before informing Robin that she'll be giving her a ride home today after school.
Later on, Robin skips into her house with giddiness running up her spine. She meets her parents with a wide grin, showing off the gifts she got from Nancy's prom proposal, and eagerly informing them that she really thinks Nancy truly likes her! She might finally have a girlfriend!
Meanwhile, Nancy watches Robin hop inside, staring after her with a expression that slowly goes blank. She drives back to her house, parking in the driveway and fishing out a worn leather journal from her bag. She flips through the pages and makes a quick notation under a page labeled Robin Buckley. The paper's doted with little facts and observations she's picked up on about the eccentric omega.
Then she reaches under her seat and retries the walkie, clicking it on and checking in with the group. She confirms that Robin accepted her offer, and that she doesn't seem to suspect anything suspicious. The kids all talk rapidly at her over the radio, and Nancy merely rolls her eyes and climbs out of the station wagon, telling them she'll be down in the basement soon and that they'll go over the details then.
Her eyes catch sight of a rumpled flannel hazardly cast into the back seat, recognizing the shirt as belonging to Robin. She'd worn it over a tee-shirt earlier in the day, before it got too warm for double layers.
Robin's scent, sweet and earthy, drifts into her nostrils. Her inner alpha purrs with contentment, something she hasn't felt in a long time, and the feeling of guilt and wrongness ease into her soul.
Nancy knows what she's doing is bad- she knows it's not fair to Robin. But if they're suspicions are true, it won't matter anyway.
Werewolves were monsters, and Nancy firmly believed that the only good monster was a dead one.

Things I would like to see in Stranger Things 5:
- Since Robin has done quite a few doodles on her red converse, I like to think she's quite good at drawing, so that can be a way for her to start up a conversation with Will
- And then Will confides in Robin about being gay and being in love with Mike because he had a feeling that she was like him and Robin confirming she was indeed like him and becoming his gay mentor (like you don't understand I NEED ROBIN AND WILL TO HAVE A CONVO ABOUT BEING GAY)
- Will (finally!) tells the party that he's gay (and Byler becomes a thing) but not before Robin comes out to the party in order to make Will feel more comfortable and to show him that they will accept him because that's totally something she would do as his gay mentor
- More Steve and Robin being "Platonic with a Capital P" cause we didn't get enough in st4
- Hopper and Joyce trying to corral the kids and control the situation as best as they can
- Joyce being a mother figure to Robin like she is with the rest of the kids and Robin becoming better acquainted with El, Jonathan, and ESPECIALLY Will because she didn't really get a chance to get to know the California crew before they packed up and moved so ya
- El traveling into Vecna's/Henry's/One's mind in order to be able to wake Max up and free her from his control because he said his victims stay with him in his mind so like 👀
- Max wakes up after El successfully rescues her from Vecna/Henry/One but she is severely incapacitated, like she's probably blind in one or both eyes and is going to need assistance walking for the rest of her life and is going to be stuck in the hospital for a few more weeks (possibly months)
- How and when the Upside Down was created
- What Will's connection to Vecna/Henry/One and the Upside Down really entails and how that could affect both him and The Party during this final stretch
- Vecna/Henry/One, the Demogorgons, the Demodogs, the Demobats, the Mindflayer, and the Upside Down along with whatever other monsters are down there get destroyed once and for all because I don't think shutting the gates is gonna do it this time
- Kali comes back to help El defeat Vecna/Henry/One
- Murray tries to figure Steve and Robin out but he can't because he's never seen anything like the two of them and it frustrates him to no end
- Then when he tries to psychoanalyze Robin she does it right back to him because she's a freaking genius and everyone is in awe of her because they've never seen Murray speechless before
- KAREN WHEELER DESERVES TO KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT EVERYTHING THAT'S BEEN GOING ON IN HAWKINS!!!!!!!!
- And I hate to say it but if Steve dies Robin dies too because despite the fact that she is my favorite character (close seconds are Nancy and Will) Steve is her platonic soulmate and they are codependent on one another and one just simply cannot survive without the other
- Like it would absolutely break my heart to have to see Robin try to live without her dingus of a best friend and to have to see Steve try to live without his wing woman of a bestie so if one dies both of them die
- Lucas defending Max's unconscious body with Erica from whatever creatures from the Upside Down want to try and take and/or kill her
- Mike and El break up because El realizes she needs to be her own person and because Mike is in love with Will
- Dustin is even more protective and stubborn about Steve heading into danger because of what happened to Eddie and he absolutely refuses to leave his side through the entire season
- RONANCE RONANCE RONANCE RONANCE (i know it's probably not gonna be canon but a girl can dream)
- Robin finally getting an onscreen kiss with her girlfriend or a girl she really likes (cough cough Nancy cough cough) (sorry Vickie but I feel like ur just too similar to Robin)
- And if Steve doesn't die (hopefully🤞) then please please please DO NOT have Steve and Nancy get back together after she breaks up with Jonathan when she finds out he lied to her about Emerson along with everything else that's been piling up between them
- Instead Nancy decides she's better off not being in a relationship (or better yet she gets together with Robin) and focuses on what she's absolutely sure she wants which is getting her journalism degree at Emerson (and Robin decides to go there too if they become a thing 😊)
- Because Nancy Wheeler is a smart, strong, fierce, badass, independent woman and she does not need to be kept in a cage by becoming a housewife who gives birth to SIX KIDS
- NANCY WHEELER DOES NOT WANT SIX KIDS
- I REPEAT, NANCY WHEELER DOES NOT WANT SIX KIDS
- Steve and Robin move in together and attend a community college together (Steve's either getting a teaching degree or a child psychology degree while Robin is doing something with linguistics) or they follow Nancy to Boston because Robin and Nancy are absolutely smitten with one another :)
- Meeting Steve and Robin's respective parents
Ok I think that's all for now 😅

ok so i’ve always had this plot in my head, born out of spite where post-season 4 after they’ve defeated vecna, everyone’s fine-ish, nancy, and jonathan break up but like steve doesn’t know that they’ve broken up all he knows is that they are having issues and he notices ronance getting closer and because steve knows what nancy’s like when she has a crush he immediately clocks her and he just like, he gets really really pissed off because as far as he knows she’s still with jonathan and he thinks that history is repeating itself. so he just gets really really passive-aggressive towards nancy, i’m talking about the season 1 scene in the alley except with no homophobia and he’s constantly in bitch mode and just incredibly standoffish to nancy. everybody clocks his behavior and they’re like, “what’s wrong with steve?” and they think he’s doing it because he either has a crush on nancy and is jealous of robin or he has a crush on robin and is jealous of nancy. (and it’s up to the writer if robin is aware that it’s his protective streak and she just doesn’t understand why he’s being extra hostile to nancy or if she also thinks that he’s jealous). but either way, steve is just being completely brutal to nancy, and it’s just like any form of like friendship between them just evaporated overnight. and i want a scene where it all comes to a head and literally, anybody can be there but the spicy six, all six of them have to be there. and let’s say he sees ronance having an intimate moment or maybe they’re planning a road trip and steve knows what happened the last time nancy went on a road trip with someone while she was on the outs with her boyfriend, so he just gets incredibly pissed at them. maybe he walks away or he says something snippy and nancy can’t take it anymore like it has been days, weeks, months of this and she’s just tired and she just like calls him out, and she’s like “what do you want? what is your problem? why are you acting like this towards me?” and steve is just like incredulous like, “are you seriously asking me what the problem is when you know very well that you are the problem?” and he just goes off on her and he’s like “this is the second time you will be pulling this shit with your partner where you guys argue and instead of maybe i don’t know sitting down and talking about shit you run off with the next available person and the next thing you know that’s your new partner. how am i supposed to trust you with robin when you have done the same thing to me and now jonathan? because this is your thing now and if you think i’m going to let you do this to robin, you must have inhaled too much of the upside down because clearly, you are delusional.” steve realizes that he’s probably being unfair to nancy but he legit doesn’t care are in that moment because he is so filled with rage at nancy’s audacity to pull this shit again and with his fucking platonic soulmate at that. and he just unloads all the anger that’s been festering from 1984 on her and that’s when everybody but mostly her and jonathan realize that oh shit the breakup fucked him up more than they realized and robin, who was under the impression that steve was mad at her for dating his ex realizes that he wasn’t mad at her he was mad for her and steve also realizes that nancy wasn’t cheating and he feels a little sorry, but he also feels so much better after his rant so he’s not that sorry. and then, in the end, everybody goes to therapy, and everybody deals with their stuff, and ronance get together, and jargyle get together, and steddie get together and everybody’s happy and in love, and they all become besties. this isn’t to like bash nancy, i’m just tired of seeing people having steve move on like that from the whole “bullshit” thing with little to no apologies, and i wish people would stop having him be okay with ronance right from the jump. but most of all, i just want steve to be petty with nancy and jonathan as a treat.
I don't know what it is about this ask but every time I try to read it it's like it goes in one eye and out my ears. Sorry, I think it's the wall of text that's just making my brain shut down.
It's just- to your last point; YES. I do love ronance but I specifically love the fanon version. Like, the Nancy that takes care of Robin or the Nancy that finds her rambling cute. It's very lovely and their personalities would vibe very well.... if only we didn't know what Nancy is canonically like with Robin... Or Steve... Or Jonathan.
I love Nancy, that's my girl and I do indeed support womens wrongs... but she should not be in a relationship asdfdsasd. Jonathan maybe but even they need couples counselling.
There's also like literally no way that Robin would even think about Nancy at all without having a very long, very drunk, bathroom talk with Steve. And even then, if she sees that Steve is still hurt by the bullshit thing? Or actually hears the real and full story? Bro code trumps all, she would drop Nancy without hesitation. Not even friends. They're enemies now.
Steve is her soulmate, they're ride or die.
Sorry for going off topic probably but like... as much as I do adore ronance, I do have to ignore Steve to ship them. If I start thinking about how Nancy is in canon, with Steve and Robin? I just cannot ship them at all. It's either completely fantasy fanon fluff or nothing. Robin deserves to have a girlfriend who would canonically treat her the way she deserves (like VICKIE, her CANON GIRLIE? (but also chrissy bc she's a sweetheart))

stranger things + abo ??
hi! i’m bee (20+nb) and i’m looking for anyone interested in writing some abo plots with stranger things muses! i write on discord so keep that in mind, and please only like this if you’re interested in writing, it’s very disheartening to get a like and message the blog only to get no reply.
as far as characters go, i really want to write as steve harrington, and i do write him as a trans man so keep that in mind, but i can do others as well if we double up - robin, dustin, max, and eleven i have more experience with, but i can do nancy or joyce as well. i would ideally love to write steve as an omega, but i can write him as an unconventional alpha if you’d prefer, and if we double i have no issue writing as an alpha for you. i would love to write him against a nancy or billy, but i’m open to other canon characters and ocs as well, if the oc is fleshed out!
i'm always willing to brainstorm for plot, but i do have a couple of plots already in mind. some may involve multiple ships and characters, but if you'd rather focus on a 1x1 that's alright with me too! i'm pretty flexible with plots and all, so please share any ideas you may have yourself!
i typically write 2-3 paragraphs per reply but i can do up to 10+ depending on what you give me to work with! and i’m a full-time student with mental health issues so it’s really important to me that my partner be less picky about reply frequency - if you need multiple replies every day, i’m not the person for you.
that’s about it, really! i’m a really chill person and i make an effort to be flexible and ask that you do the same. i look forward to hearing from you guys!

Ronance ABO AU where Nancy and Robin fall in love, but Nancy can't commit due to her fears about long-distance relationships after what happened with Jonathan, so Robin starts casually dating someone while Nancy's away at college.
Nancy finds out when she comes back for winter break, decides she can't let someone else take her omega and goes full home-wrecker.
Bonus points cause at first Nancy doesn't want to, since she just wants Robin to be happy and she knows she messed up by not committing, but Karen's like "they're not mated, go for it."

Love love love possessive alpha Nancy, but do you have any thoughts on possessive omega Robin??
Before they get together, she hides her jealousy really well. Robin knows it's unlikely that Nancy likes her that way, so it always makes her feel guilty when that spark of anger lights in her chest when someone dares to get to 'friendly' with Nancy in front of her.
As time goes on and Nancy's attraction to her starts to show, Robin becomes more bold and expressive in how she's feeling. One of her favorite things to do when someone else is getting to chummy with her crush is hug Nancy from behind and hide her face in sweet-smelling permed curls. The act itself is demure, she never looks at the interloper, but Nancy preens in moments like these. She loves when Robin gets possessive, she loves to see the other side of her omega that hardly ever gets a chance to shine.
Eventually, they start dating. Nancy kisses her one night while stargazing, and it's a wrap from there. They're both very touchy-feely when together. They keep it PG around the Party, but they're quite literally attached at the hip in all aspects of life.
Things reach a head once their relationship becomes intimately physical. Nancy finds she can't deny Robin anything and it shows. Robin is empowered by Nancy's devotion to her. Her self-esteem rises to the highest it has ever been, and she actually develops a social life for the first time in her high school career. Nancy even convinces Robin to help out at the school newspaper, which leads to plenty of late night 'work sessions' where it's just the two of them.
Furthermore, Robin becomes more comfortable with physical displays of affection as well. Nancy's lap quickly becomes her favorite seat, and despite their height difference, Nancy is able to hold Robin however she wants. It's impressive, especially since she usually only shows her strength when she wants Robin's attention.
This doesn't escape Robin's notice. Despite her goofy exterior, most people forget that she's fluent in four languages and learning a fifth. Robin is highly intelligent; she has a near picture-perfect memory, and that is something that Nancy highly values about her. Robin knows Nancy's tells, and there is nothing more infuriating than watching others flirt with an oblivious Nancy right in front of her.
This is where she tends to get a little dramatic and demanding, but that's not for the kiddies. lol

Thinking about the abo betrothal au for Ronance again, especially what things are like in the weeks leading up to Spring Break, when Nancy and Robin are really starting to become close (before Vecna starts being an asshole).
Their first kiss would totally be in the newspaper room- maybe Nancy's too focused on getting some article to look perfect in the layout and Robin's waiting with her after school because she's her ride.
I can just imagine the playful bickering that they would be comfortable doing by then- the teasing that they would share. By this point, Nancy's falling for Robin and vice-versa- the romantic tension, the shy glances, the blushing looks they would share...
ASJIKD It would be so cute before all the angst happens lol

I’d love to hear more abt this arranged marriage au when u have time 👀
Oooooh, boy. I got a lot to say lmaoooooo
First off, let us look at things from Nancy's point of view.
Nancy grows up in a very different environment than Robin does. Robin's family may be poor, but they have history in the area. They have connections and friendships, as well as familial relationships, within the town of Hawkins.
In this AU, Nancy's parents, Ted and Karen, move to Hawkins from a neighboring town after getting married. Ted obviously gets a good job (lets say he manages a factory of some kind), but Karen's always nagging him about making more connections with the community, so he starts reaching out a bit at his job and makes friends with some of his workers. Robin's father gets a cushy office job at Ted's factory, they become fairly good friends under the circumstances, and Rob's dad tells Ted a lot about his family history and the town.
One day, Robin's father is using his lunch to go over profiles of other teens around Robin's age for a prospective betrothal. Ted, who had been mostly unbothered about arranging a betrothal for his kids so soon, asks Rob's dad about the process and how it's going. Rob's father admits that he's having a hard time finding a match for his omega daughter because she's not attracted to men, and only alpha females are considered socially acceptable to betroth to omega females. He wants her to be happy with her future mate, but things are rather difficult to navigate when there's not a whole lot of available options to see
At the time, Nancy had just presented shortly after Starcourt, and Ted's overjoyed (he doesn't show it cause he's Ted) to have a rare alpha daughter. It gives Karen some serious bragging rights for her little clubs, and life's pretty good in the Wheeler household. Nancy's even broken up with her boyfriend, John-something, after discovering their scents didn't resonate following her presentation. Ted knows the Buckley's are pretty well-known, they're not swimming in money, but from what he can tell- Robin's a nice girl with a job, extracurriculars, and she's pretty smart from what her father says.
Ted might not be the most mindfully active person, but he knows an opportunity when he sees one. Nancy's driven and has a bright future ahead of her- she's an alpha, a female alpha...
Exactly what Robin Buckley's father is looking for.
They start talking, discussing logistics. Robin's dad tells Ted about Robin's dreams, about her untraditional viewpoint of life and how she wants to travel and go to college. Nancy's the exact same way; Ted tells him about how hardworking she is, about how she'd be a good provider no matter what Robin decides to do. The two of them jot out a rough contract over the next week, and Ted happily presents it to Nancy and Karen one Friday night after Holly's gone to sleep and Mike's downstairs in the basement with his friends.
Needless to say, Nancy's not happy. She has plans for the future, and one of those plans involved eventually getting back together with Jonathan after their scents settle (she hopes they may resonate again). A betrothal would certainly hamper those plans. She argues with her father, but Ted's not backing down. Arranged betrothals and engagements are the norm, and he's given Nancy so much freedom already, this will be good for her. Karen's hesitant because of the abrupt manner of all this, but she's heard of Robin. She's seen her with the kids and with the Harrington boy. She seems like a good match for Nancy (certainly better than she and Ted were).
Nancy's stuck and she doesn't like it. She argues with her parents all the time, she avoids the weekly hangouts the Party does. She knows Robin doesn't know yet- Nancy's supposed to be on the one to initiate the courting process.
But she can't be around her- not when Nancy can't get over how good Robin smells. She hates it, hates how her inner alpha responds to just the idea of Robin, of claiming the omega, of becoming someone's alpha. She's always had a get-it-done mindset, as her father proudly said after her presentation- Nancy was a go-getter, she was smart, ambitious, and scared of nothing.
Yet she hated the idea of giving in so easily- of finding enjoyment in this trap. She knows the rules, she knows who's paying for her college, who's put a roof over her head, and who's given her the best life possible under these circumstances. Nancy will play along for now, but as soon as she can, she's breaking it off. She can play the long game- she doesn't have to put up with this forever. Both Robin and herself will one day be free of this farce.
Except, she doesn't expect Robin's reaction. The week before school starts, she goes with her parents to meet Robin's parents and pick out the traditional courting gift. She asks the kids to find out Robin's favorite colors from Steve, and finds a bracelet within her parent's (albeit rather generous) price range. It's pretty and about as untraditional as she risks going. She doesn't want to upset Robin, Nancy wants everything to be as smooth as possible, but it's hard to hide her dismay at the whole situation.
She hears her parents talking over the phone with Robin's parents the night before school starts. Nancy listens to their planning unfold, and she's oddly numb to it. She'll get out of it, she will. Before bed, her mother comes into the room and tells her she'll be taking Robin to school in the morning, and that she'll give the omega the courting gift and start the betrothal process. It's not complicated, a lot of it is just posturing and doing things their parents can brag about, but Nancy will play along like she planned.
Morning comes and Nancy gets ready like a robot. She looks her best, as always dressed to impress. She goes through the motions, and heads over to the Buckley's after her parents insist on taking the most embarrassing barrage of pictures she's ever been through. Mike awkwardly wishes her luck, and Holly gives her a giant hug while beaming with excitement for a new sister. It's all so surreal to Nancy, and she has to keep reminding herself that it's not permanent. She sprays a extra dose of scent suppressants and takes off.
Robin's parents open the door for her, beaming grins and all happy greetings. Robin looks shocked to see her, her face pale and blue eyes wide with a tinge of fear.
Nancy hates it- she hates the fact that Robin's scared. She doesn't know how to fix it, doesn't know how to make her feel better. They leave the house and she opens the passenger-side door for Robin, taking her father's advice and being a 'real alpha.' They don't speak the whole way to the school. Nancy hasn't had a chance to be alone with Robin yet, and her scent burrows into her mind and imprints itself there. Nancy's inner alpha is ecstatic, she's obsessed, but she can't face it- she can't allow herself to fall into this. It's just her instincts, it's just her base biology. She's not an animal, she's not going to salivate over this omega like some uncontrollable beast. Nancy's better than that.
They arrive at school and park. The silence stretches on. Robin's fidgeting and obviously nervous- Nancy can smell it on her, even with her suppressants. The omega calls to her inner alpha, and it's unlike any feeling she's ever gotten with Steve or Jonathan.
It's so fucking unfair.
Finally, Nancy can't take it. She turns to Robin and asks her if she knows what's going on- what all this means? Robin shyly replies that she has an idea, with a surprising hint of snark shining through. It stuns Nancy, who quickly looks away to hide the unintentional smile that tries to stretch across her lips. She retrieves the bracelet and shows Robin, who visibly balks at the expensive piece of jewelry.
Yet Nancy can tell Robin likes it, and it pleases her more than she'd care to admit. With forced confidence, Nancy reaches over and fastens the bracelet to Robin's wrist. She takes a moment to admire it, before they return to the silence that dominates their morning.
Nancy sees too many people waltzing around outside their car, and she knows she needs to go check in with the newspaper club before homeroom. She tells Robin to get out of the car, that they're going to be late. She doesn't see the way her future omega's face seems to fall at her tone, nor does she realize just how harsh she's coming across. Robin's far too sensitive to these things, but Nancy's unaware of it. She walks with Robin long enough to ensure they make it into the main building before she breaks off towards her club headquarters.
Nancy's too conflicted about this- she's thinking too much. This is temporary, she just needs to play along for now.
She tries not to acknowledge the way her inner alpha hates the idea of leaving their potential mate. Their scents meld well together, even with all the suppressants they wear. They're compatible, but Nancy doesn't want to admit it- she doesn't want this choice taken from her- from them. This is for the better, she'll talk to Robin eventually, she just needs time.
But as the months past, she drags her feet. Things escalate, and Nancy ends up doing the one things she promised herself she wouldn't do- she hurts Robin.

i'm living for the angst of the arranged marriage au!! so freaking good!! and it got me thinking... what if after she finds Nancy's escape plan, Robin gets some ~ideas~ ? maybe she feels like if she leaves, Nancy will be "free" of her (poor baby, she really thinks she's not loved at all) and also if she leaves first, she's avoiding the pain later on when Nancy inevitably leaves her... i just can't get the picture of her returning the bracelet Nancy gave her out of my head. damn. hurts so good.
There's a time during the two weeks post-Vecna when Robin begs her parents to call off the betrothal. She's already reeling from discovering the so-called 'escape plan,' and she doesn't want to be stuck in a love-less marriage/mate-bond.
I think it hurts specifically because she does fall pretty hard for Nancy before that. They somewhat work things out (they have some sexy-times in the Upside Down due to Nancy's rut), and they have to talk to each other about their strained relationship. But then Nancy runs straight to Jonathan when the group reunites, and although Robin tries not to feel hurt, she's upset because she's not allowed to act on her (complicated) feelings for Vickie out of respect for their betrothal, but Nancy's allowed to throw herself at her ex-boyfriend (who's luckily not an omega, because that would drive Robin insane) without a care in the world.
Robin ignores Nancy's calls and doesn't speak to her at school. She asks Steve to take her to school instead once it reopens, and Nancy's beside herself trying to figure out what she did wrong. They'd both be stubborn about this, because Robin feels disrespected, but Nancy feels like she's overreacting and not giving her enough benefit of the doubt.
The breaking point is when things finally boil over, and they argue during a 'family dinner,' before going outside to not disrupt everyone else. Robin throws the bracelet at Nancy after the alpha makes the mistake of calling her unreasonably difficult, and Robin tells her to go find a mate who will 'listen to her hard-headed, selfishly stubborn stupidity instead.'
Nancy just stares in shock at Robin, the bracelet bounces off her shoulder and falls to the ground. They both are breathing heavily and the anger seems to melt right out of them. Robin bursts into tears, and Nancy isn't much better. They manage to talk things out after that, because neither of their inner-selves could handle seeing their potential mate so upset. Both of them apologize, but Nancy definitely ends up having more to atone for in the long run.
It's just so angsty, hehe.

More Betrothal AU thoughts (some nsfw).
Nancy gets jealous really easily, but hides it well. It starts happening before they're 'officially together' and she does her best to pretend she doesn't care. Robin still gets her usual crush on Vickie (who's an omega betrothed to the canon boyfriend away at college), and although they do have some feelings for each other, nothing ever comes of it besides some really intense friendship.
Nancy loses her shit just a little bit when Robin goes into heat over winter break. She's in California with Mike (she's secretly trying to work things out with Jonathan), but things obviously don't go the way she wants. She gets a update from home and learns Robin's went into heat early, which immediately sets off her inner alpha because she's not there.
Nancy's planning an 'escape' after college. She's going to push back the wedding as far as she can, and wants to get out of the betrothal. However, she slowly grows more and more attached to Robin. Her inner alpha adores her, and she can't keep making excuses. Eventually she learns to accept it, and she's embraces Robin as her future wife and mate.
Nancy makes the mistake of writing down her little escape plan, and Robin finds it while getting ready for their insane asylum adventure. They go through a really rough patch because of this, even though Nancy tries so desperately to explain.
Finding out about Nancy's plan to leave her really messes with Robin's trust issues. She feels super, super self-conscious because of this. Things get even worse when the entire group reunites, and Nancy runs straight to Jonathan without even thinking about her.
Their first time together is complicated. Nancy goes into a short pseudo-rut because of the stress in the Upside Down, and Robin's so brainwashed by abo cultural norms, that she views it as her duty to take care of her alpha- she's taught that it's an omega's job. Nancy doesn't know how to feel about this afterwards; she's not mad at Robin, per say. But she is mad that Robin felt like she had to do that; she never wants Robin to feel like she has no choice. It helps to bring them closer together in a way because they're forced to talk about it. Things are looking up until Nancy runs straight into Jonathan's arms four days later.
Robin doesn't talk to Nancy for two weeks after the group reunites. She spends time with Vickie, and purposely ignores her alpha's attempts to see her. Things aren't the greatest between them, but their parents just see it as the 'growing pains' of learning to be together (their parents' relationships are also not perfect, so they don't have the best examples).
Nancy isn't sure why Robin's so mad. She's not dating Jonathan- she was just happy to see him. They're both being stubborn idiots about everything, but it's only because they internalized their problems for so long that things boiled over in a less than healthy way.
Holly loves Robin. She starts introducing her as 'her future big sister.' It drives Nancy insane watching them together, she's not sure if she'll ever want children, but she's willing to try if it means she gets to see Robin like this in the future.

Ronance ABO AU where female alphas and female omegas still experience prejudice and homophobia against them because of religious patterns that categorize the dynamics as being 'curses from God.'
Lets say the punishment for Eve taking the apple is being turned into an alpha, and the punishment for Adam letting her was being turned into an omega. It's believed that God switched their biological functions in the 'natural order' as a way for them to atone for their sin, so the Church only advocates for male/female pairings as still being the 'correct' way to do things. So male omegas often end up with female alphas, while female alphas can be with any of the male dynamics since they can still technically conceive.
This posses a problem for Robin in 1980s Hawkins, because she's never felt any attraction to men, regardless of their dynamic. She presents as an omega during her sophomore year, and since omegas are less common compared to the majority of betas in the population, she gets an uncomfortable amount of attention. She learns to hide herself away with her band friends, and gradually melts back into mediocracy.
Things change when she meets Steve while working at Scoops Ahoy. After all the craziness of the Russians and the giant flesh monster they threw fireworks at, Robin's ready for some peace.
Unfortunately, that's not what happens. As soon as her eyes meet Nancy's, Robin's a goner. Nancy smells so damn good, better than anyone else she's ever scented. Steve took it well when she told him the truth about herself, about how she could never love a male. But she doesn't know how he'd react to this considering his admittance of Nancy being the only person he's ever fallen in love with. It's terrible- it's unimaginable.
She tries to bury her feelings- tries to avoid acknowledging the way she can't help but sneak glances at Nancy at school. Sometimes Nancy looks back, but there's an unreadable glint in her eyes, some type of longing that Robin can't make sense of.
Robin buries herself in her fledging crush in Vickie, tries to forget the way that Nancy's scent seems to call to her even more after the aspiring journalist presents as a rare female alpha.
It's maddening- Robin doesn't understand. She can't like her- she can't. It's not fair- not her best friend's ex-girlfriend- not someone who's already taken.
Things get harder to ignore once Chrissy Cunningham tragically dies the first night of Spring Break. They get swept into another problem of the Upside Down, and this time the stakes are higher than ever. Max is cursed- she's in danger. The protective instincts inside her want to hold the younger omega close, she wants to defend her pack.
She tries not to think of the way that Nancy watches her- of the way that Nancy quietly admits to her relationship with Jonathan falling apart. Robin can't afford the blind hope- she knows how it is. It doesn't matter what the experts say- the religious influence over their society is too vast. Their relationship would never be accepted, and Nancy would never risk the social strain it would cause. Not after barely getting through the drama of her complicated love-life between Steve and Jonathan.
But then again, Robin is surprised to find herself being proved otherwise. A flicker of hope burns in her chest as Nancy grows closer and closer to her, a flicker that ignites into a burning flame when Nancy squeezes her hand outside the Creel House, and tells her that she's got this while her scent curls around Robin protectively.
This is when it's undeniable. Her inner omega can sense it. Her feelings aren't one-sided, she wonders if they ever truly were. That connection tugs them towards each other, her heart yearns for someone that she previously thought was out of her reach.
Yet nothing happens. Nancy watches, but she keeps her distance after that. She's hesitant around Robin, like she doesn't trust them to be close together. The rejection hurts, and her heart withers in her chest. Things get worse when their missing friends finally return to Hawkins from California, and Robin has to watch Nancy run straight back to Jonathan. She watches the alpha take him back, she watches the soft way they hold each other.
Robin turns to Steve to avert her eyes, she can't bear to see the happy couple right now. It hurts- god, why does it hurt so bad? None of her previous crushes ever felt like this. Robin feels like her heart's been ripped out of her chest. Like Nancy just took it and stomped it into the ground. There's a feeling of worthlessness, of not being good enough, of never being right for someone.
Robin doesn't notice the way Nancy's eyes follow her over Jonathan's shoulder, of the confused and jealous gleam in her gaze when she sees Robin turn into Steve's embrace for comfort.
Something else is singing in the air, there's tension around them. Robin has no idea just how crazy things are about to get- the portals are open, Hawkins is under threat, Max is in a coma, and Vecna is still alive.
It's only one week later, when Robin's packing up her things at her house, that the true danger she's in becomes known. Vecna saw into Nancy's mind- he knows what she really wants, who she really wants.
She doesn't think twice about the blonde neighbor that shows up on her doorstep in the evening- he's an attractive man, but clearly not her type. He asks to use her phone. He says he lives down the street, and just returned from a work trip. He needs to contact his insurance, but his phone wasn't working. Can he use theirs?
Robin doesn't think twice about letting him in. Her mother's out working a double, and Steve will be here in an hour to pick her up. She's moving out until her mother finds a safer place for them to live, and Robin barely second-guesses the friendly neighbor asking for help. It's happened quite a bit lately, everyone in the community lost something or someone in the catastrophe.
She doesn't have enough time to question the sudden tiredness in her veins, the drowsy veil over her eyes. Robin passes out suddenly in her hallway, the yawning ache of a gate opening outside her house shakes the building, but she's no longer conscious enough to register it.
Steve pulls up to Robin's house entangled in vines. He makes it inside, but there's no sign of her. The inside is untouched. She left her purse, her trinkets. The phone is dangling off the hook, the dial tone filling the hauntingly silent atmosphere.
He catches sight of the gate from the back window- knowing that it hadn't been there this morning when he came by. He hurries back out to his car, grabbing the walkie and radioing in to the others about what's happened- that Robin's missing.
The police radio he got from Hopper is going crazy- three omega women are missing in town, their families reporting sightings of strange beasts around their homes and otherworldly vines snaking up the walls.
Vecna's up to something dangerous, and the team finds themselves in a race against time, desperate to not lose another cherished member of their makeshift family, and hopefully save the kidnapped victims from whatever horror Henry Creel has in store for them.

Sending on a separate ask because it's a different topic but regarding possesive alpha Nancy... do you think she'd get possesive and jealous even when Robin is with Steve? During her ruts I mean. Like, sure, they're more like siblings than anything else, but he's still an alpha and he still gets Robin's attention, all of whis should be for Nancy only. If Steve wants to spend time with an omega so much he can go get his own. It's just alpha competition (something Steve hasn't participated on after junior year but for Nancy this is new and she feels no need to "behave herself" when another alpha is watching movies or sharing jokes with her omega (hers!!))
LMAO YES
Nancy's ruts are bad because she's a new alpha. She presented late, so she's learning how to deal with ruts and other alpha-issues when Steve's already had a few years to get used to it.
She does get really possessive of Robin around the time of her rut. She tries not too, but it really, really, really gets to her. Robin basically knows she's staying over at the Wheelers' house for a week whenever Nancy's rut starts, because otherwise it's guaranteed that Nancy will come looking for her anyway.
Nancy's parents pretty much gave-up on trying to keep them apart, and Robin's mother isn't around enough to really care one way or the other. So long as they're safe, it's open-season during their cycles lmao
Steve and Robin have a sibling-scent bond, which is why Nancy usually doesn't care if they hang out- except when she's in rut. When she's in that state of mind, it doesn't matter who Robin's with- all that matters is that she isn't here with Nancy.
And that drives her insane.
She's snapped and growled at Steve before for getting too touchy with Robin in her presence (she always apologizes right after), but it's never as serious as when strangers or 'outsiders' to their group try to make a move on her omega. The first and only fight Nancy ever got into was because some asshole on the baseball team decided to smack Robin's ass when she was in pre-heat right in front of Nancy.
Needless to say, Nancy launched herself at him like a feral gremlin and he ended up missing the rest of the baseball season. Karen came down to the school afterwards to yell at the principal. Which meant Nancy got off scot-free, because she was technically defending her future mate.
Nancy became a legend among the omegas at school after that. The story of how she defended Robin without hesitation against a baseball player nearly twice her size spread like wildfire. Although they never officially confirmed it before graduation, for most people, that was all the confirmation they needed to know that Nancy and Robin were spoken for.
